I'm up for whatever the majority decides, and whatever can truly work.

I think either the second or third option will be a bit easier, but that will be up to everyone else and the work we can put in.

I would be strongly interested in a reboot, as long as the original cast actually stuck around. I got weary of this RP because by the end of it Tirrarian was supposed to be best friends with 3 different people, and then forget they existed when the person drops out. I got seriously fatigued reading character sheets that may or may not turn up in the IC

@The Fated Fallen, yeouch! I can see why that would be something that would get ya, especially as I don't have a sterling record of fidelity myself.

Not so much your fault as other people who left, you and the new bunch of people have been pretty consistent. It was more circumstance that lead to the current lack of activity

Although it is extremely regrettable to see the likes of @IcePezz, thereafter followed by @The Fated Fallen it has been a tremendous honor to be regarded so highly; it is a remarkable sensation to have a roleplay and characters worthy of interaction and participation. Although my time has been effectively brief with the core characters, and more prevalent with some of the newer additions I did not feel as though our groups were so separate.

In truth what it is I am saying is, more than anything, thank you - not just the departed or departing, but all.

Officially I am not resigning and taking my leave from this roleplay, and although my opinion might hold some form of sway in these future events, all I really ask is that whatever is decided upon is done so for as a whole. Not just the players' interests, but those of this fantasy's heroes, villains, lore and world itself.

This is one of the few roleplays I have seen with its own mythos that was actually good - worthwhile. I would rather not see so many contributions wholly undone, and while I think it would be best to start anew, I believe these events should be considered canom to the following story.

My other advice, from experience here and abroad, is to limit the roleplay to a core group and open only if or when someone departs.

I apologize for my inconsistency, but do believe me I took the time to make this reply out in the middle of nowhere on what limited service I can get; this is a very, very rare thing. Perhaps fate intended it.

All the same, to those leaving, goodbye and good luck - we will be here.

I generally agree; especially on the part where considerations of the universe created itself should be considered. I put a good amount of behind-the-scenes investment in it that isn't clear reading the IC or even OOC, so this one dropping would certainly be a blow.

I'm a little mixed on limiting it; on one hand, I like the idea of being open to new folks at any time, particularly since most of the original core group dropped out; and on the other hand, this roleplay did suffer from a little bit of confusion as to who was doing what, where. So, perhaps a compromise in creating a core group to start with, but allowing new players in if we can put a system in place to organize things?

I know I'm not really around that much so my opinion is probably worthless, but I would go for the reboot option. This was my first RP and I feel that my posts have been rather sub-standard I'm hopefully improving and a fresh start would allow me to iron out a few kinks in Ionathan personality and character. It would also allow anyone to tweak their character if they felt that they would prefer to be something else.

But above all, I would like to thank everyone in this RP for putting up with a newbie like me with my bad posts and horrible grammar mistakes. I wish you all the best of luck in your future endeavours.

Well, first of all, you did just fine. Quite well, in fact.

Seems like the primary opinion flowing right now is reboot... so I suppose the next question is reboot this roleplay (which would admittedly undo a lot of stuff built up here) or set these events as a prologue, make a summary of what came next and start differently?

@ArenaSnowFirstly, you forgot to tag me.

Secondly, I would suggest a reboot as well. I have some ideas that I could pm you about, @IcePezz.

If that is all, I'll see you guys when the new one starts up.

Could have sworn I saw you somewhere in that list O.o

I guess there's a reason why I ended up dropping the mentions entirely; I'm horrible at keeping track of people without a definite list somewhere. I'm a little confused as to who is in, out, temporarily away, still going...

@ArenaSnow That's why I try to keep a list of active players in the main post on the first page in my RPs if the need arises. Right now, the only 1 I'm running is an Overlord based RP with 8 children of the Overlord from Overlord 2. Smaller group than what I'm used to.

Either option can work, as long as they let me Retcon a lot of stuff about Giray.

There is no reason I can see that the lore and universe you created behind the scenes could not "play out" and let the consequences thereof, based on how things are generally going, regardless of it being a "win" or "loss" for the players, could not be used in the future events. After all, as I see it, the situation of this current roleplay being a "prologue" could provide massive reason for the events in the next iteration. That is my thinking, so it does not all go to waste, and a lot of "end-game" goals for bad guys still can be reworked and woven in again as continuity.

Whatever the outcome is, the new characters (or surviving ones if they age slowly such as an elf, or not at all as a demon), readily have some plot based motivation left. Even if the scenario as it is now in the current story is where the heroes "win" I highly doubt the demons won't just bide their time and attack a few hundred years later when their baneful enemies are long dead and the world mostly forgot of these events. If the players "lost", then there's no more reason you need. The world lost. Now the battle is uphill and more heroic because these could very well be the last heroes of the world.

It works in any configuration I can imagine, really - it all comes down to the lore, which does not seem to be the issue in the slightest; there's no lack of it.

Moving on, although it is nice to have the roleplay open all the time to get "new blood" there has to be a limit on how many players get involved, otherwise you encounter issues as we've seen here. Core, important, crucial characters (for the plot or backstories) up and vanish, leaving gaping holes in a myriad of things, plot included. So the sort of system where you have say, six or seven players, no more, and only replace them if one leaves is safer.

I am however, entirely against a reboot.

Why replay the same events as before? Not all of us, myself included, were present, but why? Of course the outcomes will be different, to some length, but there's too much invested. It feels like a betrayal in a way, as there were so many distinct elements that you're just trying to match or best them now.

Sounds logical to me.

So then. Are folks here in favor of a pretty long timeskip? Some folks here might want to keep their characters and not have to make brand new ones because the old ones are too old... so, either way.

How about the idea of moving to a different part of the world? Still same side and probably same hemisphere... but a different country to set events in?

Possibly age and factors that affect age, but I think if there is a timeskip; then it will be one that stays within the lifetime of active characters.
