@Jester Acharis How long would she have been in Oasis at the start. Seeing as she's supposed to be a curious type, Etzo's work shop would certianly be an interesting place I should think. Though if he's in the middle of a breakthrough, his manic demeanor might set off her cautious/mistrusting side. Just curious so I can see how he should interact with the others.

Hay peeps. Thinking of joining. Either with a grumpy snarky kokiri, a radical roller goron, or a gerudo witch apprentice who acts like the good version of Twinrova.

@Jester Acharis I'm accepting it, but I also feel the need to let the record show that not all Gerudo are like Nadijah. In fact the majority have been far more accepting of the recent changes... hence why Oasis was built by a mix of all the people. In fact if anything, the Sheikah are the ones who are most mistrusting of everyone, what with their secrets and shadowy culture and all. So, fair warning to you Jester, Nadijah is in a minority when it comes to her not trusting anyone. Also going to assume that her fragment is Courage.

And that makes 8. So it looks like I'm clear to close applications for now. Sorry, @AtomicNut, but I'll keep you in mind if we need to reopen applications again at any point.

I hope my post isn't too drastic and sudden a scene transition, and I also hope the Knight isn't being displayed as too powerful or anything. I just wanted a really harsh, brutal scene to depict what I think the Dark World would be like, and given the darker nature of the Hero's Failure timeline, I went with some fairly brutal descriptions. Let me know if I need to make any edits.

Seemed perfectly fine to me.

Anyway, I didn't specify it but the ranking officer in charge of HQ at the moment is Captain Gerik. Just thought I'd clarify it here since he is a bit more recognizable than he was in the game. By this point in his life, Gerik now sports a seemingly permanent layer of a stubbly beard, plus he keeps a beat-up looking Keaton Mask on his person at all times as if it were a priceless treasure (mind you he doesn't actually wear the thing, he just keeps it with him).

@Double Actually, I'll be doing the same with money and stuff to sell, if that would be fine with you? If not I can write a list and give Yuri a definite amount of rupees.

@The Fox Without@Kafka Komedy
As long as you don't go overboard with it, then I won't mind. Or as long as your willing to me to let me dictate rupees and ingredients when the plot calls for it.

@Double Completely fine. I'm kinda rushing things along in my post so Yuri can interact with Etzo. If you have any problems I can rectify them in the morning, since I'm honestly unsure of what the HQ looks like, or how open they are.

EDIT: Posted!

I believe the Gerudos though Ganondorf was a kind and caring king, at least up until he became a dark lord.

It was actually quite the opposite. In fact the reason Nabooru decided to rebel was because he resorted to attacking women and children. The Gerudo obeyed him at first, but that was mostly due to intimidation more than anything. After he left they like immediately declared their independence from him and Nabooru took over leadership.

Ah that's right, but I know somewhere they said he was such up until a certain time. It's likely he changed after coming into contact with the triforce of power.

The Triforce doesn't change people who take it. It only ever reacts to what's already in their heart. That's kind of the entire reason why A Link to the Past's plot works the way it does. Ganon was already a blackhearted evil bastard when he touched the Triforce and that's what created the Dark World. Basically the same exact thing happened here with Ganondorf, so he had to have been pure evil already when he left to get the Triforce.

The Triforce of Power isn't one of evil though, it reacted to Ganondorf due to his thirst for power in that regard. This is why I liked the Windwaker portrayal of him. He was more than just some evil king there.

That's exactly what I said in my response above, so I fail to see how that proves Ganondorf could have ever been good.

And, okay I'll grant you the Wind Waker example. But the thing about Wind Waker? That all happened in a game from the Adult Timeline, ie a different version of the universe we're currently RPing in, and ergo, irrelevant to this iteration of Ganondorf.

You can have a thirst for power and not be evil, there are characters like that littered all throughout other series, sure this Ganondorf is evil, and I never said that other portrayal of him was relevant, I just said I preferred it. It made him a deeper character for it, and I hope they do a bit more for Ganondorf in that regard, it would make a fight against him quite a bit more engaging should they execute it right.

This Ganondorf, for the most part, is pretty bland all things considered. That's why I'm not going to try to write him as a person, but simply as a force of nature. He's pretty much come to personify the darkness and evil that's been spreading across Hyrule, hence my decision to write him as a force of nature as opposed to as a man. It's really the only way I can think of to make him interesting, because God knows the game makes no real attempt to do so.

In the games they write him as power-hungry, as his piece of the Triforce represents. Him as a force of nature would be more fitting for this timeline, he's kind of just a looming threat in all the games on the timeline we're playing.
