Very underwhelming, Mosasaur didn't impress me, cast looks bland and without strong characteristics that would appeal to a wide audience other than 'generic little kid', 'woman on a power trip', and 'mid thirties caucasian male lead'. This feels like it'll be the Alien Resurrection of the franchise, but I hope I'm wrong, the CGI just looked so LAME. Little to no animatronics?

I know it's just a trailer but fingers crossed for a good movie, I love the franchise and hope my impressions of it are very, VERY wrong when it comes out.

We have been assured that there will be animatronics in the film. As for the CG, this is just a trailer. Odds are it'll be better in the film.

Then there may be hope yet, but from what we've seen of the cast it's ...really not drawing me in. Anyone else looked at this trailer and thought 'Wow, this character looks interesting!' ?

Wasn't it awesome, Chris Pratt riding a motorcycle with Raptors following him was pretty bad ass.

But all dinosaur WTF-ness aside, I'm not sure this movie will have any of the magic that the first did. Nothing can match the first. Then again, it's probably because realistic Dinosaurs have become more common since the original.

Amen. The first Brachiosaur scene in the first movie made my jaw drop when I was a kid.

No one asked why a raptor didn't leap onto his exposed back and attack him on that motorcycle though? xD

They're trained. I have a theory they imprinted on Pratt's character, like a chicken when it hatches. But, since the raptors in the films are said to be as intelligent as chimps or dolphins, shit will hit the fan.

Wait imprinted? Wouldn't that mean he had to be there during their hatching? I took him as an Ian Malcolm type of person, but I haven't researched hard on this stuff. It would explain just why he's riding so fearlessly and not shitting bricks.

Pratt's character is studying Velociraptors, specifically behavioral research. Odds are the park was planning to use them in shows, kinda like circus tigers and lions on steroids.

The one thing that bothers me about the film is that it seems like no one has learned anything from the previous three films. It feels like in each film, the characters keep trumping the stupidity of the characters of the previous film. Let's build a park with live dinosaurs! Oh, that failed? Let's bring some of them to San Diego! Oh, that was a disaster? Let's try to make a new park back on one of the islands. Oh, that actually worked this time? Let's try making hybrids! Nothing could go wrong here! Although, if they actually did learn from their mistakes, there would be no new movie.

Also, when they are talking about hybrids, they are talking dinosaur-dinosaur hybrids and not human-dinosaur hybrids, right?

The hybrid dinosaur mentioned is known as the Diabolus/Indominus Rex (that hasn't been 100% clarified), and was made with Velociraptor, Tyrannosaurus, snake, and cuttlefish DNA. So we now have a giant, intelligent dinosaur that can camouflage itself almost perfectly, and will kill anything in its way. Here's the official Lego figure.

As for the reason why, the park's visitor attendance was dropping. So they decided to make something new to bring people in.

I just want an ending scene with Jeff Goldblum just going on T.V and saying "I told you, didn't I? YEP." and just rubbing it in. xD

Well, at least its not Dinosaur-Human hybrids. I can't believe they ever considered that.

I just found something out: apparently Jurassic World has both male and female Tyrannosaurs, if what the Imax section implies is correct
