Name: King Levarticus III of the Kravenfriht Empire.
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown, as he has survived longer than thought humanly possible.
Nation of birth: Kravenfriht
Appearance: A man obsessed with black armor, he wears a dark and foreboding piece of it on every inch of himself when in public, and his eyes are blood red at the iris. In a more modern world, he would be regarded as looking like a metal version of the Dark Knight (ironically). see image below:

Personality: Cold and Calculating, it would do you well to not have him shout at you, but it's worse when he's so mad he whispers. He will order his servants to do anything to accomplish his goals, even kill their comrades, and disobedience is not tolerated among his Personal Guard, even if the order is to kill a friend.
Valuable possessions: His Sword of the Knight of Five of Kravenfriht
Short History: As a child, he was looked down on and told he would never amount to anything. Naturally this lead to him wanting to prove everyone wrong. He enlisted in the army at an early age and once he got close to the King of Kravenfriht, he slaughtered him, then took command of the kingdom. He didn't stop there, making sure to allow no one to surpass him, he researched the Knight of Five of Kravenfriht's weakness and exploited it in order to kill him and obtain the Sword he possessed, then demanded absolute servitude after conquering the five Nations with well placed sneak attacks. his terms are simple. Serve him, or the trade routes to your Nation are cut off. permanently.
Sword Power 1: Longevity of life. no one knows for how long, or if this is permanent
Sword Power 2: Enhanced Durability. no ordinary unarmed combatant has ever beat him.
Sword Power 3: Unknown to anyone but his (current) head of the army (he goes through several a year)

(I think the two characters above me have the same ability of speeding-up :P
Also, is it necessary for the sword to be a sword, or could it be any type of weapon or at least any type of cold-steel weapon?)

Name: Jon (read Yoh-n) Stekvar
Gender: Male
Age: 22
Nation of birth: Drevmort- the Northern Nation of livestock.
Many people think that Drevmort is just the world's barnhouse, but in fact it's as wild as wild animals go and hunting is one of the people of Drevmort's most appreciated abilities.
Appearance: White-blond hair, icy-blue eyes, taller than most (think 190cm for humans), of the not-buff-but-dry-and-slender fit type. He wears two types of clothes - very tight, elastic (almost spandexy, but matted) black suit and an armour-like battle one. He has many scars on his body from hunting rare animals and beasts in his birthlands.

Personality: Sour, cold, introvert.
Jon is a cold-hearted fellow. Having grown-up in the warmer zones of Drevmort, he excelled in hunting with bow and arrows, dismembering the game with his father's daggers. Once his father got killed by a wild Nerocat, however, he had to look after himself and found a job in the cold North where he hoped to one day find his mother. This, however, never happened and he became sour and more sour with each ear of unsuccessful searching. He later became known as the Wild Slayer from the North Lands. Because he would only hunt the biggest and most dangerous prey... and always win.

Valuable possessions: His hunting daggers, bow and arrow (also hunting), a gemstone ring made of white gold (must I explain how he got it, or can we leave this for IC dialogue?)

Short History of Character:
Sword Power 1:}Extends the bearer's hearing abilities (including sound waves) PASSIVE
Sword Power 2:}With each hit on an enemy with the blunt, flat sides of the blade, the area hit becomes heavier x2. Thus, 10 hits will make a an armour piece weight x1024 (x2,x4,x8,x16,x32,x64,x128,x256,x512,x1024) PASSIVE
Sword Power 3:}The weapon exhausts enourmous stamina from the wielder to call forth the Earth's magma and bring it to the surface where their are fighting in the form of fire-stone rain. The bearer is the only one protected by the same fields which hit everything around. ACTIVE
(I think abilities need to have some limits, like exhaustion, or not hitting something. Having no limitations creates godmodding :P)

Name: Jodha Mariam Kunwari of Amer
Gender: Female
Age: 32
Nation of Birth: Harocrint

Appearance: A woman a number of years into the prime of her life, Jodha is not particularly remarkable in her appearance, but exudes an aura of warmth that resonates well with the light fairness of her visage. She is olive-skinned and in possession of chocolate brown locks that have been tied back into a neat ponytail, and two simple, emerald earrings (similar in shade to the irises of her kindly eyes) adorn her earlobes, the only real eye catchers for the modest-seeming, lightly-groomed woman. Standing at a height of one metre ninety, she towers over a number of her compatriots, especially with a fit body honed from years of work on farmsteads and in her local militia. It is a build that is only lightly emphasised by her preferences in simple clothes, which consist usually of a dull orange qamis tunic, beige shalwar trousers and from time to a flowing green scarf. Due to her former employment with the militia, she has made sure to sew for herself more resistant clothing, having also implemented mail into her outfit in case of danger.

Personality: A warm and kindly figure, it is altruism and love for her fellows that drives Jodha in her actions; always seeking to assist and support those she can. She will always be willing to lend an ear to the needy, always ready to empathise and care. Indeed, the collected woman is a constant bastion of maturity and patience, a gentle soul for all her friends. The Harocrint-born woman is a person who takes to life in a relaxed manner, happily engaging in activities with bright enthusiasm. Few things can shake at her almost-maternal demeanour, but if driven to anger, she can be incredibly intense, burning with a rage fuelled by her determination to do right by her morals and friends. Her sense of humour is quite expansive, but her jokes can be especially embarrassing to listen to, especially with how bad they are.

History: The second-born of the head of the small village of Amer, Jodha spent much of her youth undergoing a rather extensive education under the tutelage of local imam, who helped her develop strong administrative skills and furthered her curiosity into the nature of the world, teachings that befitted her position and allowed her to support her family in the running of the village council. For a time, this was essentially her life: doing farm work by day and studying by night, a simple routine that would not be interrupted until the age of sixteen. It was during her first years as an adult that the famine came, bringing widespread suffering to the western plains of Harocrint. A drought had laid low crops across the country, and desertification seemed to increase in the border regions. These factors brought the western plains into conflict, with the sedentary villages soon finding themselves fighting off raids by pastoral clans in a struggle for fertile soil. Jodha's village, alongside numerous others, established a militia to defend themselves, and she found herself joining up with one, fighting to defend the land her family had toiled upon for centuries. It would be during these conflicts that she distinguished herself as more than just an administrator, and when the ethnic tensions began to boil down a few years later, she was granted the position of the local militia's second-in-command, serving as a liaison between villages in its sphere of influence. It was a duty she performed with much vigour, and even now considers to hold considerable influence with the local militia as a trusted advisor.

Possessions:
  • Hatchet
  • Lion Emblem of the Militia
  • Holy Book
  • Water Canteen

Sword:

{Sword Power 1} As a blade modelled after the "spine-splitter", it is capable of dividing anything into two upon contact as long as the wielder wishes that such an act is performed.
{Sword Power 2} It is also capable of distinguishing between ethical absolutes, providing its wielder with the wisdom to discern the true motives of other people and whether or not said motives and the actions undertaken to fulfil them is right or wrong.
{Sword Power 3} Said to possess a celestial nature, the sword also provides its wielder with the ability to communicate telepathically with other humans.

Name: John N. Viper

Gender: Male

Age: 36

Nation of birth: Drevmort

Appearance: A solidly built man, even as his athletic prime is beginning to leave him behind he still looks every bit as trained and powerful as he is. Tallish, but not overly so, he's lightly brushed with old scars--equally probable to be kitchen accidents or old war stories waiting to be told. Rugged in face, build, clothing, and overall complexion, his short beard and neck-length hair (both brown) are kept out of the way by a plain green headband when cooking or otherwise necessary. Wears drab clothing, carries a serious expression most of the time.

Personality: Very world-weary, and seems to carry years of life experience perhaps even beyond his age. Not very nonsensical, but not entirely without a sense of humor. Will freely dispense both advice, and food, and has a bit of a fatherly streak. Admires things such as codes of honor and idealism, but cannot claim to hold them himself entirely. Nonetheless, he has a sense of right and wrong and will follow it through hell or high water, with both words, fists, and steel. The latter two of which, at least, are definitely trained.

Valuable possessions: A set of knives, kitchen standard. A cooking pot, well-maintained and always clean. A set of eating utensils, bowls, and some key spices. A ladle, a reference cookbook, washrags, and a pack to keep everything in.

Finally, a small bronze band around the fourth finger of his left hand, obviously holding deep sentimental value despite its plain metallurgy, only having a constant polish, a perfect fit, and a simple etched groove running along the center.

Short History of Character: A former soldier of unspecified rank, the toils of war weighed heavily upon John's soul as they would have any young man, fresh off conscription and just having had a son. After serving long, dutiful years and doing both right and wrong in the name of his orders, one fateful night where he ended up back in his hometown brought it all to a screeching halt.

He finished his time in the army solemnly, and retired to a peaceful life, taking up cooking as work to make what little ends he needed meet. But every so often, the Call tugs upon the strings of the heart...

No Swords, No Problem.

“As I said before, I am a man of my word. Trust me and I promise your safe arrival.”

Name: Flavius Iuventis Vitalis

Gender: Male

Age: 23

Nation of birth: Kravenfriht

Appearance:

Personality: One of the first things a client of Flavius might notice is his quiet, reserved nature. Flavius prefers to speak only when necessary as he takes his jobs very seriously, and excessive talking can often lead to careless mistakes. That said Flavius is more than capable of being charismatic when the situation calls for it and when safely in the company of old acquaintances Flavius quickly opens up. While he may not support excessive tomfoolery, and will quickly shut down clients when their foolishness endangers their safety, Flavius is remarkably easy going about anything not related to the job.

He possesses a dry sense of humor and it’s not uncommon to hear him snark about the antics of his clients and the idiocy of others. Nevertheless he is extremely protective of his clients and always strives to fulfill his word. He has a strong sense of honor to the point where even his abandonment of Kravenfirht weighs on him. One of the many reasons he doesn’t talk about his past, for while it may not be dark or tragic, it still weighs heavily on the young man. The other notable trait of Flavius personality is his deep respect for the sanctity of life, he does not believe in killing for the sake of sport or fun, and prefers to keep killing to a minimum if possible.

At the end of day, he is just another guy, albeit one with quite a bit of experience in the world, trying to go on about living his life in a Kingdom wracked by war. If you’re his friend or client he’ll devote his soul to you, but if you’re his enemy, well he’ll simply ignore and avoid you. Confrontation just leads to more misfortune after all.

Valuable possessions: As a wandering nomad, Flavius possesses few positions of any note. Indeed most items merely have a sentimental as opposed to monetary value. He holds onto his mother’s old hunting knife and her bow, while his father’s old travel log now serves as his own. The only item with any real value is a spear he acquired in his journeys with his father.

Short History of Character: Born in the Nation of Kravenfriht, Flavius’ father was one of the many merchants who called the Nation home. A traveling peddler of goods, he often took young Flavius with him on his journeys, exposing the boy at a young age to the wonders of the world. Therefore it wasn’t long before he started to acquire a vast array of knowledge of the Kingdom. He had walked across the vast fields of Harocint, traded with smithies of Brokwyrd, feasted in Drevmort, delved deep into the mines of Fravkoan and of course, lived in the Nation of Kravenfriht. It should therefore serve as little surprise that Flavius knew the cultures and histories of the entire Kingdom just as well as those of his own Nation.

On those days he wasn’t journeying with his father, Flavius often spent time with his mother, a native from Drevmort, who hunted in the forests of Kravenfriht. While his father had introduced him to the many peoples of the Kingdom, his mother was the one who showed him the secrets of the wild. It was from his mother that he learned to wield a bow and skin a deer. Flavius learned of what it meant to be a hunter and to show respect for the sources of all life. Between the teachings of his mother and his father, Flavius grew deeply in tune with both the natural world and the world of man.

However, even as a young boy, the hostility others showed to his homeland did not escape him. Flavius often questioned why his father donned disguises and lied whenever they went past the borders of Kravenfriht’s trade empire. Yet the only response he ever received, was that it trading outside the border was dangerous. As he grew older, Flavius learned the stories of his Nation, of the evil nature of his King, of how said King had slain the five legendary knights and placed restrictions on trade with the other Nations.

Yet he never wanted to believe any of those stories, for being taught that his homeland was nothing but a blight upon the Kingdom is not something any young child wishes to hear. Thus when he was 14, the young lad joined Kravenfriht’s army despite the protests of his mother and father. Armed only with a spear purchased on a journey with his father and his mother’s hunting bow, young Flavius set out to learn the truth of his Nation’s evil. The oath to serve his King is the only one he’s ever broken.

For the first two years training progressed smoothly and Flavius discovered that he had a considerable talent for the spear. The boy learned quickly what it meant to fight as a soldier and became quite proficient in the art of war. Unfortunately at the beginning of his third year of training, Flavius parents “mysteriously vanished” during what was supposed to be just another one of his father’s trade travels. The young man was heartbroken and threw himself into his training as a way of forgetting about the tragedy. Yet deep in his heart a voice whispered that their disappearance was not all that it seemed.

Near the end of his third year of training, shortly before his first scheduled deployment onto the battlefield, Flavius was thrown headlong into the evils of his Nation. After discovering his father’s old travel log tucked away in an old closet, inside of which was a farewell letter detailing how the King had caught on to his little endeavours on the side. Those suspicions the boy had harbored were finally proven true and he knew he could serve this man no longer. Casting aside his oath, Flavius slipped into the forest easily passing under the radar. After all, what difference did a lone defector still in training make to the Nation of Kravenfriht. It should be no surprise that the manpower they spent on tracking him down was negligible.

Surviving off the teachings of his mother and father, Flavius spent most of his last few years hunting for his own nourishment. Anything he didn’t need would be sold for cheap to the nearest village. In addition Flavius has always stayed on the move, heading from one Nation to another as a leaf might blow on the winds. His tendency to travel has also given him a part time job as a guide for fellow travelers or refugees. Flavius quickly learned that few others possessed his breadth of knowledge on the Kingdom. In addition his frequent traveling left him with a network of acquaintances across the Kingdom many of whom knew his parents. A traveling guide and helper of vagabonds and the lost, that is the mantle Flavius has come to bear.
