So, my IC post is posted and I am officially now involved in things. Next up: Improving my geography and military sections of my nationsheet.

@Voltus_Ventus By the way, is the fairy island play @Gig still here or have they left?

Now I am off to go play some Fallout 4.
I asked Gig, he's in. Just got busy in the last few weeks.
Louis Dabout on the other hand is less likely.

I would buy Fallout 4, but I know my grades would suffer severely as a result, so I'm holding off until December.

I'll probably post again once there are a couple more IC posts soon. I've also lowered my population by 10 million.

I think Fallout 4 has cut the population of the site by at least a quarter, most likely more

While I am enthusiastic, there is nothing that can top the true perfection that marks the very beginning.

At last I am more or less finished with my unit list.
Phew, it did take a while.
There are still blanks in my profile but the very least I have one less thing to fill.

I'm also looking at this from the perspective of the fact that there was no French Revolution in this universe, no massive spread of the ideas of liberalism and nationalism (yet). So naturally any communist movement that appears in this context is going to be less radical in comparison to one in which the ideas of democracy and secularism are already well enshrined.

Yaaas a banner~

I think now's a good time to point out how wonderfully backwards this world turned about compared to ours. I'm not complaining, as I love all the nations here, but its amazing/hilarious that in 1940 hostility against "heathens" can still be part of official policy.

Well, the Ottoman Empire and Saudi Arabia had policies something like that. Even today hostility against "heathens" is continuing with ISIS and the like.

Even then, though, it was fringe (and is even more today, since no one recognizes ISIS). This seems like a more mainstream idea.

To be fair what would you do with nearly a dozen different races, though?
It's one thing to advocate cultural freedoms between fellow humans but I feel it's a miracle that our nations can have members of different races cooperating in a decent way.
And that miracle is often called religion. Before the birth of modern nations the one things which mattered was religion. National identity was negligible compared to one's religious standing.
That being said the nations calling "heathens" or messing with people out of religious motivation are scarce even in this game. It just happens that the Nazis of our setting use the state religion to their cause while the other big player Ceresia just reinstated their empire from roughly the middle ages. I can't call either as "mainstream".

If you're referring to my relations sheet WIP on the history collab calling about everyone a heathen, that's more from the perspective of a pretty religious population. The government doesn't care that much for crusading since that is what historically ruined both the previous empires, and if you missed that vague mention in my post, Thaurissan freaking assassinated the previous Divine Prefect. They might appeal to the state religion, but they still have to curb the power of the church sometimes.

@ZB1996

I'm not sure if this was an intentional inaccuracy in Zenovia due to a lack of information (there probably would be only mere tidbits of information, if anything, about the mass execution that took place) but the mass execution wasn't in Moravia's capital.

It was in Staban, a gritty, industrialized, slum-filled city in Qualia, over in the heartlands of Moravia. The Moravian capital is further west where the Old Moravian Empire was based, and is somewhat like Rome. Beautiful city with big marble buildings, museums and art galleries, no signs of poverty or crime to be seen, and tourists.

It might have been confusing because with almost every time I flashed away from Thaurissan's point of view it was in a different place, but the point of that post was to point out the hypocrisy of Thaurissan and Moravia in general, and illustrate in just how many ways the nation has two faces. He speaks of liberty and how they are in a golden age, and meanwhile conditions are still horrific in some places. He calls the Kataylans cowards and criticized their morals for using Fyrurock, but Moravia has a history of using chemical warfare. There is even parallelism with the very way that Staban was described, with the inner city being a labyrinth of slums and factories why the outskirts have huge skyscrapers and luxury apartments for the rich.

But on a side note, I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but I love all of your posts ZB. Something about them just connects with me; I feel like I'm reading a novel and I feel a primal rage at how I only get to read one or two posts' worth of this novel per week
