Appearance: 5’10. About average in height, he’s at least above average when it comes to physique. Not quite as awe dropping as some of the individuals within Megatropolis, but hey it’s not bad for someone who doesn’t have super strength.
Messy orange hair and sharp red eyes seem rather fitting given the power Danny developed. There’s a single piercing below his lip to the left, and he often sports a pair of simple silver earrings. He dresses plainly and prefers dark colors and long sleeves that cover most of his body. Oddly enough, he’s almost never seen without his pair of gloves.
Personality: Danny is a young man with simple tastes. He’ll take a nice t-steak from the market just as readily as strips of authentic Kobe beef, and doesn’t care for the “appeal” of a six-figure digit sports car. He’ll definitely take a chance to flex his powers and get into a nice fight over most other things in life. Simple tastes really.
Confident and easy to provoke in the sense that he’s happy to fight, Danny has the decency to not go around starting fights. He might go looking for them, but it’s not too common that he’s the instigator. Granted, he’s usually the reason for things to escalate since restraint seems to be a fairly slippery concept for him to grasp… or at least hold onto for an extended period of time. Fights are something to be enjoyed, and it’s hard to truly have fun when he’s holding back constantly, no?
Powers: Explosion Manipulation. Powerful and extremely destructive! Collateral damage is a certainty when MB gets into a fight, and if he had any teammates then friendly fire would probably be somewhere down the line too. He also seems to have enhanced durability to withstand the explosions without so much as a scratch.
Weapons: None needed!
Fighting Style: Brawler. Thanks to his enhanced durability, MB hardly shies away from getting up close and personal with opponents, even if they have weapons. Unless there’s good reason to, he’ll generally start off weak with his power and escalate based on how well his opponent fares.
Signature MovesExplosive Roar:
Imagine fire breath. Now replace the flames with explosions and that’s a pretty accurate image of what this move looks like. MB’ll take a deep breath and exhale fiercely, at which point the air in a cone ahead of him will spontaneously explode.Everything Explodes:
MB has the ability to render any material explosive little more than a glance. A blink causes a mark to appear on the surface, and explosions quickly ripple outward as the material is converted into what MB calls Explodium. He seems to have the ability to halt the conversion at any point. Also, yes, it does work on organics, but it’s rather messy.Explosive Exit/Entry:
Countless explosions obscure MB as he claps his hands in applause. When everything has died down, MB has either completely disappeared or is revealed as the smoke clears.History: Up until a few years ago, Danny Patrio was just one of the millions that called Megatropolis home. An undergraduate at college who wasn’t not quite sure what he wanted to do with life. Life wasn’t bad, but it certainly was bland. Things changed, as they usually do for people who get one of these written, soon enough though. The monotony of day to day life was interrupted by the rare howl of sirens, announcing the latest monster that had arrived to terrorize the city. It tore through the asphalt, raining debris all around Danny as he stared up at the giant carapace-clad word.
Something flicked at that moment. A thunderous explosion drowned out every other sound, his surroundings disappeared in a flash of white, and the words, “I demand things to be awesome,” seemed to echo in his mind. Odd right? He thought so at the time too, but got distracted as the massive monster body’s swelled and burst apart, detonating in a gory and traumatizing mess. Like, it was a really big mess. Took the city several days to sanitize the area and apparently people were still finding pieces kilometers away in the following weeks. As for Danny who had been right in front of the creature as it suffered a critical failure at existence? Well, as explosions tore its body apart he came to the realization that he had, somehow, been the cause.
Since then, he’s made a bit of a reputation for himself. Known for causing only slightly less collateral damage than the Monsters he goes out to destroy, and engaging Heroes and Villains alike in destructive fights, MB’s not exactly a popular powered. Still, his destructive capacity when it comes to dealing with threats means no one’s really been fed up enough to kick him out of town just yet, and he’s tried to keep his activities out of the way for a bit of time now.
Skills: He’s actually got a pretty delicate touch when it comes to making models, and he’s a decent archer. Living alone also means he’s a decent cook and housekeeper.
Weaknesses:Probably fairly obvious, but stealth isn’t even a remote possibility for MB when his powers are active. Everything within several kilometers will know he’s around, and probably see it soon enough if he ramps up.
Beyond his heightened durability and powerful destructive capacity, MB’s pretty much a regular, if fit, human. Without explosions to amp up his punches, he hits just as hard as someone his size. He’s a decent runner, got ok reflexes, and an alright head on his shoulders.
His power has a somatic component which means he can’t do much if paralyzed or otherwise unable to move. Physical restraints tend to be lacking as rearing his head back is enough to utilize his Explosive Roar. A blink isn't enough to trigger Everything Explodes, generally he uses a hand gesture.
Anything that touches MB’s bare skin becomes immune to his generated explosions for an equal amount of time. A crafty opponent who slips their hands under his layers of clothing, like a damn pervert, would be safe from his explosions for however long they made contact with MB. It’s also why his clothes don’t disintegrate every time he fights.
