I never do it in a combat scenario. That's a rule I follow. I also never do it if my character is seriously unable to, in this case he's a big strong knight pulling away a Deku scrub and a alchemist who doesn't see much combat. I'd never do it if I was playing a character who by all odds could not (like some frail kid maybe). If they find it unacceptable I'll edit it. In this case though it plays to my character, as he is the type to break up a fight with action.

Posted. Short and sweet (?) but should work! Decided to start her off at the Fortress in the end, after giving everything a second read.

Edit: Also, I'm agreeing with Sigil here. Even if it's not a combat situation, you didn't give the others a chance to react to anything that was happening before exiting the scene, and pretty much assumed that they wouldn't be able to avoid being grabbed/get themselves free once being held. Heck, Yuri was holding a boomerang, it's not difficult to throw that at someone inches away from you.

Of course, I'm not involved in the situation, but just my two cents.

Er, yes, what Sigil said (it's early in the morning and I'm still groggy, sue me :P). Just try not to make a habit out of it, 'kay?

Also, I've got a bit of important inquiry for everyone. Who's keeping their Fragments a secret and who has revealed them to the Resistance? I need to know for my next posts to make any logical sense.

Nadijah has most likely revealed it to her Gerudo friends/compatriots like "Look what I found guys it's shiny", so they would know, at least.

Also! I went ahead and edited her Scimitar to be a pair of Scimitars in the CS, since that seems to largely be what the Gerudo use. If that's not cool, I'll gladly edit it back though. Just wanted to give a heads up since I forgot to in my last post.

Eh I imagine the resistance is aware bEtzo has one, on the basis that he has been working with them since after the Kakariko massacre.

Edit:Also while I'm rather willing to overlook it this time, I'd prefer no manhandling of Etzo past this point,if we simply start doing things to characters,there's plenty off fun concoctions he's likely to retaliate with, so perhaps we best all watch what we grab

Further Edit: Also not sure it was really a fight at that point, the two of them were being a bit weird sure, but there was obviously a bit of familiarity between the two, and while I'm not saying it's the norm, me and my friends to stupid shut in public all the time.

Those are fine as long as it's not anything fatal. I feel like fun things often only happen when we're allowed to do minor forced interactions like that.

For instance in real life, you get hit, you get hit. Grabbed, tackled, eat something bad, there's no "chance to stop it" or "chance to stop getting sick", it happened.

I think things like this are fine outside of combat where every move matters. It can make for interesting dynamics and sometimes surface reasons for our characters to think or act in certain ways towards others.

Im fine with the interaction mainly because i trust Sho, but i certainly understand everyone elses points. I, personally, am up in the air about the matter.

As for @Double's question, Yuri can and will show it off to everyone in the resistance. She has to market her wares after all.

I agree that things are always bound to happen, but the rule of thumb I've seen on this site is that you have enough respect for your fellow rpers that you trust them allow things to happen to them. If you want to have the action be a bit more dynamic in the post, then you either ask them before hand, or attempt a joint post in one of the many sites made for it. It's not the action itself but rather the principle behind it. I wouldn't for one have said that Etzo, after being grabbed rather unexpectedly, forced a vail of acid into the existing knights face gaurd. Instead, it would go along the lines of saying Etzo attempted to defend himself, grabbing the vail and aiming it at the knight. That may mean that I only get a paragraph post up, but if I haven't asked you about it, I'm not gonna assume it hits or misses. Maybe you want it to miss and leave the alchemist with a warning, maybe you want to let it hit, leading to heavy animosity between two charactera forced to work together. No matter what it's important you have a choice in the matter.

And Etzo is not exactly a complete weakling, while vanilla brand Etzo isn't a powerhouse, the man did fight his way out of a village full of moblins during the Kakariko massacre, with the help of performance enhancing drugs. That being said, I'm going to let it drop, and continue from this point.

Except that also in those circumstances people have reflex reactions. If someone grabs someone else's hand, that person's first instinctual reaction might be to jerk their hand away. That kind of thing triggers in the same amount of time. Sure, unless someone has super reflexes or martial arts training of some sort they may not be able to stop your hand grabbing theirs. But by the same token you wouldn't be able to stop them jerking their hand away.

I'm pretty sure the unspoken rule is to always ATTEMPT, never just DO, unless you have GM permission. Instead of having Sigurd yank them around like children, say instead "Sigurd reached out with an iron grip to try and pry the bickering man and Deku apart," and then have your dialogue.

As it is, you kind of just ragdolled them around a bit, said your piece, and then walked off without giving them ANY kind of chance to respond to anything you did or said. That doesn't leave them with a lot of options besides just accepting their powerlessness in the face of your badassness. You don't wanna take freedom of options from other players because that lessens the power they have over their own character, which isn't fun.

Hmmm, that is a good point. I suppose I shouldn't have walked off too soon then at least. I'll see how I can improve this.

For now though, Sigurd is on his way to the fortress, is there anything I need to know? I don't think it's actually under attack just yet.

That sounds like a GM call, here. There are instances in Ocarina where the bearer of a Triforce piece gained a mark on the back of their dominant hand that glowed when in the presence of another Triforce piece. Or great magic. Or just because. Being as our characters have a portion of one of them (Wisdom or Courage), I would argue that it would react in some way. Well, at least at first or if brought close together.

It'd make a hell of a tandem nightlight.

Also, we're a little eclectic about how we're carrying the Triforce pieces. Some are carrying them as tiny crystals, others as larger ones, yet others like myself are insisting that the shards became one with the individual they chose. Are we good with keeping it different, or should we come together with a single school of thought on this? I would prefer the latter, personally, as it is most similar to the actions of the Triforce in Ocarina.

Of course, that begs the question: How big is the Triforce?

Either way, Cricket isn't keeping it a secret from the Resistance nor from Rath. It's not something he's going to bring up in conversation (mostly because he can't converse), but he believes that his shard of Wisdom was what gave him the idea to come to Oasis as soon as he got it. It would be necessary to show it to explain why a young Sheikah would trek all the way across Hyrule and into the desert by himself, to offer services to a guerilla army under the protection of a people that his clans have traditionally distrusted.

I prefer the triforce fragments not being a physical or tanigble thing personally. Thought it was a bit odd how quick people were revealing them in the IC, but that's not my call.

To be fair, it's significantly difficult to keep secrets when the Sheikah are involved. The Mask of Truth comes from their clan, and don't forget a person can use one to literally read minds.

The Knight's has been absorbed into his body and appears as a smaller triangle than usual on the back of his hand whenever its power activates (so far, it's only guided him out of the Dark World). I was also thinking that they would glow or react in some way when they got close to other bearers of the shards.

Hmm... I'm inclined to agree with this. Any objections before I make the GM call?

Also, @Zeroth, about how much longer do you think the Knight will keep fighting before he collapses? I've got the plan set for how to get him out of there and over closer to Oasis, so I'm just waiting for you to get set up for it.
