Wood isn't all that weak.

But pikes are very long and people quite heavy, on top of having no obvious strong or weak points. You're basically making a lever where the fulcrum is near your hands and all the weight's at the other end. They're also not hugely thick or intended to have pressure like that.

Welp, these bandits are completely screwed.

Their advantage to the soldiers probably was based on surprise, and while they had some surprise here the Iron Rose Knights were expecting tricks and pretty much terrified the bandits just by being the Iron Rose Knights.

Buuuut things will be more complicated when we reach the camp.

Though I will say that the camp itself is going to be quite a bit less easy, though given that it doesn't look like any of the rambush party is going to escape at the moment they won't have a good chance to prepare.
