“Well,” Booster said with a smile. “In the interest of fairness.”
From the corner of his eye he could see the Labrador puppy leaping up at Skeets playfully and the robot’s discomfort with it couldn’t be more obvious. Skeets definitely wasn’t going to like what Booster was going to do next, but what the hell? He pulled his mask down anyway.
“Sir, Master Hunter specifically advised against revealing your identity to people in this time period.”
Rip had warned him that revealing his identity might result in his enemies attacking Daniel Carter in an attempt to get to him. But as far as Booster could see, Rip’s rules had gone out of the window the second they’d arrived five years later than they’d planned. All that mattered now was getting home.
“My name’s Michael Carter and this is Skeets,” Booster said as he shook Ted’s hand. “As crazy as this might sound, we travelled here from the twenty-fifth century in something called a Time Sphere. Problem being we arrived five years later than we were meant to and the last time we saw the guy that sent us here he was under attack. We need to get to the twenty-fifth century and to do that we need to fix the Sphere.”
The gravity of Booster’s tale was undermined somewhat by the jubilant barks emanating from the Labrador puppy as it chased Skeets around Ted Kord’s base.
“That’s where you come in Ted,” Michael said as he placed his hands on his hips. “At least, if you’ll help us that is.”

I thought I'd let people know I've found a character I'm happy with. I'm going to open up the Mysticism side of things with either a version of the Damien Dahrk adaptation similar to that from (Arrow) though not tied to Green Arrow unless said player so wishes it or go with a classic and go Constantine.

I finished reading through everything. If no one else is going for it, I'd like to take on Tim Drake's Robin.
But there is one thing that caught my eye. It's not too important but I may as well bring it up.I'm not sure how much freedom we have to change the original storylines, but I just figured I'd point out this tiny detail that seems weird. Tim was able to figure out the identities of the original Robin (Dick Grayson) and Batman when he was 9 years old. Tim was a fan of Dick Grayson back when Grayson was an acrobat, and was there in the audience as a toddler when Grayson's family was shot. Later, when Grayson became the first Robin, Tim saw Robin on TV through news coverage. More importantly, Tim saw Robin perform a unique acrobatic move that Grayson had done, and no one outside of the Grayson acrobatic family had been able to perform that move. With this information, he deduced that Grayson was Robin, and noticed that Grayson had been taken in as the ward of Bruce Wayne, which gave him Batman's identity as well.
Here's the part that might cause trouble. The Batman sheet that HenryJonesJr put up says that Batman first took the original robin out during 2011. This means the earliest that Tim could have deduced the identities of Bruce and Dick was 2011. Tim is supposed to be 9 at the time he does this, meaning that by 2015 he would be 13 years old.
This actually checks out. According to the DC story, at this age he helped Batman and Nightwing break free from Two Face (who had captured both of them). With the help of Alfred, he rescued Batman and Nightwing, and was later trained by both of them. His training took "several months", so he was likely done sometime in 2015.
So, if this RP takes place at the end of 2015, Tim Drake will be 14 (his birthday is in July). I don't have any problem with that, but I just thought I'd point it out. My main concern is that if Drake's 14 at the time of this RP, it might leave him "glued" to Batman.
Anyway, that's all for now. It might seem like I'm nitpicking, but I'm only doing this to be safe (don't know how far we're allowed to bend the stories of the existing characters).
You can slide his age all you want. I didn't comment on ages of any of the legacy Bat characters for that reason.
If I understand this correctly, we're allowed to play as heroes, villains and anything in between? The line "You may choose any character appearing in DC Comics." does seem to make it clear, but I'd figure I'd ask anyway considering I've never been part of one of these RP's and all the applications so far, unless I've missed something, have been for heroes.
Given that I'm asking, I guess it's evident that I'm thinking about writing an app for something other than a straight up hero.
Feel free to play a villain, that would be great.
I guess the potential problem I'm trying to point out is that you run the risk of making large numbers of characters beholden to the whims of a single player. What if you have someone playing Batman that doesn't post very often but has plans for Killer Croc four months down the line? Should they take precedent over someone that comes along that desperately wants to play Killer Croc and will post three times a week?
In that instance I'd sooner have more players, even if it results in differences of opinion in terms of direction, than fewer players. After all, this isn't fan-fiction. Interaction is kind of the point.
The rule isn't, for me, to be able to say "no". It's more so the parent character can just look over it.

Flag's aptitude for marksmanship and demolitions granted him a shot to become a SEAL. He passed a grueling SEAL regiment with flying colors and became member of the Navy SEALs. Shortly after 9/11 Flag was given a commission to First Lieutenant and appointed a squad leader for the United States Naval Special Warfare Development Group better known as SEAL Team Six.
Flag and his men carried out missions in Afghanistan, Iraq, and all over the world. He may or may not have been involved in a raid into Pakistan in May of 2011, but the matter is classified. It was during a black op in December of 2013 that it all changed for Flag. Inside the Syrian border, Flag and his squad's helicopter was shot down. Flag was one of three men who survived the crash. Badly wounded by the crash, Flag and the two soldiers managed to fight their way out of Syria and into Israel. Flag nearly died of his wounds, while the two soldiers with him were mortally wounded by gunfire. While Flag recovered, the two men died of their wounds. He was given a promotion to Commander and was discharged from the Navy for his services.
While Flag was recovering from his wounds in Germany a woman visited him. She gave her name as Amanda Waller, a veteran of the intelligence community who was putting together a special team of special operators. The plan was to use the new and growing metahuman crime problem to the government's advantage. A penal unit made up of criminals pressed into black ops for pardons with Flag in command. An expendable unit headed by an expendable soldier. Flag accepted right away.

36 Hours to Rendezvous
The high-jacked train the Squad commandeered rolled across the Siberian landscape. To the south was the Ural Mountains and China. The Chinese province of Da Hinggan Ling was a little more than a hundred kilometers away.
Inside the lone passenger car attached to the engine, the members of Task Force X busied themselves with activities to pass the time. Waller and Sarge Steel were going over the finer details of the assault plan in the front of the car. Rick Flag sat a few rows behind them. He was disassembling and cleaning his .45. A napping Bronze Tiger was two seats to his right. Nightshade sat across the aisle on Flag's left, her nose buried in a book. Three rows behind her Count Vertigo read a magazine on rare and expensive wines. Calculator sat directly behind him. His laptop was out and he kept checking the train's speed and direction to makes sure everything was fine. In the back of the car, Deadshot sat with Blockbuster. They were playing poker on the folding table set up near the back entrance.
"Give me three," Desmond grunted. He placed three cards on the table. Lawton drew three cards and slid them at Blockbuster.
"Dealer takes two," Lawton said, placing two cards down and picking two new ones up.
"So this mission seems pretty fucked, right?" Desmond reached for two chips and tossed them into the center of the table. "Bet."
"They're all fucked up. But that's something you'll never have to deal with."
Lawton reached for four chips and placed them into the pot. "Call and raise."
"Yeah, you're right. I've got my parole after this. I'm as free as a bird." Blockbuster placed three chips into the pot. "Call and raise."
"You won't live to see that parole," Lawton said. He added two more chips to the pot. "It's just a fact. Raise."
"Look at me, Lawton. I popped motherfucker's heads off with ease back home."
"This ain't back home. It don't matter how big your dick is, boy. What matters is survival and the luck of the draw. You don't have that, I can tell. Bolt and Brick didn't have that and they got killed. Same thing with Psi and Mindboggler. It ain't about fate or serving a higher purpose. It's about pure animal instincts and luck. You got a shit ton of one, and none of the other."
"I'll show you luck, asshole," Desmond spat. He threw a chip into the pot. "Call and show 'em."
Blockbuster flipped his cards over. He had one seven of hearts along with a pair of aces and a pair of eights.
"Two pair, dickwad."
"The dead man's hand. How apropos."
Lawton laid out his cards in order. He had the two of spades, the three of spades, the four of spades, the five of spades, and the six of spades.
"Straight flush."
Lawton reached over and scooped the chips into his hand.
"This is why I'll never die on a mission. No matter how hard I try."
While Blockbuster and Deadshot played cards, Flag finished reassembling his pistol. He slid in the clip, flicked on the safety, and placed it back into its shoulder holster.
"Flag," Waller called. "Come here for a sec."
Flag stood up and walked to the front where Waller and Steel were waiting. She handed Flag a metallic wristband. There were glowing buttons on the band with the codenames of all the criminal team members stamped under the buttons. Above the red buttons were black ones with the names of the rest of the Squad stamped under them.
"Here's your leash for the mission. Anyone acts up or goes rogue, don't hesitate to blow their heads off."
"And what about these black buttons? They weren't here the last time I used it."
"Oh, those..." Waller exchanged looks with Steel before she looked over her shoulder to make sure nobody else was within earshot. "Look, Flag, I meant what I said about not getting captured. We're in the middle of Russia illegally. Anyone of us gets caught it'll set off a goddamn international incident. If one of us does, even the non-criminals, we have to be prepared..."
"Wait...are you saying what I think you're saying?" Flag looked down at the wristband. "Which one is mine? Want to see my head go pop, Waller?"
"Keep your voice down," Waller said in a stern tone. "Sarge and I got them in our blood too. Flag, this isn't us going up against some third world terrorists. Look outside that window, son. This is goddamn Russia we've invaded. If they capture us and find out who we are, there's no telling what kind of shit this could start. I'd rather die than be taken alive. After what happened in Africa, I'd think you'd feel the same."
Flag narrowed his eyes at Waller. "You should have at least asked our permission."
"Why? So you could bellyache and whine?" Waller let a thin smirk escape from her lips. "Well, considering you're doing it now, maybe I should have told you up front. Listen, Flag, if this goes right we won't even need to use the nanites on any of us. Once the mission is over, I give all of us the stuff to wash them out. No harm, no foul."
Flag took the wristband from Waller and attached it to his right wrist.
"I'm tempted to push the button marked 'The Wall.'"
"Ha. Sorry, doesn't work like that. All the non-criminal buttons are dormant until they're activated with my code."
"Right," Flag said in a sarcastic tone. "Good to see I have your complete trust and faith."
"I trust you, Flag, only about as far as I can throw you, but I trust you."
Flag rolled his eyes and walked back to his seat, the metallic wristband now strapped to his arm.

I was planning on using Blockbuster in Blüdhaven but I could as easily replace him with Black Mask if no one has plans for him. In fact, Black Mask is probably a better fit.
EDIT: I've since seen that Black Mask plays quite a role in Henry's Gotham application. I'll work something out that doesn't involve either.

It's cool, I'm far from enamoured with the character, I'd like to try my hand at turning some E-list villain into a real threat instead. The only reason I went with Blockbuster was out of some reverence to the source material.
But to coin a phrase: fuck the source material, we'll do it live.

Just wanted to get a “yeah” or “nay” about the concept before I complete the character sheet.

Laurel “Laurie Jupiter” Juspeczyk / Silk Spectre

Regular Human: Laurie has no super powers on which she can rely on to aid her while fighting crime, unlike other heroes now a days. She has the same weaknesses as any other normal person. However, this could also come to her advantage because villains and criminals might underestimate her.
Natural Athlete: Even from a young age, Laurie has been naturally gifted at sports. Softball, gymnastics, soccer, basketball. You name it, she probably had tried it for at least for a season and probably have been at least above average at the sport. However, once she got to high school, she limited herself to gymnastics in the winter and soccer in the spring. Participating in these two sports not only allowed her to be in great shape, but also helped her learn how to manage multiple aspects of her life.
Hand-to-Hand Combat: While far away from being a master at close combat, Laurie, due to her four plus years of extensive training, is able to hold her own in hand-to-hand combat. With some more experience and practice in the field, Laurie has the potential to become quite the force to reckon with.

Since I am more versed in Marvel lore than DC (the latter of which is limited to the 90’s/2000’s animated series, films, and the recent DC live action television series), I wanted to pick someone who might not have been picked otherwise. I also wasn’t sure whether Watchmen character would fit in, let alone be accepted in this roleplay. However, I tried to craft her origin so that a previous era of superheroes did not need to exist (in a DC universe, there would be a gap in film history from the missing Batman and Superman movies, so I thought it made sense).
It might be my limited knowledge of DC lore, but when I think of where all the action happens in DC, I think of Gotham City and Metropolis. Maybe this thinking is only because of my ignorance of DC lore, but I would like to see a hero fight crime in a city other than where “everything bad happens”, like New York City in the Marvel Universe. When I was doing some research, I saw that there were some heroes in New York City, like Firestorm, Green Lantern(s), Nightwing, and Wonder Woman. However, the latter two are not located in NYC in this roleplay as far as I can tell from their character sheets.

Laurie’s story begins back in the 80’s with her mother, Sally Juspecyk. Since she was the daughter of Polish immigrants, Sally decided to change her last name to Jupiter when she set out to begin her film actress career. While Sally Jupiter had numerous film roles, the Polish-American actress was most known for her portrayal of the Silk Spectre. While this original movie was no E.T. or Jaws, the superhero flick was still a relatively successful film and as a result gathered a cult following that elevated Sally’s career, even though the sequels weren’t as sucessful. While she never became an A-lister actress, Sally still lived quite comfortably due to her Silk Spectre role and some of her other roles.
In 1992, Laurel Juspeczyk was born. Although her mother told her from the beginning of her life that her father was Laurence Schexnayder, Laurie always wondered why they still went by her mother’s maiden name (or at least the ‘Americanized’ version). In truth, Laurie’s true father was Edward Blake, one of her mother’s co-stars in the Silk Spectre film trilogy. Since Laurie’s mother was a somewhat successful actress, Laurie learned to endure and deal with the magnifying glass that Hollywood actors were subjected under.
In 2009, the metahumans began to appear on the radar of the public sphere. While the majority of these heroes had superhuman powers that gave them an edge over regular humans, there were a few who decided to take on crime and villains with only their wits, training, and preparation. If someone like the Batman, Sally thought that nothing could stop her daughter from becoming one, either. And she had plans to make her daughter the real version of her own film alter ego. Even before the emergence of heroes in 2009, Laurie had been an outstanding athlete in high school, playing multiple sports in that four year span. When Laurie began college in 2010, her mother hired private trainers in order to start her combat training, on top of her school work.
Once Laurie had graduate from college in 2014, her mother decided that it was time to make the final preparation for her daughter’s vigilante career, especially since Laurie no longer had any academic responsibilities. While Laurie was not too excited for her superhero debut, particularly because of how much her mother had just imposed her own dream onto Laurie, at the same time, she still did not want to disappoint her mother. After her mother had coerced Laurie into getting implants because, as her mother said, no one would take a ‘two-by-four’ seriously as a superheroine, and after her mother had commissioned a costume that was almost as racy as Sally’s costume from the Silk Spectre films, Laurie was now as ready as she would ever be for her debut in the Big Apple as the second Silk Spectre.

After two years surrounded by Gotham's worst criminals The Knitter escapes from Arkham a far more dangerous man, determined to exact his revenge on those that once mocked him. All across Gotham dead bodies begin to appear covered in expertly tanned human skin, sewn around its wearer to perfection, all but for the lack of mouth and nose holes.
