Great! that's kind of stuff we need. to be clear, I'm not writing the history of everyone's nation, just acting as the coordinator and codifier, so please post your ideas in the linked history thread and we can work out how everything ties together. I know some folks don't like pirate pads, but I think I'll be creating one in the other thread for those who are interested to use, so people can add directly to the timeline. People who prefer not to use pirate pads can always pm me or post directly in the history thread, and I will add their points to the official history.

I have a question in regards to technology. I had an idea for a nation that is generally highly defiant, scientifically advanced, and has a disposition towards freedom and independence - worship of gods is extremely rare and generally discouraged, although not outlawed. It's not that they reject the existence, of gods, but they believe themselves capable of independent survival. My questions;

1. Would they be unable to use magic?

2. How advanced could their tech be? I was thinking something along the WoW gnomes, if that makes sense

3. Could I even make a nation like that, or would some vengeful god have likely eradicated them?

Here is the current map with additional NPC's (Dark brown and Dark/Fleshy Pink to the immediate west of the Darkness) and Monkey's eastern half added. With this done, I will be moving towards making the first IC post (Finally)
@Darkspleen: Still open and we stay open until that land is filled up xD.

@Jeddaven: 1: Yes and no. They would not be able to use heroes (Mortals with direct magic given to them) as no god would be willing to give your misotheist people magic, however you would still be able to use mages and magical objects (Or trickle effect magic users) because it is magic gained from being descendants of previous heroes(mages) or from being in the proximity of high concentrations of ambient magic (Magic that is distributed to a location or object instead of a person).

2: Steampunk is generally not allowed as I don't want to set a precedent of tech creep (Players gradually increase the tech level of the RP over time), however through special traits I can allow things like technology that is 100 or so years advanced (E.g: Isotope's use of 1500's-1600 galleons) or I could allow you for example to use some of the more esoteric designs of Da Vinci as practical weapons (AKA: Clockpunk to an extent would be allowed with special traits).

3: You could make the nation, however the gods would be pretty pissed. You would be having an even harder time than DAWNSTARS revolutionary (merica!) republic in terms of aggressive deities and fanatically theocratic states.

The RFP is ruled by a senate which consists of four elected representatives from each individual territory under their control. Each representative has the right to propose laws and bills, which are then voted upon by the entire senate. The bill, if it passes through the senate, will be voted upon by the general populace as applicable. At a minimum of every five years, the people vote to choose one person to represent the nation as a whole. If a majority of the senate votes to reevaluate any senator or senatorial representative, voting re-occurs.

It is also not uncommon for them to have lights tans. Generally, also, height is slightly above the average for humans, though not to the point of lankiness.

In terms of personality, Zelseki humans are typically extremely defiant towards invaders, due to the constant hostility their experience. Zelseki soldiers are known to become extremely desperate and aggressive in defense of their nation, due to its already desperate situation, so much so that it is not unheard of for soldiers nearing defeat to engage in suicidal assaults, though not any more so than any other loyal soldier.

-Minority Race Appearance(s): Generally typical for dwarves - short and stout, though with a very moderate skin tone.
