Eight days ago, we all arrived at Camp Red Rock just outside of a small town - or at least it seemed small from how many people seemed to be greeting us when we passed through it - in North Dakota. None of us realized what was happening. We didn’t know each other. Well, some of us knew each other while others had no idea why they were chosen to be at this camp, but it wasn’t as though we had a choice. Our parents signed us up for a three-week summer camp getaway. Some felt it was they could have some time alone while others welcomed it. Honestly, none of us knew exactly why, but when the bus stopped and we all got out, for better or worse, we were going to get to know each other for the next three weeks.
...Only it wasn’t going to be that long before we would have to know each other really well. Only one day into the camp, the weather started acting up. It was mid-June and though the weather shouldn’t have been too crazy because one, we were in the northern part of the states and, even in the summer, the weather here has been roughly average, but for it to start raining and even hailing with winds rising as time went on was certainly strange. And to make it even stranger, when we all stepped out from our cabins, it didn’t feel cold at all and we saw strange specs of light slowly descended from the radiating sky, each landing in our open palms. The touch of these lights was warm and seemed familiar. When the lights faded, they formed into these strange devices. Only a moment later did something terribly wrong.
How could we have known this was going to be the start of the end for us? To venture into the unknown - into a place known as the Digital World where things we never thought was going to be possible existed. Whether together or apart, our survival depended on the creatures who would go on to save our lives.
This is the tale of eight kids who would go on to save both human and digital worlds. This is the story of The Digidestined and their Digimon partners. What role will you play?

Welcome, welcome! I am so pleased that you have tuned in to read this little teaser. This is obviously going to be a Digimon roleplay. And if it also isn’t obvious, let me state that my goal is for this to be a retelling of Digimon Adventure 01 with the focus on a core group of 8 kids of preteen age (11-13 of age). My hope is, instead of the focus being on two characters like it was in the initial series, that we will be giving every single character the focus they need for the proper development through a series of “Character-focused scenes”. This will be achieved by each of the eight having several scenes where they will be the focus with the rest providing a supporting role and vice versa.
Now, let me clear up a few things: I will be open to any and all suggestions and welcome innovative thinkers. Additionally, the gender ratio will be divided evenly. This means 4 male characters and 4 female characters. Ideally, I would be looking for 7 players to make up the cast. It is also my hope that we will bounce each other’s ideas off of each other so we also will each get a chance to play the villainous role as well. As for the crests, I want to keep this experience as authentic as possible. Due to this, we will be sticking to the Digimon Adventure 01 crests: Courage, Friendship, Knowledge, Love, Sincerity, Reliability, Hope, and Kindness(swapping this one out for light because I didn't particularly like the brokenness of the Crest of Light). Of course, any and all characters are eligible for all crests. Locations and other related information, I feel, can be left up to the majority decision.

As you might’ve deduced, our characters have the options of either knowing each other somewhat (we’re roughly from the same area in ND), so communication between characters is possible, or they can be total strangers. In the end, that’s your call, but I will advise that, if you go with one, commit to it fully. As far as Digimon partners go, you have a mostly free-reign when it comes to that, but you will be responsible for writing for your character’s Digimon partner as well. Though I’ve no doubts it’ll be a difficult task, I feel like it I should mention it regardless. One last thing. If there happens to be a character who has goggles, that doesn’t mean he or she is the de facto leader.
Crests
As noted, the crests will strictly follow the series’ first season. They are not an indicator of what the leader is, who will play a bigger part in the roleplay’s overall story, or how big of a role said character will play. It does, however, decide what your character’s strengths and weaknesses are. Please keep that in mind when applying/staking a claim in a crest. Your characters will need obstacles to overcome.
Pacing and Posting Requirements/Expectations
I am not one of those GMs who will demand much of those who think they are interested in this RP. The pace will range from machine-gun posting to barely any activity, but I will not quit on you guys. I only ask that you give me the same courtesy. It’s fine if you have things outside of the Guild that prevents you from posting, but communication is key so we can work around your schedule. Additionally, I ask that you, the players, write at least 2 paragraphs per post. Also, regarding collab posts, while I won’t say no, this is the sort of RP where individual posts are needed. That being said, if you wish to do them to save some time, I won’t say no.
Post Formatting
This will be a straightforward rule. Your posts will have to adhere to just a couple of formatting guidelines: character dialogue will not be bolded. Leave that free in case your character says something that needs emphasis. Quotation marks will be colored.
Decent Grasp of the English Language
I don’t expect a grammar nazi’s level of understanding. As long as your posts are readable and we all can understand it, you won’t have any problems from me. None of us are getting paid for this, so don’t stress if every sentence doesn’t contain perfect structure.
Keep OOC Drama out of IC
I cannot stress enough how drama kills roleplays. So, this will be my only rule that I will be strict GM about. If you bring OOC drama into the IC, you will not like me. So, just keep it out of the RP. If you have any problems, then come to me and I’ll see what I can do to make your experience more enjoyable.

Simply put? Let’s have a grand ole digital time! We aren’t here to be too serious, though we can appreciate some professionalism for this hobby of ours, it is just that: a hobby. Let’s try to have some fun and enjoy ourselves. Leave the drama queen antics at the door and digivolve into Funfunfunmon! :D
