Moe yawned, settling down further amongst the pillows and blankets of the library window seat, situated on the second floor of her house. Her eyes had drifted from the heavy tome in her hands to the streets and waters below her. Gaze drifting from face to face, the girl made a plethora of theories about the person's lifestyle, their back story. Of course she had no hard evidence or deduction skills, she just enjoyed the casual story creation it gave her. Her attention was quickly grabbed by a blaring beep, coming from Moe's leather banded wristwatch. Sighing, she clicked a button to stop the noise. Placing a bookmark in the book and untangling herself from the nest of linens in the window, Moe moved up a floor to pull a jacket on, headed back down to the sidewalk. More often than not, Moe forgot to or didn't feel like eating, so she would often go days at a time without consuming more than a few light snacks. She had been found more than once in a terribly sick state because of this, and so she now had to have a timer on her watch, set to go off everyday at supper hour to remind her that eating was a bodily function she needed to perform to stay alive. Moving across a bridge, Moe glanced up at the sky, turning red from the setting sun. It was still well above the horizon, but still nearing the line. Words automatically began to form in the empty spaces of her thoughts, stories of objects and people around her as she passed by, headed to a specific cafe. The tiny, one room restaurant served drinks, desserts and sandwiches, but in lieu of money, accepted stories as payment. The couple running the cafe were a strange race, feeding on the essence of the words as sustenance. It wasn't a busy place, but it usually had one customer throughout the day, all regulars. Moe went on a near daily basis, but before she could make it safely inside the cozy restaurant, someone stopped her.
"I can not believe it." A frog person approached her, arms wide. "Moe! I haven't seen you since you were but a tadpole! Your mother and I went to college together."
"Eh, yep. Hello." Moe shifted her eyes side to side, looking more at her surroundings than at the person talking to her. It was common for her to do this, she hated eye contact. The girl didn't enjoy interactions with others in general, especially surprise ones like this.
"Hey, your mother said recently in a letter that you're a huge reader. Have you read Hannah whats-her-name's stuff? Amazing! That woman pumps out books like a rabbit does offspring. The baffling part is how gripping each one is. You'd think we'd get bored of her! But no! Enthralls me every time."
"Yes, yeah. I've... Read it all." Moe told no one she knew personally her pen name, even her parents, with the exception of the cafe people, as They figured it out themselves after a steady month of her buisness. As far as her parents were concerned, Moe was writing little articles for magazines and newspapers, and thats how she supported herself.
"Look, its been nice catching up with you, but I was just headed on an errand. Have a nice day." Moe excused herself, hurrying into the crowd to disappear, once again headed off in search of a sandwich.

Demo held up a necklace. She had just finished making it. It was a beautiful thing, with a silver chain and a ruby in the shape of a heart on it. She quickly attached a price tag to it and gave it to her cat, Hydra. She then immediately went to work on a set of wedding rings. Demo worked hard on the rings, as if they were for her. Once done, she ran outside and down the hill, rings in hand. She rarely made an appearance, but Hydra was busy manning the shop, so she had to put the rings on the shop herself. Demo walked over to the jewelry section and put down the rings. She then decided that she should go out for food.

A short boy in a light blue dress stood enjoying one of his favorite views on one of the bridges in the city. The way the light of the sun sparkled on the water was always pretty, especially during sunset. Though he often wanted to paint the peaceful scenes he could see from here at various times of the day, he didn't mind just watching for now. It was a way to pass the time, as he was waiting for Felice to finish up so they could walk back to their apartment together, and it was a very nice way in his opinion. So soothing...

...at least, until the sound of a clock bell interrupted his thoughts.

"Ah! He'll be mad if I'm late! I had better get going!" Quickly, the auburn-haired boy ran off down one of the many sidewalks, not wanting to be scolded again. The number of people walking around at this hour surprised him a bit as he tried hard not to run into any of them. He thought that most people would be having dinner around now. Perhaps they're out enjoying the sunset as well.

"Well, Hoverbot, it looks like we're getting another shipment of platinum today. Even though I told Control five times that its next to useless here and that they should send something more appropriate to this dimension/galaxy/whatever. Like Gold, or silver, or gems. Hell, art sells better than Platinum here." Raymond Skalter paced around the TechroCorp Trading Post, which was little more than a small Warehouse with a corner partitioned off for Raymond's personal space. The robot followed his movements with its primary sensors as soon as it detected its designation spoken. Raymond's exoskeleton's pneumatic servos whined softly with each step he took. He sighed, cradling his forehead in his palm, the sound came out as static. "I'm talking to my robot again. I must be bored. No, not bored, lonely." He sighed again. "Hoverbot." The floating robot perked up again, awaiting orders from it's master. "Process the new shipment of platinum when it arrives, and watch over the shop; if anyone drops by, give the usual pre-recorded away message. I'm going for a walk." The robot gave a confirmatory beep and drifted over towards the Matter Transference Device. Raymond walked out into the streets, grumbling and thinking to himself about the few things he could do with platinum here.

Theo looked at his skeletal golden arm as it caught the light of the sun and smiled to himself as he admired his handy work. It was a work of art to anyone that could looked upon it as it was made out of solid gold and was inscribed with magical runes that replaced the tendons so that the arm could function without cabling or wires which was the same technique that was used in all of his golems as well though he never used gold on them except for their power cores. After he was done admiring his arm, he clapped his hands together and looked around the open air market place where merchants were selling their goods just like he was. His workshop doubled as a second shop, but most of his business came from selling his chemical ointments and mechanical items that would make anyone's life simpler.
"Alright fellas, time to pack up the goods." He told the two large golems that he used as his manual labor who started to pack up all the product into large boxes before than carrying them the the boat that was tied the the canal side next to the market place. "When you two are done packing up here take the boat back to the shop and unload the boat." The golems nodded to him before getting back to work which made Theo crack a small smile as he pulled his tinted goggles over his eyes to block out the setting sun. He was of course worried about his golems getting the job done since they were older models and the patch he had made them from still had flaws, but he had faith that he had worked out the problems within them and they could get the work done without a hitch.
Theo decided that he would walk to his workshop and enjoy the setting sun in the city that had given him the opportunity to make a life outside of the traveling caravan. He finally got up from his seat and straightened up his tie and vest before he toward the center of the city where his workshop was located.

Nikhil "Windy" Kareem

Long blue hair billowed out behind a tan figure, the speed at which similarly blue rollerblade wheels spun causing a clatter amongst the stone streets. Windy greeted children heading home with a large smile, waving enthusiastically as they called his name. Turning on his heel, he made his way to a window on the street, the smell of Arom's waters filling his lungs. It was, by now, a familiar smell to Windy, but there were always spots with stronger scents than others.

Raising a slender, tan arm and knocking gently on the window, Windy scooted back and waited patiently, pulling out a small packet and a slip of paper as he waited patiently. The window opened, the face greeting him being that of a woman with six eyes, each one blinking separately. Windy smiled and rolled himself closer, stretching out thin arms and offering the packet and paper, to which the woman squeaked in response. "Oh! Thank you! I thought I would never get it," said the woman, her voice a mix of violin strings being plucked and the clatter of falling pebbles, her sharp teeth crashing against one another. Taking hold of the packet, the woman fussed, "Oh, wait, hold on, let me get you a tip- and I need a pen, too- oh!"

Windy had procured a pen from his knapsack, to which the woman thanked him for as she reached for it. Signing her name, she gave the delivery boy back his pen as well as the bill, rushing inside for a moment before arriving once more and handing a rather hefty tip. "Thank you so much again, you angel," chirped the woman before waving as Windy headed off, skating past darkening skies, street lamps clicking on and illuminating the clear waters. The rattle of wheels against uneven ground was a comforting sound in the slowly emptying streets, stray persons wandering as they headed home, to work, or simply for a walk.

Arriving once more at the florist, Windy was greeted by darkness, his boss no doubt having closed up shop already. He reached out to the bell by the counter and tapped it thrice, in a code that announced his arrival before slipping off the knapsack, the florist's logo embellished brightly on it's side. Resting it over the counter, Windy rang the bell once more, this time only twice, stating that he was heading out. The owner never minded what Windy was up to after work hours, and Windy always enjoyed a night stroll throughout the dark nights of Arom.

As the boy made his way throughout the streets, his eyes wandered the skies, his hand reaching up to undo the ponytail he brandished while working, letting loose a flurry of unruly blue hair. Windy's eyes glanced down in alarm at the hint of movement, turning himself just in time to evade a straggler of a cat. Doing so, however, made him lose his balance, and before he knew it, Windy crashed against a man grumbling about platinum. His mouth opened and closed without sound, a hand rising to rub at his tan nose while the other waved in apology, his golden eyes lifting to the hooded man and trying to explain that it was all an accident in a matter of sign language.
Jonah Ramuels

"Thank you, thank you so much, Jonah, sir," said a one-eyed girl, her sentence choked between tears. As the blonde potion-maker observed her, he couldn't help but wonder exactly how so much liquid could come out of one eye. She continued to blubber on, thick, yellow painted fingers clinging to a vial and holding it close to her chest as she weeped.

Jonah knew exactly how to respond to situations such as so, reaching a long arm and petting the cyclops girl on her head. "It's alright," he said, in his sickeningly gentle voice, his yellow eyes glittering under the artificial light, "Just be sure he doesn't see you until next week. You'll have the money by then, right?"
"I'll have to money even sooner, if you want," sniffled the girl, whose tears only continued to pour at the potions master's gentle touch. Again, she repeated, "Thank you, thank you-"
"Right well," said Jonah, cutting her off, "It's getting late. You should get going then now, alright?" To which the one eyed girl nodded, rising from her seat as she continued to cry and thanking him before heading out the door, using her shirt to wipe at the waterfall that was her face.

The blonde haired man sighed as he sank into his seat, his head leaning back, hands rising to wipe at his exhausted face. It was one of his more popular potions that the girl wanted, one involving turning themselves into their ideal idea of beauty. It was second only to an actual love potion, though from what Jonah gathered, attractiveness was more for acceptance and popularity rather than straight up love. "Kai!" he called, his right hand rubbing at his temple, "Do me a favour and head out?" = "Find me a person to sleep with tonight."

He slowly pulled himself up to a walk, heading to the door first and lock it before starting towards the rest of the house. His backdoor entrance was usually what he used when tending to customers, set up almost shop-like if not for stray pieces of cloth here and there. At first Jonah cared about cleanliness and care, but after his name on a bottle was official enough for people to believe that he was legit, he stopped keeping up appearances. In fact, contrary to him going to them, they started to come to him. There was a feeling in the cursed man's blood that it was somehow a bad idea for business to be so good, but he shook it off to paranoia.

"I'll be heading out for the beauty ingredients," he called out as he rummaged through pile of clothes to search for a coat, "So I can't do it myself. Oh, and while you're at it, maybe grab some dinner along the way? You can pick anything you want."

"i got you this thing. i 'unno what it is."

The girl with really wavy hair, like, really wavy, had shown up out of nowhere, with a necklace. It was a...pretty normal necklace, actually. See, let this post tell you what happened. There was this guy.

And said guy had really short hair, like lots of other guys. He was just minding his own business, sketching in peace. He had this small light to the side of his desk, which was shining oh so perfectly on his little piece of paper. He was drawing with this blue colored pencil, seeming to be making the small lines that you do when you're drawing. Of course, you, the reader, probably can't draw professionally, so you don't know shit about what he was doing. Construction lines? Fuck, it's all the same.

This girl had popped up next to the guy, and dangled this necklace in front of him. It seemed that she had got this as a gift, which is pretty obvious, and it made him almost break the tip of his pencil. He was just making a new character, until this happened.

The girl was Leigh, and the guy was Quin. They were, like, family.

"If you don't, uh, know what it is, why did you get it, exactly?" Quin had said, quite calmly, looking up at the necklace. It was obvious it was a necklace, so Leigh was just-uh- joking.

Leigh had shrugged, dropping the necklace in her brother's lap, "Maybe ish a bra'let, I 'unno."

See, Leigh had her language. Probably made from her sleep deprived thoughts. Most likely, mooost likely. You want to know what it is? You will never know. You'll only find out. Ha.

"It's a necklace."

"Ex'atly, I k-new you 'ould 'ind out!" She exclaimed, walking over to the other side of the room. "An'ee ays, I'm 'unna go out. 'Ant mi ta get 'ake out?" She asked, walking through the apparently opened door.

"You could."

"O'ay!"
Out on the streets of Venice- I mean, Arom, Leigh looked around slightly, before her eyes settled on a restaurant. It looked to be very small, and not too crowded. Quickly running towards it, looking to be barefoot. That was normal, though. Opening this restaurant, feeling the rush of delicous, cold, refreshing air, she smiled.

"Do you, uh, 'ave, um, 'ake-out?"

And they did. And she walked out, incredibly fine, having a french fry in her mouth, just sitting there. Nothing could go wrong TODAY!

Kai was asleep.

At least, as asleep as a doll can be. Her body was completely still, sitting exactly upright on a wooden chair in a certain blonde's kitchen. Her eyes were wide pen but unseeing, their usual brightness nothing more than a faint glimmer, and her hands were crossed neatly on her lap. She looked like, well, and actual doll. When there was nothing to do around the house she would resort to this, a way of lazing around that required no brain activity what so ever. And it was rather effective.

Until he came a callin'.

Kai groaned at the sound of Jonah's calls, and with jerking, clanking movements she rose from the chair and stretched. Her limbs rotated as she attempted to regain a bit of fluid movement and once ready to set out she clambered around the house, heading towards the back door with loud footsteps. The shop was, of course, dirty, but that was Jonah's fault. She'd clean it if there weren't so many people coming in and out everyday. She turned her attention to the rummaging man, throwing one of her pigtails over her shoulder with a defiant 'hmmp'. Jonah always asked her to do such... Gross work. It wasn't that hard, just make friends with a pretty lady, take her home, and he'd do the rest, but she still felt gross for basically picking chicks up off the street. Ah well.

"... Oh, and while you're at it, maybe grab some dinner along the way? You can pick anything you want."

Kai glanced up at Jonah, face showing an expression of pure confusion, and then she tilted her head back and let out a shrill laugh. Her mouth didn't move, but her shoulders hitched and her eyes closed with glee at her master's own stupidity,

"Ha... Ha. Idiot." She wiped an invisible tear from her eye and then pointed to her mouth, "I don't eat, I CAN'T eat. Haven't been able to for a while now, genius." Kai shook her head, shrugging, "I'll go get your plaything and bring you back something to eat, just don't get lost or anything. See ya." She waved a dainty hand and rounded about the bottom floor of the house, exiting through the front door. The familiar neighborhood was nearly silent in the dimming light, and wind caused her light-weight, plain white gown to flutter around her knees. After a moment of appreciating the cool air glow her hair and dress around messily she set off, instantly heading towards the more crowded part of town.

"Are you... Sure you can handle all those bags, lil' miss?"

"Sure I'm sure, thanks mister!" Kai nodded at the cashier, holding on easily to four paper bags full of food Jonah liked and cooking ingredients (plus a few misc, unneeded crap which she had found interesting). She exited the store, and instantly began to feign having issues with the baggage, stumbling around the sidewalk like a crippled child. There were plenty of nice-looking woman around, maybe...

"Oh, miss, do you need help?"

'Peeerfect!'

Kai scooted to a stop, turning slightly to see an elegant, pure-black eyed devil-woman staring at her with obvious worry. Kai felt her eyes upturn with modest happiness, nodding slightly, and the devil moved forward and took two of the bugs, huffing at the sudden weight on her arms,

"This is pretty heavy, I'll help you take it home."

"Really?" The woman blinked when Kai emitted an answer without moving her mouth, but then shrugged and nodded. There were probably much weirder people out in this city. "I'll lead the way, thank you for helping me!" And with that the two walked together, making idle conversation along the way. Once in the neighborhood, Kai went in for the kill,

"Would you like to come in, I'd like to make you some tea as thanks." The woman went silent, as if to consider the offer, and then nodded,

"I'd love too."

"The please," Kai shifted the bags to one hand, opening the door easily. She threw her hand into the house as if to usher the woman in, "make yourself at home. Have a seat on the couch, I'll put these bags down and start the tea." She slammed the door once the woman was inside and scooped up the other bags, vanishing into the kitchen quickly. She placed the bags gently on the counter and got to work on the kettle. Hopefully Jonah would arrive home soon to finish the job, he was good at woo-ing stupid women, but for now she'll act as kind and normal as possible. Well, as normal as one could be while serving a guest some herbal tea infused with a bit of a passion enhancer. The doll sighed and waited for the pot to whistle, growing more and more bored with each second passing.

Demo grabbed some quick take out dinner because, well, I don't know, anti-social-ness, I guess. She then decided that she would take a walk, I mean it was evening, and come on, who doesn't want to get out of the house once in a while. So anyways, Demo was walking down an alley, twirling her sword. She knew it was dangerous, but honestly, she didn't give a fuck. I mean, who would walk through a kinda dark alleyway in the evening, and just happen to run into Demo, who is twirling her sword.

Theo noticed that the shadows were starting to get longer on the ground and it was getting harder to see with his goggles on and decided it would be better if he just let them hang around his neck instead. He dipped into an alley that was a short cut to his house and he didn't really feel like dealing with anyone right now because of the fact that he had a long day at the market place without much success and he was also worried about his product that was still being transported by the blundering twin golems. He was lucky that no one was in the alley and he smiled to himself as he thought that he was home free when he suddenly went around a corner in the next alley and was met by a swinging sword in his face and he barely had enough time to raise his mechanical arm to block the sword which ended up getting caught in the soft gold. Theo picked himself up and got his arm free of the sword which now had a chunk missing from the where his ulna bone would be, he finally got to see who was swinging the sword and saw a demon girl standing in front of him in full armor which wasn't much of a shock to him with the kind of people that he dealt with.
"Hey, why don't you watch where your swinging your sword. You couldn't easily killed me." He told the demon in a raised voice as he examined his arm and moved it around to make sure that everything was still working properly as well as talking a couple sets away from her just encase she decided to take another swing at him.

"Where is that idiot? Did he get lost again?" A boy in a gold-trimmed red vest and black pants grumbled as he waited at his usual meeting place for his younger flatmate. This particular place would be at a plaza featuring a large fountain with a mermaid sculpture, where he could often be found sitting on a bench with his bag slung over his shoulder at this time. Or rather, where he could normally be found about ten minutes prior to this particular time if he wasn't being held up. "He needs to hurry up, or I'll have to go home without him. I only get so much time to eat dinner, and he should know this!" Adjusting his bag so it hung properly from the strap on his shoulder, he crossed his arms and continued waiting, watching the people in the plaza hurry off to their own activities. Hurry up, Kido...

“...get a smelter from HQ, melt the bloody things into weird shapes, sell them as art pieces? Maybe.... I don't know the first bloody thing about art though, so I'll probably end up wasting the platinum and get in trouble.... How would I even get HQ to send me a smelter...?” Raymond's sotto-voce brainstorm was interrupted by someone bumping into him. He automatically muttered, “Sorry,” though after a moment's realization, he was certain he wasn't the one at fault. “Uh, are you alright, young miss?” A pantomime gesture informed him that 'she' was a 'he.' “Umm... young man?” Ray's brow scrunched in surprise and confusion for a moment, then relaxed as he shrugged. “Well, I hope you aren't hurt.” The boy made a gesture that took Ray a second to figure out. “Who me? No, I'm fine.” Ray patted his exoskeleton to show its durability. “I'm more concerned with you, speeding face-first into plasteel plating.” The boy made some more gestures that Raymond took to mean that he was fine. “Tell you what, I'll buy you a treat to make up for your nose running into a metal man, okay?” A nod and a smile and the two were underway.

“You can't speak can you?” Ray asked. The boy shook his head. Ray started making a strange sound with his voicebox. It took the boy a moment to realize from the rhythm that he was laughing. “I can't speak either. Well, not with my real voice. I lost it in an accident, and I had to get an electronic voicebox instead. Either way, I'll be sure to only ask you yes or no questions then; I don't speak sign language and I hate charades. I suck at it.” A silence held until Ray piped up again, “I don't suppose you know anything about platinum sculptures, do you?” He shook his head. “Worth a shot.”

"Yes, because that's completely normal to swing your sword around to entertain yourself." Theo mumbled under his breath as he determined that the wound that was inflicted to his arm was fixable. "Anyway, even though this is a safe city it's not not that normal to see anyone walking around dark empty alleys while it continues to get darker and darker." He commented as he edged a little farther away with his eyes on her sword and his right hand resting on the golden plated gun that hung from a holster on his left side.

Kido was lost. He wasn't sure how he had gotten lost; he had taken that left like he always did after reaching the street with the bookstore, and walked down the street with the cafe that had the cute umbrellas on the outside tables as usual before crossing over to the other side with the antique store...

...So how did he end up in the wrong plaza? This one didn't even have a fountain. After looking around for a moment longer, he sighed and turned around, intending to retrace his steps. "I'm already pretty late...he's going to be so mad at me..." As he walked back up the streets he had just taken, he could already hear the older boy's lecturing in his head, telling him about how important it was to be on time and asking what could have possibly held him up. In his distraction, he didn't notice the girl in front of him until he had almost crashed into her. "Ah! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to..."

"Well I don't normally tend to socialize. People tend to be afraid of me. That does happen when your a demon, you know," Demo told Theo. She needed to get back to her house and feed Hydra. She couldn't waste too much time with this guy.

"It's true that not a lot of people tend to associate with demons, but I am not one of those people as I feel like everyone should be given a chance to. I also deal with your kind sometimes when they come into my shop looking for the best horn polish in town." Theo said with a smile as he tried to be friendly with the person that not two minutes before had tried to decapitate him.

Theo raised an eyebrow when she mentioned that her cat managed the store instead of her and but didn't really think about it as he knew there was weirder stuff in this city. "So your in the jewelry business, I hear that's a pretty lucrative business to get into." He said and almost instantly regreted saying it as his brain had automatically went to the profits that the jewelry business raked in and knew that it was more than his business. "Well, we can't be standing in this alley all night can we know. Remember if you ever need horn polish or even a specially blended chemical mix that will prevent your armor from ever losing its shine that just stop by Golems For You. Oh and the name is Theo Sven by the way." He said as started to walk past the demon on his way back to his workshop.

" My name is Demogorgon. Most people call me Demo," Demo said as she walked back towards her home. Once she got back to her house she prepared some fish. after finishing preparing the fish Demo put it on a plate. Hydra, who was at the shop, gathered up all of the money and made sure to flip over the OPEN sign so that it said CLOSED before making her way up to the house. The black cat began eating the fish that Demo had left for her.
