Chloe had no real comprehension of personal space or privacy and so started to casually wander around behind the blacksmith as he set to work on her steel rods, looking around to see if there was anything interesting. “Is it?" she replied as he commented on the design for the rods. She had never really considered the design to be anything special, but then again it was hardly her field of expertise. She let the comment about Donat slide though as she had no reason to talk against him either, not yet anyway. If he had machinations of power that was his business. Only once she talked with this Hazeal women would she make up her mind about the prime minister. She picked up a small hammer from a desk and turned it around in her hands experimentally. It was light and looked well used. “A family reunion, I guess,” Chloe replied non-committally as she put the hammer back down where she had found it. She spun around to face the blacksmith as he worked and with her hands planted behind her waist she leaned toward him with a quizzical look on her face. “But an adventure huh? That's a pretty bold thing to do if you don't mind me saying so.” Whether he minded her asking or not was clearly not an issue for her. Chloe looked at him for a moment before looking at the contents of his workshop. “Are you any good with any of these?” she asked, indicating the products of his craft.

"Technically, sir, what I'm doing is disrespecting authority, not insubordination." She considered adding Lieutenant Cutie, but opted instead to not push her luck just yet. Though it would be rather amusing to watch the knight explain why he punished Cassie for calling him cute. Astarte was known for being easy to push off the deep end, what with all his pride. Like a puffed up baby owl trying to swagger. Still, he DID outrank her, and was a skilled knight from what she overheard. She puffed the pipe again, then shifted the Howler across her shoulders with another jackal grin. "Giant targets you say? Sounds like a perfect place for me. I guess I'll go meet the Knight Lieutenant and join the mission. See you there Lieutenant..." As the bombardier turned around, she puffed the smoke through her grin, giving a wink to Astarte as she headed off towards the gate. "...Cutie."

Dante Dante heard the girl wandering around behind him, examining some of his hammers. "Well, an adventure feels like a nice change of scenery for me, in my opinion. Gets a bit stale with all of the work around here." he said, setting one rod down and working on more. "And to answer your question, yes. I used to be a swordsman before settling down as a blacksmith. Thought I'd give the trade a try. It's nice, forging weapons. I get to learn their material, how they work. I've even worked with some guns. And must I say, they are quite an interesting thing to look at. I do have a sword I use specifically, it should be in the chest under the table near you." he said calmly, believing she wouldn't steal from him. "It's sharper, smoother, and larger than most swords I've seen. Higher quality than just about any standard sword." he said proudly, looking behind him to stare at her for a moment. "So, are you going to go to this meeting?" he asked, before turning around and getting back to work, sparks flying.

Astarte
Gah... He could only repent on how embarrassing it how sounded, the fact that he mistook the charges he was accusing the girl of. He was about to try and come up with some retort when the girl decided to change the subject. Well, he was relieved to hear that change of subject, but what came next set his fuse off yet again. Being called cute was bad enough, but lieutenant cutie? He remembered his sister using the same nickname once, and it was most definitely horrible. What's more, hearing it from his sister was already bad enough, but hearing it from someone with a lower rank? Disgraceful, totally so. "D-D-Don't call me that! I'll see to it that they hold your pay off for the next month!" A baseless threat, given that his rank wasn't THAT big of a deal. "And fuckin' wait for me, I'm goin' in the same direction!" Astarte said, with a bit of an accent he had picked up during his infancy. He hurried behind the girl. It would have already been awkward enough to walk in the same direction and just everntually find each other, so he had hoped to make that feeling smaller while shouting at her. Though, he know felt like it had the opposite effect.
Hazael
The place went from deserted to populated in a matter of seconds. Well, it made Hazael happy. Firstly, to answer the first one to arrive, she stood straight up and looked at him, eye to eye. While she was little, she could also easily intimidate anyone just with a look. It was more of a test than anything else, to see if they had what it takes. "Yep, that's me. It is HazAel, though. You lacking an A there." She said to Nex, with a big smile on her face. Still, she wondered whether the guy had read the secret message or not. Maybe he hadn't, maybe he did. It didn't matter. The fact that he seemed oddly familiar was definitely offputting, though. Then, she turned to the man with bright red hair. 'Eyecatching', she thought. Aside from her, all of her family's hair colors were scattered all around and with some real strange tones. It was good to see someone with equally strange hair color out of her family. Reassuring that it didn't run only in her family. "Good, good! I was waiting for you all! Then, let me get into some details. We are going after this monster, an 'Arachnoblaster', is its name. Crap, barely bit my tongue." Hazael said, acting a bit more childish, before getting on with her explanation. "It's skin is really durable, as well as the silk it produces. Guys over here want to do some research on it, see if we can implement what it does on our weaponry or armors. It should be pretty fun, though I'd take the thing up as many times needed if it only had less legs." Hazael said, trying to mask the fact that she was actually feeling disgusted by the mere thought of having to go against a giant spider. It was more disgust than fear, though. She was a woman, after all. Of course, the other one, observing everything from the sidelines, hadn't escaped her vigilant eye. Hazael merely winked at her and returned to the business at hand. "So! The specifics of the job are 'go inside, beat the crap out of the crawling thing, bring back what's left', basically. Oh, it also can spit fire, so be warned about that. We leave tomorrow at afternoon, by the time we think no one else will be arriving. Since you are the first ones to come here, I wanna ask, what are your names? And..." Her eyes turned sharp, trying not to miss a detail of anything they said. She had to fully analyze the answer of the next question, as it will give them up as supporters of Donat or otherwise. "What made you think of accepting this job?"

Nex nodded as Hazael correct him in how to say her name. "Got it, Hazael, not Hazel. Nex will make sure to remember that. As for name, Nex doesn't remember, so Nex goes by Nex, I am Nex, Nex is me, Nex is Nex." He giggled slightly, at a joke only he seemed to hear or understand. He took some time to fold up the flyer and stuff it into the cloak he was wearing. Underneath said cloak, Nex was wearing no shirt, some gauze wrappings around his arms that went from his hands down to his elbows, and some ragged black breeches that seemed to be falling apart at the seems. He also wore a thick, black belt, which seemed to have something attached to it, but it couldn't be seen due to the cloak hiding it from view. "Nex came cause Nex was bored, Arachnoblaster sounds like fun. Oh," Nex turned around quickly to address the red headed stranger, taking a secind to look at the sword. He could ferk some kind of energy from it, meaning it must be enchanted, though what that might be was a mystery. Turning his eyes back up to the swords owner face, he smiled again. "Glad to meet you, Red head, my na e is Nex, what is your name, and is it okay if I call you Red Head?" Nex also wanted to say high to the lady on the bench, but she was trying to be sneaky, and it would be rude of him to point her out like that.

Ralena watched as a few more people moved along the street. Someone else joined the two that were near the wall. Another male. "That makes three so far," she said quietly, speaking into the air. She took a moment to look directly at the three people ahead and ended up making eye contact with one of them. She stared at the young woman for a few moments, before returning to her reading again. I can't make out what they're saying, but it's too soon to move in. Who knows how many more may show up. A man began his way down the streets, pushing a fruit cart along the street. Ralena blinked for a moment, before standing and putting her reading material back in her pocket. She waved a hand to the man with the cart and jogged over to him. "How much are two of these?" she asked the man, looking at some of the fruit. Eventually, she bit into a juicy fruit, while standing in the middle of the street. She looked at the small group near the wall and raised her arm, eventually letting the fruit fly towards the three people. She didn't aim at any of them in particular, but if no one moved it was sure to hit at least one of them. The fruit was medium sized and had a soft, but firm texture on the outside.

“Guns huh? Well, I wouldn't know about those,” Chloe said jovially in response as she listened to him speak, though in truth she was quite serious. Her form of magic required her to possess a rather in depth knowledge of the shapes and properties of weapons. The more she knew the easier it was to create them through her magic. Swords were easy. Shields were even easier if you wanted something simple but strong. Guns though, guns were a weapon that she could not create with her magic. Too many moving parts for a start. She moved over to the table that he had indicated and knelt down before the chest and looked it over. She did not go to open it. “I will be, in a manner of speaking, though not without those rods~” she said in an almost lyrical, singsong tone. “I may need to use them before the day is out you see, depending on what the young lady knight has to say~” The truth at the moment was that she had no idea what was going to happen when she got her answer. She might even need to use them on the lady herself, if it came to it. She looked at the blacksmiths back and stared at him for a moment as a thought occurred to her. “Chloe Magnolia Chevalier, at your service my lord craftsman,” she said playfully without a hint of apparent sarcasm.

Avon Ruhame
After noting the poster's information and pounding into his brain the location and time, he decided he would check it out a little bit early. He glanced at the poster before he left to see the gates, as much as he would've loved to take the poster himself so he could easily reference the information, that might have made it so others wouldn't know about it. And ruining other people's job opportunities wasn't something he was up for. So, after speaking the information aloud in order to get it down for sure, he meandered over towards the gate. ' Wow, fuck. I hope they still have room for me. ' Not only did it look like there was a meeting about it today, but it was packed! If Avon had any other promising jobs he could've got, he would probably had just left. But his curiosity and trouble looking for work in the town made it so he would stay. The people around him didn't look all that untrustworthy, however handfull of them gave off some shady vibes. Not that it mattered, if there were this many people the job would most likely be a huge success. 'It'd be as smooth as a lynchin' was the wording he used when he thought about it. Well, with this many people though the money might be split into pretty small chunks, and the job offer never said it was going to pay well. As Avon drew closer, he was able to pick out who was Hazael, and what she was saying. Instantly he felt like an idiot. Wow If I ain't the biggest dumbass in this crowd I would never find who is. He had thought the spider was some company brand, or what symbol the group would be representing. Not what they were hunting! Oh well, at least no one knew that's what he thought it would be. He was also surprised at the job request itself. Now, Avon isn't, nor ever was too great of a monster hunter, but a job like this was one he was somewhat excited to go on. Helping scientists, killing baddies, getting payed, sounded like a honest job! So long as he wasn't expected to extort some old men after the job was done he was ready to go! After Hazael finished explaining the job, she asked for those present to introduce themselves. Avon decided on waiting a bit before throwing himself out there, people probably wouldn't want to hear about the wandering amateur gunsmith anyway.

Nex's cloak flew outwards as a tendril of black intercepted the fruit that seemed to be headed his way, spearing it right through the center. It retreated slightly, stopping only to allow Nex to pull the fruit off of it, then it dispersed nothingness. Nex took a bite out of it, enjoying the taste of it, sweet yet tart at the same time. Nex walked over to the person who has thrown the fruit, his ever present smile still plastered on his face. "You know it's not nice to throw things lady, people could get hurt. But now that you've stopped trying to be sneaky, Nex can ask you who you are. Nex likes having a lot of friends, would you like to be one of them?" Nex continued to munch on the fruit, nodding towards the lady as he continued to speak. "Also, thanks for fruit, it's very good." @Water Akira

Dante Dante listened to the girl talk, ears perking up when he heard about the rods. He looked at her, dropping the final complete rod into the cloth he had set up next to the anvil, the rod clinking as it hit the others. "Why are you talking like that?" he asked, giving her an odd gaze. When she mentioned her name and being at his service, he cocked his head, eyes widening a little. "Oh, uh... ok. I'm Dante Obsid. Pleasure to meet you." Dante said calmly, handing the bag with the items to the girl. He put up the 'Gone for awhile' sign, and stepped out, shaking his cloak after grabbing his sword, the sharp blade at his waist. "Anyways, I'm off about this adventure. Feel free to follow!" He said, mimicking the sing-song voice and dashing off, using the same path he did when he first moved here, jumping off the side, landing on an old, steady roof, and running along it, jumping aside, not many bothering to look up, and he made his way to the gate, wanting to hear about the adventure. Hearing about this from one like Hazeal, surprised him. He was excited. Something like this hadn't happened to him before. His blood rushed at the thought. He soon was in sight of the gate of the capital, running and waving, hoping he wasn't too late.

"Right, sorry Sir." Cassie backed off on the teasing, slowing her pace to let the young man take the lead. While she was fully willing to fluster and annoy, she wasn't willing to ACTUALLY undermine a superior officer's pride and authority in public. Despite her attitude, she was a soldier, and a good one at that. Plus, Astarte seemed surprisingly innocent and full of idealism. She didn't have the heart to crush that. At the mention of her wages, however, her thoughts turned to Donat as she puffed her pipe quietly. Expansion of the empire would cripple, rather than bring power. The other nations wouldn't just stand around and let themselves be pushed back. They'd fight. The grand dream of a mighty empire would fracture. Internal power struggles, the poor get trampled, civil war, suppression...Cassie's mind flicked back and forth. Not so much on the potential war, not even on whether or not the nation would survive...but on which side she'd find herself. On one hand, she disagreed heavily with the idea of expansionism. The other nations were allies, there was peace. Living in poverty had let the bombardier learn many things, the least of which being that no matter what's happening, it's the weak and poor who suffer for the strong and rich. But on the other hand, her family relied on her own military wages to stay above the water. If she opposed Donat openly, assuming she wasn't executed on the spot, she'd be discharged from the military. Her family would crumble. A matter of pride and principal versus family and necessity. She had time to decide. She would see what the Knight Lieutenant was planning. It could be a ruse to sniff out those who opposed Donat and kill them. See how things go. Make a decision then. For now, focus on the fact that she'd got to unload her Howler into a living monster, instead of another damn training dummy. The thought filled her with glee as she adjusted the straps to her massive harness, already measuring the charges in her head. Judging by the name and the mention of silk, this thing was a spider of some sort. Hard shell. Squishy interiors. She couldn't help herself at the thought of seeing gore filled explosions from each shot she'd let loose. Puncture slugs would do amazing things to such a beast. "Don't suppose we'll be getting paid for this hunt sir? I could use some extra money, and I AM using my personal powders for this. The stuff the treasury springs for just doesn't have the oomph or the flare that makes every shot so damn beautiful. Gotta tinker a bit to give it that extra burn." She bit her lip, picking up the pace to match Astarte's as they neared the gate. Looked like quite the crowd had gathered actually. She wiped at her monocle, adjusting the cravat on her coat and cracking her knuckles happily, the massive Howler Cannon dwarfing just about everyone in attendance.

Salazar held his arm up, palm flattened as the bird returned to him. The images, sounds and shapes that the illusion had seen and heard flooded violently into his mind. The process was always a little painful as images ripped into his head and allocated their positions in his internal timeline. The bird chirped gently before blinking out of existence. Salazar folded his arms and closed his eyes slowly. This was another painful part of altering a minds, travelling through them. His body blinked out of existence in the court and shortly materialized in the middle of the group that had gathered. "Hello everyone" he spun around, taking in the faces that surrounded him "well isn't this a quaint meeting" he smiled and bowed gently, the last of the residual blue energy his magic created flicking off him like ethereal flames. He turned to Hazael and smiled "A pleasure as always, Hazael" he clasped her hand and pressed the back of her hand to his lips before looking back towards the others "Salazar Theroux, a pleasure to meet you all" his eyes flicked up to the massive cannon and knew that meant one thing. She was joining the hunt. Salazar smiled inwardly. She is always a fun companion Grim whispered in Salazar's ear.

Ralena watched as the form appeared and stopped the fruit from hitting anyone. She stared at the male for some moments, a dull expression on her face, before seeing him walking over to her. With the mysterious male near her, she changed her footing; her sword sheathed on her left hip. She looked at the male, before her expression brightened in marvel. "Wow! That was amazing! How did you do that?" She continued the bright expression for a moment, before her expression went to its true, annoyed state, looking toward the others that were some several paces away. It seemed another person was there now. That's four. She focused on the male that was near her again. Her expression and voice stayed neutral this time. "Sneaking around? Not sure what you mean. And oh, sorry about that. It slipped from my hand, I would never throw anything like that on purpose at someone." More people were coming this way.

Nex only nodded and smile, staring at the woman for a time with his head cocked to the side, eating the rest of the fruit as he did so. After he had finished it, core and all, he just smiled and turned to walk away. He didn't say a word, simply walked away in search of something else to entertain him. He was surprised as a large amount of people had arrived, one in particular drawing his attention, or more specifically, what was on her back. He quickly zipped over to her, barely noticing the blonde man by her side as he stopped in front of her, bouncing on his feet and clapping his hands together, eyes wide with wonder and excitement. "Awesome, is that a cannon? Are you going to come help us? COOOOOOOOOOOOOL, your going to make the spider go 'BOOOOOOOOM' and splatter evrywhere in burning chunks and it'll be amazing! Can I touch, can I hold it, can I have it, I really want one. Wait, neve mind, just let me hold, all I need to do is hold it Where did you get it, tell me where, please, please, pleeeeeeeeaaaaaasssse?!?!" As he was jumping in place with excitement, Nex began to shapeshift unconsciously with each bounce, alternating between his original form, one of a small girl with blonde hair, a strange bipedal lizard creature with blue scales, another girl, this one much older and very voluptious, then starting all over again. "Oh, my name is Nex, Nex is me, I am Nex, what is your name?" Nex asked, remembering his manners at the last second.

New Torrea
Tsubasa
The lady knight seemed to completely miss his meaning. Or, if she had responded to it...he couldn't quite decipher it through the spiel about the monster. Was this mission just going to be some kind of test, to collect capable fighters? 'Nex' asked if he could give him a nickname. Tsubasa showed his teeth in an angry grimace. "No." he said simply. Quite frankly he thought the other fellow was insane. From his ragged clothes and general attitude, he must have been some kind of simpleton. What on earth had possessed him to try his hand at hunting monsters? Then people started crawling out of the woodwork. Tsubasa was hard pressed to analyze them all, his eyes darting back and forth rapidly. He stepped just far enough back to let that flying fruit the observant woman threw at them go past him--but it turned out he needn't have bothered, as Nex unleashed some sort of black magic in broad daylight. A mage? How could someone so seemingly mental have abilities like that? And he wasn't the only one. Another man materialized in a flash of blue fire, almost prompting Tsubasa to draw his sword. If he hadn't had so much to react to already slowing down his thought process, he would have likely cut the man in half. As it was, he managed to stop himself before his blade had cleared an inch from the sheath. Finally, the assassin gave a groan and crossed his arms. "It looks like you've got more than enough volunteers." he said to Hazael. "As this isn't my specialty, I'll withdraw for the moment. If you have another job that requires more...subtle skills, I'll be staying at the Dragonclaw Inn for a while. Ask for Kojiro." That was the fake name he was using at the moment, though he doubted the woman had any way of knowing that. He also had doubts as to whether she was going to see what he actually meant. As he turned and began to walk away, he sighed. If these people wanted Donat dead they were going to have to learn how to be discreet about it--and how to listen when people were being discreet to them.

Bristlebane was still shooting off questions when Yauan began to make good his escape, not going to let his prey escape that easily Bristlebane yanked his legs out of the vines and used the momentum to spring himself to his feet and quickly began chasing after the man. Unfortunately the man quickly vanished into the crowds and Bristlebane lost sight of him. He looked around frustrated, he seemed his quarry had eluded him... for now, but if he saw the man again he would sure that he wouldn't escape so easily. He never even learned his name. Finally he gave up and wandered around looking for the meeting spot for the adventure or whatever, he ended up stumbling into a small square that had a lot amount of armed people. Bristlebane happened to come towards the end of a conversation, "Boom?" he said both questioning and hopefully. He liked explosions almost as much as he liked magic.

Astarte & Hazael
Astarte just loved hearing someone calling him 'Sir', and someone who looked older than him at that. Ah, what a life was the military. Made him wonder why he didn't join earlier. Right, them trying to either cut their necks or get coin they didn't even have. He shook his head. He was turning into what he initially hated. It felt good, but bad at the same time. Turning into that... He most definitely didn't want that, given that they hurt his sister some times before.... He reached a conclusion. He spoke up, his ears getting red because of his embarrassment. "Drop the sir. Makes me feel like some kind of pompous idiot, and don't worry about the pay. Sis is funding this on her own... She somehow didn't want any kind of support from Donat. She's weird like that at times." Many would question the actions of their sister, but not Astarte. He was flustered before because he felt that the three of them, his sister, his brother, Kendrick, and him, were enough to dispatch the thing, but since it seemed his sister didn't think like that, he'd just go with it. His trust for his sister was blind, after all. "Ah! Assie! Over here! We are here!" After Hazael spotted his baby brother, she started shouting and waving at him, and Astarte wished she'd stop calling him that. He quickly hid the cigarrette he was smoking, so as to not let his sister get on on what she was doing, but her piercing gaze was already on him. Well, he was sure to be scolded later. He wasn't at the legal age for smoking, after all, and he had just picked on the habit because he thought it looked badass. More and more people had gathered around her, but Hazael didn't really mind after she saw his brother, mostly ignoring everyone else. She turned back and cleared her throat before addressing everyone's issues. Some of the guys around her seemed to already be making friends. "Great, great! It's always good to get to know each other, even if it is just for one job! Trust is indispensible in any kind of job, after all." After arriving to the group of people, Astarte put himself besides his sister, and Hazael herself chatted a bit with Salazar. "Salazar, great to see you here. I'm pretty sure you are here because of THAT, right?" Hazael knew the guy was a politician of sorts, but she wasn't sure whether he had received the info from Theana or not. She'd just say nothing for now. Which side he was on was unimportant right now, she'd strike him down regardless if he opposed them. Meanwhile, Astarte introduced himself to the group. "All right, people, I am Astarte Michaellis. The Defense of the Triumvirate, if you want too. We gathered you lot here to go on a hunting job necessary for the kingdom. We are hunting for an Arachnoblaster, I don't know how many of you know the specifics, but we are basically after its hard skin and durable silk. The type is an arthropod. It can spit fire out of its mouth, though it isn't venomous. We expect it to be alone, as it is a monster native of Nijiara that slipped by the border. It has been causing a bit of problems, but my sister here is the one who-" "You should really stop right now, Assie. You'll bore them to death before we actually get to the monster." Hazael said, giggling a bit. It seemed Kojiro had gotten fed up too with what was going on and was about to leave. Well, she actually got what he was trying to say, but she was trying to not be direct to, well, protect her ass, to be honest. The walls have ears, but now, with her brother by her side, she felt safer. It was something good that her other brother, with whom she had already discussed things with, was up in a roof, holding a bow and ready to snipe anyone suspicious. 'Well, time to drop the bomb, I guess' "Ah, all right, enough with the secretism. Anyone who saw that flier probably knows what's going on by now. That, or you couldn't care less about things like this. The Arachnoblaster part is true, we head out tomorrow to kill it. However, that monster is actually supposed to reach New Torrea alive." Not many would get what she said. Some may dismiss her as being paranoid, but it was most certainly real. "The thing is, if that monster gets to here alive, it'll trash everything around. It is being led around by a mage, so it should be alone. I fear that the mage leading it here is Klomos... Unfortunately for us, it seems our mage of the court has also turned against us. The moment it arrives here, a coup d'etat will take place. This information comes from Nijiara's Mage of the Court, Theana, and it is uncertain whether it is true or not. But... what other option do we have but believing it?" All that Hazael just said, would weigh heavily and all of those there. Heck, she was saying a coup d'etat was about to happen. Astarte himself couldn't believe what he was hearing, and just stood there with his mouth open. "I won't ask you to stay just because you've heard this. You can even turn around and go tell Donat I'm aware of what he is scheming, but one thing is sure, though. If we don't do anything, the king will be murdered, maybe also the princess, and we will be at Donat's mercy, and his idiotic plans for an expansion. I'm sure that anyone with half a brain here knows that it is the most stupid thing ever." She delivered her heavy words to the group before her. Whether they chose to believe or not was all up to them.

Forget learning discrepancy, she'd just murdered it in cold blood and broad daylight. Before he got a single step away from the group, Hazael dropped all pretenses and simply stated her plans to incite a complete and total civil war. Tsubasa sighed, looking up at the sky as if praying for patience, his hood finally dropping away to reveal his red hair in its true intensity, and his cold, narrow gaze that he now turned back upon the female knight. "You know what? Okay. Sure. I'll just go ahead and be crazy too." he muttered, before stepping back to the woman. "Look, if you want the whole root of this problem dead, for high ranking politicians my rate is two hundred thousand before expenses, half up front. Give me a week, and I'll give you Donat's head."

Bristlebane raised his hand akwardly, "I'm confused, We ARE killing a gaint spider or AREN'T killing a gaint spider?" That was a lot of talking and something about a chicken coup which had really thrown him off. Also he had been still wondering why a gaint spider could spit fire of its mouth, life really wasn't fair, how come some things got to spitfire and he didn't?
