[OOC] Game of Thrones : The Pact of Ice and Fire (Always Open)

Probably more likely for Aerion to know that the sellsword captain you served with was a dirtbag ((Most are, Bloodbeard, Vargo Hoat, Dario, etc etc. Most companies seem to be led by not so nice folk)). Also, could have fought alongside one another in one of the many military crackdowns/suppression campaigns in the Stepstones. Just seeing what you like the most.

Working on my House sheet now... Just not quite sure if i could speak for Mathis Rowan or not. I am just going to go with that i am going to be playing the next generation of Rowan family. So Mathis Sons... Not sure if i want him to have a sister or not..

Well, Ser Aerion certainly isn't one to spread rumors. If anything, if asked, he would simply compliment Seran's work ethic and his skilled, yet unrefined combat abilities, and that of Lysara's beauty, her skill with needlework, medical knowledge, and her singing voice. Nothing defamatory, just kind words to help your own reputation.

@Abefroeman Most of the wildlings settled in the New Gift, and many of the rest were killed by the Walkers before they crossed the wall, but after the war, some hardliners still remained beyond the wall and many others decided to return to their lands rather than live with the "southerners". So there are some, but most of the prominent chieftains took their people south.

There are whispers that there are ghouls and other beasts prowling BTW now.

@TheShadow Matthis wasn't young in the main series, he is most likely dead by now.

The house sheet doesn't have to be a comprehensive list of every second cousin or what not, just the family members who will be important to the plot.

Having believed in the Queens words of peace for Westeros, They will do whatever it takes to keep peace, All the while promoting the idea that the Reach needs to be great again although they will not say that outright. The Sons and Daughters of the Rowan family are numerous and all work towards the the house words “ Loyalty to The Reach Above all Else “

Biography: Arron was the eldest son of Mathis Rowan and his wife Bethany, For the first 25 years of his life he grew up in Golden Grove and learned to be diplomatic as he watched his well liked father interact with other vassals. His father sent him away when things became heated, While away from his father he learned to become a master seducer when he stayed at a inn which was really a brothel and from there he learned to seduce woman and sleep with them. He later returned to Goldengrove when he was 35 years old and his father was on his deathbed to make amends before his death and funeral. Now he as head of House Rowan must continue the legacy of his father, Being loyal to their Liege Lord and the iron throne. All the while plotting to one day make the reach great again.

Appearance: Tall with a black beard, black hair unclean and tattoos on his arm and leg which show the house coat of arms

Biography: Known as Thaddeus the Mad because of the acts that he had committed, He is the second son of Mathias and Bethany, At the age of 10 he went to a village and burned it to the ground all the while dancing and speaking in tongues, He was imprisoned for a number of years and only freed when the guards felt he was making the other prisoners act up. After freed his father sent him to the citadel but that seem to work and he was kicked out of that place as well. His father later told him to train with the other soldiers and commanders in hopes he would be killed, But instead he learned quite well how to wield a sword and battle tactics. He was able to prove his worth in battle when he won a battle against some Rebels and charged head first into them without the rest of the army earning the nickname the Mad another way.

Age 25
Appearance: He takes his looks from his grandfather stout and florid and clean-shaven
Role: Diplomat of house Rowan
Equipment : Only a sword for protection and some cheap mal armor.
Biography : Named after his grandfather, He is the son of Arron and his wife Sasha. Mathis was born during what his family called the golden age of peace and prosperity. Having been born during peace he was able to travel around the reach meeting the lords and ladies and making trade agreements with some of the houses of the reach. He was trained in combat but only the basics and he firmly believes in his father's dream of seeing the reach prosper and to make it great again. He has learned much from his father and uncle and studied the history of his grandfather.

@MrDidact I was thinking something along the lines of a glory hound type of antagonist. A battle hardened man who seeks to earn favor in the eyes of the dark old gods. Blood sacrifice, slave raids, power consolidation. A true free folk who wants to create a true and lasting fiefdom. Think of something along the lines of vikings ragnar lothebrook. Or other famous raiding badguys.

@TheShadow You have a decent base, but I feel you really need to go into a lot more detail in the sheet. What does it mean for them to make the Reach great again? Why did Arron fall out with his father? When did he leave? What did he do besides chat up wenches? How long before he came home? As for Thaddeus, his backstory makes little sense. I have a hard time imagining a ten year old could do that, or that he wouldn't have been immediately shipped off to the Night's Watch. And apparently his insanity is so uneven that he could function as a battle commander for a noble family? I need a lot more for all the characters when it comes to history, personality, motivation, and relationships with each other.

@Abefroeman Well you can certainly bring him up as a villainous NPC or even an antagonist PC if you want. But if he's a PC keep in mind that it won't exactly be easy to basically take on the whole south by himself.

@bloonewb If you want, I can allow you to edit William into being in the thick of things.

@MrDidact I would, with your permission of course and oversight, create a character that is a quasi NPC/PC, controlled by me and by extension, you, through post review, direct control via yourself, and any applicable guidelines. As for taking on the South, that is not exactly what he is trying to do, but rather, build a sizable sphere of influence beyond the wall. Have him starting off with a sizable tribe compared to those about him who still remain, but focusing mainly on raiding and subjugating other tribes/clans in the area, with different types of raids to the South from time to time. I will make a rough draft of sorts when I get home from work, to let you look it over and mull it over.
