Hmm... It seems a lot has happened since I last posted. Sorry about that, I had a lot of stuff going on and forgot about this almost entirely. I'll try to get back into this now. I'd volunteer for that.
Although I already have 3 player civs I'm busy with but let's see if I can handle a fourth.

Not to my knowledge. But since this is a galaxy spanning RP I dont think it's really too important as in something which just plays out on one planet.

I don't suppose there's some kind of political map up to show who all is where, is there?
I'm sorry to tell you the best you can get are the "character sheets" (civilization profiles).
They usually also give detail what kind of holdings each faction has.
But really, all factions are just tiny droplets in the starry sea of the Andromeda Galaxy so I don't think there's even a need.
The location of planets and the distance between them is also semi-intentionally left vague.
You can just pick your territory and at best claim it's close to X player's worlds.
