“Would you forsake your child in the name of progress? Would you forget your mother for the sake of progress? Would you betray your friend for the sake of progress? Then how can we do this to the pokemon who got us here? What gives us the right or the reason to destroy not only our mother earth and fail our pokemon friends but deny our children the future they deserve? It must end here. We can’t turn back the clock, but my friends we can make a new future, A future that saves pokemon and ourselves. To do that we have to give up our petty ways and relearn the respect that fostered our growth. It will not be easy, and the costs are high. My generation has failed this earth, and so we leave it to the next. We go to where we can do no harm, an exile for our failures. You true children of earth who have proven your dedication to a new mission. To save what we lost. I know that together you and your pokemon can save this world. Do not doubt, do not despair. With your pokemon at your side you can do anything. Arceus be with you.” – Arthur Neil, Farewell Address

Pokemon. A world with such majesty and potential, and we nearly destroyed it. Allow me to introduce myself. I’m Prof. Michael Shale. I act as head of pokemon sciences in the small village of Letchworth. It’s my job to tend to all situations involving pokemon. It’s a very hectic job, but worth every moment. Pokemon are fascinating creatures with astounding powers. It is through their work with humanity that we grew into a grand society, but as the years went on greed took hold and our ideals of progress soon overwhelmed the planet. We ravaged its resources and destroyed its environments. The pokemon we once relied on were now in grave danger.

Pokemon had long been paired up with people called Trainers. These dedicated people worked with pokemon for many reasons, and often proved themselves in youth in Pokemon Leagues. It was those Leagues that spearheaded a revolution in how we treat the world and pokemon. They along with the governments of the world worked hard to undo the damage we had done. The International League, home to the best trainers in the world, focused on the physical defense of pokemon providing aid to endangered areas and helping to preserve habitat. The government reinforced laws to protect nature as a whole trying to push green tech and safer methods while still maintaining our society. The effort was valiant, but it was clear we were beyond the point of no return. Populations were growing and the choice we becoming them or us.

Then a mysterious thing occurred called the Deoxys event. A tiny comet landed on earth containing a new species of pokemon. It was befriended and captured by the young new International champion Arthur Neil. Deoxys provided new insight into space and lead to a new space age of technology. This wasn’t enough to save the world, but it gave us a new option. It was agreed that to save the human race and the world humanity would leave for the stars. Starships were made and people evacuated for a new settlement of mars. The red planet had no life to destroy, but could be safely colonized and maintained with the new safer technologies as a base.

Not everyone could part with Earth though. Some decided to stay and pay for their failures, others simply refused, and other like my great great grandfather remained vowing to restore the earth and protect it. Today small towns dot the world living a new harmony as we oversee the rebirth of the planet. Once again special men and women join with pokemon to maintain this balance. These Trainers are the cornerstone of our societies protecting both the people and the wild world sometimes from each other. I work closely with them studying the adaptability of pokemon and how they have come to cope with the strange world we live in now.

But that’s enough about me. The Trainer Head, Jaklo Riecher, asked me to get you all acquainted with how things work in the town, so I suppose I’ll start with him. The Trainers as I said act as a guardian force for the town protecting it and serving its citizens. Jaklo Riecher is our Trainer Head. These Trainers, also called Rangers, all report back to him. He’s the chief so to say. Jaklo is one of the most skilled trainers in the North Eastern area, and now uses that skill to train other rangers as well as handle the more serious of occurrences. Below him is his Alice Maez. She is another very skilled trainer who ranks the same as Jaklo, but serves as second in command. Speaking of Ranks as Trainers you are split up into a number of groups based on a combination of skill and service: Oak, bronze, silver, gold, platinum, diamond, and master. Both Jaklo and Alice are platinum trainers having served for many years and proven their skill many times even though they are rather young for the rank. There’s a tall tale about how the two along with their pokemon stopped the old Mt. Morris dam from collapsing and flooding the entire eastern plains and the ruin of Rochester. The water could have mixed with the pollution of the city and ruined the entire area. In truth the dam wasn’t that damaged and other rangers helped plenty, but it was under Jaklo and Alice’s direction that the disaster was averted.

Now let’s talk about all of you. As trainers you will be working to protect the town of course. It’s far too dangerous to just let anyone wander around out in the wilderness. Wild pokemon are after all wild. They were far more tame back when society was still big, but have gone back to older instincts. It’s not a bad thing, but something we have to be careful about. As lower ranks you’ll be dealing with smaller situations. Wild pokemon getting too close to town, nearby salvage, and general services. Trainers are core to the town’s well being, but don’t get full of yourself Trainers are only one small part.

The citizens of Letchworth are a hardworking hardy lot. Four generations have lived here in the beautiful park. Itself a monument to the restoration of nature. William Letchworth had bought the property in the eighteen hundreds from farmers and began to regrow the forests. Sorry, I’ve gotten side tracked. Now the people of Letchworth are from a number of places originally. Many came from Rochester and Unova both urban areas too polluted to live in now. It’s a nice quiet place to live. The farms circle the homes that circle the shops, and everything is built around the Ranger Hall. Here just take a look at this map:

((((So as i mentioned I've redone the map. The new layout is obviously bigger and designates an area to supply the needs of pokemon. The light blue is a fresh water are while the smaller dark blue is salt since some people have salt water pokemon [by some i mean like 4]. Anyway it's again an area open to sandboxing in whatever might be needed. The trainer area is going to facilitate the pokemon lab, a training facility, a barracks, and workshop which handles tech brought back.))))

Don’t mistake the quaint setting for simple though. Just because we have sworn to protect nature doesn’t mean we’ve gone back to the stone age. Technology is still widely used here, but we are far more careful. Everything is recycled, and our energy is produced cleanly as possible. As trainers you will have access to some very top of the line things. PC’s, healing machines, and more great inventions. One device to be ever familiar with is the pokeball. This small sphere acts as a resonant aura holding chamber, basically meaning it can hold any pokemon which chooses to be captured. We make them using the traditional apricorn method, and throw in a little modern technology.

We aren’t cut off either. We have two towns we communicate with somewhat often Rushing and Vint. Vint is down south a ways, and Rushing is over at the Niagara Falls. When things get bad we can rely on each other. They also have Trainers, and heads are Michelle in Rushing and Leon in Vint. Maybe once you’ve proven yourselves capable then we’ll let you travel out with a caravan to visit.

For now I think it’s time we got to some serious matters. Trainers are dedicated to balancing nature and civilization. It’s a thin, but hardline and we walk it everyday. This job can be one of the best in the world, but also very difficult. You will be tested often, and you’ll never know what will happen that day. Preparation is key to how we work.

Pokemon can be great allies, but also are wild entities. They have powers that sometimes cannot be matched by just one person. That’s why you’ll be in groups most of the time and never without your own pokemon. It’s never an easy day when it comes to it, but sometimes we have to put them down. Pokemon can go entirely farel and become only a threat. We’ve never seen a tamed pokemon do this, but wild pokemon in desperate situations have gone on rampages.

Pokemon aren’t the only danger. Some humans live out in the wilderness, and seek to survive through conquest. Instead of working for themselves they try to take what is ours. These outlanders are rare in our territory, but are common far north and south. It’s unlikely for us to meet them, but always keep your guard up. We play an active role in keeping them from salvaging the more dangerous technology of the cities that we have banned. It’ll be some time before you newer members are allowed in the major urban ruins though.

I think that’s enough from me though. Jaklo asked me to hand out these forums to everyone just a survey so we can reorganize the records.

So I have a nice little tool for all you guys. Pokemon Trainer Creator v2 is a really nice fan made little thing that let's you make some pretty epic art for pokemon characters.

Below in order from left to right is: Standard pokemon trainer uniforms, Jaklo and Alice in Mega Gear, Alice and Jaklo in field gear, standard uniform on Jaklo and Alice, and finally Jaklo and Alice in their official rank regalia for special events.

I'll make higher resolution singles later.

hapuriainen.deviantart.com/art/Pokemon..

if you want to use it here it is. Please if you use it though still have a basic description for height and weight and other details you can't change.

Here's a char :3

[hider=Linnoh Jaune]

Just a few examples as to what he might wear... idk. I'm not sure how much i like this generator xP

Name: Linnoh Maximillian Jaune

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Physical Attributes: Linnoh has a very relaxed demeanor standing near six feet tall with a sinewy and sturdy frame. His chest and shoulders are broad and his skin darkened from hours of working in the fields. He gets his strong, lived-in face from his father but his small nose from his mother. Long, craggy lines spray out from the corners of his eyes showing his dedication to hard work and sunlight. At just the right angle or silhouette, you'd swear he was far older.

With reddish-black hair and dark eyes, he is easily described as both "earthy" and "stately." Though he's quiet and rarely commands attention, he's been known to sway a man or two with just his words to avoid conflict. As he spends a lot of time in the fields and in the city, he wears clothes that both function and look nice; mostly tans, grays, and a few vibrant colors.

Medical and Family History:

Linnoh was born to Zoch and Lydia Jaune in early spring twenty-two years ago. Both of his parents come from a long line of farmers and botanists. As such, Linnoh's childhood education was very extensive and heavily driven into studying every aspect of flora and even species in lands he would likely never see. His family, at least his aunts and uncles, work in the grains, vegitables, and cattle farms, in some aspect or another. However, he was raised in the orchid fields on the north-eastern edge of town. Though he is an only child, his mother's several siblings and their families each have a child or two he grew up with.

From the six cousins closest to his age, he is the most introverted in comparison. They are all rather rambunctious but are incredibly kind. Iridess is the cousin closest to him in age and in friendship. Her pet ditto was the first pokemon Linnoh remembers interacting with. As his parents were almost "against" having a pokemon live in their house, he always felt something was missing. "They're just meant to be free," his mother would say to him. And to this day, Linnoh rarely uses a pokeball because of it.

Linnoh has been motivated by studying the flora and pokemon. Due to his father's strict beliefs about education, he had to choose one or the other. When he chose both, he was given double the work. Morning and night classes and short weekends, his life was spent inside of books for the first ten years of his life. But Linnoh always kept up with his studies and never faltered. Year after year he'd gladly enroll in more and more classes with private tutors and lessons on pokemon from Prof. Shale or other trainers. "The fastest learner, I swear," some of his instructors would almost complain about it.

When he became an Oak rank trainer at 14 (his parents demanded he wait), he befriended an Oddish which he named Blight. He chose "Blight" specifically because Oddish and Gloom are sometimes seen as "helpless" because they lack many powerful defenses. But Blight was different; he was stronger and faster than one would expect. Linnoh thought it was due to Blight being slightly feral, having to fight for food while being so weak naturally. So aggressiveness won in the land of small pokemon. Regardless of Blight's attitude, he always obeys Linnoh's commands.

Linnoh and Blight are known for caring for many of the sick and elderly in town. With his personal garden and those of his family's, Linnoh can create many different potions, salves, or other mixtures used for healing. He makes his entire living off of trading medicine to people throughout the town. In fact, his method of preserving medicine is the most preferred across town and many farmers and shop owners use it. If the town is healthy and the elderly are comfortable, he will travel around to the fields and get in his day's worth of work which is almost always seven or eight hours. If there's no work to be done in the farms, which there rarely is, he will spend an entire afternoon devising methods for more potent fertilizer and better yields on crops.

Though he shies away from attention, Linnoh is known by many for his courage when a powerful flu struck the commercial quarter of Letchworth. At first, it seemed like just a regular cold. But then shops started closing because the owners and workers grew too sick to work. He happened to be walking through the town early that morning when he saw a man in pajamas placing a "closed until further notice" sign on his shop window. Linnoh tapped on the glass, startling the man.

"What's wrong?" Linnoh asked him through the closed door.

"Awf'ly sick, sum kinnah flu," the gruff man coughed, "off with yeh or catch it yourself."

"Who else is sick?" He asked, staring at the sniffling man who sneezed violently into a tissue. The veins on his hands were blue and Linnoh saw blood in his mucus.

"Jus'. . . about everyone on this street," he hacked, "been worse the past night or two,"

"Stay here, I think I can help."

Linnoh ran home to get a secret medicine he'd been expirementing with. A complex one meant to filter the blood and flush toxins. He took the medicine to the man and everyone on the street that day. After a brief quarantine, the flu passed and Linnoh was credited for assisting in the cure and controlling it.

At least that's how some children tell the story. In truth, it was a small cul-de-sac of houses that had all been sick with the same cold, no blood was involved and certainly no blue, bulging veins! Regardless, the group of families were incredibly grateful and insisted that he be recognized in some way or another. Since he refused money for his services, the three families put together a ceremony in his honor and dubbed him "The Healing Hand" and bestowed a small token of their gratitude. Officially, the city took no part in their little ceremony. Coincidentally, he was given the rank advancement of Oak to Bronze that same week. Every night he looks at the little bronze statue and reads the quote inscribed; [i]"For his dedication to people, pokemon, and protecting us all the same. - the Williards, Mochi, and Bellamy families."

Since he's been a Bronze rank, he's been working more with pokemon and training with Blight rather than studying herbs or medicines. Often he'll train with a sparring partner, but the whole act of it still makes him nervous. Linnoh and Blight can be good fighters, but at times Linnoh often finds himself overwhelmed if more than two pokemon are involved. Unlike his trainer, Blight prefers to take the offensive and tries to push Linnoh into doing so.

Mental Health background:

Linnoh is quiet in a crowd but cheerful and often talkative with people he knows well. He's not often seen as the leader of his troupe of cousins but that's not to say he won't speak up if he needs to. Linnoh is quite picky as well, whether it be food, clothing, or even finding a way to sleep at night. Some misread his quiet demeanor and (seemingly) indifference to situations for being withrdawn or curt.

Rank: Bronze.

Equipment Carried:

Held in a backpack or on utility belt:
Lantern (wick, oil, matches)
Small Hatchet
Scissors
Notebooks, pencils
Tree-Climber Belt
Nuts, Berries, always some kind of food and water
Mortar & Pestle
Ingredient bags/containers

Topical Meds for:
+ Cuts (x5) (similar to regular HP potion)
+ Burn (x2)
+ Sleep (x1)

Ingestible Meds (for):
+ Healing Tonic (x5) (similar to super potion, very difficult to make in comparison to stat heals)
+ Paralysis (x3)
+ Poison (x3)

Qualifications/Skils:

Botany Skills:
- identifying a wide range of plants and their uses
- creating various medicines to heal wounds, sicknesses, and other afflictions
- navigating forest terrain
- sewing/growing/harvesting crops

Pokemon Skills:
- identifying a large range of grass, bug, and poison type pokemon
- identifying afflictions such as poison, paralysis, etc. and how to cure some of them
- good understanding of pokemon nature
- knack for finding unique ways to implement pokemon's special abilities/moves

Other:
- woodcutting and sculpting
- climbing trees
- drawing
- great with puzzles

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pokemon
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Species: Oddish

Name: Blight

Nature: Rash. Blight is quite a hand full. He's not the cuddly, sweet Oddish most people think of when it comes to his kind. He's often hostile to those he doesn't know and will bite without second thought. Blight can have a temper, but Linnoh tries to make him save it for battles, the few battles he does have. Some think Linnoh and Blight make a strange pair because they're such opposites of each other.

Ability: Harvest: May create another Berry after one is used.

Moves: Razor leaf, Bullet Seed, Absorb, Acid, Protect, Stun Spore, Sleep Powder, Poison Powder

@Izuriel Steam Character overall pretty solid. Most problems are more logistical.

Also I totally understand if you don't like it(the trainer creator). Not everyone does. I've just gotten really used to it and now how to customize things. I've combined items to get what i have up there, and other times I actually to photoshop them for special custom details.

"based on a combination of skill and service" you do not get promoted for a single event. It would boost you along, but 1 feat =/= 1 promotion. He'd be promoted for having being a good trainer, and then moved up with the whole group (they tend to promote in groups for low ranks. Silver plus it's more specific. Think like graduations.) Largely it's just down to that moving from Oak to bronze is rather easy. As I suggested before Linnoh would be better as a bronze trainer close to ranking up to silver. Basically I'd suggest you move this to when he is bronze, and then it'll get him in the eyes of Jaklo for being promoted, but you don't just suddenly go bronze to silver. There's a bunch of new training that comes with rank ups and new things are allow (ex. traveling far out to other towns, access to the armory, new tools and items).

As for commendations a title specific to himself and his own trophy seem a bit much. Perhaps instead that "Healing Hand" is a trophy that is established in town and handed out for these situations. Likely they'd have a plaque of others who have received it and Linnoh would have his name engraved on it. He might get a little metal for his official regalia, and a small plaque for himself sure I suppose.

Really the only problem is the "rich" families. You can't really be "rich" in this society. It's still very much egalitarianism as soon as things get out of balance we could all get wiped out. Not to mention money is in small circulation it's not like we print a ton more all the time. economically you can't be rich in a world like this without others being super poor. It's almost like that ideal communist idea where there is one social class since everyone needs everyone else to live. There just isn't room for the rich everyone has to work and everyone needs everyone elses products.

The actually character and background is great, it's just little specifics that don't quite make sense (And maybe you can make sense with them and then I'll redact my thoughts.)

Only other problem is Blight's ability makes no sense. oddish has no relation to lightning in anyway. Mega Sceptile is the only grass pokemon with that ability, and that's because he's the king of the trees (and a christmas tree himself) the tallest thing in forests which often get struck by lightning before other things. Oddish is a raddish I could see a kind of ground ability because it lives in the ground, but lightning rod is way out there.

Concise: You don't just rank up from one act. It's a long process that combines act like those, time, and skill to see if you are ready to handle the new challenges of the next rank.

"Healing Hand" would be better as a trophy given to any trainer who aids the town through medical expertise. Little trophy and it gets him in good standing with Jaklo.

There aren't any rich since the small survival economy requires a focus on shared effort and resources. There is no room for an upper class nor is there the money/economy to support an upper class.

No lightningrod for Oddish.

You can rebut any of these if you explain reasoning.

EDIT: is orchids a typo for orchards or did you mean orchids?

Also I love when people go beyond what I ask for. the whole skills and equipment is very nice. Wish I wasn't so lazy about that :P so many things so little time to make them fancy.

I was reading Jaklo’s stuff again and realized i broke my own rules. I did put firm that jaklo ranked up for a single event. The scale is different though. Massive ecological disaster vs spreading flu (a nasty one yes, but not a pandemic going to endanger all life.) So i need to make edits. I think from platinum up its for great feats since there isnt as much to learn so much as there is to do epic things for the community and earth.

*sigh*
Okay um. I don't like these character sheets because the GM always freaks out like this. I always end up having to trash 1-2 characters just to make y'all happy.
Character sheets aren't in any way a part of the story either. Histories should be written in the first post, not on some silly template... So I'm not rewriting it aside from a few small parts. Character sheets do not deserve the critiquing you gave mine. I'd suggest not ripping the other players apart the way you did me.

Here's my rebuttals and concerns.

1) You created some "awful disaster" that most of our characters would have experienced that I felt like I had to "write around." At least my situation was very minimal. Secondly, Your character has a LOT of pokemon. Seriously, 21 pokemon. I thought there were much less pokemon in the world? You're breaking all the cardinal and "cool" rules for this RP: there is no way that you as a trainer could solely take care of 21 pokemon constantly. And then if there are two of you with that many pokemon, that's 40 pokemon and I certainly don't see a "pokemon farm" on the map for them to roam freely. So we're keeping them in pokeballs until they're useful...? The human race has gone anywhere in the way they treat pokemon if this is true. It's contradictory to the background story you wrote and confusing to the rest of us. If you are going to have 20-30 pokemon kept in pokeball prisons or on some magical "PC" then I'll likely have to drop.

2) "Rank up from one event" Please reread what I wrote. It was written like that to show that this was the "tipping point" for being ranked up. Not that he was just your average Oak-ranked trainer, but that he had a good standing with people for quite some time already. And the families he helped that insisted on coming up with a "reward" for him, not the town. So they put it together and invited all they could. I also made it more "unofficial" because I didn't want to step on any of your toes. But clearly I crashed your RP like a bull through a china shoppe. I'll rewrite this a bit to make it more clear.

3) You said there weren't a whole lot of trainers... where the hell did graduation ceremonies come from? How was I supposed to know that there are enough trainers to have regularly scheduled graduation ceremonies? Are there lots of trainers or just a handful? Can you make up your mind? I'm not rewriting this part because I feel that would be contradictory to the fact that there's not a lot of trainers.

4) Yes on lightning rod because: The Bellsprout Ash first faced in the first season of pokemon had the lightning rod ability which prevented it from being affected by Pikachu's lightning. Bellsprout is a flower with some roots and Oddish is a radish whose entire body is underground. Plus, Oddish will be the only pokemon Linnoh has for some time, without evolving. I'm not trying to overpower my Oddish, more like level the playing field since Oddish are so weak. (note the spore abilities)

The only thing other I think is a valid concern of yours is the fact that I used the word "rich" because I figured it was a bit out there to begin with. I figured this would have been your only concern, but instead you've dashed a pretty good part of my character's history and in quite a lot of words too. I didn't expect a lashing for creating a character, which is how it feels. I followed your lead and played under the radar.

If I was the GM of this RP, I would have likely denied your character... 21 pokemon.... seriously.

@Izuriel Steam If you think this is tearing apart then I'm sorry. genuinely sorry. I know I am terrible as critiquing other peoples work. I know I need work, but I can't do that without doing it. I saw three points that I thought were small and didn't realize they meant so much to you. That's why I offer the rebuttals. I agree character sheets are not enough to really give characters. I've had people hand in great sheets then play terribly. It's all we have though. If I knew a better option I'd take it.

I don't have time right now to fully reply, but I now can understand things. I'll try to get clear replies up soon as I can.

EDIT: alright have some time now.

1. To put Jaklo in perspective he is equivalent to an elite four while all of you guys are normal trainers. He's not a normal player character. He's basically going to be acting as IC GM. He'll be handing out assignments, occasionally dropping in for meetings, and other things, but he won't be there for normal events. His pokemon are from a number of areas since he's a well traveled guy. He's been doing ranger work for 17 years (and I've been in debate of making him older than that since it seems a bit odd still for a 27 year old to be incharge of all of this). His pokemon tend to stay around his house since well that's home, and since pokemon are sentient beings(tamed ones being very much logical) they can fend for themselves at home (Mako is the only exception staying at the HQ since they have a BIG tank there for water pokemon[RP wise to explain fish and such out of wter I've been thinking they just have to return to water every couple hours]). I didn't put anything like that on the map since I didn't see the point of adding it then. The Trainer HQ has a set up for tending to pokemon, but most trainers only have a few you are right about that. Jaklo is an exception because he is supposed to be the big impressive boss. He's not just a trainer he is THE trainer. he's a man in his prime who has been above and beyond expectations. That's why he's the trainer head. He's the best in the region. Yeah it pushes that rule of cool, but I was kind of going for this character who's been built up with all these tall tales and while impressive is actually just a laid back kind of guy who does what has to be done. The only reason I've written him up is so he can be referenced since you probably all would know your boss.

As for pokemon populations things are fairly stable right now. You have to travel to find certain one, but pokemon are still numerous in their safe habitats. It's more about finding the habitats. Ex. Jaklo has a Krookodile. That is not local to the area at all. He got that while out west.

I've been looking at the games and how in most of them you can find pokemon in any area that is remotely suitable for them. Does it have rocks? then you can find Rhydon here. Is it a cave? here have a pseudo legendary dragon. Now to get species that aren't indigenous you have to travel very far.

2. And this is why I have the rebuttals because with this yeah it's really clear I screwed up big time. I rushed misinterpreted, and well I think I was the bull going through your writing. I think really if anything really bugs me still it was him getting a title.

3. There are enough trainers in the oak and bronze ranks for ceremonies. I swear I wrote them down somewhere, but if memory serves it was about 20 oaks and 15 bronze. When ten move from bronze to silver then ten will move from oak to bronze and ten will become oaks, so 30 people in a town like this seemed like enough for ceremony.

4. Alright then, but may I ask for the caveat that it has to bury itself to use it? it shouldn't be hard since that's what oddish do during the day. After all how is it rooted if it isn't actually rooted. I've always seen Lightningrod's point as stopping it from hitting others rather than negating dmg. grass types just take minimal damage from grass, but I suppose this'll work.

EDIT 2: It's hard to phrase this exactly but I do hope you stick around. There certainly a value in someone who sticks to what they believe even when it's something which I don't agree with. having someone who has different thoughts and is honest about them is someone I really could use to help keep this RP strong. I know I will make mistakes, and balance is not my forte. I know Jaklo is way up there, but that's the kind of person I wanted to write for this, and yes I should bring him back a bit (I've already been looking at his pokemon again. I had this weird idea to make him semi-focused on dragons and dragonoids[yea for making up words], now I see that's rather unneeded.)

But it's just who I am. I write to get out of the stale limited world I come from. I make these characters that hold my ideals and often because of that I make them just too perfect. I know you said you don't like the character sheet style, but could you do me a favor and tell me really why Jaklo would be denied? I'm certain you have more thoughts than him just having a large pool of pokemon.

EDIT 3: see this is why I like counter arguments gets people thinking. I've decided to upscale the town and population some. I've realized it would benefit the world if we had space for more specialization and improving possibilities. The town really only had enough people to do the farming and the basic trades, but I've been a fool to overlook the care needed for pokemon. I looked to much to the game where they need nothing but to sit in a pokeball or box, and ignored that they need to be living breathing beings too. Ironic considering the themes of the RP.

I'm going to be redoing that map to expand on it all, and clarifying pokemon in the new world. Pokemon are not super rare. They are very segregated since regions are now more distinct rather than being able to be in every region that's remotely habitable. Weedles are still plentiful in letchworth, but way back when so were pokemon like Ursaring. Now they only live much further north or near the mountains.

Pokemon are all over in town. They largely are beasts of burden and pets/friends. The cattle in the south are food (largely miltank that have been surviving since the area around letchworth used to be big farmland). These cattle pokemon are dumb and animalistic while pokemon that bond with people rise above that. Most families have a pet pokemon usually little ones like skitty or caterpie some have more odd pokemon at least one family has a pet onix (Don't worry it's on the smaller side only 23ft long.)

As for those maps I'm making Letchworth much bigger and moving it a bit on the map. Gonna add an area across the gorge that is entirely dedicated to the rangers for all sorts of things, but HQ is still in the center of town.

I'm still interested as well, if there's still room for me that is. If so, I'll have my character up tomorrow.

I modified my CS in two parts:

The ability section, I changed to Harvest since the whole lightning rod ability wasn't very amicable to ya. :3 I hope harvest is okay?

I also added in a paragraph to explain Linnoh's fighting style and edited some earlier lines to clarify how he actually ranked up. I left it vague as to include the graduation ceremony if you want to reference it later, and wrapped it up to as far as "what he's doing today" kinda sorta.

Lemme know if I need to change it.

@Izuriel Steam Seems just fine. Only question I have left is where did you get the name? It's not one I've ever heard. His father's name as well Zoch.

@jasonwolf The names Linnoh and Zoch? No where in particular. I normally start with a word and just throw random letters around.

I literally thought "Minnow, Shinnow, Vennoh, . . . Linnoh!" and stuck with it. For Zoch I started with "Ziltch" :P

@c3p-0halright then. Any parting thoughts to add to the rp. What made you interested and such. Any character left over you'd like to have as a npc?
