Zeke felt no real rush to stand back up, even if he wanted to punch somebody real bad. Everything was just too odd and the one thing that could've gotten his engine running, a fight, was well out of his reach now between Batgirl, the one teacher deciding to show up now out of essentially nowhere and his decision to try and not break the rules of his new home so soon. With that option out, he decided to enjoy a moment of relaxation and laid back down on the turf, closing his eyes and kicking his legs up as he took a deep, deep breath. This whole thing sucked, but at least he was still fine, he figured. Dead or not.

Well, no rest for the wicked, definitely not here anyway. With a grunt, he skipped back onto his feet and brushed off the dirt and grass of his clothes before helping both Musashi and Rumi back up. "Right, yeah, sorry about that. It sure seemed a lot more dangerous than it was. Whatever it was", he said, eyeing them over to make sure they weren't hurt somehow. Yeah he didn't think so. "Well, we're still in this I guess", he shrugged, and without further ado he marched right back up to the flag and took his stand right next to it once again. He took one look left. He took one look right. "This sure feels like it's going nowhere".

Alexei Pavlov

"Oh, all good. Not much happening in the old town these days." He replied as he waited for Johnathan to get ready. He nodded in approval as Johnathan explained his reasoning for starting light. It was always best to exercise caution when training like this, even if they all had powers to compensate for their shortcomings. In fact, while Alexei more than anyone could use his power to lift weights like these even easier than ever, he wouldn't; using his power to cut corners or show off would just leave him insufficiently prepared if he ever had to act without them. In any case, he took his position by Johnathan, ready to intervene if anything went awry with the weights.

When Johnathan expressed his concerns, Alexei shook his head. "Don't let it worry you, Johnny. Everyone has their off days and their misunderstandings. I wasn't able to convince the girl to give you a chance myself. The girl I brought to the institute today was also quite combative and unwilling to listen. But I'm confident we'll both get through to these people with enough effort! You just have to keep giving it your all everyday; just like with these weights!"

Meilin Hua

After Daler spoke his words of advice, Meilin stood there, waiting for a reply from the girl, but she said nothing, only stood there.
Maybe she got nervous by the things that Meilin said? She should have tried to make the lecture less "intimidating."
"Sorry, I didn't want to pressure you, intimidate you or anything." she said smiling awkwardly.
"So, Mina, I look forward to teaching you." she said in a slight bow, with a big smile on her face.
"About the room we will be using, since I'm still an intern, It would be rather difficult to find a room for me. But Daler let me use his room. I hope you're ok with that." she said, looking to Daler then to Mina.
"Well, we will at least be able to taste some of Daler's famous tea after our lessons." she said with a wink to Mina

But before either of them could answer, a new student approached Daler, interrupting them.
"The powerful telepath, I have heard stories of your abilities" the student said, walking straight to Daler.

"I'm sure you have, and I'm sure you are. Welcome to the Institute, Roy, and watch your tongue around here. I'm mostly harmless myself (mostly), but there are a few real fireballs around."

"Welcome to the Institute." she said to the boy.
"It would be wise for you to follow Daler's advices. Apparently you already know him, so you know very well that trusting his words and advices is a smart thing to do."
"Many students from all around the world come here to learn. All of them with the most varied powers and personalities."

Roy Carter

Roy listened to Dalers thoughts but believed he could handle himself, "Thanks for the official welcoming and if they really think their hotshots I want to see for myself, so far I haven't seen much that caught my attention" Roy said folding his arms and frowning. Out the corner of his eye he realized a small girl was there. Had she been there the whole time? The young lady seemed to be sizing Roy up. The young man turned his face completely and looked at her with his Amber eyes and a straight face, "See something you like?" Roy said to the girl.

Roy then turned to the lady next to Daler giving him a brief explanation, "I am fully aware of this yes, but I am quite curious to see what the world has to offer this institute in terms of talent and raw strength, it's a big doggy dog world and I plan on showing these other channelers just how nasty it can be" His expression turning serious, "But for the mean time I'll just be testing the waters and won't cause too much trouble for you guys" Roy said looking back at the capture the flag game going on, or what's left of it at least.

ASA

Asa had been watching the whole game quietly the whole time and had figured now, after one of the kids got hit in the crotch and knocked unconscious, would be the best time to stop the match. She stepped into the arena to get all the students' attention. "Alright everyone, considering what's happened to Brock here, it looks like it's time to call the match off. You won't have to redo this, your mentors will still be chosen tomorrow" Asa explained to everyone

@13org

Mina suddenly realised from Meilin's comment that in all her thinking, she hadn't answered Meilin. "No, don't worry!" She hastily answers. "I was just thinking, sorry. I look forward to being taught by you! I'm alright with using Daler's room if he is."

In truth, Mina was not thrilled with using Daler's room as long as he was there. He might read thoughts that she'd rather not have him read right now, though she decided that the best way to counter this was to take what she had presented as the truth and make it the truth. The peices were there. She enjoyed tea, and ambience, and civilised conversation. She had a genuine interest in learning more about her body from an Eastern perspective, as perhaps it could shed more light on her own understanding of her lightcasting, and allow her to utilise it in more imaginative ways. That wasn't just something to further her goal of getting top marks across the board, but they'd be abilities she could use her whole life! That technically went for the martial arts themselves too. A skill she works hard to attain and perfect would be a skill she'd be proud of, and she would never stop using it, even in her adult life.

"Oh, one more thing," she added, "I'm not sure what the stance is on trainee teachers, but I'd very much like you as not just an elective teacher, but also as my Mentor....Or at least a consideration if that's impossible or you have other plans!"

@pkken

"See something you like"

Mina made a 'tsk' sound and turned away as her face twisted into a sneer. She was wrong about this boy. She no longer liked him at all. He seemed to have a high opinion of himself. People said the same of her, but she disagreed on that. She didn't go around thinking she was the greatest at academics, or that she was better than everybody else by stature alone. Well, she was better than everybody else by stature alone, but that didn't matter to her. She wanted her own accomplishments, and she knew she was far from as good as she wanted to be. Sure, she went out and got straight A's and put 90% of the rest of the student body to shame, but that wasn't her fault. They could try harder and they'd get to her level. She wasn't the one in the wrong.

This guy, though. He had an attitude, and Mina didn't think he was all bark. This guy wouldn't be threatening her academic score goals but he may be one to watch in the power training class. She couldn't keep quiet listening to this guy talk. She just couldn't. "Take it from me," she started, icily. "If you're not expecting much talent or competition, this institute will definitely surprise you."

@tipssyCalibrator

She noticed the game was called off, and Mina hadn't taken any notes since her...giggling fit...earlier. Oh well. She'd meet up with the other two academic rivals at the agreed place, maker her apologies and see if there was anything she could learn from their notes. That was the plan.

HANA

During the entire game, Hana had been waiting patiently the whole time, quietly watching all the players making their moves and attempts to get the flag and making sure none of them took the flag from her. Luckily for her, none one of the other team ended up making it even close to the flag. Not only lucky because it made guarding the flag easy, but also because she was very self conscious about performing her powers in front of others

Once Asa stepped onto the arena and made the announcement that the game had been cancelled, Hana made her way towards the teacher and lightly tapped on her arm to get her attention. "I'm sorry, but I...um...don't think a cancellation will be necessary..." Hana said as she brought the flag out from behind her back and showed it to the teacher. She was intending to simply show the flag to Asa, but since she was standing next to Asa who everyone was paying attention to, everyone else would naturally see as well

During the time when Hana was watching the event with Brock unfold, she had ample time to realize that more and more of the enemy team had been starting to focus more on Brock and less on the flag. That single moment when the flag guarder stepped away from the flag was all she needed, and had immediately rushed towards the flag. Due to everyone being distracted nor expecting her to ever take the flag in the first place as well as Hana's speed and quiet nature, it was the perfect moment for Hana to jump in and take the flag without anyone even noticing her

Roy Carter

Roy listened as the girl replied to the lady next to Daler, something about trainee, It all made sense too him now why they planned on using Dalers room.
Soon enough she turned to him

"Take it from me. If you're not expecting much talent or competition, this institute will definitely surprise you."

Seems like that was a slight bit of hostility to what Roy had said earlier, "I truly hope it does surprise me in all honesty, nothing helps development better then a good challenge. Who knows maybe you could be the one who surprises me." Roy said his arms still folded. He then turned to the lady next to Daler and began questioning her since the conversation he was not apart of made him curious. "I hope you don't mind answering some questions for me, I'd like to know your name and the course that you offer" Roy said with an inquisitive face.

Ryuuto Koriyama

As Asa called an end to the game, Ryuuto typed up a few final thoughts and put his phone away. It had been pretty hectic, and he was sure he had missed plenty of things, but fortunately he had two other sets of eyes to help him collect his data. Hopefully, they picked up whatever he missed. However, before he went to rendezvous with his companions, one of the new students caught his interest. Well,
look at that,
Ryuuto thought. Looks like we have a winner after all... He adjusted his glasses, and hopped off of his tree branch, using his strings to control his descent and landing quite majestically. Then, he made his way over to the one girl who managed to get her hands on the other team's flag.

Ryuuto approached Hana with a grin. "Heh, well played. I like your style. Let the hooligans rough each other up, slip in when there's an opening, and then do the only thing that matters. Quick, efficient, quiet. Very nice. That was some textbook Art of War right there. 'Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.' You even slipped under my radar, an impressive feat in and of itself." Ryuuto touched the bridge of his glasses with his middle finger, adjusting them slightly and causing the light to gleam off of them. "The name's Ryuuto Koriyama. I'm a third year here. What's your name?" Ryuuto had a confident air about him as he spoke, but he was by no means trying to intimidate the girl. He just tended to have a... forceful way of making introductions.

ASA
Asa turned her attention to the girl next to her, and then stared for a second as she saw the flag being held in the student's hand. Asa only remembered taking her eyes off of the flag for a couple seconds, was she misremembering or did this girl really manage to take the flag that fast? Asa stood there in bewilderment for a second before finally responding. "Oh...uhh, well...really good job" Asa finally said before taking the flag out of the student's hand

HANA

As Asa took the flag out of Hana's hand, Hana was about to walk away when she unfortunately noticed another student walking up to her, clearly intending to talk to her. As the boy introduced himself in a rather forceful way and complemented her on her performance in the game, Hana felt the all-to-familiar stomach churning sensation more intensely than before and struggled for something to say in response. "I...umm...it was...well..." was all Hana could manage to force out, before finally giving up and just decided to tell him her name. "...Hana Kakusareta..."

Some say violence is the most destructive of all vices, however those peopls underestimate the power of a good deceiver. Such is the title of Ronald Avery, 18. A con-man by nature, Ronald puts his skills to the test almost daily! From the simplest of tricks to the most complex of plans, Ronald gambled and conned, lying, cheating and stealing until he practically sat upon a pile of ill-gotten goods, like a dragon atop its treasure horde, waiting for its eggs to hatch so it may distribute the treasure evenly between its children. These dragonlings woupd represent charity, those less well-off than others, and those that helped him with his many nefarious plans.

As if struck by the arrow of fate, meant to bring him ever so closer to his destiny, one day, Ronald developed a peculiar power! Energy swelled up within him, before leaving his body to form an alien, humanoid figured Ronald quickly called his "stand." His stand, dubbed Wayward Son, brought many new possibilities! It was a key, placed in Ronald's hand to open the door to many new applications of his con-man abilities! However, it turned out to be more like a magnet, drawing several strange people to Ronald's hometown.

Over the course of several days, Ronald learned many things about himself and his powers. He was a Channeler! But not just that, he was categorized as Alternative. An outcast in a society of outcasts! Fortunate, yet tragic. In any case, this could be a new life. Not that he regretted his decisions, but studying at an institute to hone his powers, like the strange people mentioned, made way for many opportunities. A more honest life. An honourable life!

So, it was decided. Ronald would study at the Institute, despite his parents' worry. He had promised himself that this was it. An honest life for the rest of his life.

However...

Not but a week later, Ronald already had something set up. A simple game of cee-lo. However, Ronald had two sets of die: One for common use- 1-6 numbering the sides- and one hidden in his pocket- dice that only had two 4's, two 5's, and two 6's, on either side of eachother. Though he was sure gambling with real money was against school policy, the mere act of playing the game was enough to keep Ronald entertained with the idea. Naturally, he set up right in he courtyard, near a place with a lot of foot traffic. The table Ronald's evil little game was set up on was a plastic, square one- like those you would find at school events- a medium-sized bowl placed in the center, for rolling dice, and several chairs.

"Step right up, step right up! A nice, clean game of Cee-lo for everyone's amusement!" Ronald's chipper voice rang through-out the area, inviting his peers to take a seat and play him in a round of the rigged dice game. Ronald's voice had a certain charming appeal to it, likely after years of practice goading victims into gambling with him, despite its illegal nature in the States. Confident and alluring. Like an angler fish, only baiting people by voice instead of what they see.

Jonathan Walker

Jonathan quickly shrugged off his jacket and rolled his sleeves up. He'd forgotten to do so earlier, and it'd just get in the way of lifting properly if he didn't. As he and Alexei spoke, he focused on doing triples at each weight moving up to his maximum. Looking like a perfect sculpture wasn't something that interested him so much as gaining actual, useable strength, so low repetitions at high weight suited him perfectly.

"Effort isn't everything, though. We can reach out and reach out and keep being pushed away. I really just want to make everyone feel welcome here, make them know that almost everyone supports them. But..." He strained as he pushed up the bar, flushing his face a deep shade of scarlet. With a soft rattle and a sharp clang, he racked the bar again and sat up before continuing. "...Everyone's different. Like, talking to Ryuuto is easier for me than talking to Hondo or Kasuke."

His mind flashed to Hondo's constant grumbling and complaints, and to how Mina had stormed off after he thought they'd had a good time, and he almost fumbled the plate he was putting onto the right side of the bar. Not the most pleasant thoughts - less fun than getting punched in the face somehow, but he figured that was just his borderline masochism talking. "I guess just trying to be nice and welcoming is all I can do, though. Just gotta keep pushing forwards like with this bar."

Clang. The weights were on again, and he swiftly finished off his routine. The bar coming down was getting hard on his elbows and sternum at this point, so three hundred and eighty pounds was his limit for the day. Should be able to get back up to four hundred after a week or two, though. With that part finished, he'd move on to the machines, which were safe enough to use without a spotter so long as one followed the instructions. Leg day would wait for tomorrow.

@Mercurial

Brock Van de Vate

The end of the game, huh? And... It was his fault, right? What. The. Fuck. Don't call off the game just because I took a cheap shot to the groin, I have a game to win!, he thought to himself. At least, until Hana appeared with the flag. He had been too busy eating grass to notice his own team doing anything, and the humiliation of being downed so easily led to him, ahem, retconning his involvement in the flag capture. And retconning his knowledge of his team's composition. So, he turned to the quiet girl and sang his self-serving praises like any good 'team captain' would. "I... guess my strategy worked, then. Good job getting the flag, Hana. I knew I could count on you."

He had no interest in continuing the conversation, and turned to leave, only to find himself staring at some sort of bloblike creature in a night gown dragging an axe behind her. Brock's stomach dropped.

@tipssyCalibrator@Yuuta

Daler Ghumman

"I can ask Asa later about the official policy, but I don't see any problem with you at the least considering Miss Meilin Hua a mentor figure," Daler said, answering both Mina and Roy's question in one go. Meilin or Mina could tell the boy what the class was, since Daler couldn't be bothered with it. Mina's partially obfuscated mental storm was a little more worrisome to him, and since he got most of the idea, he felt he had to address it.

Kasuke, you already know my confidentiality policies from our work together during detentions. You are truthful, hardworking, intelligent, and driven, and there's nothing wrong with any of that. But if it makes you uncomfortable, I'll just suggest this: think in pictures if you want to keep something private. I can no longer stop listening no matter how hard I try, he thought towards the girl. Hopefully she'd be put a little more at-ease by that.

@Silver Carrot@pkken@13org

Alexis Cartwright

The doctor had finally arrived at the apparent scene of the commotion. Daler hadn't given her any details, and she suspected there was some ulterior motive behind him kicking her out of bed, seeing as there weren't any half-dead students or heads rolling around on the field. Last year, she'd had to reattach someone's leg. This time around, nobody looked even remotely hurt.

"Alright Asa -- who's been hurt, and are they hurt enough to need immediate intervention or can I go back to bed?"

The axe shifted slightly in Cartwright's hands, and Brock suddenly found his groin feeling much better. The prospect of being in even more pain just wasn't that appealing.

ASA

Asa's thoughts about the flag and the girl were suddenly broken when she heard Alexis getting her attention. If this were the first time Asa had met Alexis, Asa probably would have freaked out from her downright horrifying appearance. However, she didn't react or pay any mind to her appearance or her actions as she had been exposed to her strangeness a long time ago and was more than familiar with her by now. "It's nothing major, just this one here. A hit in the groin with a ninja star and a punch to the head that knocked him unconscious for a little while" she explained, gesturing to Brock as she explained to Alexis

Freyja was visibly annoyed with Brock's response to her chastisement. And so, when she replied with "You didn't even aim it at her! You aimed it at the ninja! It wasn't self defense!", she did so with a scowl on her face. At times like these, she wished she had Mako's abilities to put fear in her students.

And speaking of Mako, she would be perfect to handle him, she thought. He seemed to be the kind of student who didn't really give any respect to his teachers. Mako should be able to break that ego of his a little.

Suddenly, he jerked his hand off of her grasp, before firing another heat wave towards Akiko. Luckily, it simply fizzled away, thanks to his weakened state.

OF course, this made Freyja even angrier.

"Freyja, if your intent is to mete out punishments, I suggest keeping those two separate for now. Mako can deal with the girl. Given his outburst, I'll take the boy myself later."

She was about to give Brock some more tongue lashing before Daler interrupted her telephatically. It seemed he offered himself to deal with the boy, while the girl could go to Mako.

"Very well, I shall entrust him to you," she replied back by just thinking about it, knowing that Daler would be listening to her thoughts.

She was then interrupted by another teacher, this time it was Dr. Maxwell. He expressed his displeasure that she had stopped the fight when it was just getting to the good part.

She couldn't believe this guy. He really put forward his research over the wellbeing of the students, it seemed.

"We've already seen enough," she replied back via her own small microphone. "And you will have more chances to observe them in detail once they have their classes. No need to take a risk by allowing them to battle freely, especially when they just arrived and they still didn't have good control of their abilities."

After that, Asa rushed to the field and announced that the match was over. Freyja sighed. The entire thing seemed to have ended in a failure.

...Or not, as one of the students came forward and showed the flag on her hand. She had sneaked by and stole the flag while everyone else was focused on the incident.

Freyja immediately put both of her hands to stifle her giggle, which soon turned into a laugh. She simply couldn't help herself. She found the situation really funny as it came out of the left field. She had caught her off guard entirely.

"A-apologies," she said once she regained her composure, coughing a little to put her dignified look as a teacher back, "I too did not notice you stealing the flag. Let this be a proof that not every fight is about who's stronger. Anyone can be clever enough to put the stronger opponent at a disadvantage even though they're weaker themselves."

She smiled at the girl. As an architect, she had a firm belief that brains trump over brawns and she was glad that she had proven it to everyone present. And she was even happier when she saw her pupil Ryuuto approaching her and introducing himself to her. He also saw the worth of her cleverness, it seemed.

"Alright Asa -- who's been hurt, and are they hurt enough to need immediate intervention or can I go back to bed?"

Freyja turned around to see that Alexis had made her entrance. As usual, she was an odd one, but she was the best healer that she ever knew. Knowing how often fights broke out in the institute, a person with skills like her was an absolute necessity for sure. Asa explained to her about Brock's wound. She glanced at the boy, noticing his horrified expression. She couldn't help but to smile a little at that.

AKIKO

After the game of capture the flag ended, Akiko was kind of just left standing around not really having much to do. However, that changed when she heard the voice of a man inviting everyone to play some kind of game. Akiko didn't recognize this guy and wasn't sure where he had come from, but she was certainly interested in the game. She also didn't really recognize the game at all and had no idea how to play, but hell would freeze over before she ever backed down from a challenge. She walked over to the stranger and his game of dice to accept his challenge. "I'm down, how do you play?" Akiko asked the man

Ryousei Aoyama

Ryousei was about half of the remaining distance to the flag when he suddenly heard Asa calling out that the game had been cancelled.

Oh.

He was about halfway back to his side of the field when she noticed the purple-haired girl there, standing with his team's flag.

Oh.

The fuck?

Okay, well... alright.

Ryousei sighed. This had all been pointless. What had his teammates been doing? As he got closer he noticed a dude on the ground, surrounded by puddles of vomit.

Had he missed something big? That's what he got for being so single-minded, he guessed. There were other people standing around his side of the field now.

"So, uh..." he started, approaching them, before noticing... something getting closer to the group. If Ryousei had to guess, he would say that it was a person.

He tried to ignore it.

"What now?" he asked.

@tipssyCalibrator@Hammerman@Azereiah

Jun-Sang Kim

Jun-Sang had seen it. Well... in a sense. He'd been watching the commotion with Brock and had been side-eyeing the flag. He was therefore able to notice a blur of motion and suddenly the flag was gone.

He blinked a few times, trying to process what happened. It wasn't until the purple-haired girl showed the flag to Asa that Jun-Sang connected the dots.

"Well, that happened," he said flatly... the first thing he'd said since shortly after the game started. He looked over to see that someone new had joined them. Jun-Sang hadn't seen him before, so he deduced that he was new.

He idly cracked his knuckles before turning from the field and walking away.

@pkken@Silver Carrot@13org

Rumi Kataoka

And then the game was over.

"Huh. Jus' like that?" Rumi said, before shrugging her shoulders. "Well. I guess nothing much was happening anyway."

Rumi wasn't exactly taken aback by any of this, if she could be honest. She hadn't exactly expected it either, to be fair. Rumi approached the group reconvening in the middle of the field at the same time another person did.

She looked horrible, but more importantly was asking who'd been hurt.

"He is," Rumi said, pointing to Brock.

Ryuuto Koriyama

"Not much of a talker, are ya?" Ryuuto said to Hana, noting her reluctance to formulate the most basic of coherent sentences. "That's fine. Actions speak louder than words, anyway." He gestured over to Brock, as he boasted about how everything went according to plan. "Better to keep quiet then make a fool out of yourself by talking yourself into a corner." Ryuuto gave a soft chuckle. "I know it was Captain Morgan who made most of the plan, not The Human Hand-Warmer over there. Well, it was nice meeting you, but I gotta meet up with some people." He smiled and gave Hana a friendly wave. "You need anything, let me know. I know how tough it can be adjusting to all this craziness. See you around."

With that, Ryuuto headed off to meet with Mina and Jun-Sang. It was good to see that all the new students weren't loud-mouths. Still, that made her all the more dangerous. He hadn't even seen her grab the flag. That was an important piece of data missing. Hopefully one of his companions would help him fill in the blanks.

"Why, this game has many names, friend!" Ronald began to politely explain to the first player of courtyard Cee-lo. "Cee-lo, Chinchiron, 4-5-6, or even just Dice. And the rules are quite simple." With a sly grin, Ronald picked the dice up and shuffled them in his hand. "Banker, me, goes first. I roll the dice and, depending on the combination, I either lose the bet entirely, win the bet entirely, or the round continues. I've got a guide for combinations right here, actually..." From his left pocket, Ronald took out a neatly folded piece of paper. Unfolding it reveals a guideline of winning and losing banker combinations. Immediately underneath is one for players as well. "I'll give you a second to look over that. Tell me when you're ready to play."

"Oh, good then! I thought I had scared you with my little lecture." she said to Mina. She was actually relieved that she hadn't scared her. Sometimes she was too enthusiastic while explaining about martial arts. But Mina's next question would surprise her even more.

"I'm not sure what the stance is on trainee teachers, but I'd very much like you as not just an elective teacher, but also as my Mentor....Or at least a consideration if that's impossible or you have other plans!"

"A mentor? Sure, I would be happy to be your mentor! But are you sure about this? Maybe you should to think about this a little more. Choosing your mentor is a serious matter. You will spend a lot of time with your mentor. The relationship between a mentor is more than just an instructor and a student. You will know each other pretty well.... I would suggest you choose a mentor you are very comfortable with." she said to Mina in a more serious tone.

"I can ask Asa later about the official policy, but I don't see any problem with you at the least considering Miss Meilin Hua a mentor figure."

"Yes, Daler. I don't think it'll be a problem. They actually expect me to have a pupil this year."
"Don't worry Mina, it will be my first time being a mentor here at the Institute, but I'm no stranger to teaching." she said with a smile.

"I am fully aware of this yes, but I am quite curious to see what the world has to offer this institute in terms of talent and raw strength, it's a big doggy dog world and I plan on showing these other channelers just how nasty it can be" She heard Roy's reply.

"I... see..." Meilin felt... solitude on that boy's words... Almost like he was carrying a burden on his back, far too heavier than he should.
"Indeed, the world is not a nice place. But that's exactly the reason why you should take a while and make some friends, allies, whom you can count with to help you to make this world a nicer place for you to live. Try to know the other students a little. I'm sure you will find nice friends amongst them." she said, trying to give him a small advice.

"I hope you don't mind answering some questions for me, I'd like to know your name and the course that you offer" Meilin listened the new student, Roy, talking to her.

"Of course, i'll try to answer your questions as best as I can. My name is Meilin Hua, I am currently an intern here at the Institute. I teach Eastern Martial Arts." she said, greeting him with a slight bow.

"Well, that happened,"
When she had just finished talking, she heard Jun-Sang talking and then walking away.

"Already going Jun-Sang? Don't you want to accompany us to Daler's room? We're going to have some tea." she said, calling him.
"If you're ok with one more guest, that is." she said to Daler.

Mina bowed her head in genuine gratitude. "Thank you for considering me! I'll catch up with you in Daler's room, if that's okay. I promised some students I would meet up with them after the Capture The Flag game. It won't take very long, I promise." Right now, there was nothing Mina wanted more than to drink tea with a teacher, and hopefully her future mentor at that, she did not want to stand up Ryuuto and Jun-Sang, the latter of whom was already here. There was nothing Mina hated more than a lack of punctuality, and hated doing things she didn't like seeing in others. That would make her a hypocrite. She nodded at Jun-Sang, to convey that they should both head over soon, though she wasn't thrilled about showing them both her lack of notes. She was going more to make her excuses and learn as much that she missed as she could, that to share what she had written.

Mina smiled at Daler, and then started to think in pictures. It was a bit more effort, but it did feel easier to hide things. She did think the word 'thanks', however, and quietly too. She knew from last year that trying to get your thoughts to the forefront of your mind for the sole purpose of getting Daler to read them was the equivalent of shouting very loud.

Roy's last sentence to her was definitely a thinly veiled challenge. She would not answer it now. She didn't trust herself to answer him in a way that would be acceptable in front of a teacher. But she'd remember it, and hone her powers, and learn new ways to fight, so that when they met at the first practical exam, which if she remembered correctly was in about a month's time, she was going to take him down. Nothing to do with her larger goal; this was purely for her personal satisfaction. She gave him one final glare, and then made a point of not looking at him at all for the rest of the conversation.
