Gotta agree with @ammokkx here, it's pretty easy to set up with something like riseup or something, and if we ended up losing everything on accident it would really suck.

Okay, I'll send out the link via pms to both of you. I believe the next action goes to Dumpster Princess.

Yeah, I'd rather post back and forth normally. Collaborative posts are really ineffecient and clunky, plus they always take up way more time than just going back and forth. Not to mention how they always seem to end up as massive ugly textblocks nobody bothers to actually read through.

I can see them as a necessity for 2 vs 2 duels, tag teams, or a similar setup that focuses heavily on multiple-person combos, but for a plain vanilla duel it feels really unnecessary.

I dunno, to me, those "plain, vanilla duels" can, and will, take up a lot of space in the ic if posting back and forth, and may go on at least 2+ pages. Plus, it really gets in the way of others who are not in the duel and are just trying to rp normally. On the other hand, while a collab post does make a huge wall of text, I believe it is a lot MORE efficient to do so than to post back and forth. It doesn't drag on for pages, you can do it in private and come and go at any time, and we can read it all at once without other people's posts getting in the way. As a longtime Yugioh rp'er, I speak from experience.

Imo there's no reason for a collab to go slower than back and forth. Its the exact same thing unless you're both on at the same time, in which case it can go by much faster. Also reading a duel with other posts mixed in between would be irritating to me because I'd probably constantly forget the field state, I'd much prefer to read it in one go. However it is GM decision in the end so whatever flys with that is all good.

Well at the very least if you do decide to do the duel entirely inthread then hiders would be appreciated for those posts, it would make it easier to read and less bothersome for me at the very least and doesn't take more work than typing an extra word or two. ^.^

I'm okay with collaborative posts except that they end up being too wordy that a lot of folks kinda gloss over them. I know some folks have glossed over my own word blocks.

I do actually prefer posts be collaborative just because of how fast and reactive some duels can go, and waiting a post will in fact cause confusion if someone wants to chain to activation. So I'm going to say that if you're going to collab post, make sure the actors at hand are all clearly distinct from one another (color code or something). If otherwise, I expect everybody to be fair- as in if someone wants to chain a trap or quick effect in your post, you should let them.

Edit: Also for ease, I'd think it'd be beneficial to post game status in a little hider at the bottom of each post (Turns passed, cards in hand, cards on field, cards in grave, cards banished, cards in deck, etc.)

Why did you join a cardgames rp if you didn't want to read about cardgames?

?

If you don't want to put it in hiders that's fine. I just thought I'd request it as

doesn't take more work than typing an extra word or two. ^.^

If you don't want to don't.

we going to argue again?
hiders just make the post a bit smaller and not make a full post look like a giant mess

Okay I get that outright ignoring posts is easier than reading them but I still question why you signed up for this cardgame rp if you didn't want to read cardgames?

I'm not sure what you're trying to do. From what I can see its provoke me, please correct me if I'm wrong. I enjoy reading cardgames. I would enjoy reading the cardgame you're about to play. I would find it easier to read if it was placed in hiders or done in one post. If you don't feel the need to do either of those I don't mind overly. Please tell me if there is still some sort of problem and what I can do to fix it.

@Prostagma how about you dont misunderstand. using not hiders means a post fills up the entire page which means after you read the post you have to try and go over the entire post just to read the next one

it is not being said that it will not be read it is being said that nobody wants to read but nobody wants to go through a giant post just to get to the next

The core reason i use a hider for my character image in my Character Sheet is THAT not taking a lot of screen space

Yes I realize what spoilers do but I continue to question why you guys are so irritated at the idea of having card game posts in a game about card games.
I'm pretty sure in terms of line count my posts are actually shorter than both of yours so does that mean anything more than a paragraph should be spoiled?

You seem to have no intent to answer my questions, therefore the chance of a resolution seems to be non-exsistent. I will stop responding to you until the GM returns to put their input on the matter.

@Prostagmaand why is making more space for the next posts sending you the message that WE DON'T WANT TO READ YOUR POST, IT IS TAKING SPACE THAT IS HIS REASON

what is going on is that he is asking for Hiders for Reading purposes having one whole duel in hiders helps because again it will make more room for the page and more posts on 1 page means we can read more posts at one time

again the question was can you use hiders not GO USE HIDERS its can you use hiders? its a request not a demand

and i personally want to have hider tags myself

Okay but we're not doing the whole duel at once? That was the whole reason I didn't want to do a collaborative post, was because they're always textwalls. You guys should keep up with the conversation before getting mad about stuff like this.

And what do you mean, "taking space"? We're on a play-by-post forum, there's a functionally infinite amount of space for everyone.
