Okay, so I've been binging M*A*S*H for the last few weeks on Netflix with no intention of stopping. I LOVE THIS SHOW OKAY. BUT I AM ONLY AT THE START OF THE FOURTH SEASON :/

Anyway I was wondering if anyone else feels my joy/pain and loves this show too.

For those of you who don't know it, M*A*S*H is a very old sit-com style show (made in the 70's) based in an American MASH (Mobile Army Surgical Hospital) unit in the Korean War. The story centres around an endearing cast of doctors, nurses, various enlisted men and many others who frequent the area. It's a hilarious, touching and surprisingly progressive show for the time period. If you like any of that then I highly recommend it. I'll even throw in an adorable 19 year old clerk named Radar and a certain Mr. Corp. Klinger who wears a dress better than I do.

PLEASE TELL ME SOMEONE OUT THERE KNOWS WHAT I'M GOING THROUGH HERE

I've been watching the show since I was a little kid because my parents loved it so I grew up with it.

@HeySeuss Nice. It was my grandfather's favourite. He has dementia now, and I remember my uncle playing it in his hospital room.

There's this station that showed up in the past couple of years that airs old tv shows. Most didn't catch my fancy, but M*A*S*H sure did.

I've watched all the way through Season 7, the start of Season 8, and the finale (long story short - college didn't get the channel, then started working). Godspeed to you, fellow fan.

I used to watch M*A*S*H with my mom when I was much younger. I do remember that it was quite funny. I should watch it from the very beginning.

I love M*A*S*H, it was a fantastic show with a great overall cast and had that wonderful mix of serious drama and realism, as well as light comedic talent. I hardly find people who haven't watched it or at least know of it. I still think it's relevant even in today.

I watched it when I was a kid. Definitely a classic, very well written for its time.

It's absolutely relevant, I think! I love how it doesn't sugar-coat the war, even though it's a comedy.

Id say it's very well-written, period. ^_^

It was written about Korea because the Vietnam War was still ongoing at the time so TV avoided overtly taking a side...yet, MASH was pretty close to doing just that. The historical context is really that movies critical of Vietnam didn't happen until 1979 or so with "Apocalypse Now." MASH predates that (particularly the movie with Elliot Gould and Donald Sutherland) by a longshot. The only other "Vietnam" movie of the era was The Green Berets with John Wayne in 1968, and that was a love letter to the war.
