Elleonora Alnara

“That's been quite the dangerous life you've survived until now.” Elleonora said with a nod after the drow explained her past. Truly drow society was even worse than what the cleric was informed about! This called for intervention, but it was a hard thing to do... She couldn't wander into the underground and expect to survive, but at least that was also equally true for the return. Drow on the surface were, but rootless weeds. They would have some ground force with them, probably few drows and by what they saw so far gnolls. Who knew how many more of them were about the place as mercenaries.

“Race matters not for me. I've seen you as you are and I do not believe you deserve death. Still I understand the general standing of your race with the surface. After all nearly all the time drow are up here, it's to kill or pillage at best.” She said with a disappointed shake of her head.” Anyhow, if someone tries to kill you, they'd have to first dead with me.” The cleric stated.” We are part of the same party and I will not stand for people trying to hunt down or hurt my allies.”

“Catarina, do you need aid?” Elleonora asked when she suddenly noticed the other woman didn't seem too great right now.” I can use my magic on you too if you wish.”

Kalista Neles Ka Valesti

Kalista was quietly riding on the wagon, listening to the talks that were going on. She really felt sorry for Vivian. She was living a hunted life. People would be after her for a loong time. Probably unless her house was destroyed, she'd be continuously hunted by her kin. Maybe even after that, but if her house fell, she'd get some period of reprieve.

“Expect them to already know...” She suddenly stated with flat voice.” Maybe magic, maybe scouts from afar... just expect the attack to happen and the enemy knows.” The wizard proposed and looked backwards towards the direction they came from.” I'm just saying it's better to be prepared because the alternative isn't pretty. We already expended a number of our magical power in this skirmish, being caught unprepared later would be a catastrophe. For all we know there could have been gnolls hiding in the sands observing or some drow magic user was scrying on us.” The half elf added.

Malkai

Malkai didn't really pay attention to Vivian's story, as he didn't care for it. He was a half-orc; he understood quite well the prejudice she faced. Oh sure, he doesn't exactly have a tribe after his blood either, but mortal men have always fallen for the wiles of elves, but they from the woods or the dark. But the same couldn't be said about orcs. While drow may have a reputation for being deadly seductresses, orcs are best known as brutal rapists and treated as such, even for their half-blood kin. So Malkai knew what it was like to be constantly hunted down for who he was and what he did. It's why he intended to move along with his life after this job.

Meanwhile he had more important things to take care of, such as identifying this poison. Catarina was infected with a native venom, he knew that much. Some sort of snake poison. Malkai had a few balms to help ease the suffering, but until he could narrow down the source his general curatives may not do the trick. Fortunately Elleonora was here and hopefully she is a capable healer. Once he finished his observations Malkai moved out of the way to let her use her magic. "It's a venom from a native beast. Paralysis, likely meant for Vivian but just as dangerous on anyone else. The venom alone won't kill her, but if it isn't treated soon or correctly Catarina will be severely weakened."

Veridis Quo

Listening to Vivian's story Veridis made a note to record it. She might take offense to him keeping tabs, but the bard was never going to miss out on a potential story. Tales like these weren't too uncommon among the drow if Veridis knew anything about it. Plenty of Dark Elves simply want to go their own way in life, only to be forced back or killed by their own kin. What many would forget about the Dark Elves is how strongly they hold to tradition and family, to the point that it's often better to kill your own child than to let them get away. "This certainly sounds like an adventure all of it's own. I have no doubts that while we work on this quest, we'll be dragged into Vivian's problems. Not that I'm saying we should abandon her or anything, but I doubt this is the last we heard of them."

Veridis didn't want to seem negative, but it was the honest truth. He hoped that Vivian understood this and would be more cooperative in the future if she wants to minimize the trouble it brings. But that aside, there was still some daylight left. Keeping an eye on the horizon, Veridis watched as the sun set into night, and as the caravan pulled closer to the village.

Tamnuh

Soon the party would arrive to the village that Catarina had spoken of. It was late at night, and most of the towns people were asleep. There were a few militiamen keeping watch that night, young men wearing simple leather armor armed with spears, keeping an eye for bandits and thieves. When the party approached they were questioned about their business, but once they were told about the quest for the mage guild they allowed them entry. The Mage Guild had contacted them some time before that adventurers may come by to investigate a ruin at odd hours. There was an inn that the party could use, however they would need to pay for the rooms, stables, and meals on their own.

As for Tamnuh itself, because it was so late the streets were empty and very few people roamed the streets. The only people around were patrolling militiamen, stray dogs, and the occasional beggar who was looking for a new place to lay his head. Despite the harsh desert climate, outside of the village groves of trees were being grown and cultivated for their date fruits. Not only that but the village of Tamnuh had the great fortune of being built around a large oasis, which alone had the largest concentration of militia protecting it. These guards were better armed, wearing light chain shirts and armed with longbows and scimitars.

The inn that the party was directed towards was called the Desert Diamond. Despite it's name it was fairly shabby compared to the inns at Sapphire, and the party alone would have occupied two of the four tables presented in the room. Still the innkeeper did have enough beds for everyone, as well as a stable for the horse and wagon. It would be 2 gold pieces for each person, and the price to use the stable would be 10 gold piece. But with that pay, the horses shall be fed and taken care of, as those who pay for their room would also get a complimentary meal. A bit of goat cheese, flat bread, and assorted fruits and juices. For an extra five silvers the innkeeper's daughter would also make shawarma.

From the village to the ruins would only be an hour by foot, and ten minutes by horse. However since it's only recently been discovered there has been no camps set up yet, and the inn keeper says that he has seen brigands poke around the ruins recently. None have entered, but he does know that at least one clan of gnolls have shown some interest in the ruins. He worries that they may raid the village for supplies if they intend to excavate it for treasure. The militia are always willing to fend them off, but the village of Tamnuh would still suffer loses due to their numbers.

Vivian

It seemed like hours ago that the wagon started moving again and as soon as sight of the village came to view she immediately put back on her necklace. Right as soon as it clicked into place her dark ebony appearance went back to the white skin of the surface elf they saw before. She was not going to take any chances at all. Not here.... not in this far off village. She was able to peer out of the wagon and gave a nod to one of the guards. The tiny village was empty almost void of life except for patrolmen. It was night though so that would count towards the emptiness. The guards where armed rather well too. They looked as if they could send back a attack if they had to. She knew her kin would not wait long before trying again. Even now she knew that it was greatly possible. Then again,... her brethren could already be here. Waiting and watching for the best time to attack. It weighed heavily on her mind. Until she spotted the inn they were going to stay the night in. The rooms were not too pricey and the stable cost wasn't too steep. Surely they could put in together for that. With that she paid her way into one of the rooms.

Two gold pieces was easily parted with for some rest. She surely needed to. The spells she used dont come cheap after all. She didn't expect to share a room but then again if someone did accompany her she wouldn't complain. She wondered up the stairs to her room and entered it rather quickly. She felt she would take her meal private. The room itself wasn't too large but it was good enough for her. It did not take long before her heard a knock at her door. She was a little nervous and recalled about the complimentary meal. She wasn't to sure about any of it. Some of it was still all too foreign for her. Well not the goat cheese. They had acquired it time to time in the underdark. The bread was different though as well as some of the fruits.

When she opened the door she found one of the servers stand there with her meal. She could eat it down below like some of the others but she didn't feel to comfortable with so many eyes watching her. What she didn't expect was Alexander standing beside her with Fordes.

"Seeing as your people are after you, and only you. You are the only one here who is in the most danger. I decided that it might be best if Fordes stays with you tonight." He said. Before she could dispute or say anything he left with the dire wolf entering and picking a spot in the darkest corner. She sighed and shrugged as she watched the server place the tray on a table. It all looked rather appetizing to be honest. She poked at the bread and raised a brow on how it even felt different from most bread she had eaten. She sat herself down and looked to the window and outside. Tomorrow they can offically start the quest and enter the cursed temple. What got her nervous about it was that others were investigating it as well.

That there were also Gnolls around checking the temple out as well. Where these the same Gnolls that attacked them. If so,... does that mean her kin have a interest in it as well? As soon as the door closed behind the servant girl Vivian once more removed the necklace. Her drow features coming back into place. Soon,... once she got a name for herself and a reputation she would not have to hide anymore. Hopefully. She picked up one of the exotic fruits of the locals and looked it. It was small and green with a weird fuzzy like surface. Maybe Catarina would join her and tell her what this stuff is, but the warrior couldn't always be with her for answers. She simply just bit into it and squinted at its sour taste followed after a sweet flavor. The skin itself was sour but the fruity meat below was what was sweet.

Alexander

After paying for his room and giving Vivian some company with the help of Fordes. He was glad the inn keeper let him bring the dire wolf in with him. I guess these people aren't as edgy as those in Saphire that or the could read him like a book and see that Fordes wouldn't attack unless told to or threatened. He decided to head back to the lobby rather then stay in his room. He wanted to taste some of the local's stock. He wanted to try something new. Once he returned he looked to the bar table and moved to sit on a stool. What he saw was your assortment of alchoholic beverages as well as a few other things. He saw something with a white silk like color and pointed at it. "What is that?"He asked.
"That sir is coconut water" The keep answered. Alex was a little hesitant into going forward with his plan to try it but the shrugged tossing down a few silvers.
The keep poured him a glass and the ex soldier took a sniff of it. It was most certainly different alright. He pressed it to his lips and then took a drink of it. Not a whole lot of it just enough to get the flavor in. It wasn't the best thing he had but it wasn't the worse either.

He wondered if any of the others were down here as well. As he wondered this he noticed his reflection in a mirror like surface on the bar's back wall. He saw the handiwork of Elleonora and her healing abilities. It still left them in scars but they were not too brutal like they would have been if left to heal alone. He smirked as he kept moving his head. "I think the scars make me a little bit more dashing." Or at least more serious. Possibly even more intimidating.

Elleonora Alnara

The village they eventually reached was rather unassuming. While in transit, Elleonora had taken to use her last magic of the tier remove the paralysis effect on Catarina. It wasn't complete heal, but considering the poison and it's effect, by the time her magic wore off, the poison would be nearly gone from her body.

When they arrived and went for an inn to rest, Elleonora was rather calm as she also paid for a room and went in it for the time.” Excuse me, can you bring me a bucket of water and a basin of some kind?” She asked one of the inn workers as she climbed the stairs to her room for the night.

Once inside she quickly reached to her hammer and with a flick of her wrist removed it from it's buckle, before carefully lean it on the wall. She then had just finished taking off the steel plate chest piece when there was a knock on the door. A familiar voice follows of the inn worker who led her to her room, informing her that her bucket of water and a basin were here. With a smile she took them from him and closed the door behind herself.

About half an hour later she was finally going down into the inn's main area. Her wet hair was clinging to her neck and she gave off a rather refreshed feeling. She wasn't wearing her chain and plate mail, instead she wore a long simple linen dress and on her belt was hanging a rectangular pouch. The only thing that currently broke her simple pretty village woman look was her trusty hammer that she carried in one hand. In difference from earlier, the hammer was now shiny clean, it's dark metal surface, shining on the lights within the inn.

She quickly noticed Alexander and walked over to him. Leaning her hammer on the bar, she hopped on one of the stools.” Get me a cup of water and some bread.” She stated, asking for a rather simple set of a meal.

“You indeed look better with that scar.” She stated with a smile, reaching into her pouch and pulling smoking pipe just big enough to barely fit in her pouch. Then also from the pouch she pulled a small wooden box and from it some herbs. The moment the wooden box opened, a nice cherry aroma filled the air. The herbs were simple smoking leaf, but in addition in the box were grind up dried cherries. To add nice aroma to the smoking leaf.

Catarina La’Spada

By the time everyone reached the village Catarina was feeling a lot better. While her wound was numb, the rest of her body felt healthy. A clean bandage and a good night’s rest and she should be all better. Inside the village everything seemed normal at least for Catarina. She was already familiar with their militia and their tactics. Hell, she trained them. Though back then they only had shields and spears. Either things have been getting better and the militia can afford better equipment, or worse and they need these new arms and armor.

At the inn Catarina was quick to buy herself a room and get out of her armor. While it was comfortable enough to wear while travelling, she wasn’t going to keep it on as she slept. Getting out of her armor by herself was a long and tedious process, but soon enough she striped down to her undergarments. Changing out from her sweaty, battle worn clothing, she changed into a fresh pair and into a simple cotton robe. It was locally made and had some embroidery, but Catarina brought it for it’s durability. Always a tight with her money, Catarina preferred to invest in quality goods than to get by with cheap ones.

Eventually the warrior woman would arrive to the common area. The others may not even recognize her outside of her armor; while her onion-like full plate gave her the impression of being a heavy-set woman, Catarina had a more athletic build leaning towards a sharper figure. She couldn’t pass herself off as any pepite noblewoman or scholar, but Catarina wasn’t nearly as husky as her armor would have implied.

Alexander and Elleonora was here too. Alexander was talking about his scars, but Catarina simply crossed her arms and smiled at him. Her arms, strong and chiseled, were covered in scars. As a youth she had mixed feelings about scars, thinking them as true marks of a warrior. She also thought that anyone who got cut was a fool who got themselves hurt. But as a seasoned warrior she knew that getting a few nicks or even grievous wounds would be inevitable in her line of work, and a scar shows that she survived the worse of it. If she didn’t, then she wouldn’t be around to show them off.

What did interest Catarina more though was Elleonora smoking from her pipe. Her choice of herb was different from what Catarina was used too, and the cherry incense was odd too, but Catarina once shared a similar habit. Only she stopped due to the rising prices of cannabis. Something about orcish raids destroying farms or some such. A real shame. Mouth watering, Cataraina nearly asked Elleonora for a hit but instead got herself a meal instead. Some cheese and bread with a side of fruit and juices. Sitting with her party members Catarina just couldn’t resist asking.

”Smells nice. Where’d you get it?”

Parum

As everyone went inside the inn, Parum took care of the horses. She bartered with the innkeeper, trading some of the things they found from the gnolls to pay for the stables and her own room. They didn’t take everything like their armor, but Parum made sure to take the weapons at least. Plus whatever else was hidden in their pockets. Once she had the room and stable situation dealt with Parum went to her room, hauling her huge bag with her. It was almost comical seeing the little halfling trying to fit the massive back through the halls, but she managed somehow.

Once inside she took off her robe and changed to reveal her casual outfit. Parum may not be as tall and exotic as a drow, but she knew how to use seduction for her ends too. But there was a time and place for Parum to show off her assets and that time was now. If she wanted to get “closer” to her would be partners, she’d need to act vulnerable and trusting with them. Getting out of her robes would be step one, and the next step would be sharing a meal and drink with them. Still, Parum wasn’t a complete fool. Even if she doesn’t expect trouble from her party, there was still the threat of those gnolls and drow chasing Vivian. Thus Parum kept a slender dagger hidden on her person. Despite her form-fitting outfit, there was still plenty of places for this little thief to hide a weapon.

After getting ready Parum skipped down to the common area where everyone else seemed to be at. The first thing she noticed was the combined scent of pipeweed and cherry. Parum was quite familiar with both: Halflings practically have a monopoly on pipeweed, and cherries were very popular summer fruits. In fact, cherries grew quite well in regions like this.

”Ah, smells like home. Nothing like a few puffs to end the night with, eh chums?” Parum took out her own pipe, lighting up the fine handling pipeweed within. She took a seat near the others and ordered everyone a round of whatever ale was on tap. ”What a day, what a day. we got ourselves an adventure and then some.”

Malkai

Once at the village, Malkai was quick to go his own way. While everyone else went to the common area to relax Malkai stayed in his room to meditate. He had ordered some food to be delivered to his room and specifically called for fresh berries. Falchion rested upon his staff and was already getting read to head to bed. While Malkai's partner tends to keep an eye open when he sleeps, today was also a very strenuous day after all that fighting and flying.

Some time passed and soon there was a knock on his door. Malkai went to answer it and it was one of the servant, who had brought him a plate with bread, a bowl of berries, and a mug of water. Malkai wordlessly took these things and closed the door on the servant. Closing the window curtains, Malkai took off his wooden masks and revealed his face. To a casual observer he could pass as human, but without his skin-changing pigments and his large wooden mask, a keen eye could spot his orcish features. And the last thing Malkai or this group needed was more people hunting them down for the race of certain party members.

After getting comfortable Malkai ate his meal quietly, but left a few berries untouched. They were indeed freshly picked; he could still taste the earthly energies in the juices. So he casted a spell on them. Donning his mask Malkai's hand hovered over the berries. [Goodberry.] Malkai said in druidic. A brief flash of energy flown into the berries and soon, twelve berries were infused with magical energy. Now these berries could provide sustenance as if they were a full meal, as well as heal very minor injuries, within the next 24 hours. It wouldn't be as good as a proper healing spell but they could work in a pinch.

Next thing Malkai did was go up to his window. Using only his finger he inscribed runes into his window still. [Flame Trap.] He was slightly worried about possible drow assassins coming through his room and intended to ward them as appropriate. He would do the same for the door but before he did so, he wrote a note that said "Do not Disturb - Party members knock first". If they barge into his room anyways, it was their fault for not reading the sign. Once he felt his room was secure Malkai crawled into bed and went to sleep.

Veridis Quo

At the Desert Diamond, Veridis personally made sure his horse was comfortable inside. He was no Druid but he could tell his horse got really spooked when the gnolls attacked. ”Shh, shh. You did great today. Yours safe here.” Feeding the horse a sugar cube Veridis left the beast to rest.

Inside some of the others were already conversing and eating. Normally Veridis would use a time like this to chat or tell stories, but he figured that this was a time to relax not showboat. So instead he walked towards the inn’s hearth, taking out his lute to play a soothing tune for the others.

[Desert Diamond, Common Area]

Sitting at a table in the far back right corner of the tavern or inn was a hooded man. He looked up and watched the new visitors
one by one enter the establishment. He noticed something odd about one of them. A elf in the company of some rather interesting friends.
He snickered and pulled from his pocket a tiny mouse and brought it up to his mouth so he could whisper into its ears. "They've arrived"
Then placed the mouse down and it scurried off. He then got up and headed for the door. As he exited one of the villages guards entered.
The guard moved to a table and sat down plopping his helmet down on the table.

One of the bar maids looked up at the right time and sighed. The guard looked rather exhausted like the day had been much longer for this one.
She walked over and leaned onto on of the chairs. "Everything alright? Another rough night huh?" She asked. He looked up at her and then
back at the table. "You could say that,... me and a few of my fellow guardsmen where patrolling on a simple night survey. Then Jenna got hit with
a black arrow of some kind. It wasn't one of the Gnoll arrows either. It was different. The design of the tip and when we took him to the apothocarythere was not much we could do. Turns out the arrow was poisoned by some sort of advanced spider venom."
The talk began to make the woman nervous. This also caused the man who was leaving to freeze for a second and look to the guard. The face of concern on his face gave it away. This was not something he wanted to hear.

"Shit,..she will want to hear about this." He said in a low voice. Not sure if anyone heard him or not he fully left the tavern.

Vivian

What felt like hours was only minutes as Vivian laid upon her bed staring at the ceiling of the room. She closed her eyes in attempt to sleep. She heard a sound of a bird landing on the window and looked over to see a Raven staring right at her. Then she heard a voice. "Well now,.. to think I would see you here of all places." As she heard the voice she looked in its direction to see a familiar person sitting in a chair in the corner. "Long time no see Cassandra,..." She said. The dark elf the emerged from the dark corner and into the light. Unlike her sister Vivian who had silver white hair. Cassandra's hair was a bright red color and matched her just as red eyes. "..Im impressed that you survived the trek of the underdark dear sister. That place is dangerous for a book worm like yourself. You spent to long in that library."

Vivian rolled her eyes and moved to stand but felt her sisters hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry, I know your not here to chase after me. You would not be in the company of these strange people if you where. Your out here like me on the run from our brothers and sisters. Problem is you lead them straight to me. Good thing they don't know that yet. Your eyes have been opened and now you are here." The words caused Vivian to pause for a second and as she looked up she felt her sisters lips against her forhead. This caused her to blink and when her eyes re opened she could see deeply into the red eyes. "I can not travel with you, so don't bother asking. It is best if the two of us are not in the same place at one time. However, I do have friends and I will use them to keep you informed on our brothers and sisters. Expect a attack inside the temple."

With that Cassandra then kissed her sister upon the lips and pulled back. She pulled out a knife and took one of the fruits from the basket and took a bite from it. She smiled and looked to the window." Its a shame,... it was quite a wonderful night out." She said. Vivian looked to the window and then looked back to find her sister gone. The whole thing took her breathe away. She was in shock to find her sister here of all places and to find that Cassandra was willing to help her. After everything that had happened.... Vivian looked to the necklace and sighed. No way was she getting some sleep now. She grabbed it and put it on instantly turning back to her surface elf features. With that she exited the room and proceeded to go down the stairs.

Alexander

Alex had no idea these two ladies where this into the leaf. They seamed rather enjoying it. Not that he never partook in it himself. Nothing like a good puff here and there after a battle. It did make for a good stress reliever and he could see that Elleonara took it to a whole new level by adding cherries to it. Some people liked it in that way. He couldn't say he was too into the different scents really. He was more into tasting the different mead or ales then he was of tobacco. Speaking of mead.... "Bartender,... I would like to try the local mead. Not going to get a whole lot. Don't want to have a hangover tomorrow." He said as he pulled a coin forth. Soon after the mead was poured and he quickly too a drink. It had a bit of spice too it which he did not expect. It was a sweet spice though cinnamon to be exact. He thought it was actually... pretty good.

Soon he noticed from the reflection that the woman of the hour had decided to join them. Vivian seemed a bit odd though as if her mind was else where but only for a few seconds as she seemed to get back to the present. Was it the necklace?... perhaps with their help the locals can see Vivian as not the drow but for what she was. Tell then the woman had to put on a disguise. He sighed as she approached.
"Couldn't sleep huh?"
"You can say that,... my mind is to far off to sleep." She looked to see if the bar had any wines. She noticed some elven wine and raised a brow. There where no elves
here from what she could tell yet there it was. They must have it shipped for their elven guests that arrive. She gestured to the bottle and put a few gold pieces down.
"Keep them coming..." She said as she touched her lips with her finger tips. She couldn't help wonder what her sister was thinking doing all that. Her sister always liked teasing her. She wondered if Cass had found a new lover yet... or would it be too hard for her to do so.

Elleonora Alnara

“Hey, Catarina.” Elleonora called when the other warrior of the group joined them. The cleric then smiled when she showed interest in her pipeweed. It was nice to meet a fellow person who appreciates the niceties of a good smoking pipe. She then pulled a little from the pipe, before exhaling the smoke in the form of a nice ring.” I bought the leaves from a traveling merchant before I headed through the desert, but for the cherry incense, I made it myself. I learned it from an old traveling wizard from up north. He took me under his wing once I got injured and needed place to stay while I was healing.” She explained and slowly faced her pipe towards Catarina.” Want to try it?” She asked with a smile.

“Ohh, Parum, yes indeed.” The cleric agreed, still offering her pipe to Cata to try it.” One of the more enjoyable things I allow myself every now and then.” She admitted with a smile. As a cleric she had been rather lucky because her powers came not from a deity, but her own conviction of helping people and code of honor. Thus effectively making it that as didn't really have things she had to withheld from herself.

Her ears then perked up when she heard their bard starting his craft. It was nice tune, it relaxed the mind and body, especially when it was coupled with the nice scent of cherry in the air.

“Ahh, Vivian, glad to see you join us. What's your opinion on pipeweed?” The cleric asked with a smile. The cleric didn't say it, but she suspected something had happened. People didn't just change their decision like that. Still it was nice the elf had joined them. It made it easier to defend her. That said only the druid and the wizard of the group hadn't appeared still. Elleonora had not actually seen the half elf woman since they arrived and took to their rooms. Maybe she'd join them later.

Kessel

It's been a long and tiring journey, but Kessel, Gear, and Shayle finally managed to make it! They've spent the past month searching for clues about this ruined temple and it wasn't until they reached Sapphire that they finally managed to catch a solid lead. Normally Kessel would refuse to work with the mage guild because of her past experiences, but she wasn't going to waste resources. If what they said is true and that the desert storms have unearthed this ancient unholy temple, then Kessel wanted to make sure she could get to it ASAP. While most would think temples are more important for their holy artifacts or their importance to their deities, Kessel was more interested in their architecture and design. What many people overlook is that these temples aren't just altars to their gods, but complicated structures made with the combined efforts of magic and engineering. Kessel wanted to study and learn these things in order to better design and upgrade Gear so that one day he may be a powerful golem.

She had Gear stay outside since he was too big to fit through the doors, leaving him in the stables. Since he wasn't a horse Kessel didn't need to pay for anyone to take care of him, and if anyone wanted to steal him they'd have to try to move a 700 pound metal construct. When she reached to the main lobby it looked like there was already a group here. If she had to guess, these were the people that the mage guild said they sent to investigate these ruins. They certainly didn't look like locals. "Hey Shayle, go talk to those guys while I get us a room." Fortunately they only needed to pay for one room, since Shayle liked sleeping on her bedroll. That left the bed for Kessel.

Shayle

At least Shayle's journey hasn't been too boring. When she initially met Kessel and her golem the dwarvish berserker wanted to fight it, but seeing that it wasn't combat ready Shayle was very disappointed. Fortunately it seemed like just having a golem made Kessel a prime target for robbers and thieves, so Shayle found entertainment protecting the gnome from threats. That's how she got her job as Kessel's bodyguard. There wasn't really a contract or any pay involved: As long as Kessel didn't just settle down and kept looking for adventure, and Shayle gets to keep whatever loot she kills, they had a deal. it was a simple arrangement. For the past month she and Kessel had been looking for ways to upgrade her golem. Despite her knowledge with smithing Golem crafting was a different beast that Shayle had no interest in learning. If Kessel needed metal than Shayle could help, maybe hammer a few plates, but beyond that it was Kessel's own business. At least the gnome made sure to dive into every ruin and raid every wizard tower between here and West Harbor, otherwise Shayle would have been very bored.

Once they got to the inn Shayle wasted no time getting familiar with some of the other patrons. The first thing that hit her was the smell of pipeweed and cherries. Shayle wasn't a fan of tobacco but she wasn't going to raise a fuss about it. Reaching to bartender Shayle put down a ten gold pieces. "An ale fer each of us!" Shayle exclaimed loudly. As the barkeep went to fill up the mugs Shayle approached Alexander, as he was the only male here (She noticed Veridis but thought he was a woman). "Heh, is that mead I smell? With a hint of cinnamon too. Surely yer not just gonna have one, are ye?" From the smell alone Shayle thinks she could handle ten of them before she'd even feel tingly. If there was one thing about this country she was disappointed in, it's that the alcohol was weak. Tasty, but weak.

Catarina La'Spada

"Don't mind if I do!" Catarina eagerly took the pipe and took a long drag from it. Perhaps it was a bit greedy, but it's been years since she had any good pipeweed. Everything else had either been second hand or low-quality contraband. Literally poison. While this pipeweed tasted different than the one she was used too, it was genuine. She was tempted to keep it but handed the pipe back to Elleonora. "That's good stuff. Been too long since I've had something like this. In my earlier years, pipeweed kept me sane after a battle. All the gore and bodies... You get used to the killing after a while, but the smell..." Catarina's body shook. Even now it unnerved her a bit. Even for a harden mercenary she can be shocked at an after-battle scene. It wasn't as if it was new to her or anything. And after being without pipeweed for so long, but still being a mercenary, she was actually quite use to taking in the smell of dead bodies. But if she had the choice, she'd prefer the scent of burning herbs.

Parum joined them followed by Vivian. Seemed like their elf friend was having a hard time sleeping, and needed a drink. Catarina certainly wouldn't mind a cold one. Fortunately for her, they had some generous friends come through: A gnome and a dwarf. Dwarves were fairly common back at Sapphire, but not one like this. She dressed almost like Elleonora with her heavy plate and mail armor, and carried an axe as broad as her body. The gnome was definitely a foreigner: Catarina would remember a hairstyle like hers. The dwarf, Shayle as the gnome called her, came over and ordered everyone an ale. The dwarf was definitely new here too: the ale here wasn't all that great. Pretty good all things considered, but their ale was too fruity. Lacked the punch of truth alcohol. Still Catarina appreciated the gesture and accepted an ale from the dwarf.

"Don't know if you're after my gold or my heart, but you're taking a step in the right direction. Name's Catarina La'Spada, perhaps you've heard of me." Things were going pretty well so far. Sure things got a bit dramatic on the way here, but that was part of the adventuring life. Vivian turns out to be a drow and there's assassins or something after her. Gnolls are active around this area and the mercenary suspects she'll be seeing a lot more of them. But they had alcohol, Veridis was playing a tune, and all things considered this was good company. Catarina didn't have any complaints.

Parum

"Yup yup! I'll admit I keep a personal stock of pipeweed that I could smoke every night, but if I did that it wouldn't be nearly as savoring. But I think I'll make tonight and exception." Joining the others around the table Parum took a few puffs from her pipe as she listened to Catarina be nostalgic. Pipeweed was often used by soldiers during war to mask the smell and grime of war. Parum's done business at many war camps and has looted from a battlefield before. As a youth she couldn't stomach it, but now she'd have no problems stealing the valuables off a warm body if there was no one to stop her. Parum wished she could say she was only doing it to survive, but at that point in her life she was already quite well established in the merchant's guild and could have turn to an honest life at any time. But the allure of filthy lucre was too great for this halfling.

As Parum settled down Vivian arrived. Seemed like today's events weighed heavily on her mind. As more guests showed up Parum went over to Vivian at the bar counter. Parum's mercantile eye noted that Vivian was drinking a very elven wine. It was vaguely familiar and Parum was certain she had traded some before, but she's traded a lot of things in the past. She wasn't sure of the make of this vintage, but Vivian obviously recognized it. Putting a few silver pieces on the counter Parum joined Vivian for a drink. "Make that for two. So Vivian, what's your thoughts on all of this? The job, the pay, the stakes. Part of me still thinks this is too good to be true."

Ten thousand gold was nearly a king's ransom. If not a king, at least a prince or an something. She's seen noble clans fight for that much. Truthfully if she didn't already have an idea of what sort of artifact they would be getting their hands on, Parum would have been more than willing to accept the job for the pay alone. Hence why she felt this all seemed too good to be true. Part of her did wonder if this job was actually sponsored by the drow who are after Vivian. But what were the chances of that? "Makes ya wonder what's really at stake, eh?"

Vivian

Vivian picked up the glass with the first serving of wine sitting inside. She swished it around as she listened to Parum's words. Ten thousand gold for a artifact of Nerul most likely. It was a reward that would draw in numerous folk. She took in a mouth full of the wine from her glass and let the taste hit her tongue before swallowing it down. She then looked to Parum. "The job itself could be dangerous, I mean be it if this was any other temple such as one of Pelor or Corellian we would not have to worry about traps or curses, but no... this is a temple of a dark god. Of Nerul to be exact. The Reaper, the god of death and trickery. I expect this temple will be full of not just mundane traps but of magical traps." She answered. She took another drink of the wine. She looked to the pipe that was offered to her from Elleonara and waved her hand. "I'll pass, that is of little interest to me. Although the substance did make it easier for my kin to enslave the lesser minds of the surface to fight our battles for us..." She said holding that last bit for awhile as a smirk formed. "I'm joking,... the races we often tricked were brainless from the start anyways. Orcs, Gnolls, goblinkin,... those types."

She turned to Parum once again. "As for the pay,... well they had to make it worth the while,.. I suppose. There are plenty of people that would take up a quest like that for that much. If bodies was what they wanted they sure got it." She said. Refering not only to our group but even people who are still arriving to take up the mission. The quest and task was obviously a loud and popular subject. Why wouldn't be... ten thousand gold was at stake. It would make any man a rich person. Even she was thinking of the gold and how it could help herself.

"I believe it is most certainly worth the trouble,.. I mean that big of a reward would most certainly get me some friends in high places. Enough so that I wouldn't need this necklace anymore." She added. Then she sighed at the recall of Gnolls being sighted at the temple. "Sadly we are not the first ones there though,... The new of Gnolls being there bothers me. If in anyway these Gnolls are connected to the same group that attacked us then.... well I expect to seem a few of my kin there." Something like a artifact of Nerul would get her kins interest and if they can bag a deserter like herself in the process it would make the hunt worth it. The chalice was likely not the only thing down there either. Could be plenty of treasure down there to peak their interests. There was also her sisters visit... was she here also for the chalice? Was she also interested in the reward for it.

She then figured out that Cassandra was not wearing much for a disguise. She showed her drow features without hiding it at all. Was this town more civil towards drow then most? Or did her sister already form connections. "Oh,... by the way while I was in my room I got paid a little visit from someone.....unexpected." She looked around the tavern to see how many people were within. "I think it wise if I tell you all in detail of the visit later though.... more private and on the road."

Alexander

Alex looked down and over to the dwarf. She had asked if he was only having just one. He thought about it and shrugged. "As much as I do like mead, I think I may just keep to the one. We got some enemies that I want to be a bit sober to face." He said. If the drow do appear,... from what he heard just one could prove difficult with their skills in the blade and poison. They will be one tough challenge. Something a warrior like himself would find exciting. Even if he died to the blade of one of them... it may just be one worthy. He then looked to Vivian as he over heard her little talk with Parum. The subject was about the temple and their mission. The reward was a bit high.... I mean if they were being sent to destroy a lich or something of that stature then yeah ten thousand would sound reasonable. However,... this chalice did not sound like something worth that much.

Unless...... unless it was just a lure and this mage was just a agent of Vivian's house. That would explain how the Gnolls knew which group to attack. I mean Vivian was in the wagon. You could not see her for the most of it tell she joined Parum in the front so how would they know?.... unless the mage or someone in town told them what to look for. He sighed and rubbed his forehead. Damn it Parum..... I dont need this trail of thought right now. The chance of there not even being a reward was not something he wanted to think about. Alex looked back at the dwarf. He decided to engage in a conversation to get it of his mind. "My name is Alexander Von Wolfe, I belonged to a family of knights up north. Maybe you heard of it. Anyhow we would ride into battle on dire wolves. It was fun times for awhile. Tell I became the last Wolfe."

Veridis Quo

As the bard strummed his lute a young woman came and gave him some ale. Veridis recognized her as the innkeeper's daughter, and apparently someone just brought him a drink. Looking back at the group he could see that a pink-haired dwarf had joined the others and in typical dwarven fashion she was already drinking. Not one to waste a good thing Veridis took a drink from the ale, tasting the bitter yet fruity beverage. Having never been a connoisseur of alcohol however, Veridis wasn't sure if this was good or bad. He wasn't puking however, so it was good enough.

Though Veridis thought about speaking to the newcomers, he chose to simply remain in the background to provide ambiance. It might seem strange for a bard not to take the front stage, but a good bard knows his place. Not everyone is the lead, and sometimes you need someone to set the mood. Seeing that the night was growing older and they had new, pleasant company, he decided to play a different tune. Though the establishment was smaller and less refined than the taverns at Sapphire, something about it's small-town, rustic feel gave it a charm that he wouldn't find in the big city. Between sips of ale and listening to the hearthfire crackle, Veridis was tempted to simply close his eyes and turn in for the night. But if the bard was going to do anything for the party tonight, it'd be to provide music and company until he's the last man standing.

Parum

"For this kind of pay, I'm more worried about enemies in high places. If the guild is paying top coin for us to retrieve this treasure, who knows what others would pay to get it out of our hands. Places like Sapphire aren't known for being all peace and harmony. Regular business can be rather cutthroat, but once you throw in magic and influential forces like the guild, there's always more subterfuge at work than meets the eye. And that's not including Vivian's... Friends." Parum has seen conspiracies like this before, and engaged in a few herself. What appears to be a simple job turns out to be a key piece to a larger wheel in motion. That's why Parum cared little about the guild's reward to reap the benefits of the chalice herself: who knows what sort of powers were actually involved in all of this, and the halfling had no interest in being their pawn.

It was a risky game of course. If she makes the wrong turn then she'd end up with a big target on her back. BUt that's why she was here to make friends after all. Vivian mentioned being visited by someone, which did put Parum on edge. She didn't hear anything amiss. No doubt Vivian's guest was a magic user just like her, which made things all the more complicated. Parum was used to dealing with thieves, burglars, and assassins of the mundane sort, but mages threw a wrench into things. Conventional means to stop others wouldn't work on them, and no doubt if Vivian's guest could make a silent entry so could her enemies. "Viv, you're horrible at keeping a low profile. Barely a day out of the city and with us and you've already been found." Sighing, Parum took a puff from her pipe. She needed something to calm her nerves and figure out how to survive tonight without some drow assassin slicing her throat.

"Hmm... It may be in our best interest if we share rooms together. Watch each other's backs, keep watch tonight. We already know someone is after Viv, so I think she's the one we need to worry most about."

Elleonora Alnara

Elleonora nodded at Catarina's explanation for the reason she had started smoking. The gore of battle, truly the main source of clients for the smoking weeds growers. There were so many different kinds out there, some even quite addictive, but Elleonora kept to simple pipe leaf. It was simple, not really many negative qualities... that and it made the best smoke out there! Some of the best smoke figures she'd seen were made with the halfling's pipe leaf.” Quite so, though in my case I started smoking a lot after the fact.” The cleric admitted with a smile, remembering the days.” I had already a few major battles under my belt when I got kind of put in a bad situation... and old wizard showed up and bailed me out. While I was healing from my wounds, he gave me his pipe. Good times~” She whistled, noting that they had new arrivals... Arrivals that went for Alexander right away... well similar to how smoking had been a good conversation breaker for the lady group here, there were also those who had preference for alcohol and the cleric wasn't one to judge. She liked dwarves.

“You have my thanks for the drink too. My name's Elleonora Alnara.” Elleonora chimed in after Catarina with grateful voice and a smile. She couldn't help, but like the armor the dwarf wore. The northern styled heavy armor was truly a marvel, a marvel that not many actually understood. A thing for which she was happy in the presant company was the fact that both Alexander and Catarina had great armors. The rest not really, but each had their specialty. Overall the party was rather well rounded.

“Well there are smoking herbs out there that cause hypnotic and thought affecting effects.” The cleric replied to Vivian's statement.” There are those used for pain relieve or recreation and then there are ones used to affect the minds of people. Mind you those affected are rarely thinking straight and on that thought we should be wary of such things in the temple too. Best way to tear a well armed group in close spaces would be to poison them with something that affects their heads... gases of different kinds or confusion magics.”

“As for the night a bigger number of us staying at a each room would be better indeed, Parum.” Elleonora agreed, tilting her head with thinking expression.” The rooms aren't big enough for all of us even if we go with only women in a room sadly. That said Catarina, you could stay with Vivian tonight if you agree. Considering the situation you're the best one to do so. If something does try to crawl to you and cause trouble your shield and sword would be a lot more useful than my hammer in the split second chances. Parum you too proved quite the marksman with throwing knives today. Could be a good thing for you to also be around Vivian.” Elleonora stated with a smile and knowing face. She did catch a glimpse of the skill the halflight displayed and was rather impressed.

Kalista Neles Ka Valesti

Kalista had excused to her room pretty much the moment the group had arrived at the inn. She didn't feel well, but tried her best not to show it. This was not the first time this had happened and she knew it wouldn't be the last. Hard of breathing with rapid heartbeat... among other things. She had barely made it into her room before her condition worsened. She didn't even made it all the way to the bed, instead she simply put a hand on her chest, her back leaned with force on the wall and she quickly slid down first to a sitting position and then laying on her side by the door.

There was nothing to be done about her condition really. The thing that caused her to be in this condition was not something that could be that easily fixed. If she survived this job, she'd have more than enough money to deal with this and no one would be the wiser about it. For that reason she simply pressed a hand to her chest, grit her teeth and waited for it to pass, laying down on the floor with her grimoire next to her head, half opened and the whip crumbled on her as if a giant snake. 'It will pass soon...' She thought as her condition was slowly returning to normal.' The music's too slow...' She thought, hearing the distant scratching of Veridis on his lute.” He needs some vocals... and better rhythm... more celebration sound music...” She mumbled, trying to stand up from the ground, but her success wasn't exactly stellar.

Kessel

Kessel got a room for herself and Skayle, though with all the other adventurers she had to make due with a less-then-stellar single room. It was a good thing Kessel was a small person already or there may have been problems. Stopping by the room it was indeed quite small: just a bed and enough floorspace for Shayle and their things. Maybe, if Shayle leaves her axe underneath the bed. Still compared to how she lived back at Luskan sleeping in a bed was better than sleeping in a box. Kessel was heading towards the lobby where everyone else was when she heard a soft thud. On instinct she grabbed her wrench expecting an attack. It may seem a bit jumpy, but Kessel didn't live this long without being a bit paranoid. Now that thud might have been nothing, but it could have also been something. Better safe than sorry.

Moving closer to the source of the noise Kessel was faced with one of the guest room doors. Something or someone was over there. If there was nothing and she went to investigate, than there shouldn't be a problem. But if there's something here then it was a good thing she was within shouting distance of the others. Kessel knocked lightly on the door at first, knocking slightly louder as she spoke. "Hello? Anyone inside?"

Shayle

"Bah! Facing yer enemies!? That's the best time to be drinkin'! Why if it were me, I'd drink just to make some enemies. If I wanted to live a life without trouble, I'd be a wife!" Shayle gave a hearty laugh as the ale was passed around. Shayle downed her's quickly and slammed the mug on the table before the barmaid even left. "Another!" As she was being poured another pint the others introduced themselves. Alexander, Catarina, and Elleonora. Humans from the looks of them. Humans were good; sure most of her foes had been humans, but Shayle also has plenty of friends who had been human. "Acht, where me manners now. I come barging in fer drinks, and don't even introduce myself! Ya think a dwarf would begin telling everyone who she and her family is. Eh... Anyways, the name's Shayle. Now, what's this I hear about some trouble?"

Cheap mead wasn't the only thing that Shayle had smelled on the way in. This place had the scent of elves about it. Shayle wasn't any more a fan of elves than she was orcs. Be it high, wood, or dark, those pointed-eared bastards couldn't go a minute without trying to trick you into some scheme or conspiracy of theirs. Shayle had made the mistake before of thinking that not all elves were a bunch of lying tricksters who are more interested in using you as a cog than who you really are. At least orcs were straightforward: they wanted to kill you for your stuff and because they hated you. But an elf, an elf could kill you for some ridiculous reason that only makes sense to themselves. And for Shayle it wasn't hard to spot the elf. She was sitting at the bar with the halfling. If Shayle heard rightly, the elf was named Vivian and the halfling Parum.

"Well, suppose that's expected really... No surprise that your elf managed to get herself intro trouble. What she do? Con a noble of his coin? Tricked a young lad into taking a sword to the gut fer her? Or are ya lot just on the run? Ain't like you lot of dressed like farmers. If you ain't in trouble, I'd guess yer be adventurers. Where ya going? Only place of interest round these parts is some ruin that got dug up recently. Don't suppose you're heading that way?" Shayle said as she emptied her pint again. At this point the dwarf made things easier for the barmaid and just sat next to the keg, tossing ten gold pieces so she could refill at her own pace. If Shayle wasn't interested in actually talking, she'd just drink straight from the barrel. Both the ale and the keg were light enough.

Vivian

Vivian brought her glass down and looked to the dwarf. The foolish drunk did not know what she was talking about. She was about the voice her response to her little claims but felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned to see Alwxander shaking his head. He then turned to the dwarf and glared at her.

"Quiet your tongue dwarf, you speak of matters you don't comprehend. I would appreciate it if you did not talk ill of the very comrad that kept alive through our last encounter. The bard helped out a lot but if it where not for her getting in the way of my enemy there would not have been left for Veridis to save." He responded. The dwarf would never understand what it was like to be hunted by your own kin. He had every nerve to get up and punch the dwarf in the face. However, his resolve kept him from doing so.

Vivian looked to Alexander and then to the dwarf then back to Alexander. "Don't bother yourself Alex, I was just about to retire to my room anyways." She said as she rose from her seat. She did not enjoy the company of this dwarf. She looked to Elleonora and smirked. "Oh but sharing your bed would be rather inviting." She said teasingly. She did like the idea of a little company. Who ever it was,... even if it was Parum. She could loosen the stress and tell the who her visitor was. Parum most certainly could use the information. If only Parum knew drow sign language. She sighed and began her trek up the steps and into her room. Fordes, Alexander's dire wolf, still asleep. She smiled as she moved to the bed. Her scythe still in it's spot. She smiled and removed the necklace and transformed back into the drow. She then reached over and unhooked the strap that kept her rather revealing clothing from falling to the floor. To which they did as soon as it wasn't holding them in place. She was completely naked. She climbed into the bed and proceeded to fall into the long awaited sleep.....

....Alexander watched as Vivian climbed the steps the thought of sleep began to creep over him and he recalled Elleonara's suggestion for them to share rooms. He rose a brow noticing that most of the party was female and there were only three males. Meaning someone was partnering with a female and well... That might be awkward. Especially if the certain female slept naked. He sighed and figured he would just go to his room. It was best to not think of it for too long. He rose up and finished his mead and looked to Elleonara and the others. "I think I will also crash for the night. I want to be ready for the Gnolls at the temple as well as any others that might not want to share."

Catarina La'Spada

Catarina stood up and walked over to Shayle, cracking her knuckles. She got it; dwarves didn't like elves. That was fine with her, and Catarina normally didn't care about other people's racism. She sure wasn't in any position to act all high and mighty about it. However what made things different was that Vivian was Catarina's friend, and she wasn't going to let Shayle mouth off. "Because you brought me a drink, I forgive you. But for for insulting my friend, you've earned yourself a beating." Catarina lunged at Shayle, throwing a right hook towards the dwarf's face.

Parum

Things quickly escalated after the dwarf started talking. Vivian chose to go back to bed, Alexander seemed to be done for tonight as well, but Catarina had some words to say to the dwarf. Violent words. Still, no weapons had been drawn so this wasn't going to be a fight to the death, just a regular old tavern brawl. Which was fine for the halfling; you didn't go out for a night in the pub without getting into a fight fist fights. Besides she felt this night was getting just a touch too boring for her taste. Looking over at Veridis, Parum stood on the bar counter and shouted to him. "Hey Veridis! Play something more exciting!"

Elleonora Alnara

“Now, now... don't get that angry at our drinking partner.” Elleonora said with a smile as her companion seemed to get really irritated at the dwarven woman's treatment of Vivian. Not that the cleric didn't understand the other's point of view, but holding an opinion and voicing it out loud without knowing the situation were different things.”Everyone has the right of an opinion, but next time don't throw in accusations such as these, Shayle. At least not without being more informed.” The cleric smiled, drinking from her cup of alcohol.

As Alex excused himself for the night and Catarina deciding to start a brawl with the dwarf, Elleonora sighed and shook her head. Bar brawls were a good thing every now and then, but it was not her thing." Well have fun with that. I will be excusing myself for the night also."

After a little, she excused herself and headed for the rooms too. She opened the door to Alexander's room extremely carefully and slipped inside. Her warhammer gently being leaned on the wall without as much as a clack from putting it on the ground. Afterwards she pulled the few strings that held the linen dress's top together and the somewhat hard cloth, slipped from her body, crumbling on the floor as she walked over to his bed and slipped inside. Originally she wondered if she she'd head to Vivian's room, but frankly it was better to leave that to Catarina. After all the blond warrior just went into a brawl for the elf.

Kalista Neles Ka Valesti

“Aghh....” Kalista groaned in pain as she heard someone knock on the door.' Great.... just what I needed.' She thought, managing to bring herself to sitting position, leaning her back on the door. Somewhat heavily breathing and gasping for air from moment to moment.

“I'm fine... aghh..” She tried saying, but was interrupted by a sudden pain.” It... will pass in a little while. Just leave me alone...” She added, taking deep breaths, holding onto her grimoire. The fits were getting more frequent as of late. If she didn't get paid from this job, she'd be in a tight spot. How did she ever get herself in this situation...

Veridis Quo

Veridis was debating going to sleep for the night when he turn a loud crash behind him. Looked like Catarina got into the fight with the dwarf. Walking over Veridis wanted to try and defuse the situation, however before he arrived it looked like the tavern owners... Cleared an area for the two brawlers. Suddenly the tavern floor looked like a fight pit. Seemed like this tavern was no stranger to fights. As long as no weapons were drawn, Veridis could accommodate. "Summon Instrument!" Putting his lute away Veridis cleared his throat, and simultaneously began to sing and play a song for this brawl. "Let's have a clean fight here ladies. No weapons, or else this fight is going to be shut down!" That is to say, Veridis had a sleep spell ready to cast should things get out of hand. He probably should have started with it, but he understood the need to let these two girls talk it out.

..... The owner of the tavern and those that worked there watched the fight rage on as each traded blows. Not even the guards who where present stepped in. They were prepared to if the fight escalated any further then fists though. Luckily this night did not come to that. As the fight neared its end people who where there began to lose interest and leave the tavern to their respected homes. Wenches went back to their duties of cleaning the tables and mopping. The barkeep returned to cleaning the glasses and making sure all the gold the tavern earned was tucked away in the chest. Once the fight was over it was time for him to pick up what chairs where broken or stools. He simply added them to the fire. It was much better then just throwing the wood out. Once more the tavern became quiet once more. The guards had left to return to their duties outside while the workers at the tavern went to their own rooms...

..... As time past and the characters went to their respected rooms, partnered with someone or not, the stars began to fade as night turned to day and it was once more time for them to wake up and head for the temple. This time they did not have to head very far from the ruins. The town was nothing more then five miles from the little village. They would have to keep in mind that they may not be the only ones there at the ancient temple. With some luck,... maybe a few of the traps were already triggered.

Alexander

....Alex was the first to wake up. Before he went to bed the night before he had remove a good deal of his armor. He laid in the bed with his tunic and pants on. Minus the boots he was still pretty well clothed. He didn't want to take too much time with preparing to embark. As his eyes opened he stretched and let his hand fall to his side only to feel his palm feel hair. He knew it wasn't his because as he did so he picked up a very familiar scent and his head slowly turned to its side. He was greeted with a very asleep Elle. His blue eyes widened in shock and he rose up quickly from where he laid and moved the covers to discover that she was naked. He gulped and looked away and scratched his head. He recalled he only had one drink of mead and that was it. It was not enough to get so drunk that he couldn't remember what happened... yet here he sat in bed sharing it with a naked woman. Not that it was a bad thing or anything just that he would have liked to recall it. He looked back to her and sighed. Perhaps nothing happened.... for one he still had his pants on. At least he hoped that was the case. He slid out of the bed and looked down to his boots. He crouched and began to put them on hoping not to wake her.
Once they where on he continued to move. Sneaking was a lot hard now do to his boots, they where not exactly made for moving quietly. With that he began to put on his armor one piece at a time. His mind flooded with what just happened.

He looked over to Elle and just shrugged. Perhaps after this whole ordeal is over he would revisit this moment. "Wake up sleeping beauty. It's about time for us to take a crack at that temple." He said.

Vivian

Vivian felt the rays of the sun shine through her window as day broke. Immediately she squinted and began to feel the effects as she opened them. The room was spinning a little bit from the reaction. She rose slowly and steadily not even caring that the coverings fell to reveal her naked chest. She spotted Fordes right away still sleeping in his corner. She smiled slightly as she looked towards the window. It was another day on the surface. This time she was going to eventually get away from the suns rays thanks to the temple. It shouldn't be too far away now. She then remembered what her sister said about her kin possibly being within the temple.
