And Rowan & Scarlet (the vampire, not the mage) because that just screams Power Couple to me.

Or a rivalry that turns into romance. B)

@WeepingLiberty Reading the lore, it states the academy helps guide mages into learning their magic. How much experience prior to joining do we have with magic? If our parent(s) were mahes, would we have some basic knowledge of spells or is it frowned upon to learn before attending the academy? If this was asked or clarified already, I'm sorry!

@Achronum my understanding is that they might have dabbled, but think of harry potter, there is so much to learn that no one really has a head start. Plus there will be some mages that come from purely human back grounds. I mean, my guess is a earth user could push a rock or something, the same way someone might learn to play a song by watching someones fingers, but they cannot just play another song, they come to school to learn the notes ^^I also suspect that some with more abstract magics dont really even know WHAT it is that they are doing.

Edit: disclaimer: not the gm, just an educated guess

@Ellion I was more so curious because of the age of the students. But I guess if magical ability didn't actually manifest itself until recently that would make sense. I was just thinking that if a sixteen year old really wanted to learn how to play an instrument, they'd teach themselves if no one was available. Although, magic is probably a tad more complex that learning that. Thank you for the insight!

@Achronum they might be able to teach themselves to magic, but I get the feeling that "How to magic" isn't on youtube or at the library. They might have an easier time if their parents had the exact element they did. But also, as a fourth grade teacher, parents tend to make things worst because they try to teach "How they learned" but it has been easily 19 years since they learned and it is hard to teach without remembering what it feels like not knowing.

@The One lol, I don't think we are making for sure couples (or maybe they end up that way idk) just doing what ifs or 'this would be a train wreck, do it'

Haha yeah what I meant was if it did happen I wouldn't mind. Whatever happens, happens. It will be difficult to woo Scarlet though.

@EllionHaha. Lilith will be easy. Just keep being nice to her and don't think she is weird when she talks to herself. (Spirits nobody else can see.)

Ellion theory: the school sits all the many loners together. Suddenly, there are no more loners.

....ANOTHER QUESTION:

like....how are mages made? Like I assume that the vampire blood bags are kept close. SO Like...how does that work? Do the vampire set up play dates? Or like...so Mage's just pop in for a visit a few times a week?

My thought is that traditionalist vampires do exactly that. Breed them, like pets. More progressive vampires may just let them have their own family so long as they stay with the original vampire like a Lord and a servant.

Unless there are additional breeding laws set in place by the Grand Coven though. The above assume they don't give a damn so long as the mages don't die out.

So then the human mages will have been extra exposed to vampires. I wonder if some vampires like...barter their mage's off spring? like

"Ah yes, Young Jessica is in need of a blood bag, I have a nice blond one,"

Probably the reason it is now random. ^^

Hm, my guess is they do looks and then offer blood tastings like with wine. If you'received going to live on something might as well make it delicious.
