The Sun Will Never Set

There is one word that matters in this world, this modern world, that word is progress. It is the fuel that makes us go forward, progress. Progress has lead the great nations of this planets through tough times and it has made easy times easier but progress takes the form of many things. Revolution! Radical new ideas that have the power to shake countries to their foundation. Technology! The beating heart of industrial nations, churning out goods for the masses or the beating wings of an artisan society propelled by new techniques and materials. War! Battling against your enemies to further your culture, faith, territory. And diplomacy, to build bridges over rough water and to walk to the other side to embrace your comrade. Progress takes many forms, will your progress stand the test of time?

The last 150 years have been a roller coaster of progress, technologies and ideologies spread like wild fire and contest against each other, long lived monarchies were toppled by the power of their people, the sky was added to the domain of man with the introduction of flight! The seas were tamed by ships of steel, sailing across choppy water to bring trade or to wage war, the land was crisscrossed by vast stretches of rail that carried the fruits of the earth to factories and carried back wondrous products. Culture spread from one end of the globe to the other with the power of film and radio and religions contested one another for followers. This is a glorious new age, an age where The Sun Will Never Set.

Welcome to "The Sun Will Never Set", a fantasy nation RP set in a time that resembles the 1930's-1940's and is focused on the themes and technologies of the time, including colonialism, looming wars and spheres of influence. In this RP I intend on completely limiting the use of stats, facts and figures and instead will rely on character interaction and mutual agreement to build he history of the planet, yes, even the wars will not be stat based but instead will be fought between players and an outcome will be decided between them, whether they want to use stats or not. So, basically I'm giving you guys a lot of responsibility and I expect maturity, no super duper nations and the understanding that it is OK to be on the LOSING side; its fine if your tank army is beaten by a rag tag group of revolutionaries, it only serves to add to the story! It's all up to how you guys want to play it out.

1. My word is law, it is final unless I go back on it. I would love to hear ideas, opinions and suggestions but if I don't say yes, please don't flip out.

2. I only want LIGHTHEARTED debates in the OOC, I don't want to see hide nor hair of a legit argument. Either calm down or resolve it in PM.

3. No Godmodding/Powergaming/Metawhatsit, what is stated in the OOC that has credence in the RP is not known to your characters unless it meant to be known.

4. Grammar and spelling must be readable. Posts should not be one sentence. I want to see some good paragraphs. Of course if there's not much to post, that's fine, post it anyway.

5. STAY ACTIVE! PLEASE! If your are thinking of joining the NRP, keep in mind I require that you post at least once every two days (OOC I would like an IC post once a week from every though). I get things can get hectic in life, but want to see this be fairly active and not die four posts into the IC. Let us know if you are going on some sort of extended absence and try to tie up any loose ends so you don't leave other players hanging.-

6. The Great War Machines! Now war is always fun to have in NRPs, and I am going to be very liberal on big nations possessing some massive war machine. However, the few restrictions I will apply is that you can't just whip it out on every battle and they will be generally be slow moving. Other than that, go nuts! Just understand they are not really there to win your nation a war, but to add to the world and have a Goliath for David to face. Be reasnable please, please?

7. On that note, technology in general! I will say that we shall limit it generally to something of the early 1910's AKA, no jets at all, wider diversity of armored vehicles and aircraft, etc. Flying wings and such will be allowed and to be honest, I will just play it by ear.

8. Have fun! No really, I'm being half serious here. This is a fantasy/adventure based NRP with notable characters, places, and wars alike! Don't get to caught up in realism and just sit back and let things slide by. We are all here to have a good time, so simply shrug and move on from it.

I'm just going to pop down my WIP NS, you will notice that the history is blank, I'll be adding in some text book stuff but also some important events between my country and others.

Government and Economy

Type of Government: The government of Ventium is an Elective Monarchy, meaning that the people choose the next Tsar/Tsarina from the offspring of the previous leader. However it is not as simple as that, there are many laws/rules/regulations that are enforced, here are some:

- A new leader will be elected if any of these criteria are met: death of the current leader; abdication from the throne by the current leader; the current leader becomes unfit to rule.
- Candidates for election must be offspring of the out-going leader (Be they legitimate or otherwise).
- A candidate must be 21 or above to participate as a candidate.
- There must be a minimum of 4 candidates, if the out-going leader has less; the needed amount may be chosen from nieces or nephews; if there is offspring below 25 the election can be postponed until they become of age; if this is the case the country is to be lead by the out-going leader/his or her spouse/an interregnum.
- Once a leader has been elected, the previous will aid as an advisor to the new for 6 months to brief the actions of the previous government.
- A leader may only marry another Ventian, making the children pure Ventian, the partner will hold no power unless granted, the partner can come from any class.

Economy: The Ventian Economy is metal based, the value of the currency is directly proportional to the value of silver, gold, platinum and palladium within the treasuries and foreign currency reserves. The royal treasury, reserve and mint are all controlled by the sovereign, to ensure that prices cannot be tampered with, this is done keeping the interests of the Ventian people in mind, keeping prices stable by limiting inflation and deflation. The economy is built on the back of primary and secondary resources, shelling out ores, metal bars, timber and lumber for gold, silver, platinum and palladium, the reason why heavy industrial products aren't traded out in a mass scale is due to the way industry functions. What little factories the country has are all state owned, not only factories but mines, railroads and docks are all state owned; agriculture to a certain extent is also state owned, meaning the state owns and employs people to work on their farms. There are three denominations in the currency, Crowns, Shillings and Pennies; there are 20 Pennies in a Shilling and 12 shillings in a crown. 1 Crown can be taken to the federal reserve and be cashed in for 1 oz. of gold or 40 oz. of silver; 1 Shilling can be cashed in only in silver at a rate of 3.3 oz. per Shilling; And 1 Penny can be cashed in for nothing but a Penny bond unless there is an equivalent in Pennies of Crowns or Shillings. With this system the economy is self regulating, when people need money they can exchange their gold for it, this would balance out ability to demand and supply, reducing inflation and keeping things affordable for those on fixed or low incomes.

History, Demographics, and Culture.

Primary Species: Human, almost all of which are white, with browns and blacks being the most prevalent hair colors, and browns and hazels being the most prevalent eye colors. Male Ventians grow to become 6'2 on average and females 5'6.

Population: 43,678,100 (1903 Census)

Culture: The Ventian culture has been described to have three main pillars, Conservatism, Modesty and Tradition. Conservatism in the form of looking after what they have, not seeking change where it is not needed and in everyday life, people aren't seen wearing bright colors on the streets and everything is neat and in it's place, some would call Ventians plain, they prefer unassuming. Modesty is another large part of their culture, if you have something don't flaunt it, men and woman don't wear expensive looking things often to increase unity and stop division between classes; one example of this was the royal wedding between Voltus Ventus and Maria Despereaux, when she had a dress made, Voltus ordered a dress to be made for every woman in the land and paid from his personal funds, just so everyone could look nice and not be jealous of each other. Finally Tradition, there are many customs and norms that have been steadfastly followed by the Ventian people for hundreds of years, some of these include woman never cutting their hair and men wearing trench coats outside, almost all people observe these rules, even the Tsar and Tsarina; this pillar is said to be interchangeable with loyalty or respect, as they have remained loyal to their tradition or respect them by carrying them out to this day.

Religious and other Beliefs: Ventian Monoclasticism is the dominant religion in Ventium, it asserts at the core of it's belief that there is only one all seeing, omniscient God and he controls the ebb and flow of the universe, dishing out blessing and punishment as he see's fit. The religion teaches it's followers to be patient, respecting, tolerant and worldly; to constantly seek out knowledge for the betterment of the faith and all mankind. The holy text of Monoclasticism, The Book of Monoclast, contains the words of God, to be precise his instructs to all his people, wisdoms and lessons, morals and ways to live one's life, they are all written within The Book of Monoclast.

History:

Medieval Era

The period between the 5th and 11th century CE was a turbulent time in Ventian history, it was a time when small feudal states ruled over the majority of what is today mainland Ventium. They were constantly waring against each other.

Geography, Agriculture, and Industry

Territory: (Be considerate of others, but also be aware we need space filled. Put your map claim here.)

Climate: The south of Ventium generally receives milder weather then the north, due to it's geographical proximity to the equator, the south received on average 600mm of rainfall a year, with some areas having general highs and lows. Due to the Ventian Coastal Vault, a large mountain chain that takes up most of the southern coast, oceanic winds cannot penetrate over and into the interiors of Ventium, this means that most if not all of southern Ventium receives little wind; however winds do on occasion come from the south west, coming over The Fuscum Sea and to the southern border but it is negligible due to most of its energy being expended traveling over uncultivated land. Much of the southern interior, namely the areas to the south west, are marsh the rest being grasslands that are used for cultivation; massive earth work projects are currently taking place in the western marshes to divert the water flow for irrigation and reclaim the unarable. The south has large forested regions, of which most are protected by the king due to them being his property, there is a wide variety of trees in the south but almost all are nonconiferous trees like Jacarandas, Birches and oaks; the only place where coniferous trees like pines mix with nonconiferous are the footlands, an area of land at the foot of the northern highlands, just south enough for leafy trees to grow. To the north of the sweeping southern plains comes the snowy highlands, the north of which is completely frozen over all year round and gradually getting warmer the further south one goes; Ventium's mineral wealth comes from valleys and mountains of the rugged north. As for wildlife, Ventium boasts a modest amount of animal species, things like Deer, Foxes, Hares, Timber Wolves and smaller rodent like mammals tend to live in the southern forests; In the north animals like Gray Wolves, Mountain Goats and Moose tend to be more common, though rare animals like Mammoths tend to live at the northern most extremes, where it is always cold. In the footlands, where the two world converge, animals tend to mix and cross species tend to be more common, like Deer-Moose and Graytimber Wolves; however a creature specific only to the footlands is the Ventian Mountain Lion, a reclusive animal that only appears a few times but is none the less very dangerous.

Agriculture: Is a large part of the Ventian economy, due in part because of the large swaths of fertile land and also because of a relatively small industrial sector, though the government is officially not in control of agriculture, it extends de facto power over it through rules, regulations and massive government owned farms. It supports regional markets and trade in local produce, it does this by promoting the importance of supporting farmers and by insuring good prices for none state produces relative to that of the market. In the early 1800's canals were dug, cross crossing Ventium, hundreds of miles were carved out of the earth. They were initially used to transport people, goods and materials but once the rails were completed in the late 1800's, they fell into disuse until they were repurposed for irrigation and opened for public use, everyone who lives by a canal owns one of the long, thin, quiet motor boats that have become easily recognizable as Ventain Canalers. A growing sector of the agricultural economy is fish farming, the sea based version of cattle rearing, over fishing in the early 1900's and unsustainable fishing methods lead the sky rocketing of fish prices and the decimation of the wild fish stocks; opening their waters to foreign trawlers to fish as much fish as they could take, now Ventium has comprehensive schemes to bring back wild fish and is encouraging fish farming to decrease dependency on foreign fish and their own dwindled stocks.

Industry: Ventium doesn't have many factories, the only ones there are are arms, chemical and munitions factories and they are state owned but what Ventium does have is a huge artisan community. The government has taken advantage of the skills of the artisans and encouraged them to produce the products the country needs, different provinces and municipalities have different artisanal skills, some are better at working metal and some at making leather products. The government has allotted each province a production goal, to produce this much of this by this time, artisans apply for production licenses and these will guarantee that the government will buy their goods at a set price; with this assurance they are encouraged to produce more because the government is obliged to buy it. The government however does have control over how much is made, by decreasing and increasing prices of products, artisans can be encouraged and discouraged from making certain goods and instead turn to things that make more money. Though having a license is optional for artisans, as they can still make products but won't have a guarantee that they will be bought. Due to all factories being owned by the government, when artisans want to open large workshops or foundries or what-have-you, they have to apply for government permission; the property has to be between 30,000 and 50,000 square feet and can only employ 110 workers in total, a person can only own two of these large workshops and there is a set amount that can be functioning in each province at any one time; alternatively most artisans work from the home. At the end of a production cycle, the products of each province are collected, distributed, stockpiled or sold by the government. Though the government has a strict quality programs, setting out specifications for the products produced, if products don't meet these requirements, they are not bought. Though there are licenses that guarantee one's products are bought by the government, the licenses only apply to essentials like buckets, ropes, barrels and spades, luxury goods like jewelry and fine clothes have no licensing, however things like simple wrist watches and common clothes (trousers, shirts, overalls, tenchcoats, etc.) do have licenses ensuring tailors and small-smiths have work.

The Ventian Chemical industry is a growing branch of the economy, already producing a large amount of chemicals for near to nothing, Using sea water to electrolysis chlorine and

Royal Ventian Armed Forces

Army:

- Standard Infantry Section (Smallest None Special Forces Divisional Unit): A Section consists of 10 Infantry man, recognizable by their Olive-Drab, felt trench-coats and dark brown berets, the berets have regimental patches sewn onto the front indicating regiment, battalion and company of the soldier. Overtop the trench-coat, a soldier would have a combat harness on, with front facing pouches for ammunition, grenades and other equipment; on top of that they would wear their backpack; in cold weather they are provided with gloves, thermals and scarves. Within a section, there are 9 designated rifle men, they carry the standard issue Vz .32 (M1 Carbine), chambered in .32 and a 9mm pistol (Browning Hi-Power), three of these rifle men have specialized roles, one is a combat medic, the other a radio operator and the last a Grenadier, armed with a Vr-42 rocket launcher (M1 Bazooka), the grenadier doesn't carry a handgun or entrenching tools due to the weight of the Vr-42 and its ammunition; the only non rifleman is the squad gunner, armed with a Vmg-22 light machine gun (FM 24/29), they too are not given a handgun or entrenching equipment due to carry load.

- Scunedigarian Fusilier Corps (Affectionately dubbed The Colonial Rifels): Are elite Ventian rifle men, they are trained to operate in hostile, unforgiving conditions and deep behind enemy lines; their tactics are based heavily off of asymmetric guerrilla warfare, mobility and shock factor. All go through an intensive one year training program, taking them around the empire to train in extreme climates and conditions, making them highly versatile and durable. They have a distinctive uniform that differs from that of the standard soldiers, they wear khakis to start with, often due to the warmer climates that they operate in, shorts and shirts in high temperatures; however they do have cold uniforms in the form of fur jackets. A very distinct part of the uniform is the iconic leather slouch hat, a wide brimmed hat, with one side of the brim pinned to the cap with the crest pin of where they come from (dominions, colonies or core Ventians). Over their uniforms, they were a pouched bandolier, in the cavalry style, as opposed to the harness that standard soldiers have and wear backpacks over top this, on their lefts there are holsters for standard issued 9mm pistols, and to their rights they have sheathed Scunedigars (Short Sabers). As for their primary weapons, they are armed with older model Vz .30-06 (M1 Garand), due to their ruggedness, higher power ammunition and accuracy, though with a reduced fire rate.

- Mechanized Dragoons: Are the modern day Ventian cavalry, fast, mobile and frankly a bit scary, much like other parts of the Ventian armed forces, The Dragoons feature tremendous shock value. They are based off the traditional Ventian mounted unit, The Cuirassier, though the living, breathing horse has since been phased out of active service and replaced with mechanized steeds, rugged metal horses driven by pistons and pneumatic actuators and clad in aluminum alloy plates. Their riders are elite cavalry men and woman, trained in equestrian arts and drilled to be the best; They ride low in their saddles, using pressure plates on either side of the horse to turn, removing the need for traditional reigns and allowing the rider to stick closer to the machine and make his/her shape less easy to shoot at.

Kingdom of Setra

History

History

Though the species showed some degree of intelligence there lack of any kind notable verbal or written language and there size made the idea of them being sentient a distant idea. Even upon the discovery of hollowed out trees and mounds that the Fay has constructed themselves didn't impress the settlers for many insect species where capable of equal or superior feats of construction. Even supposed accounts of Fay harvesting honey from Bee hives where explained away by other species such as hornets doing the same the very idea of the Fay raising the Bees as livestock was simply unthinkable. This lack of understanding possibly saved there culture from extermination for the settlers didn't see them as a rival that needed to be removed a fate that had befallen many other cultures that had stood in the way of this wave of migration. Instead the Fay where looked upon as a curiosity a potentially useful animal similar to a cat or a dog. The settlers had seen the Fays intelligence after all the Fay had taken advantage of the settlers. The towns and ports in which the settlers had made there homes had become perfect hunting grounds for small insects that the Fay favoured as supplementary meals in there diets, and the settlers saw some use in this small creatures. The settlers needed something to send back home, the promised wealth of the new world had been less than imagined and the settlers desperately needed something to have made the venture worthwhile and that something turned out to be the Fay. Capturing specimens had been relatively easy the creatures where small and numerous in the Americas and where more or less harmless due to there tiny size. The Fay where a hit in the homeland, the creatures cute appearance, practical function at removing small pests, low maintenance and friendly disposition made them incredibly popular pets especially among woman and children. In less than a century the Fairy had become by far the most popular pet among Elvish families even the Emperor himself had a small colony of the creatures living within the palace brought in at the behest of his daughters. Just how intelligent the Fay where was first discovered by the now famous scientist Hîr Tebaroah Bacitiuh, a lesser elven noble, who claimed that his pet Fairy Scarlet was capable of not only holding a conversation in elvish but also being capable of reading and writing Elvish perfectly. Marveled by his discovery he published his findings in the year 1531 with high hopes, his papers where universally slandered by his peers. It was a well known fact that the Fay where good at imitation it was one of the many novelties that had made them popular pets but the idea that it was anything more than imitation was preposterous and Tebaroah Bacitiuh career was all but over any respect he may have had stripped away.

1648-1650 was a dark time for the The Heavenly Empire of Yllendthyr, years of oppression and mistreatment by there elven master had caused the majority human population to break out in revolt chaos ravaged the empire as human rebels classed with the imperial military. Desperate for resources both sides began to viciously harvest the colonies vast rain forests, wood was an important resource it was used in the construction of the rebels muskets, imperial bows and arrows as well as ships, spear shafts and last but no means least construction of bases and camps. This ceaseless destruction of there home brought about a change in the local Fay, for over 200 years the Fay had welcomed the settlers for there settlements had brought with them value perfect safe hunting grounds for the small insects that the fey needed for protean. But this sudden aggression was unacceptable the settlers had leveled countless settlements and killed thousands of there kind without provocation, all attempts to communicate with the titans had been fruitless for they where incapable of understanding them. Even the few who could understand and speak the strange verbal language of the titans where ignored or where treated condescendingly like some trained animal preforming a trick. There was only one option left to the peaceful Fay violence descending from the rain forest like a swarm of locus. The vast swarm attacked both parties indiscriminately armed with nothing more than small spears crafted from the thorns of plants and coated in the poison of the most dangerous animal the rain forest had to offer. The sudden aggression of the Fay took both parties by surprise. At first both sides continued to fight, the Fay merely became another natural hazard of the forest and even with the sheer numbers of the creatures insects where still just insects. Neither side knew what they where truly dealing with the Fay where not mindless insects as the giants had assumed in there ignorance. For the Fay where just as intelligent and cunning as the best of the titans, Launching countless raids upon both the rebel and imperial forces had hit both armies hard seeing a hopeless fight against nature the imperials retreated to there ships a tactical withdraw until they could figure out what to do reports needed to be sent.

The rebels thought it a victory, they had driven off the imperial forces and they could deal with the local wildlife and regain control, they where wrong despite there size the Fay had an overwhelming advantage. The imperial general Lerlebt Tagnett had quickly realised this the attacks of the Fay where not akin to a mindless swarm of wasps that had lashed out upon those that had disturbed there nest. The attacks where tactical the creatures where not only attacking strategic locations such as supply camps, and ports they also knew exactly where and when to attack. He had witnessed it with his own eyes as the tiny Fay brought down soldiers 50x there size threw coordinated teamwork it would have been awe inspiring if not for the circumstances. Lerlebt Tagnett knew he had been defeated he had been glad that he recognized the true threat his men faced in his report he emphasized that he believed that wasting resources fighting this new threat would be pointless. He believed that the Fay's hostility in the new world made the area dangerous and the resources required to even have a chance to benefit from the territory where well beyond the rebel's capacity to support. Over next 2 years the rebels in the new world where constantly harassed, there supposed hold over the colonies had done them little in the war in the empire. The war had become more or less centered upon the homelands in the east. Logging had become all but impossible even approaching the rainforest was incredibly dangerous as Fay ambushes could be sprung without warning leading to heavy casualties. The most disturbing thing for the men of the colonies wasn't the fact that the wildlife had become hostile it was what the wildlife was capable of there had been reports. Reports of the Fay doing the impossible making use of stolen or looted muskets and pistols, it was impossible the creatures where far too small to even lift the weapons to make use of them, they weren’t even supposed to be intelligent but they had all seen what the Fay had done. Mounting the stolen weaponry upon tiny carriages built by the Fay themselves they had created tiny makeshift Fay cannons which they had used to deadly effect against the rebel forces. The rebels had tried multiple times to flush out the Fay but finding the creatures was near impossible the terrain favoured them massively the Fay had evolved in the rainforests and where perfectly adapted to survival in this land something the humans where not. There none verbal means of communication allowed them to plan attacks in complete silence something the rebels where incapable of it was a war few could hope to win.

Eventually in 1650 the civil war in Yllendthyr ended with both sides reaching a compromise, and for another year the colonies remained under constant threat from Fay attacks. Any opposition to the species sentience had been dismissed as the reports from the colonies had begun to flood back home and soon the research of Tebaroah Bacitiuh had become a topic great interest among the scholar elite. War with the Fay simply wasn't an option for Yllendthyr the civil war had made her weak, she needed time to recover and the de-facto loss of the colonies was a blow, left with but option the elves did what the elves did best they resorted to diplomacy. Diplomacy hadn't been easy the strange Fay creatures language was beyond the elves ability to understand though they had learned the basics of the language and how it worked thanks to the works Tebaroah. It had still proven impossible for the elves to read it they simply lacked the means to differentiate subtleties in shades which they had learned could cause huge misunderstandings. Making use of a former pet Fay that had identified herself as Greeny Yellow house servant. A Fay that lived in Yllendthyr as the pet of a university teacher of Elvish language. The diplomat Hiril Sa'rea Goodnelh had discovered that the creature was capable of understanding every word in the elven language a feat her owner had been very proud of but unwilling to reveal fearing scrutiny. Greeny Yellow preformed admirably she had managed to quickly contact her kind in the rainforest the local Fay and had managed to persuade them to meet with the Hiril Sa'rea. Using Greeny Yellow Fay translator (name change due to job change) Sa'rea made incredible progress as she explained threw her translator the situation that had to current events to the local Fay lead by one Purple Princess queen to be. Purple Princess queen to be had been satisfied with Sa'rea's explanation of events, Sa'rea had used logic to point out the long peace with there peoples that had lasted over 200 years, and that hostility had broken out not due to the actions of the elves but of a rebel faction of humans. Sa'rea further emphasised how the imperial army had retreated not wishing to cause further loss of life among both parties Purple accepted the explanation for she herself had witnessed the retreat of the imperial army. After a day of negotiations both had parties had agreed to cease hostilities, and further negotiations where conducted Sa'rea had completed her objective of restoring peaceful relations with the Fay, but Sa'rea was ambitious like all elves she strived for success. Continuing negotiations for another 2 days Sa'rea secured exclusive fishing rights for Yllendthyr in the region, in addition she had persuade Purple to grant Yllendthyr co-ownership of a strip of land on the coast that roughly corresponded with the old colonies.

The deal had been a huge success in return Purple had requested three things:
1. Purple Princess Queen to be desired to learn more about the Elves and the world requesting that the elves send individuals to educate her people on various topics ranging from verbal language to science.
2. To allow trade with her people the Princess wishing to trade for the strange shiny material the elves used in the construction of some of there items.
3. That her people be allowed to continue to work within the boundaries of the empire free of discrimination, Purple had been pleased to hear from Greeny Yellow Elvish Translator of the kind and just treatment her people had received within the empire.

Hiril Sa'rea Goodnelh received near universal praise for her diplomacy armed but with words and her own intellect Sa'rea had regained much that had been lost in the civil war and brought an entire people under the sway of the empire.

The Fay

Appearance:
Fairy's look somewhat like tiny elves with beautifully coloured wings, and exotically coloured skin and hair with green, blue, pink, teal, red, purple, being the most common in that order and with it being most common to have matching skin and hair.

Biology:
According to the studies of Charles Dwarfwin from the last century, Fairy, The Fay or Dolarpapilo are believed to have evolved from a now extinct species of Lepidoptera, there closest living relative being Morpho peleides. Fairy's are a unique strange species. They are by far the smallest known species that have attained true sentience a fact that had been originally overlooked upon first contact by Elven and human settlers of the Americas. Fairies have evolved very differently from most of the vertebrate races that inhabit the world the most notable being there minuscule size with the average height for both genders being a mere 4.6 inches tall with the largest known specimen being an exceptionally large male individual called Oberon who was documented to be just over 6 inches tall. The other major evolutionary feature of the Fay is there means of communication though capable of verbal speech due to an evolutionary trait that allows them to perfectly mimic around 72% of sounds they hear. This feature though had never been used for communication between individuals until the arrival of other sapient species to there homeland roughly 418 years ago. Until then the Fay used there beautiful wings and superior eyesight for communication, as was discovered by the famous Charles Dwarfwin the Fay are capable of seeing ultraviolet light which allows them to see colours that humans and even elves can't even comprehend. This combined with the Fay's ability to alter the patten and colouration of there wings allowed them to communicate with members of there species. It has been noted by observation that each possibly combination of colour possesses a completely different meaning, even the slightest variation in shade or order in which colours are displayed can cause what appears to be two identical pattens to mean completely different things altogether.

Fay breed normally happens during the summer a male will seek out the most beautiful object he can find traditionally a flower once a suitable object has been found he will create a nest on the object in question. (Some modern Fay may instead create an artificial nest) Once a suitable object is claimed he will sing by combining the most interesting sounds that he has heard in his life in an attempt to attract a female to his flower. Once a female responds and find him she will first begin by inspecting the male and his choice of nest this allows the female to determine both the males physique and intelligence. If he has selected a poor nest or is found to be lacking physically she will leave the male who will continue to sing until a female accepts him. If the female finds him and his selection of nest pleasing she will begin the courtship ritual by mimicking his song while using her wings to converse with him to learn as much about him as possible. After learning as much as she desires the Female will land upon the nest and will offer herself to the male and mating will begin. After mating has been completed the Female will lay between 40 – 60 eggs. After she finishes laying she will rest while the chosen male leaves to find food for his mate and young. The eggs take roughly a week to hatch into tiny caterpillars 5mm in size. In the days before the hatching the father will spend his entire time searching for food trying to amass enough too feed his young and mate for the entire pre-infancy period roughly 14 days. Over the next 14 days the caterpillars will spend there every waking hour consuming food growing constantly until eventually they will be ready to enter there chrysalis at this point the caterpillars will be around 1cm in size. The caterpillars will remain in the chrysalis for up to 3 weeks after which they will emerge as tiny infant fay 4 - 6mm tall. Once the last of her young emerges the mother will leave the nest with her young brood to find a suitable permanent home for her large family. Leaving the father behind who will either return to his home or will seek another mate depending on his mood.

Language:
The Fay language is based upon the use of colours every single colour and shade has a meaning within the Fay languagbusingd the written language is also based upon this. Many Fay roughly 69% are also capable of speaking New Elvish which is by far the most common verbal language known by the species despite it being so widely known it almost never used for conversing with another member of the species outside of use in the military on radio.

Naming:
Fay names are based upon colours which are approximate translations from there own colour based language Fay will normally also give a description of the colour in an attempt to differentiate themselves from other Fay. The reason for this being there aren't words to describe every shade of colour used by the Fay, for an example there are over 11'000 names in the Fay language which will translate into Pink which would make it the most common verbal name among the Fay.

Society

Troll society is simple traditionally Trolls lived in tribes of various sizes which would normally consist of several closely related individuals numbering from 3 – 40 lead by an alpha who is the largest individual in the tribe which will normally be the eldest male, although it isn't unheard of for an exceptionally large female to assume the role. Unlike The Fay the other natives of the isles which trolls call home they weren’t so lucky when the waves of settlers first arrived. While the Fay managed to avoid enslavement or persecution due to the settlers ignorance. The Trolls where not so lucky there intelligence despite being inferior to that of both the Fay and the settlers was easily noticeable

Within the Kingdom of Setra trolls possess a role similar to those of the lower classes in human society generally doing hard physical work and other such tasks that are beyond the ability of there Fay countrymen.

Trolls are one of if not the last remaining Therapsid species (mammal like reptile) on the planet while most Therapsids evolved into modern mammals. The Trolls ancestor took a different path of evolution eventually resulting in the modern troll. Troll as Therapsids have rough scaly skin like most reptilian species and lay solid eggs, there similarities with reptiles end there. Like mammals Trolls possesses a warm blooded metabolisms which allows them to remain active threw out the entire day. In addition trolls also have a mammary gland which they use to rear there infant young. Trolls are a carnivorous species before the arrival of foreign settlers to the Setra isles they where the dominant apex predators upon the island. Physically trolls are stronger than most other species being roughly 1.5x as strong as the average human. Trolls are naturally sluggish creatures, slow to react but are incredibly patient being willing to sit and do nothing for hours sometimes even days.

Trolls within the Kingdom of Setra normally speak trollish a North Germanic style language, though recently the language has begun to decline in favour of Elvish the most common verbal language among The Fay, many trolls and even some of the more nationalistic Fay have begun to campaign for trollish to be made the official verbal state language due to worries that the language will eventually go extinct as Elvish grows in popularity.

Setran Religion

The Fay worship a pair of deities known as the twins one male and one female, Setra the divine mother goddess of warmth, and bringer of life she is worshiped during summoner and spring by the fay who idolise her above all others her loving rays of light bringing great joy to her mortal children, the fay believe that Setra either reside within or is embodied by the sun itself.

Malacar lord of the cold night, is a deity who is worshiped during the months of autumn and winter, unlike Setra Malacar is a god feared and respected by the fay due to his cold indifference towards his children, Malacar is the opposite of his consort Setra for while she is a blazing beacon of life and hope he is a void of cold and despair, the fay believe that Malacar resides within the moon.

The Setran Monarchy

The Kingdom's government is a constitutional monarchy lead by there queen, The current Queen Violet Queen (her surname is unique as such she doesn't go into detail on her first name as most Fay do) has reigned for the past 22 years, she is a beloved monarch who has maintained the long peace with the Empire Yllendthyr, while simultaneously attempting to open trade and bring about good relation with the other nation states of the world despite the numerous difficulties other races have with taking the Fay seriously she has been successful in this endeavour so far. The Kingdom of Setra is divided into 6 million communities of various sizes which are placed within the jurisdiction of 600,000 counties each lead by an elected governor, which are in turn divided into 60,000 provinces each lead by an elected minister. These minister form the parliament of the kingdom and from among there ranks the Queen will select a prime minster whose duty is to advise the queen on all matters of importance and sometimes even rule in her absence. Due to the sheer size of this parliament decisions are not come to by vote but the absolute decree of the queen, a minister duty is simply to convey the desires, wishes and worries of the people of his province. Upon the death of the queen she is succeeded by whom is believed to be her most talented daughter several candidates will be selected based upon there achievements and how well they excelled in there education. Once the list has been shortened to 100 or so individuals parliament will vote on whom they believe will make the most suitable queen.

The Fay economy is based primarily based around micro industry, such as the building of primitive computers and other electrical goods, Farming, the raising of livestock, Fishing.

Fishing:
A very large industry within the kingdom of Setra and once the backbone of the the state during the early modern period the fishing industry is primary located within the former Yllendthyr co-operation zone a small strip of territory on the coast of the kingdom that was once governed jointly by the Kingdom of Setra and the Empire Yllendthyr. The co-operation zone has the highest population of none Fay in the Kingdom with an estimated 470,000 elves and 1.4 million humans and 3.6 million trolls calling the region home which makes up less than 1% of the regions total population. The majority of the none Fay/troll population are career fisherman harvesting the fish for shipment to the Empire of Yllendthyr who rent the rights to fish in the kingdoms waters.

Farming:
The Fay are are an omnivorous species, who primary eat vegetation there diet primarily consists of sweet foods such as honey, fruits such as apples, pairs and oranges and nectar from flowers. The Fay are experts at growing such produce and raising Bees for collecting honey both for there own consumption and export. In the Fay society bees hold a special place taking on a role similar to that of domesticated sheep or cows within other society. It is almost unheard of for a Fay settlement that doesn't have its own Bee hive/ranch and honey is by far the most popular food within the kingdom.

Micro industry:
The king of Fay industries something that has set the Fay apart from all nations is there absolute mastery over producing of all things small. It is hard to find a technical device that doesn't have something built or manufactured in the kingdom such is there undisputed skill at manufacturing such items. While not necessary a unique skill other races are easily capable of building small moving parts but none are able to do it with the ease or as naturally as the Fay. Due to there small size it is natural for the Fay to build items at such sizes allowing them to create micro sized parts without the aid of the large machinery that other races must employ.

Electronics:
This is what has made Setra a recognizable power on the international scene while for hundreds of the year the Kingdom has been a second rate or worse. The invention of various electronics in the last 30 – 40 years has allowed The Setran state to finally find a niche that has given it some international recognition. The building of small commercial and military grade electronics has made Setra wealthy there primary species The Fay finding the assembly of the tiny components required in the construction of computers, radios, monitor, and other such electrical goods to be almost effortless.

Heavy Industry:
There mastery in the field of Micro industry has not come without its price while the undisputed master of making small moving parts and internal devices for items such as clocks. The Fay are severely lacking in any kind of ability when it comes to heavy industry there small size making very much unsuitable for preforming the tasks. Such industry is generally limited to the former Yllendthyr co-operation zone and is overly dominated by trolls.

Setran Royal Army

Fay Mechanized infantry corps

Design philosophy/tactical use: Fay infantry units are some of the most advanced in the world while the state is known to make use of Troll auxiliary and militia to fill in gaps out of necessity. Trolls have numerous short comings that make them less than ideal there low intelligence being a key factor. Economically the loss of troll lives is also detrimental to the states economy trolls are valued labour force fulfilling a niche in society which is almost impossible for there fay countrymen to fulfil.

To solve these issue research and development have begun development on large (by Fay standards a bit bigger than human) mechanized armour or mechs for short these human sized battle machines though still somewhat experimental have proven incredibly successful on the few field tests that they have been deployed.

Mk2 Colossus was the first successfully developed mechanized armour armed with a powerful chain gun and a blast shield the colossus was built with the idea of forming an impenetrable phalanx that would advance upon the enemy laying down superior fire power. This though wasn’t the case the oversized armour the mech was equipped with made the mech horrendously slow on the move. Though this armour made them incredibly resilient to small arms fire an advantage that was enhanced even further by the phalanx there slow speed made heavier calibre weapons such as artillery absolutely devastating against them. Even the large blast shields that had been equipped to the mechs to protect against such weapons proved useless as artillery shells blasted off legs or made the ground too uneven for the colossus to advance threw effectively.

After the partial success of the Colossus research began on the next generation of mech taking what they had learned on the colossus it was decided that weight needed to be reduced to increase the speed of the machine. Reduction in armour along with improvements in power generation technology allowing for a smaller plant to power the mech made this all possible.

The next generation of mech MK3A Titan was born though less heavily armoured and armed than its predecessor the titan proved to be the far superior machine. Though it lacked the near immunity to smaller arms its predecessor the colossus possessed. The titan made up for it with a vast increase in speed and agility an increase estimated to be over 50% by the developers. Despite the decrease in armour the machine was still more than armoured enough to take several solid hits from the standard issue semi automatic riles in use by other nations. Armament on the machine was also changed from its predecessor the chain gun which had been deemed overkill, had been scaled down to a more reasonable 7mm machine gun with under slung grenade launcher and chain blade. The final innovation on the machine had been the development of a primitive clawed hand allowing the titan some ability to pick up objects an ability its predecessor completely lacked.

Now the Fay plan to capitalize on the overwhelming success of the Titan putting what they have learned from its development and go 1 step beyond. Development of the next generation of mechanized armour has already begun. Plans for a new machine code named Gigantes. The goals of the project are ambitious the team plans to again downscale the machine to increase agility while trying to maintain the same degree of protection the mk3a titan possesses. In addition to the above goals there are plans to develop mechanical hands similar to those of a human to allow the machine to make use of standard issue equipment something both predecessors are incapable of. Though the goals of the project seem impossible with present technology the research team feel confident that they can get out workable prototype within the next few years.

Tank Corps

Design philosophy/tactical use: Tanks are considered the first in a long line of great military innovations by the Setran government. Before the first tanks where rolled out during the last great war the Kingdom of Setra was a militarily inadequate nation under the de-facto control of The Empire of Yllendthyr. This inadequacy wasn't a fault of Setran Government The Fay are by far the most populous race in known world there fast rate of breeding, small size, and small demand on food resources giving them a titanic almost surreal population. The problem the small size that made the Fay species capable of maintaining such a huge population made arming in any relevant way impossible. With the majority of the population incapable of fighting all military durties where fulfilled by the far small troll minority (9 million)

But then came the Tank, The Kingdom of Setra was quick to adopt the tank for it offered Setra away to arm its people a way to forge there own destiny. Since the introduction of tanks the kingdom has produced and refitted 100s if not thousands of these war machines making them suitable for use by the Fay species. While tanks of other nations have small crews of around 5 men such crew sizes are impossible for the kingdom of Setra who instead employ huge 400+strong crews to man there Landships. Setran tanks while appearing similar to there foreign counterparts outwardly internally they couldn't be more different if one was to compare the internal schematics of MK2 Dune-Beetle to another tank they would find that it actually shares more in common with a battleship than a tank.

Tactical use: Setrans organize there tanks divisions similar to how other nations organized there navies, each tank will have a large crew numbering between 400 – 1000 and each vehicle will be commanded by a captain and his subordinate staff officers similar to a warship. Tanks will then be organized into fleets under the command of a senior captain or tank admiral who will rescide on the fleets flag/command tank.

Design philosophy/tactical use: The Setran airforce is a major military branch of the Setran military, Cantered around the powerful Setran sky-fleet which is heavily based upon the successful The Avalian Airborne Fleet. While the majority of the fleet is made up of outdated Avalian ships refitted and commission for use by The Fay the Government has begun to start production on its own airships the first of these new airships is the mighty Avalon class sky-carrier a huge aircraft carrier designed to act as a mobile base and staging ground for military operations, 2 of these mighty vessels have up to now been completed SRN-Avalon and the SRN-Titania.

For aircraft the sky-fleet as access to 2 notable craft the Hornet mk3 interceptor is a small and nimble craft built to take advantage of space saved by having Fay pilots. The Hornet is a fast and agile aircraft but is lightly armed and armoured due to its small size.

The second of these craft is the MK1 Dragonfly a heavy bomber with 4 sets of twin 7mm machine guns housing a crew of nearly 1000 Fay the bomber built more like a small battleship with wings than a plane the Dragonfly has proven itself as not only an effective bomber but a capable air superiority craft with its impressive 360degree coverage of its anti air weaponry. .

Absolute/Administrative Monarchy

On paper, the Emperor works with his Court of nobles and ministers in which they equal each other out with checks and balances. In practice though, the Emperor rules with complete authority, taking the Court as "suggestions" or "advice". This is due to a mix of nepotism and political favors, as much of the Court is friends or members of the Imperial Family. It can be best described as the Emperor doing all the big moves and the Court doing the paper work. Ironically, the minsters and nobles in the court simply force the paperwork to other people within their departments.

The Emperor is chosen from the royal family based on two filters: age and popularity. As in most places, the oldest child has the greatest claim to the throne, but unlike many other places, if a girl is the eldest child, she is crowned Empress. As for popularity, it seems from the old idea that the heavens grant the Emperor the right to rule and thus the Emperor must appease the heavens and subsequently the people. Of course, the entire rule of popularity is mostly a tradition as the eldest will typically get into some spot of power regardless of their favorability.

The Fusan currency is the Jin, which is actually silver backed as gold is seemingly harder to find in the mountains compared to silver. It comes in 10, 100, 200, 500 and 10000 pieces, not becuse of inflation but due to a reason which translates to "because why the fuck not?"

Zensensashi

Zensensashi (often shortened to Zensen), are famous for their incredible cold tolerance, to them, what a human would consider freezing is what they'd consider a "nice day". It goes with obvious note that they do not do well in hot climates, although they do enjoy warm weather and are notable more relax in warmer temperatures.

Appearance wise, they look extremely human like, the only difference is their hair and eyes and some other unique body features. Black hair is the most common hair color and come with streaks of other dark colors like dark violet, navy blue, and crimson. Their eyes are also a notable "dual layered", having two colors to an eye in a way that looks layered, having a solid "base eye" and then a slightly transparent "overlay". Zensen also boast of two things which easily identify them from any human, a devil-like tail and geometric lines at dance on their bodies.

Mentally, the entire race are reserved and nice, but are mild airheads. They're smart, but also derpy. This is most evident in their military arms, of which are mostly copies of foreign weapons but the ones they designed themselves are... interesting to say the least. However, despite being a very humble and gentle race, generations of constant war has hardened them, making them aggressive and suspicious if they are provoked. This is only compounded by the intense adoration of the Imperial Family, of which may or not be a result of heavy propaganda.

Zensensashi are basically Japanese people on ice with anime hair and hair colors, interesting eyes and lines on their bodies. They're a bunch of intelligent idiots but are kind at heart. While they typically are reserved, don't fuck with them outside of the bedroom. For all intensive purposes, calling them Fusan Humans are acceptable.

Culture:
Fuso is an interesting fusion of traditional and modern with the main values being of honor, modesty (behavior wise) and loyalty. Despite all three of these virtues being from ancient times, they have role in modern life. In most cases, the people do not lie but instead use ambiguous wording or lack of details in place of it. Through generations of Imperial reverence and propaganda, loyalty to the Emperor is the all important cornerstone of life. Zealous faith in their leader has lead to jokes about the nation being less of a monarchy than a theocracy. Sticking through out as people seldom double cross or betray. Modesty is not as much of a virtue, but something more in line with common sense, you act nice and you don't boast. All of these are somewhat flexible should the situation require it however, this sort of act is most notable in military and government.

There is another major aspect of Fusan culture which can be described as famous or infamous depending on who you ask, promiscuity. As part of the Golden Emperor's policies on increasing child birth rates after the Age of Strife, a complete change in fashion and soceity had ensued. Fusan fashion is famously known for its revealing looks while its laws about it is much more liberal and pubic displays of affection is a much more common event.

Religious and Other Beliefs:
Modern Fusans belive in the Imperial Cult, also known as Tengarashi which says the Imperial Family is descendant of gods and will rise to god hood upon death. Of course, the traditional religion of Inshingu is still practice in great numbers, being the foundation of Tengarashi. Inshingu is a polytheistic religion headed by the over-god Amaburi (that's literally what his title is). Think of real world Shintoism and you're basically there.

History:
The history of Fuso can be summed up as a violent one. In the early times, it was a land of several tribes who had all splintered off after the first ruler who brought them together died without an heir. Since then the tribes became clans which had fought a century before peace was once again restored. The people prospered and culture developed as a proud civilization grew. But, times got rough again. Mysterious droughts began to plagued the land for almost the entirety of the mid to late 1100, which would then continues to cause all sorts of food shortages and could suddenly turn to destructive floods for the next 600 years. People blamed the misfortunate them as acts of the Heavens showing the weakness of the current ruler. Despite being able to retain his position, the Emperor was loosing powers as more and more people began to have more faith in their local lords.

Then, in 1200, as the power of the Emperor waned, a three way feud between some clans erupted into a full scale civil war. A war that would go on almost endlessly for the next 500 years. With men dying off by the masses, women were eventually drafted into the military of the various lords to supplement manpower. This tradition would stay in effect even after unification as by the time the Age of Strife ended

It wasn't until the Saiyariharka Clan unified the lands under the golden bloom and Orisanio Shohu was crowned the First Golden Emperor. Orisanio quickly set about rebuilding the nation, taking the time to invite foreigners to develop and industrialize his country. Orisanio had enact policies like the Birthing Privileges Act which urged people to have more children, the Golden Crown Act that stabilized the national currency, and the Divine Iron Act which promoted rapid industrialization. Most of his ideas had been carried out with such great haste and efficiency, people overlooked the nepotism in his court and so of just decided it was only natural.

Now, Orisanio, enshrined as the Golden Emperor of Glory, has passed his leadership through the generations where it now lands on the Emperor Tananao Shohu. Stressing the traditional values built in the 500 year's war or "Age of Strife", the new Emperor Shohu looks to the horizon to live up to his great grandfather's legacy.

The capital city of the Empire is the Imperial Palace, otherwise known as "Satatsuma". Its an epic complex which has become a full blown city in the years since its creation.

Climate:
Being so far up north, its not surprise that Fuso is cold, its seasons being varying shades of cold from "nippy", to "freezing" to "holy shit the air is freezing". Of course, the native people have no qualms about it, they're used to it and find it actually pretty comfortable. The summer and spring are of course warmer, enough to encourage people to go out and farmer to plant crops.

Agriculture:

Being a nation of islands and oceans, Fuso uses both terrance farming and newer "Ocean Gardens", floating farms attached to land. Ocean Gardens are either small things that can float or grand man made islands.

Crops wise, the nation produces great quantities of Snow Rice which are able to grow in the cold climates well. Sparse amounts of barely and slightly larger amounts of wheat are also grown, but are considered a premium, nobleman's food while rice is seen as the staple food for everyone. Eaten with the staple rice are meats like fish, cow and goat along with a variety of vegetables as crisp and fresh as mountain ice. Of these, Fusan Kusa goat meat and Tachima mountain herbs are considered the iconic expensive food, like truffles or wagu beef.

Industry:

Industrial might of Fuso can be said to origin from everywhere else in the world. After the Age of Strife, people had mostly been educated in old style war and the likes, no one really knew how the ways of machines truly worked. Machines are often copies of other nations which people have procured one way or another. Of the most common things manufactured are advanced mechanical parts and off shore oil well provide northern oil to be refined.

Despite having a large industrial base, it is the entertainment industry which can be considered the most prosperous. An expected result of traditional theater and modern police cameras, Fusan movie stars are world famous as are the directors and producers which craft movies. Movies about the Age of Strife are currently the most popular, having a action packed adventures while stressing core cultural concepts about honor and vigilance.

Put in the same category is the arts of old times, everything from traditional wood block and ink to modern comics and costumes are considered hugely successful business ventures. There is also the (in)famous Fuso adult entrainment industry whose content ranges from adorably attractive to strangely kinky to "how the fuck is this allowed?".

As one would imagine, propaganda is spread through all these mediums in some way or form.

Military

The Empire's military is divided between the Imperial Army of Fuso (IAF) and the Imperial Navy of Fuso (IFN) with the Air Command (IAAC) divided between them. Appearance wise, they take after a very heavily western inspired uniform, although more elite troops and officers will have bits of traditional armor and swords are used in place of knives due to ancient tradition which lists knives as "dishonorable, hidden weapons" and a warrior should openly display what they plan to kill with. Another tradition that has still been going on is the use of females in the military, effectively doubling the nation's manpower.

Tier One Weapons
Basic weapons used by common troops and sometimes altered for civilian usage. By Imperial Decree, all weapons have to have the Imperial Chrysanthemum milled on the receiver, showing that it is the Emperor who owns the weapon and reminding the troops on who and what they should fight for.

Type 99 Saiga Rifle

Standard issue rifle of the military, the Type 99 is made by the Saiga Arms Company and is proudly boasted as "the best bolt action in the world", reloading using a 5 round internal clip, fed by stripper clips. The main feature of the Type 99 is the smooth, yet strong bolt, allowing trained soldiers to fire it faster than any other bolt action to date. Its often the poster boy weapon, seen in propaganda and recruitment drives as a symbol of Fuso's prowess with engineering these things.

Type 101r SMG

A mass produced 40-round SMG with an insane rate of fire and simple mechanisms for fast production. Unfortunately, that's all it has going for it; the Type 101r has okay accuracy, poor muzzle velocity and range and little killing or stoping power. However, its still in use as a tactical option, allowing troops to pin down and suppress without the need of a machine gun. Comes with a folding stock in most cases or no stock at all.

Type 38 Sniper Rifle

A high-powered, long barreled rifle, the Type 38 was once the Empire's standard battle rifle before opting for a new, shorter and overall better Type 99 rifle. Despite being replaced, the Type 38 still boasts higher muzzle velocity and accuracy, thus being a trademark favorite of marksmen and snipers alike.

Type 96 LMG

A light machine gun meant for squad support, the Type 96 currently uses a top mounted 30-round clip, although older models might still use the top mount disc-shaped magazines. Utilizes the same rounds as the Type 99 Saiga and provides a reliable hail of bullets to support and suppress. Air cooled and accurate, its a favorite of troops who call it "Nesei" in reference to its name.

Type 89 Grenade Discharger

More famously known as the Hand Mortar, the Type 89 is a hugely successful grenade discharger, well suited for close-in infantry fighting and even effective against armor should the situation be met. Its optimized to give infantry fire support if there is no local artillery battery or mortar team at the ready. Although it has specialized shells, it can fire just about any grenade with great effectiveness assuming the operator times it right and doesn't kill themselves

Tier Two Weapons
More advanced, experimental weapons used by only the Empire's finest. These often represent the pinnacle of Fuso's engineering and gunsmithing, and some of their most original pieces. Many of these are in the hands of officers or elite troops.

Type 1S-3 Assault SMG

A true and proper SMG meant for rapid fire death dealing, while more complicated than the 101r, its better than it in almost every way. Slight decreased fire rate for more accurate shots at its improved range (which can now effective kill too). It also uses a slightly larger caliber than that found in the 101r, making deadlier but a bit harder to supply.

Type OSU-4 Bolter Rifler

A high powered AT-rifle, the OSU-4 fires out what's basically a giant metal spike at incredible speeds to penetrate through armor, relying on the skill of the shooter to hit crew or ammunition of tanks. While some officer distain the weapon for its crudeness, pragmatic soldiers are able to take out otherwise dangerous armored vehicles with clean shots.

Type 9x96 Auto Rifle

A water cooled, automatic rifle used by only the strongest of troops, the Type 9x96 is unique to say the least. Undoubtedly heavy and fairly unwieldy, the Type 9-96 shines its its pure stopping power and surprisingly small amount of recoil. Its not uncommon for soldiers to strap multiple 9x96's to a rack and use them collectively as an AA gun.

Type 34m HMG

A powerful machine gun commonly found on vehicles, defensive positions and strong soldiers, the Type 34m is the standard heavy machine gun of the empire. Its actually based on a aircraft machine gun, downsized to infantry standards. It uses a high powered round, letting it shred through flesh and light armor.

Type 4k Kami Eihei

Meaning "Divine Guardsmen", the Type 4k is a by far the most unique weapon in the arsenal of the empire and dangerous. Closely guarded and in prototype phase, the Kami Eihei is more of platform for various weapons. Its standard model is a heavy machine gun and the giant sword (yes, its used as a sword), but it can also fit an auto cannon, a mortar or an experimental rocket launcher. Made light through the use aircraft grade alloy, these things are only available to the most distinguished of troops (don't ask how they use them since they don't really understand how it works either).

Infantry

The backbone of any army, Fuso's infantry is the same way but with its own differences. Infantry divisions still follow traditions, more than any other brach. Soldiers are expected to fight to the death and some do exactly that. Its said that they are less disciplined but have such high moral that they don't need it. While it does cause some to do stupid things to try and gain fame and honor to their name, generations of fighting and Imperial reverence keeps more of them in line to try and impress his highness.

Ashigaru -

Standard foot infantry of the IFA, they for the basic unit of the military. They go through basic training before picking a specialization four months into their six month training. Well trained and drilled and very motivated, they fight with bravery and honor. At the signal of their officers, they can execute a zealous charge into enemy lines with their katanas. While some laugh at this practice, calling it suicide, it remains a core part of infantry tactics and is still very effective at closing gaps.

They are generally armed with tier 1 weaponry, most often the Type 99. Should they go for a specialization, they'll use that weapon instead.

Haiyagaru -

Male Uniform

Elite soldiers of the IFA, many of these men and women trace their lineages back to nobility or heroic warrior families. To them, the battlefield is not hell, it is a proving ground. They are even more motivated than standard troops, going into a fight seeking an honorable, glorious death, believing that once they die they can serve the Emperors of the past in the afterlife. Trained for nearly a year, they are the premiere combat troop of Fuso.

Kahari -

Female Uniform

Officers of the IFA, the term Kahari is more of an umbrella term, encompassing anyone who is not a soldier. These people range from the logistics corps, medical corps, hospitality corps, command corps, etc. but are most often used for officers of the command corps. They can be of any birth or walk of life as long as they have served valiantly and go through the officer academy. The Haiyagaru are lead by their own special Kahari called Haiyahari who must be of noble birth. They typically fight with tier one weapons and use a special spear to command troops called the Reyie.

Keishu -

Female Keishu Agent (?)

The special forces of the Empire and looked down upon with great distain, they are the black shadow which follows the Emperor's glorious light. Despite being a military unit, they aren't trained by the army, instead trained by previous generations of Keishu and hired to the army as PMC-like troops. Whatever is considered dishonorable or shady by Fuso's book, there's a good chance the Keishu will be the ones doing it as they are both special forces and spies. Only the top brass know anything of them and even then, the Keishu are known to lie to all but the emperor himself of which they remain intensely loyal to.

Arashi Kami -

The elite high flying soldiers of the Empire, their name means "Divine Storm". Flying with Avalian Stirker units, modified with Fusan engineering, they are armed with auto cannons, machine guns and swords to fight against airships and aircraft, often by getting close and using swords or explosives. As crazy as it might seem, this works exceptionally well as their small profile generally means its much harder to hit with normal AA. They can either be launched from ballista-like contraptions to drops from an airplane. Alternatively, they also double as paratroopers, replacing the Strikers with gliders.

Kamikaze -

If the Arashi Kami can be considered the glorious elite of the military, the Kamikaze are on the exact opposite of the spectrum. Plan and simple, they are suicide bombers, made up of people with mental or extreme unsavory physical deformities, criminals, and sometimes rebels or POW (it should be note that in most cases, POWs are treated well in accordance with military traditions). These people are either brainwashed or "convinced" that what they are doing is for the good of everyone and is clearly the darkest moral stain on Fuso's military, but its a widely accepted practice as nothing is a more accurate anti tank weapon than something that can run straight at it.

Ishin-Shishi -

Personal guards and agents of the Emperor, the Inshin-shishi are picked from the most elite, distinguished Haiyagaru, their training and combat prowess are second to none. Like the other parts of the army, they serve a wide variety of purposes from the foremost guarding of the Imperial Family and officials, to preaching the glory of the emperor and rooting out heretical thoughts, to even acting as diplomats if the time calls for it. It should be noted that they leave the assassination of others to the Keishu

Vehicles

If its one thing that Fuso sucks at, its vehicles. They make decent trucks and their half tracks are up to scratch, but their domestic armor is a joke. Literally, instead of writing an F on a student's essay, some teachers write the word for "tank" instead. Still, what Fuso does make isn't half bad, just don't expect anything other than foreign built tanks or copies in their ranks.

Ho-Wu Armored Truck

While less like a single truck and more like a series of trucks with small modifications based on an original truck, the Ho-Wu fills the need of just about anything not directly related to combat. It has and armored cab to protect against small arms and some have caged or metal plates over the glass for more protection. All models have a machine gun mounted on a ring on top of the cab for protection. It can be a tractor, a troop transport, an ammunition carrier, a supply truck and an ambulance.

Ho-Nao Universal Armored Carrier

A newer model meant to replace the older Ho-Wu trucks but instead have gone on to serve next to them, the Ho-Nao is a full-tracked vehicle that can hold 16 men or roughly two squads. It has a small machine gun turret as a defense but good armor. Its also used as an ambulance, engineer vehicle, artillery tractor, recovery vehicle supply carrier.

Mechs

Ren-Sho Type 44 Calvary Walker

Small, fast two legged walkers, the Ren-Sho is considered to be the evolution of cavalry from times of old. Armed with auto-cannons or machine guns, riders valiantly charge into battle supporting infantry, often executing flanking attacks. Along with their modern equipment, riders are also given lances and halberds to support charging troops and to keep pesky idiots with grenades away.

Ren-Tang Type 104 Armored Transport Walker

Basically a foreign half track, copied and replaced with legs instead of wheels, the Ren-Tang has the advantage of being able to both carry more and also not worry quite as much as trucks do in rough weather. Despite being built as a transport, the Ren-Tang sees more use as a mobile gun platform, this model carry an AT gun.

Ren-Hu Type 61 Mobile Artillery Walker

Affectionately dubbed the "Spindly Little Bastard", the Ren-Hu is a small four-legged walker with a 155mm gun on it. Not the most stable, fast or even safest thing, its gun is its greatest assest, blowing away things that would other wise say the Spindly Little Bastard is just a Little Bastard. It gets the spindly part of its nickname from the fact that moving its turret while walking it can cause it to spin around, making the entire craft stumble around.

Ren-Garu Type 0 Divine Armor of Blessing

Reserved for only the most dedicated and loyal soldiers, the Ren-Garu is a form of exoskeleton mech suit of prototype levels. Despite being a land based walker, its origin is traced to the Striker units of the Arashi Kami. The suit is armed with a deadly 124mm main cannon, leg mounted machine guns and a hand or melee weapon of sorts (often swords). The people in these suits often have more authority than officers due to their badges which they proud boast of.

Main line air-superiority fighter, the Ki-43 Kankori is a beloved plane with many uses. Type of Government: A fusion of Absolute Monarchy and Oligarchy, The Shogun, or the "True" Emperor is the supreme authority within the Dominion, below him however is the Council of Nobles, the Clans that once allied with Clan Izuno centuries ago, and as such, these Nobles hold special reign over the Shogunate's realms, and are tasked with it's maintenance and security.

Military

The Dominion Military is split between the Shogunate Army and the Shogunate Navy, and like their Fusan counterpart, have an Air Command Branch of which both share command. Like such, the Shogunate Military share some similarities with the Imperial Fusan Military, but of course, have glaring differences.

The Shogunate Army follows more traditional doctrines and equipment. Uniforms of the Army's foot soldiers taking on a more ancient and traditional look, soldiers appearing like the Samurai of old. None-Zensen races make up a large bulk of the military, with actual Zensen making up a mere 10%.

Ashigaru Heavy Weapons Specialist
The Very core of the Shogun's Army, the Shogunate Ashigaru differ greater from the Imperial Ashigaru. The Shogunate Ashigaru are seen as more disciplined and regimented soldiers, lacking the fanatical zeal of their imperial counterparts. The Ashigaru, as per the Shogunate's admiration of the warriors of old, are equipped with comba armor similar to what was worn centuries ago, with some exceptions of course. Often the none-zensen members of the Ashigaru, mainly Orcs and Trolls, are assigned as Heavy Weapons Specialists, donning heavy encased armor.

Samurai

The Samurai once the Fusan Nobility, leading the armies of the feudal lords during the Age of Strife. Today, the Samurai under Izuno serve a new purpose, rather then Noble Lords, the Modern Samurai serve as elite shock troops of the Shogunate Army, with training and equipment on par with the Imperial Haiyagaru.

Shinobi

The Shinobi are another of the Shogunate's examples of holding onto old military traditions. In the Days of Old, before and during the Age of Strife, the Shinobi were and continue to be a class of master assassins and spies, their Clans serving the True Imperial Line faithfully to this day. They serve the Izuno Clan as its personal Enforcers, who are to keep the peace from the shadows, by any means necessary. In wartime, they serve as a Black Ops, going where others can not.

The Shinobi are also known to be the only group in the Shogun's Military to have women serving among their ranks, an exception made specially for them.

Uingu Samurai

A recent addition to the Shogonuate's Army, the Uingu Samurai are an Elite, and often described insane, uit of the Shogun's Aviation Service, their suits created and unit formed as a defense and counter to the Imperial Arashi Kami. The primary weapons of Uingu Samurai are their blades, rarely do they bring firearms when deployed.

Shinsengumi

The Shinsengumi are the Shogun's personal guard unit and, like the Shinobi, act as the Secret Police of the Shogunate. The Shinsengumi are a force to be feared throughout Izuno, both from civilians and military alike, no one is safe from their grasp. The signature dark uniforms and Masks of the Shinsengumi bring a sense of dread wherever they walk, the Shogun's Faceless Enforcers enacting his will.

The Greater Republic of Avalia

Type of Government:
The Greater Republic of Avalia is an indirect representative democracy, lead by the Chancellor of Avalia. The Chancellor is elected by the Avalian Senate every 5 years. The Chancellor is the head of both the government and military, and generally makes most of the major decisions of the nation. However, the Chancellor does not have the power to propose laws, only to approve of them. For that, the Chancellor must gain support of 5 or more Senate members if the Chancellor wants to push any sort of legislation through. As for the Senate, each member represents a region of the nation and holds office for 7 years and may be reelected.

Internally, The Empire has a Mixed Economy with various areas being either Market or Traditional economies. The Government does regulate various areas of the market, but ultimately it is a free market. The nation tries to create a "Balanced Trade" which goes by the motto "Do what you do best, buy the rest". Thus Avalian exports usually focus around the aviation industry, ranging from selling commercial airships, airship components, and most importantly, refined Kavuria. While the substance Kavuria is widespread in the world, Avalia's refining techniques have made it much cheaper to buy than attempting to produce your own, usually giving nations more options to focus on other aspects of their economy while receiving cheap Kavuria to float their airships.

History, Demographics and Culture

Valkyerians, Valkyeria

The native Avalians of the Greater Republic of Avalia are known as Valkyeria. Due to their races history, they have mostly remained in their homeland, unable to spread for hundred of years and now too afraid to migrate to other nations thanks to potential racism. In terms of their physiology, they are fairly similar to humans, but with very notable differences. First and foremost is their bird like features. All Valkeryia seem to posses feathered "wings" that sprout an inch above the ears. They also have short, feathered tails that match the color of their "head wings". Typically, they have icy blue eyes and white hair, but occasionally are seen with orange or grey eyes. Valkyerians have much denser muscles than humans, making them have a much higher average endurance, and stronger bones. Valkyerians also seem to naturally preform better at high, thin air altitudes, where normally humans would have difficulty breathing.

Culture:
Avalians present themselves as proud, optimistic people, with much faith in a better future. This is due to their relative prosperity in recent years and fast advancements in their technologies. However, they may also come off as arrogant, especially towards those of faith. With religious worship practically illegal due to social norms, they can be very harsh towards any god worshiping individual.

Religious and Other Beliefs:
Heavily Secular. While the government does not outlaw the worshiping of religion outright, the combination of their history as well as the social norms usually means those who have faith do not make it far in this nation.

History:
The republic of the region proudly points to its origins in the native people of Avalia. During the times before the industrial revolutions, the land was filled with theocratic monarchies. Various god worshiping, human nations that all enslaved the Valkyerians, or "sky people". These Valkyerians, according to the nations of the time, claimed that they were god's gift to the humans, the universal "servants" of the land. Various interpretations of this existed, ranging from enslavement, to outright purging of "lesser peoples". Communities were periodically raided or destroyed completely. Dark times for the Valkyerians continued for centuries until enough was enough.

The Valkyerians of various lands began to flee to a rumored promise land in the center of a high mountain range. An isolated bit of rough territory that no nation set foot in. This event became known as "The Great Defiance" when many Valkyerians fled their homelands to this place of freedom. At first, this was a minor, isolated settlement. However their numbers swelled and soon they began to rival their neighbors.

When the first hints of Industrial Revolution came to be, the Valkyerian nation of "Avalia" experienced an amazing boom in technology and industry. They soon developed an incredibly advance military in comparison to their backwards thinking neighbors.

Eventually the nation of Avalia invaded and annexed its oppressive theocratic neighbors in a series of wars now known as the Liberian Wars. At the end of this conquest, the new Empire was stronger than ever, now that all the lands of Avalia had been united. The second revolution of science and industry soon swept through, leading to a break through that allows the modern airships of today. An Avalian named Joseph Kraft was a former miner, now chemist. He took it upon himself to try to solve the main problem around creating a practical airship, lift. From simple hot air to explosive hydrogen, the airship seemed plagued with all sorts of practical problems. As a native Valkyerian, member of the people of the sky, he felt his natural duty was to find a solution. And he did.

After years of experimentation, he figured out how to turn a previously useless ore, Kavuria, into a usable "lighter than air" gas. It had a much higher weight capacity than Hydrogen and was much less dangerous. However, the substance was toxic to breath and refining it into a usable form took years to perfect. But now the nation the Greater Republic of Avalia has mastered the process of mining, refining, and using Kavuria. It caused a boom for the airship industry in the Greater Republic of Avalia, such that it is now as essential as any sea going vessels to their trade. With much of their shores being sheer cliffs and incredibly rough terrain, the airships were essential in connecting Avalia's trade with the rest of the modern world. With one of the most modern airship fleets in the world, the Valkyerians of Avalia have truly entered their natural realm. What will the future hold for the people of the sky?

Nation Geography
The north is experiences very cold winters, and cool summers with the weather rarely ever being agreeable. The weather becomes less extreme as one heads south, with the terrain turning from what was predominantly pine and fern forests to more regular north woodlands with strong redwood type trees. Near the northern coast, cold rain forests exist with towering trees and moss covered grounds. This is a major area for the lumber industry. Near the center is the fabled mountain range that shielded the Valkyerians from their enemies centuries ago. Here is were the capital is built, serving as the nation's major airship hub. To the southwest is the greater riverlands, where much of the agriculture comes from, naturally. To the direct west is another, smaller mountain range that stretches to the coast. It act as another airship hub, mainly in dry docking and construction. This is also the harshest range of coastline, with sheer cliffs being up to 200 feet. Finally at the far south, the lands become much less dramatic with the exception of the rough coastal section of sharp slate cliffs and crevices. Legend tells that these rough lands once sheltered fleeing Valkyeria as they made there way north.

The Republic's military has a high focus on aviation and its airship fleet, but still maintains a strong, balanced ground force to support the air forces and vice versa. The military takes both men and women of the nation, and even has a female only squadron known as the "Strike Witches".

Army Overview:
Despite the Republic's focus on aviation, the ground forces remain to be very rugged and flexible, so their equipment reflects that. The Army is handles most ground operations as well as paratrooper divisions.

Avalian Infantry
(Going from left to right)
Paratroopers:
Highly trained infantry that are dropped behind enemy lines. They use various select fire automatic rifles, marksman rifles, and pistols. They are usually equipped with sabotage gear and are dropped to either hold positions until main forces arrive or to create havoc in enemy supply lines.

Standard Infantry:
Regulars of the Empire, they usually carry semi-automatic rifles and service revolvers. They usually have one or two per squad equipped with specialized equipment such as machine guns or AT weaponry, and may be given sub-machine guns for urban fighting environments.

CQC/Special Forces:
Veteran combat units that specialize in urban warfare or remote combat operations. They usually carry their own personal equipment, ranging mainly from trench guns to single hand axes. They also wear heavier armor, yet despite this, can be surprisingly swift. Least common among the ground forces.

Avalian Armor:

E-76 Heavy Tank
This heavy tank is designed to be both a tank killer and an infantry support vehicle. Thick slopped armor and its large 90mm cannon mounted on an electric driven turret make it a terrifying behemoth. However, it's overall speed is slow and its great weight means it requires extra effort in logistics to move these large tanks around. Thus, they are not very common on the battlefield.

E-22 Medium Tank
This tank services to be the versatile backbone of the Empire's armored forces. It carries a 76mm cannon with decent armor and speed. It's flanking armor is a major issue at the moment, as it is fairly thin and easily penetrated. However, its speed and machine guns make it an excellent infantry support vehicle and it can be easily produced.

M-48 Light Tank/Tank Destroyer
This is one of the newer tank designs and it comes in two variations. One is the light tank version, with a 47mm cannon, and two heavy machine guns. It's great speed allows it to be a decent reconnaissance vehicle as well as support for infantry. The second version has a modified, high velocity 57mm anti tank round with specialized armor piercing rounds. In combination with its speed, it can be quite the terrifying hit and run tank destroyer.

Mk-4 Mobilized Armor
An odd/new edition to the Avalian tank destroyer family, this mechanical monstrosity and designed to ambush and destroy armored vehicles using its large 88mm cannon. While fairly nimble and fast, the user is very exposed and lacks majorly in armor in order to remain mobile. It also brand new, so don't expect to see these on the battlefield so much.

E-24T Armored Transport Vehicle
This armored vehicle uses a modified E-24 chassis. It was elongated and its internal components were moved about to make it into an APC for regular infantry. It is armed usually with a 20mm autocannon and a heavy machine gun, but other variations include an AA and self propelled mortar version.

C-34A Armored Car
This is a very fast armored vehicle armed with a 20mm autocannon. Its main roles are reconnaissance and infantry support, but it is very vulnerable to any sort of anti armor or high caliber weaponry due to its light armor.

From the "Ryler's Automotive Company", this is an example of some of the logistical support trucks used by the Republic.

Artillery:

N-6 Infantry Mortar
Standard heavy mortar used by infantry units. Crewed by three soldiers.

N-120 120mm Howitzer
This howitzer is the most common in the Republic, used both as an artillery piece, anti tank gun, and anti aircraft gun thanks to its wide variety of ammunition.

N-380 240mm Siege Gun
This heavy piece of artillery is used mainly as a siege weapon on fortresses and strong points. Not usually seen nor used in typical engagements as it often has to be specifically requested by the general in the battle.

-Navy Overview-
The navy is the branch that suffers most from neglect. While the quality of their ships is decent, their numbers are small and are mainly used to simply guard trade routes and the waters in the Greater Republic. However, the new leader of the Avalian Navy is ambitious and seeks to build the Navy into a serious naval force to be reckoned with.

Avalian Battleclass
A heavily armed and armored battleship type vessel, it is one of the more common ships. Its most notable armaments at its two 36cm cannons and four 26cm cannons. They are deadly heavy hitters, but are very vulnerable to submarines and aircraft.

Avalian Destroyerclass
This is the newest and now second most common ship design of the Avalian navy. It is a support ship that posses great anti air and anti submarine capabilities as well as very fairly swift in the water. Its dual 88mm cannons also help it its ability to engage medium naval targets

Air Force Overview
Now the Greater Republic of Avalia may have a decent ground military, but what they are truly known for is the massively impressive fleet that guards the skies above and rains hell down below. The Avalian Airborne Fleet is the main focus of the overall military, with great funding and research put into making the best airships they possibly can. Here are the current classifications of the fleet:

Typical Avalian Trade/Civilian Airship
This airship is the most commonly scene design from Arkil. They are produced to transport large amounts of cargo and sold to other nations. Speed varies based on cargo, but without all the armor and guns of military airships, they are typically much faster and more maneuverable. As they say, time is money!

Avalian Destroyer
The most numerous combat airship of the fleet, this serves as the backbone to the Airborne Fleet. These airships are commonly scene patrolling the airspace or escorting fleets. Main Armament consists of three 105mm cannons and a secondary armament of four turrets that house twin 7.7cm Flak cannons. They can reach a top speed of
150mph.

Avalian Light Cruiser
One of the older ship designs, these provide the more common "heavy muscle" in battles. Armed with six 150mm cannons and one single 38cm cannon as well as four 7.7cm Flak cannons, these ships are essentially stronger, heavier destroyers. They have a top speed of 110mph.

Avalian Battle Cruiser
Thanks to its lighter armor and more powerful engine systems, this newer addition to the fleet has mobility and heavy firepower. It carries three turrets with twin 20cm cannons, eight broadside 8.8cm guns, four 10.5cm turrets, and six 7.7mm flak guns as well as various light AA guns. With all this, they can still maintain a good 110mph.

Avalian Heavy Cruiser
An out of date ship, these used to provide the heavy firepower of the fleet They are armed with three turrets that contain twin 20cm cannons, four broadside turrets with one 8.8cm cannons, and two turrets that house quad 7.7cm Flak cannons. They can reach a top speed of 95mph. They are currently being decommissioned in favor of the newer Battle Cruiser design.

Avalian Fortress Class
Both the least common and largest airship of the fleet, it is said to carry enough ordnance to destroy entire cities. Exaggerations aside, it is still a terrifying ship. Armed with six turrets carrying twin 32cm cannons, eight turrets carrying 8.8cm cannons, and around twelve turrets carrying duel 7.7cm flak guns. It also has a bomb bay that can easily carry up to 10,000 pounds of bombs. Only two of these ships exist as they are a nightmare of logistical support. It could be even said that they serve as intimidation weapons more so than actual strategic weapons. The top speed of this ship is a breakneck 80mph.

Avalian Aircraft Carriers
As a newer ship with only four in deployment, they are multi-deck aircraft carriers that can carry a large number of fighter and bomber aircraft as well as soldiers and invasion forces. Strike Witches are also usually based out of these carriers. Top speed of around 95mph

Aircraft:

The Arkillian Strike Witch
Arkillian is the ancient term for the better land. Where the people of the sky could finally be among the clouds. The Witches are called "Arkillians" out of respect for this.
The Arkillian Strike Witches are a female only fighter squadron that use leg mounted flying machines known as "Strikers". They are an elite unit of aces, often tasked with unique machines for their qualities. They usually carry 20mm autocannons or heavy machine guns into battle, and while they are very much more exposed to AA fire, they are incredibly nimble and fast, climbing like a rocket and turning on a dime.

The AW-7 Multi Role Aircraft
This push engine aircraft is the most common strike fighter in the Empire. It is armed with four 30mm cannons and has a top speed of around 380mph at 10,000ft. It is well balanced with a great climb and dive rate as well as famed for its strength under high G maneuvers. However, it's turning speed is somewhat poor, thus pilots are trained around using "boom and zoom" tactics as opposed to conventional turn dogfights. It can also carry up to 500lbs of bombs. Launched both from Carriers and airbases.

The AT-40 Attacker Aircraft
This twin engine aircraft is slow but very maneuverable. It is armed with twin 40mm cannons and can carry up to 1000lbs of bombs. It's main role is to attack ground and naval forces with its powerful cannons and heavy bombs. Thus it is vulnerable to high performance fighters as it climbs slowly and generally does better at lower altitudes. For protection it also as a rear facing turret with twin 12.7mm machine guns.

The AB-77 Heavy Bomber

It is a lumbering aircraft of sorts, thus it is very vulnerable to fighter aircraft, however it has been known to be a "bullet sponge" thanks to its smartly designed fuselage and inline built rudder system.
