The great land of Odesh, where any adventurer can start with nothing and gain everything !
You begin your adventure by leaving your homeland and boarding a huge boat called the Saint Christopher

What will you become?
What will you accomplish?
Only you know!

How to fill in your stats

The part in Bold is the category of the skill. You do not add points to these.
On all 24 skills you have 48 skill points to spend.
The amount of points on a stat will effect dice rolls in the use of that stat using the table below
0 = D6-2
1 = D6-1
2 = D6
3 = D6+1
4 = D8
5 = D8+1

The maximum stat points placed on a stat is 5

Races and Classes
Races are stereotypical how they are usually known.
Gnome - A clever race using their brain instead of brawn. Known for engineering skill and smarts.
Dwarf - A race normally keeping to themselves. Known for their thick skin and large muscles despite there small stature.
Elf - Soft and squishy but quick and agile.
Human - The middle ground can pretty much do most things relatively well.
Orc - Strong brutish beasts with more muscle then brain.
Undead - Humans once dead arisen by strange earthly magic. Highly resilient to damage but smell and look pretty bad.

Classes
Classes will effect stats giving a +1 to all stats in a certain category (Shown by placing a star next to the category and putting in the extra points.
Warrior - +1 Strength – Sword and shield. Can be tanky, stabby or both. The melee class.
Ranger- +1 Range – Bow and arrow or crossbow. The ranged class.
Mage-+1 Intelligence - FIREBALL. There are many magical abilities. All can be achieved with the mage as long as the dice are in their favour.
Bard-+1 Diplomacy- Buff up other players with a cheery tune or make the enemy fall asleep. Uses a certain desired instrument.
Hunter –+1 Survival - Like the range the hunter uses ranged weaponry but is much more skilled in survival and bestiary.
Rogue- +1 Stealth - watch your pocket. You can be a thief or a ninja just make sure to be light on your toes.

The dice rolls will come from me and I will describe a scene then you will decide what you want to do and if you need to do a skill roll for the action I will do these and tell you what you got. Telling you what you did within the action

Characters
LordShyGuy = Grommak
Loremaster = Haiaen
Nyan = Lindir
Icicle = Zimnis Mekkasprocket, or Zimmysonmekkasproketitificanster the third, for short
Joegreenbeen = BamGardo Bywater

Does your race affect your abilities in any way or is it for flavor purposes only? I'm thinking of being an elf Wizard or warrior/ranger but if i look at the description for the elf it does not seem to suit the role of a warrior.

The race does not effect stats but it would not be stereotypical meaning some people in the world may mention it.
"You sure you can carry that large sword?" They might say joking to you.
So go for it if you want :)

I see. Okay well I'd also like to know about this magic thing. Since its somewhat free-form-ish combat as I imagine it to be could I like discribe the spell I want to do like for example "I wish for several duplicates of me to appear and surround the theif, all telling him to stand down and drop his weapon." Do you like choose a difficulty or something? Also would I get totally gimped if I chose to like balance melee combat with magic? (Thinking about making a spell-sword of sorts, magus if you will in pathfinder terms)

I would associate a spell with an amount of Mana and a difficulty and so the harder it would be to perform, the more mana and score on the dice you would need.
But yes you can come up with spells on the spot and if they are reasonable I will allow them.
But the more powerful a spell is the worst it will backfire if failed (say if you got a one on the dice)

And if you want to balance melee with magic that would be fine, I find it best to balance most skills anyway.

Okay so then ill go with a Elf Ranger or warrior who knows magic essentially. Now I would like to ask what types of magic would apply to Light or dark? Besides healing and fireballs what would other types of magic be?

And another question how is the regeneration of mana done? How limited is spellcasting?

Combat spells = Dark Magic (Fireball, Ice shard, Lightning bolt, Wind Blast, incinerate, Curse Etc,,)
Defensive, healing, general spells = Light Magic (Illuminate, Shield, Buffs, duplicate Etc..)

If you plan on using magic yet aren't a mage I would suggest having a "magical item" like a ring or pendant that you would store your magical power in.

Resting restores mana, as well as potions and magical places such as special fountains, shrines and churches.

Ooh! So many delicious facts and additions! I will enjoy this story thoroughly upon its commencement.

In any case, here's my freshly edited CS.

As far as trinkets go, would it be okay if Zimnis used his wooden puppets to summon and control conjured things, like golems or the like? And, would it be acceptable if some of his candies restored either health or magic? The staff is aesthetic and, despite the picture, he doesn't wear the funny hat.

That would be fine, you would have to say how man candies you have. I imagine 2 of each type would be reasonable.

Background and such is done now. So now all that remains that is my inventory. I would like to hear any comments on the background and if anything needs changing.

I added in 6 homemade candies, because he is an entertainer, thus he needs a few tasty sweets to give out to children.

In case you have not noticed by now, I enjoy the process of editing my posts too much, thus I would recommend re-reading the last post I made and refreshing the page before responding to it. Sorry if it inconveniences you!
