Clay Finnegan

What's your name?

Clay. If it's like, y'know, a formal-type name, like for a form or some shit, then Clay Finnegan. Middle initial J. Most people call me Clay, 'cept for Mrs. Silver, she calls me C.J. I think it's retarded. Who the fuck wants to be called letters, y'know? What son-of-a-bitch sits down like 'Hey, I'm gonna name my kid A.J, or O.K, or T.Q' or some dumb hippie shit? Anyway, off-topic. Name's Clay.

How old are you?

I have to answer this? I'm, uh, nineteen, actually. But before you say some shit like 'Ohh, nineteen-year old in high school, must be one dumb motherfucker', just, like, quiet for a second, okay? I get that I'm dumb, but I don't like hearin' 'bout it. I got held back twice. First time was 'cause I didn't go to school, second time was for fighting. Anyway, off-topic too. Nineteen. Sorry.

What do you look like?

Other than what you see? Iunno. I'm not good at descriptive-ity. People say I look kinda dirty. Not in the sex way. The bath way. I look like a guy with scars on his hands and brown eyes like mud. I keep my hair short so ain't nobody can grab it. I'm not that tall, I'm I think, 5'7, but I'm the scrappiest guy I know. Ain't never lost a fight. I dress in whatever's cheap, which is usually just jeans and button-ups and sweaters and wifebeaters and shit like that. I own a pair of boots and a pair of sneakers, but I only wear boots if it's snowing. Too many guys around my school think they become some kinda badass if they wear boots all the time, or keep the sticker on their caps and shit, and I think they all look like cocksuckers. Off-topic too, my bad. Anyway, long-story short, I look like me.

Do you have any hobbies?

Like, impressive ones? Sometimes I write songs about stuff, except, in my head. But they're more like, poems and shit, y'know? I remember them though. I have good memory. I like movies too, especially Lord of The Rings and Marvel and shit. Fantasy stuff. Do those count as hobbies too? Yeah? Fuckin' A. Also, I probably shouldn't mention it, but I like to box. Like, you could say 'Clay likes fighting', but except without like, choking or kicking or other shit. I like it 'cuz it's like a sport, y'know? I mean, it is a sport, but, it's also like, like it has points and strategies and shit. Like chess.

What are some things that you especially dislike?

Teachers. Classmates. School and teachers and classmates and shit, mostly. Everybody treats me like some retard, they talk slow to me like I don't speak English. I don't understand most of what they teach either, so I mostly cheat or guess or make up excuses. I don't like school, and I been thinking of dropping out and working. I ain't have no skills, but, y'know, I still got two legs. I could shovel shit for all I care instead of dealing with everybody at school. I don't like school, not a bit.

What are your goals for the future? Both immediate and long-term.

None. Does that sound sad? I dunno. I just don't have many options. I can't stand school. I'm too dumb for scholarships, I'm too fuckin' poor to buy my ticket into college. I was born in a trailer, and I'mma probably die in one too. I guess the only goal I got is just, not being where I am now. That make sense? I wanna be a guy who's got like, a girl, and a dog, and a house. Maybe a kid. Dunno yet. Kids are sticky. You ever go to someone's house and they got kids? Everything is fucking sticky.

What's your home life like? Specifically, what is your relationship like with your parents?

Eh? It's actually pretty alright. I never knew my dad, Dennis, because he got locked up before I was borned, and whenever he gets out he usually goes right back in. He sends a little bit of cash every now and then, so that's alright of him I guess. My mom's pretty nice. She's a battle-axe, but she's alright. She's the toughest bitch in the park. One time, we had this neighbor for a while who got all hopped up on angel dust, and he tried breaking in. I was too little to do nothin', but she answered the door and smashed a bottle across his jaw. She's tough, man. Tougher than me. She says nice stuff sometimes, and that makes my days better.

What's your favorite animal, and why?

Naked mole rats are some badass things, man. Think about it. Naked mole rats barely feel pain, can't get cancer, and act like bugs with a queen and soldiers and shit. They even fight snakes. They can bite through dirt and rocks and whatever too. Basically, they're, like, little shriveled up superhumans. Imagine what a 6-foot long naked mole rat would look like? I'd ride it to battle and shit. Man. Naked mole rats are the fuckin' bomb. I bet if we made, like, an alligator-sized naked mole rat, it'd be like, the dominant species and shit. Like Planet of The Apes, but, with naked mole rats. Planet of The Naked Mole Rats.

Favorite color?

Real talk, yellow. Think about it. Star Trek, boom. Command yellow. Y'know who wore yellow? The best characters, that's who. Kirk. Data. Worf. All yellowshirts. Outside of Star Trek, all the best things are yellow. Baratheon? Yellow. The sun? Yellow. Butter? Yellow. Gold? Yellow. Flowers can be yellow too. It's a happy color, too. Ain't nobody gonna wear a yellow shirt and tell you some sad fuckin' shit. When I have bad days I sometimes like to draw, like, happy stuff. Don't tell nobody that. I'll smack the soul right out of you, I swear to fucking Christ. Anyway, yeah. Sometimes I like to draw happy stuff like sunrises or birds, and that makes me feel better.

Do you identify with any song or piece of music?

You like Eminem? I do. Eminem's my shit, man. He has this song on his new album I like, and it samples "Time of The Season". I forget the name, but he talks about his dad a lot. Good song.

Do you believe in aliens?

Yes. Next question. Oh, we done? That's cool too.

Clay's Relationships

Keira

Keira's alright. My mom knew her mom when they were young, so then they wanted us to be friends 'cause they had us 'round the same time. We grew up knowin' each other, but I wouldn't call us, like, friends or nothin'. Sometimes I don't get what she's sayin'. She's too fuckin' smart. Like, Deep Blue smart. Like, her dad is a TI-82 Smart. Super fuckin' smart is what I'm sayin'. Anyway. She gives me rides from time to time when it's too snowy to walk back to the park, so I owe her favors. One time I fixed her kitchen cabinet's door, though, so I'm not a total moocher, y'know? So anyway, Keira. She's okay.

Kimmy
My Kimmy? She's the greatest, top notch chick. Seriously, she's probably my only friend. Iunno what I'd do without her, but don't tell her that. Can I smoke here? No? Didn't think so, that's alright. She's great, man. She's got these two little brothers, they always draw me little pictures with me and them in 'em. They call me their big brother. Can you imagine that shit? Two beautiful little oriental rugrats lookin' atcha, tryin' to impress you with swear words and shit? Getting off track. Kim hates it when I teach 'em swears. I taught Ha-eun "Motherfucker" the other day, and she says "Materfaga".

It's precious. Getting off track, sorry. So Kim is my best friend, we hang out all the time. We go everywhere together, her mom trusts me so much that sometimes she lets me crash on their couch. She's like one of the guys, 'cause she can curse and fix cars and shit. The only thing she don't do is smoke, she hates when I do that and she flicks the cherry onto my face. You see this scar under my eye? Her. Anyway. My Kimmy's the best, hands-down. Give her a high five.

Zasha
Fuck that guy. Last year, I get in a fight with his friend Josh. Y'know what this motherfucker does? Gets in the way, tries to end it, and puts his hands on me. So I start swinging at him, and the deans seperated us, and they made us sign some shit and say we won't fight or grill each other or start no shit. I didn't even read it. We both got suspended for three weeks, but because i already missed two months, that meant I'd have to repeat the year. And here I am, a fuckin' junior again.

Anyway, we're supposed to be nice and shit, especially because we're in the same grade now. I still remind him that Clay ain't no bitch from time to time. I like to get creative with him, though. One time, I got a wasp into his locker with some sugarwater and a straw. Other times I don't get creative, and I just dump his gym clothes in the hallway. Finnegans don't take shit, y'know? Trouble is, sometimes this punk likes it, chuckles and calls it clever and shit. I don't even think it's reverse-drive psychology neither, y'know? Whatever. He thinks we can just be buddies and does that fuckin' finger-gun thing. The fuckin' finger guns! Like he's some, some fuckin' "Sunday, Monday, Happy Days" guy! Who fuckin' does that shit? Fuck that dude, man. If he's listening tell him I said that.

Josh

Are they listenin' right now? Josh is that dude that started the whole thing. I was smoking by the track field, and he shoots me a look and says somethin', so I punched him. In retrospect, I've come to realize that this was my bad. Therapists and shit talkin' to me for a week of suspension. Anyway, his friend Zasha gets in between, and then the whole suspension year repeat bullshit happened.

Fuck that guy too. I don't give as much of a shit about him, because he doesn't try that friendship horseshit. Sometimes I'll shoulder check him or just give him the look when he walks by, but I don't mind 'em that much ever since I spoke with Mrs. Llana about the anger thing I mentioned, how it was my bad. I just don't wanna look like some bitch who forgives people, y'know?

Gili

Don't know, don't care. Went out with Kimmy in like, freshman year. Other than that, she's just kinda bitchy.

kim ha-sun "kimmy"
What's your name?

If you need to know so badly: my name is Kim Ha-sun. Most of the kids at school call me Kim or Kimmy, sure; you didn't ask me what the kids call me. Maybe we should think about the questions we really want to ask before we ask others, hmm? That was a rhetorical question, sweetie. Try to keep up.

How old are you?

You know? My mom told me to hit anyone who ever asked that question. But it's been kind of a long day, so I'll go easy on the aggravated assault. For now. I'm 17. I'm a junior at the high school a few blocks from my apartment building. I switched schools and countries and languages when I was eight years old-- I'd like to see you learn math with words you'd never heard before, how to make sentences with symbols you've only ever seen on television and... could you imagine some other third thing, here? You're a doll, thanks.

What do you look like?

My mother cuts my hair, first of all; if you have a problem with the bowl-cut bangs I'm rocking, you go ahead and make sure her name is on the letterhead. I don't particularly mind her doing it; it saves money. It gives us a chance to catch up, at least. She's... busy.

But, uh. I'm... tall. I suppose you wouldn't know from the slouching, but I'm 5'8". Lanky, you could say? I don't really exercise. Between my twin kid sisters, school, and working at Pete's? It's amazing I can even find the time to stuff my bra in the morning. Not that I stuff my bra. I haven't done that since I was, like, 12. Since... Since I was... 13? Fine. Since last year. Whatever. I'm flat chested; we're moving on.

I get cold pretty easy-- tend to bundle up. Like, everything I own is covered in a thin layer of motor oil stains, or grease stains, or dirt stains. Most days I'll just throw a big sweater on over whatever shirt manages to pass a sniff test and scuttle through the door.

I was born in South Korea. I'm Koran, like the rest of my family. I have? Black hair, I guess. Brown eyes. I know my hair and eye color; I'm not hesitating because I don't. I'm hesitating because I'm really not sure why you care. Do you... get off on this? Or something? Because, seriously? Ew.

Do you have any hobbies?

I help out at the local Meals on Wheels, if that's what you're wondering. Elderly people are always a good time. Always have something interesting to say-- you might too, if you were alive for so long.

I can't technically volunteer, some policy about school students not being allowed to work during "school hours", even on holiday. The whole thing's beyond stupid, but there's nothing I can do about it. My mom isn't exactly clamoring to help me put up a stink, either. She doesn't need me monopolizing our old Saturn any more than I already do.

I like machines. Cars. Bikes. Whatever it is: you name it, and I'll tool around with it. Machines just... make sense. They work. They're not complicated or mysterious, you know? Every part has a function, and when all the parts do that function, everything just works.

Reading is nice. Doesn't really matter what I read about, as long as it's nonfiction. Only exception to that is science fiction; the twins love when I read to them, and they love aliens, so? I kind of have to like it.

What are some things that you especially dislike?

I hate frogs. Mostly because the twins love them. And insist on bringing them into the house. And into my room. And leaving them on my bed. They do that with most animals they can get their grimy little mits on, now that I think about it? But the frogs are the worst. I don't even understand how they can catch the things. They're witches, probably.

Otherwise? I hate trains. Loud, ugly machines. The new ones aren't so bad, but the ones by our old apartment complex? Disgusting.

People who try to speak to me in broken mandarin-- and who don't realize asia isn't a country? Don't. Fudging. Start. Same with people who ask if I ever don't wear a scarf, or who "stole my tits"... I need to fix something. Or... throw a wrench through a window or something. Ugh.

What are your goals for the future? Both immediate and long-term.

I'd really like to work with the elderly, but there's nothing that really pays well for that. And, see, I kind of have this thing where I actually want to be useful to my family at some point. So? Just making it out of high school would be nice. I test well. Have decent SAT scores-- better than decent, if we're talking about math or science. But really? I'm more focused on the twins getting out of school than me. So.

Dating? Never much thought about it. Mom insists there must be someone I'm interested in, but the pool of girls looking to date other girls isn't exactly huge around here, and I can't really imagine getting all invested in someone who's just gonna laugh at the idea and then sail me down the rumor mill.

What's your home life like? Specifically, what is your relationship like with your parents?

My father walked out on our family when I was seven years old; I can only ever remember having the one parent. My mom. It's just as well, if you ask me. He was an animal. Everyone always said I looked like him-- that I talked like him? But they never saw the way he really talked. I'd never treat anyone the way he treated... other people. Like? Do I look like an animal? Seriously. Again with the rhetoric. Pay attention if you're gonna ask all these invasive questions.

My mom works a lot. She takes care of my younger twin sisters and I. My older sister is in college in... Canada, I think? She might be studying abroad, at this point. She comes back for Christmas and her birthday. Not that we celebrate either of those... we're not a Celebrate-y kind of family. Don't need to be. We're happy. We love each other. Yeah, it's... hard to make dinner, sometimes, but we manage.

What's your favorite animal, and why?

The spotted hyena has always been my favorite. I thought they were dogs when I was little; I wanted one for our apartment. I loved the way they giggled as they ran away from danger. And that they don't take any guff from humans. Of course most of the stories of hyenas with "tastes for human flesh" are exaggerations or flat out, like, fabrications; that doesn't make me appreciate the notion any less.

...okay, that's not exactly true. But the way they chase off cheetahs or other predators? Taking what they want? I don't know. I hate it in people, but in animals? It's kind of... neat.

Favorite color?

Hands down, rose. A pretty, warm pink. Nothing washed out and sad, like those crayons you get as a kid. It's the color we painted my desk. And... also our bathtub. The twins got it so in their hair while we were painting. Mom laughed. I... was less laughing. Did not laugh at all, in fact. I was too busy trying to wash the twins.

Do you identify with any song or piece of music?

I like the violin. Wish I could play it; you've got to start that kind of thing young. Most cello pieces I'll enjoy, too, but... connect with? I can't say so much. Not off the top of my head.

Do you believe in aliens?

Is this Ha-eun? Ha-Nui? They keep trying to get me to agree with them that they're out there, or that I want-to-believe, or whatever? But I don't. I don't believe in aliens. Yeah, yeah. Call me a spoilsport. Bring it on. It's nothing the twins haven't sung at me before. Do your worst.

kimmy's relationships
Keira

Keira, huh. She helped me with my English last year-- NHS has this tutor thing and... yeah, I needed a little help with the language most colleges I'm going to apply to generally accept submissions in. I could kick a butt up and down a submission in Hangul. Which, I'd wager, is a lot more than you can say.

But uh, I think she knew Clay. Knew of him, anyway; that's not really saying much. I wouldn't really call Erie big. Her hands didn't exactly look like they'd seen a lot of work beyond data entry. Or typing or... whatever it's called.

Mom told me not to speak ill of people who've gone out of their way to help you-- but I don't think it's ill, exactly, to say that I can't envision a situation where I'd really fancy spending more than a few hours with her. Or be able to stand it. Same difference.

Clay

He'd never believe me if I or if anyone else told him, but just between us? Clay's a good guy.

Don't get me wrong-- he's abrasive. He's too quick to throw a punch for his own good. Too eager to assert whatever alpha dog, bully, muck-with-me-and-I'll-kill-you persona he thinks he's obligated to shove on for the people that expect it of him. But... he always smiles when the twins give him a picture-- always tells them how good it is. He says they're getting better at drawing than he is, which they just eat up.

We're... close. Friends I guess, if you're going to make me put a name on it.

No, I'm not biased. He's... good to the girls. They like him. Don't act so surprised. He's not hardly the most awful guy in the world to hang out with. He doesn't go all space-cadet when I try to talk at him about the lousy transmission of the old Dodge Ms. Fjord keeps brining in to the shop-- doesn't mind getting his hands dirty with me at the dump when I have to scavenge for parts to fix the Saturn. He walks me to work.

My mom thinks he's a sweet kid-- calls him a cowboy. I don't know if she knows his real name... yeah. I said friends. No. We're not dating. I never said anything about dating. I told you I wasn't interested in that mess, remember? Are you seriously still not paying attention?

We're just... good friends. Best friends. Try listening for once when I say it, numbskull. Friends.

Gili

Gili? Why do you care? Did your barn-raising never involve the lesson: mind your own business? Whatever. Gili. They... used to help out with my English tutoring. They filled in for Keira, mostly.

What? Who told you that? You're not wrong-- it's just weird that you know we dated. I forget sometimes. God. That was back in... freshman year? Maybe some of sophomore summer. I can't remember when I broke it off.

No, no. That's-- it wasn't anything they did... think more along the lines of stuff they didn't do. It never got serious, serious. They weren't serious enough for that. That was the problem. They take everything as a jokes. You know the type. They never wanted to talk about their family, or my family... never anything without making a laugh at it.

It's their fault the twins like that Axe Files junk. Totally age unappropriate.

We're not... not friends, I guess. I'm not going to excuse Gili-- not for the lying to me. But I don't resent them. I don't have time for that. And really? I don't think it was... malice. I don't think they really know how to be malicious.

I don't see Gili much since I stopped having scheduled tutoring sessions; the twins ask about them sometimes.

Zasha

The kid's a pain. Most of our interactions come down to hurling the verbal equivalent of a javelin across the quad, hoping it winds up lodged in a rib. But, like, nonlethally... most of the time. Most of the time, nonleathally.

He's got bizzare opinions about pizza and ranch. Not bad: bizzare. Bizzare opinions? Okay. He's bizzare in general. Likes making a show of butchering a language he understands perfectly well, just to be an antagonistic little mole.

I'd say he's not important enough to think about at all, but the whole word-javelin thing? He's as good as throwing back as what he gets-- usually. At the very least he's pretty good for spicing up an otherwise eye-gouging-would-be-preferable English lesson.

Josh

Josh... Joshua. You're talking about Segel kid, right? The gridiron one. The football one. I don't really know him. Not personally. Different grades-- different spheres, or whatever. Seems more the type to hang around a Keira than the resident greasemonkey, don't you think? Rhetorical.

I think I've seen him once or twice down at the Meals on Wheels office? Could be wrong, though. Every kid in a lettermen tends to look the same to me. The most I know about the kid is that he and Clay had words. The way Clay tells it, Segel started it, and he finished it. I think the wording was: "I practically self-defended." ...Clay says that about most fights-- most word exchanges. It's probably best to take that with a tablespoon of salt.

I can't say much about the fight itself-- I wasn't there. What I can say is that anyone who pulls the deans into their own schoolyard tussles probably needs bigger Huggies and a nap; I don't much feel like looking into adult diapers Segel's size.

Zasha Vasiliev
What's your name?

Zasha Vasiliev. Zasha, not Sasha. It's Russian, and no it's not a girl's name. If you want to just call me some nickname because the whole Zasha-Sasha thing is too hard for you, go ahead.

How old are you?

Y'know I thnk I forgot? I barely think about when I was born or when my birthday is until it comes up once a year. Then I just forget about it again. Lesse... I'm pretty sure I'm seventeen, turning eighteen once my b-day rolls around. Probably.

What do you look like?

I'm average height, I think. Maybe a little on the tall side, I don't really keep track. I think five-foot-ten sounds right. I'm average weight, but I look pretty lean because of how lanky my arms and legs are. It's kind of a pain, never have any leg room so I tend to put my feet up if I can. Usually people complain about that, but I couldn't really care if I tried. Anyways, I guess in terms of facial features I look like your average dude. Straight nose, kinda pointy chin, high cheekbones, thin lips, round hazel eyes. I'm told they sometimes look really green, but they usually look just plain brown when I think to glance in a mirror. I got long brown hair, hangs a bit past the shoulders. Personally? I really love my hair. It's super soft and fluffy, and has kind of a wavy thing going on when I don't have it pulled back in a ponytail. Although when it gets humid my hair goes kinda super-fluff and looks ridiculous and gets in the way. Other than that, I guess I might be a bit androgynous looking overall? I think I look plenty obviously like a dude, and maybe it's just the hair and name, but a lot of folks seem to have a hard time with it.

Do you have any hobbies?

All kinds of stuff, really. I watch tv, read books, play games. Mostly video games, but I'm a big fan of board games and card games too. I like to read and watch stuff on the internet, but I don't really participate in any forums or anything like that. Not too into most team sports, but I dig stuff like boxing and martial arts. Terrible old kung-fu movies are some of my favorites, and I've been participating in school and local gym boxing clubs for awhile now. Not the best at it by far, but I give as good as I get usually. It helps that I'm stronger than I look, especially for my weight class.

What are some things that you especially dislike?

Flying bugs. Crawling ones are fine, and hell rolly-polly's are kind of cute if you ask me. Ants are kind of assholes though, you can't tell me they don't understand territory. They can be outside all they want, but they need to keep out of my house. Anyways, flying bugs are the worst by far. I don't know what it is, but they seem to have it out for me. Bees, flies, butterflies even, are constantly getting up in my face. Literally. Other than that, I don't have any patience for stupidity and I really dislike people who don't even try to get someones name right. It's one thing if its some hard sound you never make, or it's written so you aren't sure how it's said, but it shouldn't be that big a deal once they correct you on it. I also really dislike bland food, like plain oatmeal or pepperoni pizza. The worst though is cheese pizza, which is sadness incarnate. Outside of those things I tend to be pretty chill and open minded, though.

What are your goals for the future? Both immediate and long-term.

Immediately, pretty much just to do the whole school thing and enjoy the stuff I like to do. Long term, I'm not really sure. Maybe pursue the boxing thing, or figure out some other job. There isn't really anything career wise thats struck my interest yet.

What's your home life like? Specifically, what is your relationship like with your parents?

Right now? It's pretty good if you ask me. We've had a lot of ups and downs, been pretty broke before. Used to move every other year, sometimes every year. Been here for about two years though. I like it here, so I'm hoping it'll stick. Anyways, as for my family, it's just me and my folks. Both of them have night shift jobs, and they transferred around a lot. I mostly took care of myself when a babysitter wasn't, and I didn't really get to spend much time with them when I was a kid. Once I was old enough to look after myself though, things kinda settled down into a pretty chill if kinda oddball parents-son friendship. Sometimes we're more like really close roommates than family, but not in a bad way if you ask me.

What's your favorite animal, and why?

Man that's kind of a hard call. Other than flying bugs, I really like most things. I'd definitely have to narrow it down to the fluffy ones, though. I guess I'd have to say Cats, mostly because it's the only kind of pet I've ever had.

Favorite color?

I really like purple. Not the lighter one that's usually called purple, but that deeper kind of royal purple shade.

Do you identify with any song or piece of music?

Not really, to be honest. I like music just fine, but I've never really been one for identifying with songs or characters or whatnot. I just enjoy it for what it is.

Do you believe in aliens?

I don't disbelieve in them, if that makes any sense. I don't know there aren't any aliens, just that we haven't found any in the places we've looked. At least, assuming nobody is lying about that, which is a whole other issue. I'm not really a conspiracy theorist type, more the... You can only ever be 99% sure type. Anyone who says they're 100% sure on anything is kind of an idiot if you ask me.

Zasha's Relationships
Keira Crowell

The hell is Keira Crowell? Oh, is that the girl with the hunchback? Or was her name Karen? Eh, beats me. Either way, I don't think I know her. Might have seen her around school or something, but I've seen pretty much everyone around school. That's kind of how school works.

Clay Finnegan

Clay? Ah yeah, that guy's a joker. Sorta anyways. He's actually kind of a grump? Dude seems to like pranks, though, so he's gotta have a sense of humor. Sometimes his pranks fall a little flat or are just annoying, but he's pulled some really good ones. Never see him prank anyone else, come to think of it. Weird. Anyways, the dude isn't half bad if you ask me. He gets a lot of flak from folks for being a bit grumpy, kinda dense, and broke as hell. Honestly, been pretty broke myself before so I can understand why he might be a bit grumpy. He apparently got held back a year for... I think it was a fight or something? I don't really remember, to be honest. He can be kind of a dick sometimes, so I wouldn't be surprised if he got in trouble for fighting with someone. Anyways, other than at school I tend to see him at the gym. Only on free days, because of that whole broke as hell thing. Usually he tries to just be all grumpy and do his thing off by himself, but if everyone else is all paired up I'll usually pester him into doing some boxing warmups or a light spar. Dude is a pretty good boxer if you ask me, so he definitely can't be as dumb as people seem to think. I'm pretty sure it's just people getting hung up on how he talks. Although, every now and then Clay will have like, a zen moment of crystallized stupidity and I just can't help but sass the hell out of him. It's all in good fun, though.

Kim Ha-Sun

Kimmy was one of the first people I met when I started going to school here. She showed me around on my first day, and I remember at lunch I gave her some advice on how to make the terrible cafeteria pizza better. Anyways the chick is pretty snarky, which is a lot of fun. We don't really hang out that much, but we share a few classes. For the most part we banter a lot, not really about anything in particular. She's gotten some pretty good zingers on me, since she's got a pretty sharp wit working for her. I got a few of her buttons down, though, for when I feel like messing with her. See, she has kind of a hard time with english because english is a pretty stupid language sometimes. So sometimes I'll start saying stuff like "Unpossible" instead of "Impossible" and she'll get all flustered and sometimes start using the wrong word herself and it's pretty great. The best part is she can't really call me out for it since it technically means the same thing.

Josh Segel

Josh is my neighboor, actually. Me and my folks moved in next door two years back, met him on the way to school once. We started chatting and the like. After a week or so of that, we were officially friends I guess. He's a pretty good guy. Dude's really into FOOBAW as he calls it, and that's fair enough I guess. Not really my thing, but we have some other similar interests to talk about. He's a bit too talky sometimes though. Not socially, but in terms of action. I'm plenty friendly myself but sometimes what a situation needs to get resolved is a good punch upside the head. Sometimes literally if the situation is someone being a dick.

Gili J. Rose

Ah yeah, Gili! We don't hang out much, and I think I've caught a glimpse of that hair at school or around town like once. Every now and then, though, I'll pop through an alley or something for a shortcut and run into them. They like to spray paint buildings and stuff, except it's actually artsy stuff. Not the usual stupid shit gang taggers do. Personally, it makes the place less boring looking. There's nothing quite as dull as plain concrete or brick buildings all in a row. They could at least paint them different colors. Anyways, Gili does good stuff. Usually while Gili is doing their painting thing and we're chatting it up, I'll try out some of the crazy shit I've seen in some martial art flicks. Doesn't usually go too well, to be honest! Damn near break my ass every time. I know it's possible though because stuntmen do it, and some of those actors do it themselves even. Jackie Chan, yo! Hell, I've even seen stuff online of random people doing it. I think they call it parka? That doesn't sound right, actually. Huh. Well, they call it something like that in any case. But yeah, we both usually get a good laugh out of it. Fun times and all that.

npcs & shit.

the kim family
Kim "Sue" Hyun-sook 40 waitress, cleaner Mother stubborn, lonely, goofy, compassionate #1e62f4
Mrs. Kim never officially divorced from her husband, but she'd never call herself married. She's easily frazzled-- a little cloud-brained-- and not the best with english, but she means well. She and her family might nto be very well off; she's never regretted her girls.

Kim "Sunny" Sun-hee 21 grad school student Older sister restless, industrious, stubborn #d70230
Sunny's determined to get a PhD in molecular virology. She's completed an accelerated program for her BS, and shot straight into grad school. Everyone keeps telling her she's going to burn herself out; she concedes that they probably aren't wrong. She just doesn't care.

Kim Ha-eun 12 middle school student Younger sister impish, courageous, bossy #3cc408
Kimmy's second youngest sister. She's the one constantly getting the rest of her family and herself in trouble. She was the only one of the Kim family to get detention in grade school-- she punched a kid on the playground. It should go without saying that Clay is her idol.

Kim Ha-nui 12 middle school student Younger sister shy, impish, optimistic #f0a308
Kimmy's youngest sister. She tends to fall in line behind her older identical twin, ha-eun. She's usually the first of the two to point out when something's a bad idea. She's by and far the "voice of reason" of the twins-- maybe even of the whole Kim family.

the finnegan clan
Bunny Finnegan 33 Seamstress Clay's Mother Tough, Caring, Absent-Minded #448800
Bunny works as a seamstress at a dry cleaning store, although a fair amount of the money she brings home is sent by Dennis, Clay's estranged father. Although she remains on fairly good terms with her former lover, she tends to view the search for companionship as a more important task than parenting.

Sam "Smacky" Finnegan 22 Unemployed Clay's cousin Paranoid, Unhinged #00ff00
Clay's schizophrenic cousin Smacky operates on a plane different than most humans. After making contact with a "godlike super-energy" after a condom of ketamine he had been smuggling opened up, Smacky has devoted his life to opening the consciousness of his fellow humans through a strange form of meditation. He wears a jerkied piece of his own skin on a chain around his neck.

the vasiliev family
Darina "Dasha" Vasiliev 33 ER Nurse Mother workaholic, playful, worrywart #ee82ee
Mama Vasiliev has never been to Russia herself, but her parents were born and raised there. This is why she got married and had Zasha at the young age of 16. She has two modes, a Work mode and a Home mode. She easily becomes stir crazy if she has too many days off in a row. Because of her work as an ER Nurse, she is extremely paranoid about her family being injured by gangs or accidents.

Vladimir "Vasha" Vasiliev 34 ER Security Father dutiful, stern, moral #8a2be2
Papa Vasiliev was born in Russia, but moved to america when he was a child. His marriage to his wife was actually arranged by their parents, but they were luckily a good enough fit for each other. He is a very stoic man, but this is a result of simply not being a outwardly expressive individual as he cares for his family very much. His intimidating presence and stony mannerisms have led to him being an excellent security guard, capable of staring down the most threatening of patients.

██████ "gili j. rose" █████
What's your name?

This is important so you better lock it up tight-- my name is Gili J. Rose; essentially something that's so well sewn together that it makes disney princesses tremble enviously... No, but really, it's kind of poetic inn'it? Hard 'g' by the way, plenty of people tend to say 'jilly' when it... Isn't. Also, if you're really dying about what exactly it is that the 'J' stands for, I could let you in on what I call my most well kept secret! ... It's essentially a stand in for jjjjjjump straight off a cliff. You really didn't think it would be that easy, did you? Every hero's gotta have their secrets! Eheh.

How old are you?

Depends on who you ask, really. My birthday is actually pretty early so technically speaking I'm eighteen, but, seeing as those around me are still in the seventeen age bracket, I tend to smudge things around a bit and fit myself in there. I'm not really fond of thinking about people mistaking me for some dumbo who couldn't put two plus two together. So for all intents and purposes, just go with the latter... It just makes everyone's life easier, yea?

What do you look like?

Okay, so I probably blinded you what with my being the next big thing on the red carpet of life-- let's not sue. Friends don't sue friends, okay? Friend? I rock most things that I try, from big jackets to tank-tops, pencil skirts to sweatpants, you name it I make it. Make it look good. By being in it. Because I am that good. You got that, right? Sure you did. Apart from fashion I tend to groove down a route more unique. A pull away from the drab everyday sights you can see every time you poke your head out of a car window.

The first thing people notice about me is my hair-- you like the cerise color? Yeah, that's what it's called. Cerise. Cute name for a color, that belongs on a cute person. So here I am with it! And before you ask, this is one of those situations where the curtains actually don't match the drapes. Typically I'll change the curtains up every couple of months but I've taken a liking to this color in particular, so, for now it's gunna stay.

You're not likely to miss it since I'm about 5'6"-- not too short, but not too tall either. A good mix of both I'd say; you'd be able to pick me out in a crowd at least. The person with pink hair and love-handles down aisle 3 row B subsection a-2, you get the gist here. I'm not the skinniest alright, I'll admit that much. You'd think from hopping fences and doing some serious climbing I would have less, but hey, genes and all that right? At least I've got a good punch in stock for whenever necessary; got a pair of guns that could make seasoned wrestlers quake in their brightly colored spandex.

You've probably noticed this by now but, green eyes, see? My mom's taken to calling me watermelon because of the color combo-- a little embarrassing but parents will be parents, am I right? Other than a blue pair of specs situated on them, there's not that much left to tell... Other than how the bottoms crinkle when I grin.

Do you have any hobbies?

"All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy", right? Of course I have hobbies! Probably too many. I've taken way too many lessons on all sorts of different activities-- piano, competitive swimming, free-running, the list goes on. To be real, I probably don't even remember half'a them, especially not after getting a job. Slices my time in half while gnawing at my adventurous soul. Less than half have actually survived, so, I guess it doesn't really make much of a difference?

I love to paint. Art is all those cliched things people on the outside looking in say it is and more. Unfortunately, there ain't much to do with it when you're stuck home most of the time, so, you gotta make your own fun. You've probably noticed by now some of the striking artwork littered around town-- the fact that anyone calls it graffiti is an insult that I have risen above. Some people just don't understand it, is all. The occasional tag or more in-depth mural aside, I suppose running from the law would be a sub-category here. The unfortunate downside to one's work gaining popularity. It's a sacrifice that I'll put on my shoulders like some sorta modern day Atlas.

What are some things that you especially dislike?

Mmmm... Not a very dislike-y person, so, you'll have to gimme a minute here. Off the top'a my head I could name the usual generic things; homework, the occasional bout of acne, having a job, etc.

Oh! Oh god wait. One thing. I hate, I hate slugs-- they just sit there all slimy and nasty and sometimes they find a shell and people call them snails when they are just slugs in disguise. Plus they leave those grimy trails wherever they please-- make it impossible to walk outside barefoot at night... Who knows, maybe they're working alongside the government and spying on people just because they can. It's farfetched sure, but I honestly wouldn't doubt it. Little gross... Things.

What are your goals for the future? Both immediate and long-term.

Between my parents plans and my plans, there's a lot of plans going on. I know what I really wanna do in the future-- be a tattoo artist. Body art is really where it's at, y'know? And in my humble opinion, the people gettin' it are the same. They're embracing a part of them on the skin that would be tucked away otherwise; like a walking talking screen of their heart put on display via the flesh. I dunno, I'm going on a tangent but... Just putting art on people's skin is something that strikes me in just the right way.

Ehehe... Yeah that's... That's it.

What's your home life like? Specifically, what is your relationship like with your parents?

You could ask anyone who knows about me that my favorite place to be is home. Most nowadays go on about their separated parents since divorce is apparently the new up-and-coming thing, but not with this family. Taking a peek through a window, you'd be able to see my mom cooking while dad's away at work. We've got that whole white picket fence thing going on despite it being a little "outdated". The only thing missing are really some little kids running around and breaking the toys they just got yesterday-- I've always wanted siblings, have kind of nudged mom and dad for 'em too, but, no dice. Yet.

Considering I've been home-schooled ever since I can remember, me and my parents are close. Mom's always there to help me out in any subject I'm having trouble with when the tutors are slackin'. It's almost like part of her stay-at-home job I guess? What with raising me with a proper education and all. Though I gotta admit, it was my dad who supported my interest in painting. He went out and bought me some watercolors after I mentioned it the first time. Ma thinks it's a good hobby too, thankfully enough... Though, I don't make it clear about my graffiti. I don't even want to think about the grounding they would give me, yeesh.

It was actually their idea to get me involved with the honor society so, thanks to that I actually got to meet those who I guess should be called "my peers". There's a first time for everything after all and that was it. Definitely interesting to say the least considering the whole program is connected throughout the local school distract... Never thought that I would end up tutoring other kids, but, here we are.

What's your favorite animal, and why?

Ocelots. Definitely by far, ocelots. If there was some sort of race going on, they would win by like twenty miles because they're just so great. They are literally leopards shrunk down into the cutest kitty body-- but just cuz they're small, doesn't mean they're pushovers. They fight to the death. If I had to summarize them in two words it'd be cute & deadly. Except not towards me. Because I would love them. All of them. I'm sure you could keep one like a domestic cat, right? Right? No is not an answer I'll accept in this case.

Favorite color?

Green. Why would you even ask? Green's literally the only answer to this question-- it's the color of everything important. Money, aliens, my eyes... Not in that order. My eyes are the most important. And I guess green's the color of nature too. What we haven't destroyed. Mother Earth is definitely royally PO'ed at us. I would be, too! The corporations-- the government-- they're all so worried about the next buck that they forget their roots. Get it. Roots. Like, plant roots. Because nature. Green. I brought it back around-- eheh-- see how I did that? Yeah.

Do you identify with any song or piece of music?

I'm pretty partial to... What's the name? You know the one. It kind of goes duh buh, duh buh, duh buh buh buh BUH, duh duh duh? Yeah! That one. Eheh. It's super catchy, right? And, dude, you've been paying attention. You already know what my sweater's made out of. Feel that. Yeah, you got it. Star material. Sick.

Do you believe in aliens?

I'm super tempted to ask if you're frigging kidding me here but I've decided not to even give you the chance. Instead, I will thank you for asking and tell you to wait a minute while I break out my scrapbooks filled with articles and meticulous notes I have dutifully taken down over the years. Eh-hem. Where to start, where to start...!

You've already thrust yourself atop the peak of the mountain my dear friend, but, think instead about the journey it takes to get there-- I'm talking coverups, government schemes, expunged and rewritten history, things your brainwashed mind cannot even begin to comprehend because you've been lulled into quiet complacency. I'm not saying that it's your fault, no! You just need a push in the right direction so you can ask the right questions-- like me! There are so many things that go unanswered, things that the public eye is repeatedly denied when we claim to have a freedom of information! It's all a well-woven rouse; a blanket to keep the ignorance... But I won't play their little game.

I mean, I don't even have to go into the little known things when it comes to paranormal or extraterrestrial phenomenon-- the only thing I have to mention is Area 51 and already we're on the same page. We could be here for hours about the rumors surrounding that place. I've actually made a couple of private breakthroughs myself when it comes to connecting the dots that some have tried to keep under wraps! Hah!

.... So, yes, I believe in aliens.
