It was finally time. Cyrul was on board the giant airship alongside dozens of other students, looking out the side windows to see Vale in all its glory miles below them. There was plenty of ooh's and ahh's from the more excitable students as Beacon academy itself came into view, crowning the top of the mountain that overlooked Vale. A hologram of one of the teachers came into view over the windows, announcing herself as Glynda Goodwitch and giving a short speech to the new students. Shortly after that the airship touched down at Beacon, and the doors opened for students to set foot in the academy they would be attending until they graduated as full-fledged Huntsmen and Huntresses. Cyrul stepped out the door quickly, looking around for a few moments before starting to confidently walk to the entrance doors.

Nico stretched and yawned as he stumbled out of the large and fancy ship that had taken him and a bunch of other nervous students to the school called Beacon. Most of the new students had already paired off and went to talk about there experiences and the beauty of the city from the ship. Unfortunately, sleep had hit Nico in the face as soon as he entered the ship, but he really did not care for the view, he came for the information and counsel that would be given and thought to him. Nico started to slowly walk towards the schools doors, as he walked, he started to notice the large amount of humans that had came to this school, he could not lie, he still had a sore spot for humans, but he would give them a try when the opportunity presented itself, if he was not asleep.

Silus stretched his arms out wide, his body relishing the great glass windows that allowed sunlight to blast through. His body rippled gently as he drank in the heat, it's warmth heating his body and making him smile. His long, thin scaled tail curled gently around his leg. It's movements caused his scales that coated the tail and dusted his cheeks and arms to flash with iridescent colour as the sun hit them at multiple angles. He yawned, a deep loud noise, as his yellow eyes flickered around from the faces of people around him. Humans were watching him. Faunus were watching him. He knew he was an oddity to both of them, the prevailing and most well known faction of Faunus being mammalian in nature left his family's...odd...features to stand out. His tailed flicked slightly in annoyance. It wasn't his fault he was different. He moved to lay down on one of the lounges, his movements being followed by some of his new classmates. Silus shrugged, most of them were pretty cute anyway. He smiled faintly, slightly bronze lips curling at the edges as he thought about things every eighteen year old male thought about. His hands touched the bronze bracelets that lay dormant on his wrists. This year....was going to be interesting. The airship stopped, the sudden movement causing Silus to lurch to his feet. It was an odd sensation when he had realized everything he had thought was solid a few moments ago was actually just suspended in mid air. It was slightly disconcerting. The reptilian Faunus strolled through the milling crowd and off the ship. He looked at the looming spire of Beacon Academy and rolled his shoulders gently. He knew Beacon assigned people teams at the start...he wondered what, if any, selection processes there were. Rolling his shoulders again he reached up to the black fabric tie that held his hair in its low ponytail, tightening it quickly before smiling. This year was going to be fun.

Today was a day Tim wished would just be over already. It's not that the day was bad, it wasn't much different to any other day. It was just that more important things would happen on days after this one. As the airship descended and a teacher made her speech, Tim sighed. Today wasn't going to be over soon. Not by a long shot. Tim was one of the first people to get off the ship. There were 2 reasons for this. The first reason was the fact that he'd been drawing weird looks, mainly attributed to the great sword on his back, which doubtlessly seen as out of place in the possession of Tim. The second reason was the fact that if he wanted to pass the time, the best way to do so was to get acquainted with the school grounds. Information on where he would spend the next few years of his life was necessary, and while this could always be provided by the faculty, he liked to do it himself. As he left the ship, he pushed past a few of his 'new classmates' who were standing around, probably staring at the architecture or something similarly arbitrary. Tim pulled out and unfolded his map of the grounds while walking so he could identify his current position. Obviously, he was in front of the main building. Tim noted the positions of various important structures and folded the map back up, keeping it at hand. Tim needed to explore the area, but first he had to make an appearance. He was a new student first and foremost and there were things that new students had to do.

Sitting on his bench, Vincent looked around calmly. The humans were staring at him, he was a faunus, and the faunus stared at the mask that hung at his side. They could guess at its meaning, but if they did they'd be outed by the staff for knowing that. And they'd be wrong anyway, he wasn't a part of white fang. When he had been this hadn't been his mask, and he'd never really been a part of it. Thair was nothing to tie him to those extremist scum. To be honest he hadn't really minded them, as a child he had attended more then one rally. But then at one of the violent ralys his mother had been shot. The government, not really caring about the welfare of a faunus, left him with his father. But his father wasn't the best guy, and he owed money to the wrong people... And they had been better to him then anyone but his mother and the real white fang. They had him infiltrate the terrorists, and he did, but first they let him kill his father. Wait what?! Oh Damn, he'd missed the whole landing and he was one of the last people on the ship. He didn't give a second look to any of the students, and he slid his mask on his face. He wouldn't be left behind just because he had been reminiscing.

"Whoohoooooo!" Nahbi punched a fist into the air and took off, running down from the ship with her arms spread like wings. Excitement shot through her as she darted past the various students and beheld what she'd been dreaming of for years: Beacon Academy. She'd made it. She couldn't stop the laughter that bubbled through her when she stopped in front of the towering school, jumping up and down like a child. Nahbi turned to the closest student and said, "Finally, right?" She didn't wait for a response before turning back to look at Beacon.

Kasuri stopped his training as the signature jolt that all airships had told their arrival. Breathing heavily from his training session he re-sheathed his katana and began walking towards the school with the rest of the crowd. On his way there he noticed a somewhat timid looking boy wearing glasses wielding a great-sword that had to at least be as big as the boy himself. He also noticed a lion fanus who was wielding a rather large Bat'leth and someone obviously very excited shot ahead in front of everyone shouting for joy, quite foolish really. As he was looking around at all these interesting people he bumped into someone, he turned to face them "Sorry I-," he almost paused in surprise at seeing a lizard looking fanus but managed to keep talking without stuttering, "I wasn't looking were I was going." He had been under the impression that fanus types were limiting to mammals,

Nico looked for a place to sleep before the proceedings started. He really wanted to get a nap in, or he would end up snoring his way though the opening speech for the school, and that would be disrespectful, at least that is what his late parents told him. Nico rubbed the sleep out of his eyes as his brown tail flicked around lazily. Nico readjusted his duffle bag and slowly walked forward once again, resuming his search for a place to sleep. As he was walking and getting feel for the school, a girl's screams of excitement blasted through his ear drums, that was one of the draw backs of being a Faunus, every little loud noise was like someone stuffing a blow horn down his ear canal. Nico looked around for the loud voice and met face to face with a young woman no older than he was. "Finally, right?" She yelled at him. "Finally, what?" he said confused and slightly dazed.

Nahbi jumped when she heard someone actually reply to her. Her head snapped back to look at her fellow student – in her excitement she'd forgotten that conversations required two people, and that she wasn't just yammering to herself. Her confusion was quickly forgotten though (along with any rules about what was a socially acceptable level of contact between strangers)and she threw her arm around the faunus' shoulders. "Finally _this_!" she exclaimed, throwing her other arm out towards the academy. Her grin took over most of her face as she looked between Beacon and her new friend. "Finally we're off that stupid ship! Finally we get to be hunters! What, still waking up?"

Nico could not get why the girl was so happy, sure Beacon was nice, but that did not call for the yelling a screaming that accompanied the woman's excitement. Nico waited the girl to respond, for a second, she seemed to be be mentally talking to herself, which was not creepy in any way. All of a sudden, her hand went from her sides to his shoulder, a little to much touching from a person he just met. His tail slicked back and forth a bit faster due to his agitation, this was a human. Fortunately, Nico was able to keep calm and remind his self that this was the opportunity he was telling him self about a few minutes before. "Finally we're off that stupid ship! Finally we get to be hunters! What, still waking up?" she grinning up at him. "The ship was the best part." he mumbled under his breath. " Sure we get to be Hunters, if you can graduate, which is in 4 years, so we're not Hunters yet." he said as he yawned. "And no, I'm still looking for a place to sleep."

Cyrul was casually looking around, hands in his pockets as his Cheshire Grievance, currently folded down in its storage mode, hung against his back, the magnetic seal attached to his jacket keeping it in place despite its weight. Most of the students milling out of the ship didn't particularly interest him, but a few caught his eye. Of course one was the unreasonably tall reptilian Faunus, which was a surprise to see as he didn't think reptilian Faunus even existed. There was also a rather loud girl who had decided to attach herself to a tired looking Faunus kid, and the scrawny child who was carrying around a sword at least as tall as he was. He figured it would be a good idea to make a few friends as early as possible, but he definitely wanted to get his bearings first. Unfortunately in his looking around for a place to go he backed up right into someone else. "Oh crap, I'm really sorry. Shoulda been looking where I was going." He stated as he turned around to face the person.

"Umph..." Vincent exhaled suddenly, being bumped into by some weird looking human. Sighing slightly, he took his mask off slightly to speak to the kid. "It's all right, should have been looking where I was going. I'm Vincent Nero, nice to meet you." He was glad to make friends, friends were power. He extended his hand to kid. "You can call me Nero, the family does." And he grinned slightly, showing off some sharp fangs.

Unperturbed by the faunus boy's reminder, Nahbi's grin grew sharper and she leaned into him. "Can and _will_, buddy. I doubt any of us came this far just to _almost_ be a Hunter." Finally drawing back her arm, she interlocked her fingers and stretched her hands high above her head. "Also," she added, her nose high in the air in a display of faux poshness (or at least what she thought was posh) "sleep is for the weak." Her smile grew on her face again and she bumped the faunus with her hip. "C'mon, don't be a bore on our first day at Beacon."

This was not natural. Monsters stealing children from their beds. People shrugging off mortal wounds. Taking down game ten times your size. Running up and down walls and ceilings. Throwing rocks that turned into water. These things made sense, this was the world Zedong grew up in, he never batted an eyelash at any of these. But being five thousand feet in the air in a tin box, that was unnatural. Its not like there was a choice, there was no walking to Beacon. He could have climbed the cliff, it would have taken him longer granted, but it would be natural. He made it a point to be the last one on, just so he could be the first one off, and that he did, collapsing on the first patch of grass he found. "I grew up playing with sticks. Why the heck would anyone need a flying box with a capacity of a couple hundred people," he asked aloud. The problem wasn't in his stomach, or his body for that fact, it was in his head. It was obvious that flying ships were safe, sturdy, and convenient, this he knew. Didn't change the fact that the man just didn't like it. After a while he composed himself. Standing up he grabbed his spear with both hands in rested it behind his head, across his shoulders. This was the other reason he got on last, though the first one mattered most. Most people had weapons that collapsed, making them easier to carry. Zedong's weapon did no such thing, and standing at twelve feet tall, that says a lot. Had hit someone on accident? He hadn't noticed, was never good in confined spaces, but with a world so big, why would he have to. Now himself again, he joined the other additions to Beacon in taking in the sights. The man had lived in the "civilized world" for two years before this and even now he still didn't quite understand it. Here was a place of learning. With experienced professors and staff, tomes of knowledge, boundaries, rules, training equipment, this place was made to help people advance their skills so they could dawn the title of Hunter or Huntress. In the past learning meant doing, hoping by the skin of your teeth that you did it in a way that you can try again. But this place would be different. If he made a mistake, no one would die, if he made a mistake, it was only a lesson learned. "Well," he said to no one, "kid gloves it is then." Looking around not knowing where to go, he noticed a student who stood near him on the ship, a man in a brown coat with a great sword on his back. More importantly, he was holding a map. "Whoa, mate," he called out hoping to get the mans attention. "Nice map. Any idea where we are supposed to go? Name's Zedong by the way."

Cyrul took a quick step back so he was more than half an inch away from the slightly creepy Fox faunus, returning his hands to his pockets now that his balance had been regained. "I'm Cyrul. Nice to meet ya!" He grasped the extended hand in a friendly handshake. "Interesting mask you got there. Stylish." He stated, moving a little bit to make room for the multitude of people heading past them towards the main academy building. Not even really waiting for a response to his previous statement he looked up at the tower, filled with glowing orbs and gears, looking like some sort of fantastical clock tower. "Impressive view eh?" He asked, looking for a second to make sure the Faunus was still there, but really he didn't mind anyone joining him in conversation.

Nico leaned back as the girl leaned forward and commented on how she would pass and what not. He still had no idea why she was interested in him, he was just one of a hundred students, and because he decided to reply to her, she became attached, or so he thought. Nico's tail started to flick back and forth faster, showing that he was a bit nervous, but a bit agitated. The girl was kinda overbearing, but in a good way, what ever that way was, he hoped he would eventually find it, but he would use that excuse for know. She then stretched at lifted her head; Nico was not gonna lie, the girl was good looking, if he wasn't so tired he would say it straight to her face, but she seemed to already have that part down. "C'mon, don't be a bore on our first day at Beacon." She said as she bumped into him with her hip. "I guess we're all weaklings." he said under he breath. "Alright, I'll step out of my comfort zone for a bit. So tell me, what do you wish to do on our, first day at Beacon." he said with a grin as his weariness slowly went away.

Nahbi froze. That... was a very good question. What were they supposed to do now? Wasn't a teacher supposed to greet them and give them their rooms or something? Oh well. Details had never bothered Nahbi in the past, and like hell she'd let them bother her now. "Why, my furry friend," she said with fake confidence, "we do what we came here to do: kick ass and take names!" Not that she actually knew what that entailed at this point. Whatever, it sounded cool. "Mine's Nahbi, by the way," she said with a grin. "Nahbi Cho. Future Huntress extraordinaire. Let's see if we can't get some of our comrades in on the fun. If there's one thing I've learned in my entire life, it's that it's harder for people to punish big groups." Not that Nahbi planned on doing anything that they would be punished for. Of course not.

### Pim Teagarden ![enter image description here](http://i61.tinypic.com/m245g.jpg "enter image title here") Pim found himself being playfully teased by two of his older brothers, both of which who were senior students at beacon. His mother was a current employee for them as well, so Pim had been brought to the school days prior, simply made to bench in his mother's room until today. Today was the big day. The day when all his new classmates arrived and he was placed on a team. **"I'll be fine. Aren't I usually the one who is like a parent between the three of us?"**, Pim said to one of his older brothers in a mocking, but silly tone. Pim was nervous, this was certain, but he did feel at ease knowing that he had family around to fall back on. When his older brothers began to argue over something trivial, Pim slipped away from them and walked up to the entrance of beacon as he heard the rumbling and settling of the airship. They were here. He rattled his clarinet in his hand, his fingers almost tempted to bring it up to his lips so he could play a melody. He would wait and play a special melody he had prepared for his teammates once his team had been chosen, whomever they would be. Pim gently settled his back on the wall and crossed his ankles, clasping his hands behind his back and smiling pleasantly as the students arrived. So many different students. Some odd looking, and many quiet, normal, and one in particular who was especially loud, but it was so cute and charming. Pim watched her actions fuzzily from where he was. Her excitement was certainly contagious. He had become a little acquainted with the place on account that he had been there a few days earlier before almost everyone else. While normally he would have cheerfully walked up to the students and welcomed them in with warm and affectionate arms, he decided to watch, finding himself utterly enthralled by all the newcomers. And besides, he didn't want to be rude. Some people, when unfamiliar with new places, preferred the solitary moments of settling in before they branch out to meet new people. He would wait a bit before he introduced himself, though, his delicate and sunny countenance was plainly itching to converse. He certainly wouldn't hold back if someone approached him first.

"Yeah, well... The view ain't all bad." Nero said, a bit wearily. "My mask is my own design, based on the grim. 'Know thy enemy' and all that. Whatever. You want to go up to the school? I've been waiting to get here for a long time, I want to check it out." He puts his mask back on, then gestures for the human to follow him to the school. This human could be interesting, not that Nero was so normal himself. In time, he would have to make friends. This seemed the likely candidate.

> "Whoa, mate," he called out hoping to get the man's attention. "Nice map. Any idea where we are supposed to go? Name's Zedong by the way." Tim inwardly groaned. He'd hoped to go through the day with as little social interaction as possible. Theoretically, the least amount of social interaction possible was none at all for the first day, if he was good enough at avoiding it. Unfortunately for Tim, people who liked talking would usually attempt to talk to him, regardless of his own wishes. There were 2 reasons Tim avoided social interaction: He had little to no social skills and it was annoying. Tim looked over to the person who just spoke to him, analysing his threat level. He looked serious, male, had a spear. Kind of imposing. There was a chance that he was also socially awkward, or at least not as socially adept as others. That said, they say you can't judge a book by it's cover, but you can deduce a few things from the cover anyway. The likelihood of the man not following up with a conversation wasn't exactly high, but he could do something about that. "I'm heading to the main building for now." Tim replied. Tim had to handle this carefully. He had to give him enough information and also make it so that there was no avenue for conversation. "The principal's speech starts soon so I suggest you do the same." He said, walking off. That should discourage conversation, for now, assuming that the person wasn't more curious than Tim thought.
