...and I hate that I have to be one of them, but looking at my offline schedule over the next few weeks and tallying the number of other commitments I'm already juggling, I'm going to have to pump the brakes here and bow out for the time being. =/ Was looking forward to this, apologies, I probably should have thought before offering, but it just looked SO DAMN FUN.

I WILL, however, keep working on my character sheet in the hopes I can jump in at a later date. Perhaps a passenger role? Or something less crucial to the day-to-day? I'll think on it. :)

In the meantime, I'll be watching and reading and fangirling from afar! <3

Biography: Born the second son of a long time Alliance loyalist government official on Albion Wyn was expected to take on a position within the Alliance military while his older brother remained at home to be groomed for his father's position. Shortly before the war with the independents Winston signed on with the Alliance. Leveraging his father's position Winston was fast tracked to a position within the Alliance Officer academy. Following a brief stint in communications for the Alliance, Winston’s talents proved that he belonged elsewhere.

After being transferred to the Alliance Special Operations Academy on Osiris Winston was quickly sent back to the front as part of a special operations team which saw action everywhere from Boros to Verbena. Winston’s group of operators was designated a problem solving task force and operated on request from the local front commanders or on direct orders from Alliance High Command.

With the conclusion of the war Winston quickly put in for his final pay out and discharge from the ASO even though with the conclusion of the war the ASO became an independently functioning branch of the Alliance Military. Shortly thereafter the originally Major Wyn became Captain Wyn with his purchase of a Lakota class space transport which he christened Hathor.

Recent events:
Winston had a falling out with his father about six months ago and as a result is almost completely separated from his family. It's assumed that the fight was the result of something to do with Wyn leaving the ASO.[indent]

Likes

• Wyn spends a decent amount of time working out and keeping his skills sharp. It's largely a habit held over from the time with ASO but it keeps Wyn sane. Everyone can tell when he has missed his morning routine because he turns in a ln abrasive ass.
• Literature. Particularly writings from earth that was and in a variety of languages though new age works of fiction and history hold his attention periodically. Most of the wall space in his quarters is taken up by book shelves.
• Cooking. Of all of Wyn’s penchants cooking is one of the particularly useful ones. His crew and before them his squad with the ASO benefitted with it.

Dislikes

• Alliance Brass. While Wyn has no quarrel with the Alliance per se however; his opinion of the officials who were giving him orders during the war is not high
• Feds. Another unusual dislike given that Wyn is still in relatively good favor with the ASO. Captain Wyn’s problem with Feds is there need to only enforce laws that are favorable to them or are only for the good of the rich and connected.
• Gambling. Wyn hates bets and playing the odds since the vast majority of his life has been nothing but calculation. This dislike is also rumored to stem from Wyn abominable luck at any sort of game of chance.

• Stoic, have you ever been shot? The ability to keep going is what Wyn has in spades

Distinguishable features:Doc is tall and for some reason unnaturally healthy; No one’s ever seen her sick and she gets by on 4-5 hours a day. She eats feast to famine and has no effect from it swearing it’s because she sets foot on the nasty ground as little as possible.

Her choice of clothing is always brief sometimes only boxers and a sports bra

Karen White was born aboard a Liner named the Legend of Mercy which was run by a crew consortium of which both her parents were members and it is for that reason she always answers that she doesn’t have a home world just a home. Raised aboard a ship she could have become a pilot, engineer or purser but instead she formed a friendship with the ship’s Doctor and became his Helper because he couldn’t refer to her as a nurse because she had no formal schooling. She would have thrived and perhaps even been sent to school at one of the big medical tech schools if the war hadn’t broken out and while on Athena the Purple Bellies killed because he had been treating the wounds of two men while hostage to their friends. (I can’t see more than that being known about this event in her life unless people ask)

It was Doctor Wilson’s death that turned Karen into a Browncoat because she had been there as well and watched the whole thing. She had traveled out to a recruiting station she’d caught wind of and offered herself up as an Infantryman but the recruiters asked her a few questions about her skills and what she’d been up to till she fell on their lap and when they discovered that she was a medical helper they immediately sent her to a sort of school that trained combat medics. Naturally the absurd nature of the Verse decided they were taking too long and shortened the training by throwing several nasty battles at the Browncoat forces that chewed up the previous graduates quickly because the Purple Bellies had targeted them almost as much as the had anyone in command. The initial rush of students for this profession quickly trickled off due to the two factors of most Medics having very short lifespans and the caliber of troop intelligence declining because the smart people had already decided to lay low and just hope to survive the war as a neutral.

Karen was forced into more and more technical roles because of a rapidly growing shortage of trained doctors to do the job till eventually she was the closest thing her unit had to a Doc and they were grateful to have her. Even lacking any formal schooling Karen was known to keep most of her patient's breathing if they still had most of their parts and even if they didn’t. (This is all anyone really knows about her service because she doesn’t speak of it to anyone or maintain contact with anyone she may have served with)

Karen was one of the lucky ones when the war ended because she was still breathing and as a primary medic considered no threat to the Alliance who never even took her into the holding camps that they took the others into basically throwing her out on the street with nowhere to go.

Like all those others who’d been on the wrong side she was forced to do whatever was required to survive and had to resort to becoming a Quack Doc who practiced medicine on people that couldn’t afford a real doctor

• Doc loves to keep in shape by doing dances in her medbay that people pay good money to see in most ports and she has been known to do exotic dancing to make some spare if the money is right
• Doc collects all sorts of books on medicine and reads them as if they were romance novels ( Curled up on the gurney in panties a T-shirt and smoking something
• She never talks about the war, about the people she knew, where she was or if she ever saw action
• She will holster a handgun and can if needed use it but she never practices though she has never show either an interest or aversion to weapons.

Dislikes

• Prudes, Dudes, Rudes; you know the animals of society
• She hates rain; says she’d only live in a desert where water minded it’s business and stayed on the ground
• People who want to exalt the war

• No sense of Decency; Doc thinks people worry too much about what a person is wearing or not wearing. Of course she doesn’t run around exposing her naughty bits.
