How I imagine Mahz when he comes online and everyone rushes to ask him questions.

Mahz ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Now to delve semi-randomly into our good ol' list...

What about GM/CoGM 0th post, @Mahz? How deep on the list is that?

I think the feature is pretty straightforward from a technical standpoint, but I need to figure out how the UI should actually look.

For example, let's say you're on this page: roleplayerguild.com/topics/88309-overt.. (page 7 of a roleplay's OOC) tab, and the roleplay has a 0th post for OOC and one for Chars.

- Where do you see that info and how should it be displayed?
- What's a better name for this system than "0th Post"? Ideally something that's more self-explanatory.

Design and UI work is the hardest part for me by far. I usually crush the technical/code part and then drain all my energy trying to express a feature in the template.

Does it need to be able to be read all the time? ie, could it be in a collapsible box like the Formatting CheatSheet? And then would it be better to add it to above the Next/Prev page buttons since it's going to be something that will be seen all the time?

Then whenever it's updated you could have the time on the section saying (Updated x hours ago) so people can tell if there has been something added in the meantime?

As for the name? Because it's info that's appearing on each page, could it be "Roleplay Details" or "Character Sheet Details"?

We think it would be best if:
visible if on page 1
collapsed if page 2+

Below the navigation buttons, though. They're nice to have on top.

One other minor thing that would be very convenient is a way to jump to CS tab 1.

Maybe have the titlebar editable by the GMs? That way naming isn't your problem?

Agreed.

Also yes - especially since something like "character sheet details" might not even be relevant to a large number of RPs...

@Mahz

We've been pondering a bit on that vague slowness in the posting window on some android units... What features are unique to that, which do not exist on the edit post window?

The slowness is visible in both post window and PM window, but never in the edit post/PM functions. Thus logic should indicate the culprit being a feature that is in the former but not the latter.

We vaguely recall you mentioning an autosave feature. could that be related?

Not sure if this is a feature or a bug or if I should even be posting it here, but why does it say "posted 3 mins ago" when I just post something?

Something about time lag or another thing I don't understand?

It also rounds up a bit. 31sec = 1min, 23hr 1min = 24hr ago, 6days 1min = 1week.

I still find the rounding-up rather jarring, especially with longer periods of time, and would prefer a more conventional, strictly floored time-system.

We personally would've desired time display method to be configurable, so that everyone could, in theory, get their preferred time layout.

We would also prefer to have about 8 hours extra in the day.

You tell me... Sleep should be entirely optional, I say. Tiredness consistently keeps getting in the way of me doing things I want to do.

You can sleep in the grave.

Mind you, if you go without sleep sufficiently long, you might find your way to there.

Sadly I only sleep 5-6 hours a night, and even then it's broken sleep. :P

Speaking of general improvements, is it necessary to have a "Top" button at the bottom of each thread when we have the locked green arrows? It seems to be redundant, personally.

@LegendBeginsI don't find it redundant. When I'm on my phone, it comes in pretty handy. Especially because where I usually hang out there are a lot of really long posts. The Green arrow buttons save me from having to either scroll all the way back up or down if I stop mid way through a page.

Then why would we not remove the "Top" button?

Took me a bit to work out where you we're pointing to, but yes, the link isn't something that I'm guessing would be used a lot.
