That's fine - my vague plan for handling this was to encourage people to drag one another into their day-to-day routine and, those that were left, well, I'd do something with them, likely involving the Ship AI. I don't want anyone left twiddling their thumbs if I can help it!

I can finish anytime. Once you get that shadow chamber your pretty much set. Coil weapons can easily twoshot Avatars.

That was super easy. Just render some corpses. Lasers up in the first month easy. You might need a faceless corpse though. If you want some tips I can give ya them, but once you know what to do it gets kinda easy.

rendering corpses requires corpse looting missions, got unlucky with the mission drops so only one patrol intercept so far.

You get corpses from your first mission to render no problem. If you know how to get a faceless corpse thats your elerium. you can also render an elerium core after hybrid materials which helps.

You'll be stuck on rifles for a good while though, but Shotties are pretty good earlygame, Snipers too, and Gunners get Hail of Bullets so you know they have guaranteed damage when you need it.

Once you get your Rangers up though, they become your powerhouses. I have a ranger who constantly hits 40% shots. so much so that I'm surprised when he misses. Also got an assault that hits for 32+ And thats just with the coil shotty, plasma will hit even harder... xD

I've not fully caught up with Season 8 yet! I think they've said that they're going to do a Season 9, and that'll be the end. As long as there's at least one more BMO-centric episode before the end, I'll be happy.

Oh, and I've yet to play XCOM 2 either. Though it is in this month's humbly monthly thingy magjiggy, so I've really got no excuse now for not playing it.

Sorry but I still don't quite get it @Hylozoist. Do we describe the rooms ourselves the way @Valor did or will they be described to us by the GM? I'm totally fine with whatever you decide, as long as we get that trip to space IKEA you promised. I hope their Swedish meatballs are better than the ones we have here on Earth.

Broadly speaking, I imagined that there'd be some folks who'd want their room to be designed by them (especially those characters that have been on the ship for a while, as chances are good that their characters will have customised the room to their liking over time) and some that would rather I did it (which could be good for characters just moving in to the ship).

Either option is fine, on the proviso that you let me know if you want the latter, so I can actually write it up and hand it over to you!

I'm a little bit zombified today, as yesterday was pretty tiring. "Let's go out to this bakery after lunch," I said, "they make really good chiffon pandan cake, it's in Chinatown!" I completely forgot that it was the Chinese New Year celebrations yesterday. What should have been a fifteen minute stroll to a bakery turned into an hour long struggle. Still, got to see people celebrating, which was neat.

Okay, managed to throw the post up in a reasonable time for @TwelveOf8, hooray for breakfast and tea.

To everyone, a reminder: I am happy doing this sort of thing, so if you would like me to describe a room for your character, or anything else, let me know and I'll work on it. Sometimes it's nice to write your own to make it just the way you want, but perhaps you want a bit of outside input.

On the other rooms, such as the more communal areas, I'll get writing a fairly basic outline for them that can be filled in as required by the characters using them. Hopefully I can find a balance between "putting in enough stuff to give people a sense of what's going on" and "leaving it open enough for people to put their own spin on it". Today (Monday) is fairly quiet for me, as it's mostly juggling things in an oven and putting cakes in boxes, so I'll be about during the day to check on the site.

It was enjoyable, just rather unexpected! I still got cake though, so that's fine. Plus, it was one of those things that made me go "you know, London's not so bad sometimes", turning the corner into Gerrard Street and just seeing this huge crowd, all the lanterns strung up, music and celebrations going on, it was a little surreal. I know very little about Chinese culture, so it was difficult to follow exactly what was happening for the most part - there was a dragon, it was going from shop to shop, eating what looked like napa cabbage offered by each shop, and then spewing it back out and going to the next shop.

You are amazing @Hylozoist! Thank you so much! I know it can be tough to be a GM but it really shows when a GM gives a damn. I understand your point about the game Microscope but I thought that the SS Quest for Flavour should be very must mostly the GMs creation. It is our flagship after all. The vessel that will bear our hopes and dreams into the future. Thanks again! You really didn't have to, but I'm glad you did.

I've always wanted to go to London myself. It seems London has more culture in one square block than the entirety of my country of Australia.

Just a reminder that I was planning to do some not-quite-slice-of-life stuff prior to the adventure in Ofromia; I would dearly love it if folks sought out other folks to interact with, but I shall try to provide some "stuff going on" as it pops into my head, or if it looks like it's needed.

I'm more than happy to provide you with things to do, but sometimes I need a (really gentle) reminder about it, and I don't want to throw things at you if you don't want things thrown at you.
