Three of them are related, so they'll always be tied together. One shouldn't ONLY be defined by their family though. Or limited to only being on the one team.

X-Men go solo all the time, making the four split up is about the only thing they haven't done in the comics till now and that's just cause half of them are dead or in limbo. The Invisible Woman working for SHIELD was an incredible idea that was wasted when she was written off with Reed. The Thing in the GotG was a nice change. And it was about time the actual human Torch joined the Avengers and not just the machine again. I just think there's more potential when you split them up and move some characters around. If you've read one or two F4 stories there's a good chance you know how every other story played out afterwards.

The only thing the F4 really did was introduce other characters like the Inhumans, the Skrulls, the Kree, Black Panther, etc. Aside from the Hickman run before the FF title the comics had been dropping in sales and the team didn't seem to matter in the grande scheme that is Marvel. To me it seemed like fans stopped caring around the same time Marvel did.

Dude if you just don't like the Fantastic Four just say it, but all this reeks of just not liking them and trying to justify it, like because you don't no one should. Yeah they can go do things on their own but that doesn't mean they shouldn't exist. Which is frankly hypocritical actually thinking about it, since no one said a word about you taking Archangel and making him his own guy. ESPECIALLY considering his one of the original five X-Men.

Also again, lets not for one second act like Marvel's mood on them has NOTHING to do with the movie licensing deal. Marvel can make people care about characters if they wanted too. They just don't because of the movie stuff which is pathetic.

You think I don't like them? Seriously? Guys I've got over two hundred F4 comics from various runs dating back to the 80's. I love the team and each member for different reasons but I enjoyed them more when they got more development as individuals. Same thing for the X-Men. I don't see how my opinion is wrong or hypocritical. I don't need a team to fall back on to tell stories about a billionaire mutant or a guy who could burn down a city with a thought.

And the whole point of this RP is to put your own spin on cannon characters, is it not anymore? I think making Moon Knight anything other than somebody with a mental disorder is a bad move, but I'm not gonna go on about why I think it's wrong to make him anything besides that. I think making every super smart hero in Marvel a teenager is a bad move and I could easily give Drew shit over that, but again this game was always about making the characters your own. I personally didn't care for Hulkling and Gambit being agents of SHIELD, but again... That's just how players made the characters their own.

Quit being so damn critical and assuming I hate this or that.

He assumed I didn't like them when I've made it pretty clear in the past what... 3 or 4 attempts Drew and I have planned out an F4 RP I'm a bit of a fan. He literally called me a hypocrite, even though I never said "you can't take that character away from that team!"

You can call it throwing shade, I'm just giving my opinion. Only difference is I'm not pretending it's a fact.

Come on people. We're talking about fictional characters here. FICTIONAL characters. We all can be passionate about our favorite characters (DANNNNNNN SLOOOOOOOOTT! *shakes fist in the air*), but there is no need to be flinging insults at each other. Nothing kills a roleplay before it starts faster than bad attitudes. Just agree to disagree and move on.

@Dedonus I just thought about bringing my solo'ed Human Torch back into the game like I did in season 1, but I don't think I should have to be tied down to just F4 themed stuff. I'm willing to drop the unused tv pilot origin and go with the whole cosmic rays and getting powers with a few other people. I don't wanna intrude if somebody's got plans for an entire team of characters though.

In the first RP I had Human Torch originally and went solo with the intention of being an Avenger similar to the current comics. When Drew wanted to do the F4 I gave up my take so he could do his thing with the other two players because they had the majority of the four and another poster wanted Johnny Storm. I just wanna get back on the path to making him an Avenger.

I mean I'm not pretending anything is a fact. Kind of a poor hyperbole; might apply to what Drew said, though, I don't know. All I addressed is that removing him completely from the team that in part defines him is a poor move and implied what I like about The Fantastic Four is them being who they are and what they do. I never insulted you nor did I overtly criticize you, I simply disagreed.

I just wanna make the Torch an Avenger like he is right now in the comics. If you don't like his current situation that's all well and good, but I'm not going to assume anything. That's not being a hypocrite. Drew's acting like I wanted to completely remove Johnny from F4 history and I didn't plan on it this time around, but I do want him as an Avenger or even a member of the GotG. Hell I didn't even completely remove Archangel from the X-Men as he was still among the founding team however more briefly as it was more inspired by his 'Avenging Angel' days.

Pushing opinions like they're facts because you don't agree with something in a comic book is pretentious, call it a poor hyperbole if you want. You guys can gang up on me like I'm an F4 hater if you want too, @Dedonus said to drop it and I'm done. I'm not 'throwing shade', telling people they're making poor choices, etc. I'm just here to RP and put my own spin on a character for the sake of a new universe like everybody else is doing.
