I just watched this video on my lunch-break at work. Makes me wish my character was piloting an A-10.

It also makes me want to run a game with all the characters piloting the same type of aircraft too, though no-one would ever go for that ¬.¬

Phantoms Phorever, although I still hold a spot for the local mud-hens.
-Some reason, the Peruvians refer to the A-37 as the "little frog[foot]".

Also, I was planning on checking on Kat's allergic reaction to her vaccination, maybe a quick soak in the hot-tub since the island beach-resort isn't an option.

I think Esailia has pretty much dropped out, so I'd leave Kat - I'll write her out in the next GM post, since she hasn't posted lately and doesn't show any signs of coming back. It's a shame, but I can't make people post or join in, really.

There's a work-around for that, if you trust someone enough to post your character in the background (or as needed, into the foreground) then you can elect a second/stunt-double to do the heavy-lifting of your posting.

In the event of original-author death, the second usually inherits that character. I've inherited about four over the course of ten years.
1. A nation in civil war / specifically, a female child winter-soldier (which consisted of several firsts back in 2006/7).
2. A gigolo in the middle of a TWD RP, incidentally shortly after killing off my own character and a bunch of others (raiding an ICBM-silo for food is a bad idea).
3. A mech-pilot (using the term very loosely, but lets just say she can dual-wield several mechs at a time).
4. And a couple of cyborg-werewolves and other assorted shadowrun-characters.

Oddly enough, none of those characters have been permitted to die inside their story-arcs and generally lashed-out by taking homicidally-insane up to 11.
-Well, maybe the noble-pyromancer... she did take a crossbow-bolt to the gut...

Luckily I've never had a person I've roleplayed with die, atleast that I knew of.....

I hope it never happens.

Well, keep in mind many of the oldies I was RPing with happened to be joining or had already joined the military by that point.

But I know one died of getting hit by a truck (well, two; one was apparently a suicide), another from cancer, and a third from a brain-hemorrhage/ruptured-aneurism.

Back on-topic:
I'm tempted to point out we could just pave the way for bigger things. Or smaller things.

Even though they aren't in 'merica, it's kinda nice knowing they're still working exactly as intended down south. Here's hoping that's where the A-10s end-up, I hear they hand-out joy-rides.

Oh, and despite being based on a trainer, the A-37's internals were re-worked to be nearly A-10 levels of redundant survivable (or rather, what we learned patching-up busted A-37s went into designing the A-10). The A-10 was more of the USAF's decision to go with a whole new plane rather than upgrade the A-37 into an American Su-25.
-For the first year of combat, the A-37 suffered 0 combat-losses in over 4,000 sorties with 2 hrs maintenance per flying hour.
So far, only one A-37 has been shot-down IRL. By an SA-7 in 1990.

@Silverwind Blade @Shiningsector

Would taking a trip to 'inspect' the new forward airbase during one of her breaks with Spirit be too free-spririted for a person on the alert-crew?

Figuring news of the base freshly coming under allied control with a few flyable "souvenirs" courtesy of a bit of deception from the ground-combatants. So they'd need someone to volunteer to fly a truckload of pilots down to shuttle them back... Preferably at rather low altitude to avoid dem 'mercs.

How low? Low enough that if I deploy the A-37's landing-gear I'll likely rip off a wheel or two.

Well, considering alert means you need to be standing by your aircraft ready to scramble, it'd be kind of irresponsible.
Also, I hadn't really planned on any of the A-37's being in serviceable condition. If you want one that badly, change your aircraft to an A-37 and I'll write it in.

I don't use dropper bottles - I have screw-top jars for my Tamiya paints, and if I'm brush-painting I use a palette with a small amount of paint, and do the jar up in-between uses.
If I'm using GW paints (I use their metallics on occasion, and I'm using up the last of their other paints I have left over from my wargaming days), then I do the same: use a palette with a small amount, and close the jar between uses.
I bought the palette from a cheap budget shop that had some art supplies. You can use old tiles, an old plate, or anything else similar. Even an old plastic lid from a tub works.
When it comes to modelling tips, btw, for wargaming or otherwise, Google is your friend. I've picked up loads and loads of useful tips on using household items for modelling that avoids spending hundreds (if not more) of pounds on overly expensive specific kit.

I actually prefer dropper bottles as many a time I've clogged up detail because I have a 2:1 mixture of paint-to-water. I really suck at measuring the amount I get from my brush. now if Vallejo had a counterpart for Calgar Blue, then I'd be really happy. sadly the don't so I'm just going to go with Scorpy green.

And I think I won't go with Minitaire anyways. my friends say that they're a bit glossy, which isn't what I want. and I do use a palette, I'm actually using a piece of plastic that was once a mixed nuts container top.

essentially, I do know a lot of what you recommend. I have used google before but really haven't gotten any real luck on the things I research.

on another note,I am jealous of you. you live in the UK.

you don't have to pay 12% on shipping :l

True, but we have a lot less specialist stores in towns, cities and neighbourhoods by comparison to the US. I'm lucky; I live in a student city, so there are two comic shops and several model shops here. However, their stock is limited (for example, none of the model shops stock any anime-related merch, and same for the two comic shops), which means while I'd love to support my local businesses more, I'm forced not to simply because they don't stock any of the things I'm interested in.

And if it's 12% shipping for GW stuff, I wouldn't be buying it anyway - their prices are absurd to the point of being robbery anyway, which is one of the many reasons I don't play 40k or any of their other games any more.

oh no, it's not for GW.

it's for FW.

I want a Y'vahra, but that's a total of $117.

I am sad to say that I will be gone for the next two weeks. The OS is making up some major BS about how much they care and they're sending me back to the local high school. I'm going to be in my room for the next few weeks, sulking at the fact that I am passing but won't pass.

Anyone, please feel free-and I mean PLEASE feel free- to use my character. as long as it doesn't break his character. I'm sad to say this, because I know that in two weeks a lot can happen. please stay strong guys. when I return I'll resume trying to help with finding more recruits.

Well, since I totally suck at interacting with myself (or at least, highlighting any details that make any sense to anyone else), and since I was planning to also collaborate with @ShiningSector for the time on-alert (it may involve a hot-tub and shenanigans), I figure he could fill-in for @The Mage.

The original idea was to visit with Kat, soak in a tub, then go looking for an excuse to shoot a rifle at someone.
-Most of these possible shenanigans have been nixied.

Do not click hider if you cannot handle spoiler-alert.

Should likely leave it as a 3-way collab/convo in case Mage can give input along the way.
