Ah, everything just suddenly went Total War on me. I got a little lost.
I'm confused. Are we a small(ish) group of knights or an army?
Ian trotted along the path on a borrowed horse, appearing as a human to anyone that didn't know better, with his ears furled under his hood and a cape concealing his tail. His twin shields were strapped on either side of the beast acting like armor and sticking up far enough to make it difficult to shoot or knock him off, his axe on his hip, and a crossbow with a quiver of bolts on his back, the quiver situated just above his tail under the cape.

He hadn't been able to meet up with the party initially and was now following their trail into the forest to catch up with them. when he started getting into heavier forest he stopped his horse and reached down to unstrap one of the shields, sending it clattering on the ground and startling the horse. A reassuring pet a murmuring of "easy, easy" later and he was able to take his other shield and dismount, sending the horse to find it's own way back and continuing of foot after picking up his first shield. He didn't have to go far from there to meet up with Fanilly's group where they had been ambushed, getting there just barely in time to hear her plan.

Now, still being fairly new to the order he didn't actually know who anyone was besides the captain and rather than make an ordeal of finding out who everyone was he just walked up to Fanilly, aiming to be a part of her group. "Fanilly" he used her name not out of disrespect but with a casual and friendly tone, a smile even revealing itself as he pulled down his mask "Ian Vanafir, don't think we've actually met in any capacity before, sorry for my delayed arrival" as he spoke his ears poked up, pushing his hood back as they stood, and his tail's swaying occasionally made it visibly around his cape "I hope you don't mind if I follow you in the attack" His grip shifted on his shields as he glanced across the rest of the company, they were going to attack soon so introductions would have to wait till after, or during, the battle.
hmm, well I see once I get back
@VitaVitaAR Because neither of us have any idea how to jump in at this point XD
we figured coming in during the conflict would be easier.
both Zel and I plan on arriving in once the attack is already started. just lettin ya know
Name: Ian Vanafir

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Race: Hundi

Appearance:

Personality: Ian is a rather free-spirited one, typically erratic and with a difficult to break happy-go-lucky demeanor. It's not very difficult to become friends with him and he is not too shy to display his interest in someone, bluntly or playfully, and he can on occasion be uncomfortably affectionate. He's very devoted to his companions, his dedication to their protection can be seen in his chosen fighting style and the tenacity with which he will defend them. His tail and ears are often expressive of his mood, the latter of which he enjoys having pet, messing with his tail, however, will usually earn a growl from him.

Brief Backstory: Ian was born to a pair of Hundi sellswords in service to a wealthy trader in Ithillin, nothing much happened in the early years of his life, he would train with his parents or wrestle with the Trader's children, he was even allowed to receive tutoring alongside them as well. As his sixteenth birthday began to draw near he started accompanying his parents on the trade caravans and once the day hit he accompanied his last caravan into Velt, and stayed when the caravan returned. At this point he set out into the world, traveling through Velt continuing to work as a mercenary to fund his wandering. He would eventually cross over into Thaln, where his first encounter with the Iron Rose Knights would occur.

He'd encountered a group of brigands on the road, brigands that had already been targeted by a small group of Iron Rose knights already. The initial brigands had been dealt with but Ian and the knights had confused eachother for enemies. Ian had come out of the fight on top, besting the knights one on three, it was then that the leader of the group offered him a place within the order.

Equipment: Light plate armor designed to allow for a wide range of movement, A pair of Towershields each about two feet wide and almost as tall as he is, A crossbow, And a waraxe.

Skills: Ian's unique fighting style has him using a towershield in each hand, utilizing the heavy shields not only for protection but to pummel his opponents. He is surprisingly agile when using them and can swing them rather easily. When not using his shields his fighting style switches to one reliant on agility, dodging strikes rather than blocking them. Alternatively, Ian is quite skilled with a crossbow.

@The ghost in black

"I see" Maxim observed the display with some interest "Very good, now you already know you're my only student, but you are also my first Aether student, and I'm going to be honest your form of manipulation seems...strange, not entirely unfamiliar but I feel this will end up being a learning experience for the both of us"

"So" Maxim clapped his hands together "let's start with this: I've never known Aether to have a 'form' I've always known it to be universal, in more ways than one" he held out a hand and a flame sparked in it but that quickly turned into an orb of water, then of dirt, then finally disappearing as a gust of wind to some corner of the room "Now I'd like you to try something like that, try forming aether into a different form. 'earth to fire' if you would"
