Jason spun as something tapped him on the shoulder. His first thought since it came from the shadows was that it came from his father. Immediately a long blade rose from his pocket and floated in front of him. It glinted in the little light that entered the Shadow as Jason glared at the person. Although he soon recognized her as one of the others. His knife fell back to his pocket. "It is unwise to do that to me again if you intend to live. Some of us have different threats than the others in this room to watch out for." The boy growled

Roxy smiled as he raised his sword to her. She doubted that he could have harmed her but it was good to see that at least one of them could defend themselves. "It seems the two of us have more in common than just the ability to walk though the shadows. It is good to met you Jason. I look forward to seeing what else you can do."

Bay clears his throat. "Bay. Garnet." He leans back in his chair, glaring across the floor at Genevieve before looking around the room. There are still a few people who have yet to introduce themselves. He grits his teeth and waits.

Jason stared at her for a second before nodding in acknowledgement. He didn't like how she acted, so the boy decided that he would watch her. The outwardly friendly ones were usually the ones who would hurt you the soonest. So the boy turned back to the room. He noticed the girl curled up like she was terrified of the others.... Ash if he was recalling her name correctly, the boy felt a pang of sadness for her. He knew what that dark place was like where she currently was. It was horrible, anxiety was not fun. The boy also was aware that he had a very strong sense of needing to protect and help those in dark places. He had no idea where he had developed this notion but it was clearly there. The boy decided he would try to talk to that girl later, maybe see if he was able to help her get over the anxiety.

Ash listened quietly as the rest of the people talked, but the tension from the confrontation between Roxy and Jason still ate at her. This feeling was only compounded when she realized that Roxy had vanished as well. Ash looked around the room, scanning everyone, before allowing her gaze to fall to the floor. Ash starting to rock back and forth on her chair, slightly, as if she couldn't stand her nervousness. Ash wanted to leave the manor already, or at least get up and go to whatever room or place the owner of the manor wanted his guests to stay at. She couldn't take it in the room much longer.

Kara begins to believe Bay is a man of few words. His tension is still as present as it was when she first entered the room and it was obvious to her it was due to Genevieve. She then watches Roxy and Jason's exchange in wonder. How are they walking through the shadows? She has never met anyone else with a gift like her. The excitement starts to bubble in her stomach.

Sensing Ash's rising anxiety, Kara turns her attention her way. "Wanna see what I can do?" Kara reaches in her bag and pulls out a half full bottle of water. She unscrews the top and tips it upside down over her open palm. As the water spills out of the spout it morphs into a ball above her hand. She expands the water until it resembles a large bubble. "I can controls elements. Like water, air, earth and fire. How about you?" She closes her palm and directs the water back in to the bottle with a poetic motion. She's hoping the smooth flow of the water and her unthreatening example of power eases Ash a bit.

Roxy made her way through the shadow world once again. She greeted the creatures there. She would spend more time getting to know the creatures here. But right now she needed to get back to where she could see the others. She wanted to assess them. She needed to know who to be wary of. Jason was high on her list. His ability to move through the shadows made him a possible threat. Until she knew more about everyone her she wasn't going to let down her guard.

Jason looked at the girl as she seemed to shake a little bit, his electric blue eyes holding their gaze at Ash. He was surprised that she had even managed to last this long among everybody else of she was that scared.

"Well, what now?" Bay asks, looking over at Genevieve. "You're the one with the brilliant ideas. What do we do now?" Genevieve fumes and she knows her eyes turn dark red. She growls at him and he narrows his eyes right back at her. She grits her teeth and forces herself to calm back down. Her eyes return to their normal color and she looks around. Suddenly, there's a wisp sound against the floor and she turns around to see another letter slide under the door. She raises an eyebrow and walks over to it, picking it up. She opens it and begins to read it aloud.
"Dear Gemstones," it starts. "I fear that you will have to wait a little bit to meet me. I was hoping that when you all came together, you would be working together immediately. Obviously I overestimated the power of teenage will. So, for the time being, you will be in this house alone and without guidance until you learn to work together and live together. There are six rooms in this house where you all will be staying, one for every two of you. Your gemstone and the gemstone of the person that you will be staying with is on the door. As an added fact, there are room throughout the house that you should not go into, all of the third floor for example. But most of the second and first floor you may go into. The second floor is built for training, your powers mostly. There is a room for mind training and a room for physical training and rooms for each of your individual powers that you may train in.

“You’re probably wondering why there are only half of the Gemstones in the room. Well, the others have been a little… late in getting their letters. But no matter. Continue on as you would if all of you were there. The others will be showing up later. Please, do training and work together. But don’t kill each other. That means you, Roxy. Signed, R.K.” Genevieve finishes the letter. “Well, I guess he gave us what we’re supposed to do next. Let’s go find our rooms and roommates.”

Robert carefully maneuvered the Yellow, Vintage F250 pickup truck until it was adjacent to some other vehicles parked near the large manor. As he turned off the engine, he took a second to look at the old truck’s interior. He had only gotten it recently but he felt that it had character and gave the previous owner a good deal for it. The truck had to be at least from the 1970s but it didn’t look worn down at all despite it having been involved in at least 4 car crashes. The friendly old man who sold it to Robert said it was dependable and indestructible and so far it had proven to be just that.

Robert got out and looked around. He thought the place looked familiar. “It looks very similar to an older and larger version of Aunt Harley’s house,” he thought. He grabbed his simple, gray panama fedora and his remarkably large and overstuffed black duffel bag from the truck before locking it. He slipped the bag across his shoulder and the hat onto his head.

The gray hat matched his gray slacks and gray and white saddle shoes. He also wore a black wrinkle-free button down shirt and red suspenders. He wasn’t sure what he was supposed to wear. The letter didn’t say but he had a few changes in clothes, something for every occasion, just in case. He approached the house, brimming with excitement and wondering what waited inside. When he reached the door, he knocked once before realizing it was ajar. He smiled, sighed, and then went inside.

He could hear voices and seeing no one else decided to move towards the sounds. Having missed all the previous events and conversations, Robert walked in clueless during a lull in the conversation. He quickly surveyed the room. Robert asked in a friendly tone, “Hey guys. What’s going on here?”

The girls all caught his eye but one near the window stood out in particular. Before anyone could answer his question, he strolled over to Kara. “No sense in being coy” he thought. He leaned on the wall near her, smiled warmly at her, and said “Hello. Do you know what time it is?”

He immediately thought, “Oh God! Oh God! Crap! Crap! Crap! But there is sense in using lines better than that. Like any line, any line at all. There are billions of lines and you go with that crap.” He calmed down, exhaled, and thought, “Hey. No. It’s cool. You’re fine, besides, on the bright side, if she does give you the time, you’ll know that she will at least give you the time of day, and that’s not a bad start, right?” He fiddled with the ring on his right middle finger as he awaited her response.

Roxy laugh low inner throat. It seemed that who ever called them here saw her as a threat to the others. She admired that. She wondered who she to share a room with. She wasn't overly thrilled with the idea of sharing with anyone. She liked her space. But since she had the shadow world to escape to maybe sharing wouldn't be so hard. "Well it seems we have disappointed whoever sent us the gemstones. I don't know about you guys but I feel terrible." She said sarcastically. "I want to reassure who ever shares a room with me that I don't kill people at random. Just the one that don't respect my space. Keep your distance and we'll get along fine."

Kara turns and looks at Robert, unaware he was there. "Oh, um no. Sorry, I have no idea." Robert is pretty handsome but he seems to have a pretty boy complex about him. She dismisses the thought and reminds herself to not judge a book by it's cover. "I'm Kara. What's your name?"

Ash's rising panic quickly lowered as she was addressed by a friendly person. Had it been Roxy, or even Jason, it would be likely that Ash would of had a heart attack. Ash watched the demonstration of Kara's powers with a small smile. Ash recoiled slightly, however, when asked about her powers, ~ That's right, I'm around people like me. I can show my powers. ~ Ash thought, as she quietly returned her feet to the ground, starting to become somewhat comfortable. Ash pulled the sleeve of her hoodie back on her right arm, revealing her skin to Kara. Within an instant, 4 inches of thick diamond materialized over the exposed skin. Ash smiled slightly, happy that she could show off the power with no repercussion, "I can do this pretty much all over my body. It's really good at protecting me." Ash replied, as the diamond skin seemed to skin back into herself, disappearing completely. As Ash did so, a twinge of pain flashed on her face for a second, before being replaced by her normal passive look.

Ash snapped her head to the girl known as Genevieve, whom began to read a letter from the manor's owner. Ash listened intently as she did so, almost grimacing at the contents of the letter. After the letter had been read, Ash stood up, and started to make her way out of the room, quickly so that she could be the first one out, and so that she could avoid further social interaction, if she could. Ash exited the room, and looked around outside, determining to herself where the rooms would be located at. After a moment of deliberation, Ash trudged off, to go find a room.

Jason moved out quickly after the letter had been, rolling his eyes slightly at Roxy trying to act all tough. He didn't need to act tough or have it told, the boy knew he could kill most of the people here. With that thought, he began looking for rooms, he was among people who were somewhat like him, so maybe he should try to do something other than be antisocial. He couldn't help but wonder who his roommate would be. So for now he walked until he found the room that had his gemstone on it, with a sigh he opened the door and entered.

Ash wandered aimlessly, losing herself in the manor a few times before finally coming across a slightly agape door. A diamond caught Ash's eye, giving Ash a sense of relief that she had managed to finally find her room. Unfortunately, she always saw the gemstone of her roommate. An emerald. Ash froze for a moment, trembling like a leaf as she stood in the hall. Frozen in a panic-like state. She could hear movement inside the rooms, signifying that Jason had found the room well before her. Summoning up what courage she could, Ash pushed the door open slightly, and slinked into the room, trying her best to appear as small and unimposing as possible. Ash kept her eyes on the ground as she walked into the slightly dark room, slowly making her way to her bed, and placing her bag on the bed.

"Oh where is my head?"Robert said, "I'm Rab... um.. Rob." Robert stopped fiddling with his ring and extended his hand."Apparently, planted firmly up my ass"he thought,Rob? No one has ever in the history of ever referred to you as Rob. Calm down and get it together, man. He looked at the girl and smiled again hoping his face didn't betray his nervousness. It usually didn't but he was doing especially poorly today. "Do you know where everyone is going?" he asked,"I'm bit a late to the party so I'm a bit out of the loop."

Jason looked over at the girl as she entered and raised an eyebrow at how shy the girl was acting at the moment. After a small bit of sitting around in silence, the boy spoke up. "I know what you feel" He said in a raspy voice. "The Anxiety of being around others. Having to hide what you are." The boy says, although his tone sounds as if he really cares, showing that he isn't teasing her.

Ash froze up for a moment as Jason addressed her, asserting that he knew how she felt. Ash unzipped her bag, and started unpacking her clothes, keeping her back facing Jason. Even now, Ash was shaking slightly, but she was doing her best to hide it from Jason. This wasn't the first time someone had told her that they knew how she feel, and knew who she really was. By now, Ash had started ignoring people that spouted that kind of thing, but something in Jason's voice made it sound as if he really meant what he said. Ash attempted to speak up, but couldn't find the right words to respond to Jason. After a moment of fiddling with the contents of her bag, pretending to be busy unpacking, Ash slightly turned around to look back at Jason, "Thank you." Ash said, quietly, keeping her gaze on Jason for a few moments longer before going back to the contents of her bag. Ash felt slightly relieved that someone seemed to care about her here, and actually was attempting to try to relate to her.

"I hate the feeling. I know how much it can hurt. I'm here if you need somebody who understands you." He says softly before looking out the window, wondering why they were here. "Any ideas why we were all brought here?"

Ash didn't reply to Jason's offer. It wasn't that Ash didn't want to respond, but because she didn't know how to respond. Laying all her spare clothes out, which was actually quite a small amount for the normal girl, she turned around and sat on the bed, finally fully facing Jason. Ash brought her feet up on the bed, once more drawing her knees up to her chest. Ash wrapped her arms around her knees, seemingly making a protective ball, "We're special." Ash said, from behind her makeshift protective shield of her arms and legs, "Maybe whoever the person is who wanted us here is trying to contain us." Ash added, as she kept her eyes on Jason, examining his figure. Something about the young man made Ash slightly uncomfortable, which Ash tried her absolute best to hide.
