James was sitting in the center of the room, alone standing there typing into a computer, when suddenly farmamones filled the room. He looked up a smile creeping on to his face, he said “Hello, im sure you're wondering why you're all here, all i can tell you is… Life as it was has changed. In order to save you all from pharmaceutical genocide Doctor Anima put all of us in a stasis for two years locked away in this facility. As far as i can tell the outside world doesn't even know this bunker is here. Oh i almost forgot… My names James Dowley. I was head of design on Anima’s team.” He then picked up a small remote and clicked a button at the ceiling, “You see the world out there is killing itself, and we are the only ones able to stop it…” A small ladder fell from the ceiling, and James pointed at it. “If you would like to leave and join the rest of the slaves walking the surface of the earth, you may be my guest, but…” He said looking back at the people standing in the now crowded room. “Of course if you would like to stay here and help me it would be most appreciated, i wont make any of you stay here.” He grabbed his notebook from the top of the computer he was at leaving the small receptionist area he usually came to work when he thought they would wake up, today had not been one of those days.

James had come to check the pressurization of the zero G chamber at the very bottom of the bunker, and rather than walking 30 flights down, he simply went on the computer. James began walking to the stairs and motioned for them to follow. “You each will have your own room on a floor. If you do not like your room or your neighbors there are 869 rooms in this facility, im sure one of them will suit your needs. To be honest.” He chuckled. “I've never even been in every room… so if you’d like to find out who you were, well i suppose you could look around for a while, though I will only warn you once about Testing room 13, I cannot guarantee your safety there.” They walked down two flights of stairs and entered floor 3. “This down to floor 15 is where you will be staying, each apartment is equipped with all you need, breakfast is at 9, training is at 11…” Then he walked to the clipboard on the closest wall and handed it to the group.

He saw the looks on their faces, the questioning in their eyes the same things he had felt when he himself had first woken up. “If you have any questions before we start I will be back up on floor two the door we passed on the way here. Also there are about 28 rooms give or take on on each floor, so there are about 262 rooms that you can pick from, and to put it simply… Im not sure who all of you are… but I know you're my responsibility now, i look so forward to working together.” James closed the door before anyone could say anything and walked back to his quarters on floor two. He closed the door to his room and pressed his back against it, and felt the weight of his task. It had been a long time since he had cried like this… A very long time...

Quinn, dazed, watched the scarred man retreat back up the stairs to the floor they had come down from. He felt sick: slightly nauseous, and had a headache that turned the world into a blur of pain. He glanced around the room and noticed a chair near one of the walls. He stumbled over and let his head sink into his hands. He massaged his temples and took deep breaths. The pressure slowly started to lift.

He looked up and around at the people in the room with him. He could tell there was something different about them all. Himself too. But what? Everything before today was an empty void - he knew he had lived a life before this, he just didn't know what kind of life. Had he been a good sort of person?

Maybe he could find some answers. Quinn looked down at what he was wearing. A white pullover sweater, with black pants and polished brown shoes. He had a white lab coat on, with a nametag. He pulled it off his front pocket and held it up to the light to read. "Quinn Forester. Intern - Experimental Biology, Somdium Corp. Age: 22. Sex: Male. Hair: Brown. Eyes: Hazel." Looking at his watch, he was surprised to see it frozen. The year is what caught his eye. 2030. The digital clock on the wall read 2032. Quinn frowned and looked back and forth between the two times. It couldn't be. Two years doesn't just disappear.

The headache came raging back. "What the hell?" he mumbled to himself. Then he noticed what felt like a small cardboard box in his front pocket. He pulled it out. The box read "Parliament." His headache pulsed again Guess, I was... a smoker then. He flicked open the top of the box, to find a few stale and crumbling cigarettes. He closed the box, slipping it back into his pocket. He would keep it. He'd keep everything from... before.

Quinn turned his attention back to the room. "Hey, ah, I hate to be that guy, but, anybody got a smoke? Sorry... my head's killing me."

"You're not the only one with a headache, mate" Kaiden responded to Quinn from across the room. He was slouched against the wall sitting with his knees up and apart, arms resting on his knees, head hanging for a moment. His face was concealed by his thick dark hair, until he raised his head, setting his blue eyes on Quinn with a narrowed glare, half formed out of discomfort and half out of frustration.

Kaiden slowly lifted himself up off of the floor, staggering back a step and resting his back against the wall as he regained his balance. His head was spinning slightly and his vision was a bit distorted, although he could see the clarity slowly returning. He was drugged. It didn't take a genius to know what had happened to him. But everything else was a mystery at this point. He had been vaguely awake, listening to James make his announcement to the room. He couldn't believe the world had gone so far as to bring destruction on itself at such a rapid pace. He hadn't fathom experiencing this moment in his lifetime. He could not remember anything beyond waking up in this crowded room. He decided to look around to find more information as to where he was and what he was to do. Although James made it clear they were here together to put the world back together again...somehow.

Looking down, Kaiden saw his hand had a wristband around it. It showed his personal information including name, age, height, weight and blood type. He then noticed the white sleeve and came to see he was wearing a white lab coat over dark jeans and a fitted black shirt. He worked here apparently. Perhaps he had been working here before they had been put in a 2 year stasis.

2 years. He couldn't believe he had been out for 2 years. When he saw James reach to touch the back of his neck, he curiously followed suite and ran his hand up along the back of his neck until he felt the thick band of skin folded in a straight line up his neck, a deep scar. He couldn't recall why he would choose to be here but obviously outside would be much worse at this moment. Kaiden just couldn't understand why he had been chosen to help. He was fit but no large physical threat, could not recall any martial, firearm or even technical skills. Why was he here? How could he possibly help?

Kaiden looked around the room to the others, some waking, some already awake and moving to explore the area. Kaiden's eyes fell back to Quinn, the smoker. He stuck his hands in his pockets looking for anything of his own to spark his memory of before. All he found was a safety pin, a small blade, some change, and a clip wallet. In it was no ID but some money, what looked like an old key card and a laminated photo of an older woman, perhaps in her 50's. He stared at the woman and her soft smile, unsure who she was or why she was in his pocket. He put the picture back in the clip and stuffed it in to his jeans again. He would care about it later.

Taking a deep breath Kaiden carefully walked forward. The more he moved, the faster he seemed to recover from whatever drug he was put under.
