o.O Seems like a bad time to have been gone.

@KOGaming The main issue here for me, is the two-actions system which is up in the sword forging part of the first IC post and the first OOC post.

I defined that a 'smithing action' was something like melting down the metal which counts as one already. The amount of actions in finishing a sword would be something like melting the metals, pouring it out and beginning to hammer, completion of the basic shape and beginning the inlay, etc. Straight up making the sword isn't one smithing action, it's an awful lot of action.

I made the two-action restriction to give the post restriction a meaning, and I made the post restriction to give challenge a meaning. Even though I'm pretty sure it wasn't your intention to undermine it, some edits will have to be made, sorry for this >.<

@Uno
With that elaboration on the two-step thing, I'll just say while I'm here that Soul Forge would probably mostly just cause the main hammering and harder inlay work and whatnot a single step instead of a few.

@Lady Athena
Your transmutation will essentially be cutting down the whole crafting process into two steps but as mentioned above, you'll need to indicate some measure of effort has been used or else it'll just feel like it's invalidating a lot of other peoples' work.

@TheWindel
I meant the monsters would be rekt, everybody's got some hot swords in their workshops. Who wouldn't be rekt?

For everybody else, a statement on time, which should be somewhat of a given?:
[risque statement was here, currently being reevaluated]

The 8 posts also don't have to equate to an exact week. The 8 posts is for putting a limit on when you should get all the important stuff done, kind of thing. It'll probably take over the cours of 2 or three days maximum, maybe. If you manage to get it all done then we just skip past the rest of the days until the presentation.

I'd also like some confirmation on the materials list changes; @Lonewolf685 Nika returned 5 Mithril and took 5 Bronze, and @ClocktowerEchos Karthis has taken 8 Bronze, 1 Steel, 2 Gold, 1 Mithril and 5 Copper.

Anyone take anything else?

Alrighty, I'll edit my post I guess tomorrow and hopefully sooner than later for Jerkchicken's sake.

Edit: Never mind, that was easier than expected.

@RoflsMazoyA confirmation of what kind of tech we have would be much appreciated I think.

Not sure what you meant here buddy, but I'll attribute that to my mediocre comprehension skills. As for Soul Forge, aside from going into "Forging Mode", I still plan to at least explain most, if not all, of the actions Lee is gonna do while making swords. Its real use is just to allow me explain weird stuff via an unexplained force.

Currently listed tech is there, it's also on the first OOC post. They're pretty heavily abridged but it is pretty much all you need to know, I also mentioned a while ago Exploration and Mercantile would come eventually when we got to them.

Except with Soul Forge you could go "Lee blacked out and when he woke up it was done" for that specific section and it'd count as one action

@RoflsMazoy Well, now that's interesting. I guess I could do that too.

Also, just wondering since I might've missed it, in terms of timeline, what kind of era is the RP set in? Something like fantasy feudal japan?

EDIT: By the way, I think Kasumi just forgot. About the use of wood and petals from the tree; can I assume that I got two thumbs up from her?

When I say tech, I mean like do we have stuff like power hammers, gas forges, borax, screw presses, belt sanders, etc or some fantasy equivalent of them? Since otherwise it will take people a long while to make swords; I don't care how skilled you are, you can only get so much work done with manual sandpapering and a hammering mallet in X amount of time. Plus there's always a much higher chance of us failing (something which I plan for Karthis's current Greatsword plans to end up as).

EDIT: Could we come up with simplified versions of the machinery such as petal powered grind wheels (think old style manual sewing machines) and stuff like that? Also, what kind of magic level is there in this world? High fantasy magic or low fantasy? Otherwise it'll be highly likely that each student might need another set of hands to help forge.

Ah right, uhhhhh in terms of time I'd probably say fantasy industrial era Japan? I'm not too entirely sure because I didn't have a frame of reference in mind. In terms of magic, it's definitely high fantasy. If you want the grindwheel then I'll allow it.

And yeah, I did forget about using the tree, I was going to say you could because the God was moving soon anyway so it'd be fine.

Wait so does that mean that all of the modern equipment we use today to make smithing stuff is just powered by magic or something like that?

Also,

If you want the grindwheel then I'll allow it.

You do realize that the grindwheel has been around since like the Romans right? Its by no means a recent invention compared to some other stuff.

But my dude, Japan didn't go through an industrial revolution the same time the rest of the world did due to how isolationist they were. Most things happened in like the two places where they were allowed to, which was like two port cities, the only one I can name being Nagasaki. Japan didn't really industrialize until the late 19th century when the United States sent over some ships and forced them to open up, after which the Japanese sent scholars to western nations to learn industry. By then, the first industrial revolution had already passed.

By then, we already had means of mass producing pig iron to build bridges and such.

@RoflsMazoy Yikes. Looks like things are getting a bit technical.

Anyway, after gathering the materials needed. I was planning to just fragment the whole process of creating the blade so that it'll be by steps. Lee will probably use Soul Forge during each step, just to make the whole process gradual in a sense and not just "Poof, I've finished my sword."

Fantasy Industrial Japan in this case would basically be Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress. Only with less zombies.

No seriously, look it up.

@RoflsMazoy Yikes. Looks like things are getting a bit technical.

I meant the powered grind wheel you were asking about.

I think what I'll probably say it's powered by magic and a little on the expensive side in terms of fuel but still affordable to the general public kind of like how oil is right now, maybe?

I'll admit I'm not focusing on this awfully much. I've got another exam on Thursday.

Name: "The Traveller"
Age: Unknown, appears to be 28.
Appearance:

Bio:

The Traveller was described to be vuloptuous and blonde caucasian in appearance. Sometimes even described to bore pale skin, scarlet hair and petite or a freckled brunette of average features. These are the many stories that are known to the public. This time, an ashen blonde lady with an hourglass figure bearing fair skin colours appeared and claimed to be The Traveller herself. The goods in which she specialises in were arms of exceptional quality and could even be magical. The prices to she extorts from her customers are extravagant, relative to the quality of the sword she had taken into her wares.

Her customers best describe her as ruthless but hospitable. When her mind is set on a price, she will not falter a single coin. Despite such stubborn resolve-- her customers have indeed said that her swords are as described or magical as she claims it to be. This does not mean that she has no complaints; bear that in mind. Many too after discovering the truth in her words fears the weapon in which they held... But The Traveller does not accept refunds as all sales are final.

Specialty:

Traveller's Pocket Infrastructure

A mystical statue in an appearance of a house. It can be conjured into a house or store at the whim of The Traveller, so long as there is ample room.
