“Yeah.” Luka said with a small nod as he reached out hesitantly with his good arm and shook her hand gently. It was a strange gesture for him, he remembered it vaguely from when he was little but it wasn’t something he’d done in a long time. “You already told me most of that, I gathered the rest.” He informed her, listening to the last part of the story. Now he hadn't heard most of that and he didn’t know how long it would take for his wound to heal either. Shifting slowly he rolled his shoulder gently, attempting to access the damage.

The infection was probably the area of most concern for him. He gave her a very small smile for a moment before he looked out the window. “Don’t thank me for that.” He insisted when she attempted to thank him for saving her friend back across the wall. “I only asked Cade to let him go because of you. He quickly realised that didn’t make a lot of sense so clarified. “Right before that kid attacked me I asked you if you wanted to live or die. You said you wanted to live. If you had asked to die it would have turned out very differently. So in a way it was really you had saved him.”

He looked back out the window again, he could see the wall, this big looming shadow off in the distance. “Don’t worry, he understood. I told you, they understands us… well at least he understands me fine. I assume he can understand you too.” He eventually looked back to her before shifting and sliding out of the bed. The boy stood there for a little bit, testing his strength on his feet before looking to Jayna. “Don’t worry I’m gonna run off or anything. I just can’t stand sitting there like some sick thing.” This was the first time he’d been in the village since he’d been small, in all honesty he was kind of curious to see what it was like. His memories from back then were hazy at best.

Jayna smiled some as she had realized that she had said the story twice but she was nervous, she never had to care for someone on the level in which she was caring from him. His hand felt odd in hers mainly cause she didnt give or do handshakes often. Most everyone knew her in the village. There was no need for handshakes, he was one of the first ones that she had come across that hadnt known her. Even Sam knew her to some extent. She smiled a bit more as he stated there was no need for thanks and that he had acted upon her answer. "Well, I might of not seemed like it, but I do like life, even if it means going on without my family." She sighed some and fought the tears that threatened at the mention of her family. She pushed the thought away and then watched him as he tried to get up.

She too stood up as if ready to catch him or at least keep him from hitting his head on the way down had he fell. But it seemed he was doing rather good standing there. "Well, if you are feeling better maybe tomorrow night we can walk out there together to the wall. I wont leave you alone though. Not to you are back to full strength." She reached up and twirled a piece of her hair as she looked to him and then the door. "If he did understand he will be there tonight. But I will go tonight and tomorrow we can go together." She gave a slight smile again as if he she was sitting the rules.

"I dont think you would make it far, you still need the medicine." She stated as she moved from the doorway and headed to the kitchen. "So what would you like for dinner tonight? I am a pretty good cook. I learned alot from my mother." She stated and then glanced around the kitchen as if taking an inventory on what she could cook.

Personally Luka felt like Jayna was underestimating his abilities. He felt fine, yeah a little weak, maybe a little hot but certainly he knew he was strong enough to make it back to the wall. He didn’t think it a good idea to go back just yet because he still needed to stay close to receive treatment. At the moment he was just looking around the house, lost in taking it all in. He tried to remember his own house, but he couldn’t. It was all a frustrating blur to him. As it was he wasn’t really sure what most of this stuff was even supposed to be for.

Out beyond the wall the only shelter he had or needed was his den with Cade, which served its use fine. They usually ate their food fresh, since daemons had no problem digesting pretty much anything. His stomach wasn’t nearly as resilient but he’d learnt that he could eat the raw meat just fine. So the word ‘cook’ had absolutely no meaning to him whatsoever. In reality a lot of Jayna’s words made no sense to him. He had learnt all the words as a child, so knew they were words but connecting them to objects was something he struggled with.

As it was he left her to whatever she was doing as he explored her house, trailing his hands along many of the nameless objects. When he reached the front door he opened it and blinked slightly as sunlight streamed it. The outside world was still very white, though the snow around here had been padded down due to many feet walking over it. The village itself was even more interesting than the house. He had seen it many times from the wall, but it was different up close. Forgetting about his host the boy walked out into the open, eager to explore the place that was once his home.

Jayna smiled a bit but it quickly faded as she heard no response. She sighed some and then stepped out of the kitchen and looked into the room where she had left him. Well, damn, where would he have gone. The doctor said he should be resting still and that it would take a few days on the medicine to start healing and correcting the infection that had gotten into his system. Sighing some she began to search the house. "Luka.. Luka.." She called out through the house but with no luck on finding him.

Soon she found herself in the living room and the door was slightly ajar, did he go out it. He shouldnt of, the village did not know him and if they found out about he could be in danger. Many have lost a close friend or family because of the curious ones who have ventured over the wall. Without any thought she opened the door letting it slowly close as she walked outside and looked each way trying to spot him. Surely it wouldnt be that hard as it was he would stand out, not being like them.

She looked around the house and then sighed some when she still didnt see him. She then looked to the snow and began to follow the freshest footprints, in hopes this would lead her to him. She worried about his safety and how the village might react to a boy they didnt know wondering the village especially after Sam was attacked like he had been. "Luka.." She called out in hopes he might hear his name and pause or give her a chance to catch up or find him at least.
