Eisenhorn Inquisitor of some Note

Member Seen 11 hrs ago

Stukov listened to Sis lay out her commentary and statements on the technobabble nonsense that disabled psyker powers. She also commented on taking on a group of Sisters with only a shotgun and pistol, and slipped in a off hand remark before she continued. "Don't forget my knife and saber too, and there are worse odds." He let her finish, going on about some Ordos Hereticus inquisitor taking over once the retinue was done here on the planet, which didn't likely sit well for his odds of survival. After all, he was, by all accounts, an unsanctioned psyker that had no formal means of controlling or channeling his powers. That wouldn't likely sit well with this new Inquisitor, depending on her stance. Well, far as the other veterans from the Blackships told him while he served as fellow armsman. As she finished, he sighed, an odd sound through the bionic voice box, and responded, already tired and the day wasn't even mostly done.

"Sounds like a summary execution waiting to happen, is what this meeting sounds like. I'd bet they have the prior mission reports Boss forwarded, means they know full well about yours truly. Doubt this Inquisitor will like having an unsanctioned around. Best case scenario, get sent off for sanctioning in the Black Ships. At worst, a round through the skull. I'll lay out the truth as I see it, nothing more, nothing less. And self defense remains self defense, with or without these warp damned powers. I ain't going out of my way to piss off a bunch of bolter bitches in their own hovel." Stukov turned to walk up into the transport, to find his seat before the others, already having everything he needed for the, what he felt was inevitable, outbreak of violence that was likely to happen today. Whether it was overt or covert, he didn't know yet, but in the meantime, he would take the time he could to rest on the transport. It was going to be a long day, and it was still all above his paygrade, like this whole time with the Inquisition had been so far.

At that point in the conversation between the two(if it could even be called such a civil thing!), Adrianne was giving Catherine an utmost dangerous scowl, the type of glare that only someone who dabbled with the very powers of the great enemy itself could ever conjure! Glaring at her with her violet eyes, Catherine might almost notice a very real spark of purple warp energy that jumped from the edge of Adrianne's eye before dissipating!

"I... am so... done with you!" Adrianne sneered as she clenched her fists as she glared back at Catherine.

It was at that point everyone still in the living room could hear a loud *THUNK* as the breadbox somehow fell off the kitchen counter, rolled through the air, and hit Catherine square in the back of the head with an audible bang, causing the guardswoman to fall face first down into the ground next to a fuming Adrianne; said breadbox landing on the ground not far from her.

Adrianne took a deep breath, eventually looking down at Catherine.¨

"Ohh my, that that was an unfortunate accident." Adrianne said with a monotone voice that showed absolutely no sympathy whatsoever, before she looked ahead.
"Clearly your presence is corrupting the apartment. That bread has gone well over to the clutches of chaos. I will be sure to contact an exorcist who can purify this apartment after we've left."

The Psyker said, before moving one foot over Catherine and stepping over the guardswoman as she began to walk towards the exit.

"Get your gear ready and suit up, we're leaving! ... if you can even find a suit to fit in with a heretical chest like that, of course."

*

Walking out of the apartment towards the landing pad after a short detour to her room first, Adrianne would be heading towards the drop ship that had been sent there by the sisters of battle.

She did not like the Sisters of Battle very much, though that was a feeling she knew to be very mutual, she at least felt justified given her experiences with them. The thought of going to one of their headquarters on the planet did not please her too much either. It was, if anything, bound to be uncomfortable - with the off chance of becoming dangerous.

"The rest should be not too far behind." Adrianne explained as she walked up to Aviza, motioning towards the house.
"There was a slight incident at the kitchen, but one that should not be too obtrusive."

She explained with a smirk, though it was hidden behind her skull mask as she eventually turned to walk inside of the ship. Seeing Stukov, Adrianne would move up next to him and slump her butt down into the seat next to him, and at the same time, dropping a small, lead-lined pouch into his lap.

"(It's a souvenir for you. Put it on when no one's watching.)" Stukov would suddenly hear the voice of Adrianne in his mind as she sat next to her. Adrianne turned her head to him but did not speak.
"(I have an arcane theory I want to try out, and I think this will be the best opportunity!)"

Inside of the bag lay an artifact Stukov had seen earlier; one of the heretical heirlooms that they had confiscated from the burning brothel earlier, the eye talisman that Adrianne had taken with her. Even though the bag was sealed and lined with lead, Stukov could still feel as if the bag was ten times heavier than what it should have been, as the air grew thicker around him by its mere presence.

"(Don't worry, Stukov, I thought this one through! And it's an ideal first test for you too!)"

Catherine grind her teeth, trying to keep herself from going onto a rage rant at the psyker. She felt such anger towards that woman right now, she had not done anything wrong! She had always been following orders until the Imperium had forsaken her and she was left to fate. Now they had the audacity to appear and treat her like she had been a simple pest to be take down.’ Not now…’ Cath repeated in her head over and over to not jump onto the psyker’s neck right there.

Finally as the psyker left the room, Catherine couldn’t stop herself and rose her left fist in the air, bringing it down to the ground with force. She was breathing heavily and a certain anger could be seen in her eyes, though it shouldn’t be much of a surprise after being treated like that. She finally took a very deep breath, held it for a few second before she exhaled.” Well… at least that final statement from her shows, she’s feeling some inferiority… she still has room to grow… maybe.” She added with a slight smile, slowly standing up from the ground and stretching before leaving the room also.

It took her a few minutes, but she finally found the only thing she wanted… her Eldar Chainsword. She threw a look at it and noticed a certain little something something added to the handle. The trigger mechanism to activate the chains was locked with a safety device. She sighed in annoyance. They must have added it at some point after she was throw into the infiltration mission. She shrugged, before sheathing it and locking the sheath to her hip in the belt. Locked or not, it was still her one thing she really had all for herself so she was going to carry it.

Afterwards she quickly made her way over to the drop ship, cringing mentally when she saw the psyker. The guardswoman’s body took a very proud posture as she walked over her own seat.

Speaking into her com so only the pilot could hear her, Aviza gave her orders to move out. “Everyone is onboard Sister, let us depart immediately for the Ecclesiarchal Chapel. Keep both doors open on the shuttle as well.” There was a moment's pause before the pilot responded, “Affirmative Celestian Aviza, departing.” The engines of the shuttle quickly came to life with a low rumbling roar that shook the whole aircraft.

In seconds, the shuttle was airborne, now flying turbulent free towards its objective through clear blue skies. Moving to the left side of the shuttle, Aviza positioned herself so that she was as close to the left side door as possible without falling out. The thought of being pushed out of the shuttle by one of her squad mates crossed her mind, there was a small chance it could happen but whoever did such a thing would be quickly executed there on the spot. Aviza could most likely survive the fall into the water and the impact but sinking into the depths below would follow shortly after. "Who knows what is down there in that water." she thought to herself.

Turning to her squad, Aviza gave some quick orders. “When we arrive I want all of you to keep your eyes to yourself, do not touch anything, and stay close to myself and Solares. We will be heading to meet Andromedai then leaving directly after. This is not a tour, so follow the rules and do as I say so everything will run smoothly.”

Leaning to the left, Aviza glanced out of the shuttle and into the distance. Not far from where they were was the Ecclesiarchal Chapel, which looked more like a small town than anything else.

Unbuckling her seatbelt, Aviza stood up and grabbed onto the metal bar above her as the seawater below their feet once more turned to metal and concrete.

The shuttle quickly dived and lost altitude before flying thirty feet above the ground, almost hitting a large statue of a Living Saint. Below them the city was alive with activity from not only the Sisters of Battle but also multiple other military units from the Imperium of Man.

“Left side Pilot, slow it down to mark three and get me near the chapel.” The pilot did as she was told without a word. The aircraft slowed down quite a bit before Aviza stepped out the side of the open door and vanished. A moment later, the aircraft increased its speed and gained altitude once more. The pilot remained silent, not saying a word as to why Aviza had leaped out of the aircraft or where she was going.

“ETA in ten seconds everyone, prepare to dismount.” The shuttle quickly touched down upon a large landing pad near the rear of a massive building that matched the surrounding architecture. Solares appeared from the front of the shuttle, she had been riding co-pilot while idly messing with a data-pad. Both the pilot and Solares swiftly removed themselves from the aircraft. A four man squad appeared from a large metallic door that lead into the heart of the building and quickly stood at attention awaiting the rest of the squad to leave the shuttle.

Turning to face everyone in the squad Solares spoke in a cold tone of voice. “There has been a change of plans everyone. Celestian Aviza will be joining us in a moment. As for now, please follow me and remember what Celestian Aviza said on the trip over, follow the rules and all will be fine.” As Solares spoke, the Celestians took their positions on either side of the squad, forcing them to walk in a line behind Solares. The medic's whole demeanor had seemingly changed for the worst. One of the Celestians started to talk into her com, the squad would hear it but it would be very diffacult to understand what was being said. “Affirmative Andromedai, we are currently on our way, stand by.”

Stepping out of the shuttle, Adrianne would be maintaining somewhat of a regal posture, with her chest and head held high as she stepped down the ramp in a series of metallic clanks. Stepping onto the concrete, with her staff in one hand and her psyber raven situated atop of her shoulder, Adrianne would appear seemingly absent-minded as she surveyed their new surroundings.

Indeed, she hardly paid much attention to Sister Solares as she went through the rather mundane and uninteresting details of the place.

Instead, Adrianne's attention seemed to have become fixed upon a nearby armored Immolator class armored personnel carrier that was currently undergoing what seemed like maintenance by a crew of two sisters and a servitor.

"Stand by, team, and make sure Solares is not up to any funny business. I'm just going to check this out." Adrianne said over her coms to the rest of her team as she casually walked over to the two sisters currently working on the maintenance job.

Taking advantage of the fact that none of them had noticed her, Adrianne would walk up to the closest one of them who was currently bent over, head halfway into the machine compartment. The sister in question was wearing little other than their typical under armor jumpsuit, which especially failed to hide much from the angle Adrianne was standing from. Gazing about at something other than the busy sister's wriggling butt, the Psyker would refrain from saying anything to begin with, and instead study the vehicle, as well as the twin linked flamers on top of it.

Taking a moment to just stare at it, Adrianne would finally, and without warning, address the sister.

"So, who's ingenious idea was it to strap two flamers to a tank?"
"What the *CLUNK*!"

Adrianne smirked under her helmet as her sudden question caused the sister to bash the back of her head up against the ceiling of the engine, before she finally managed to pull herself out and look at Adrianne.

"Who are-"

"I'm just saying, it seems if anything... a little extreme, wouldn't you agree?" Adrianne continued regardless, motioning towards the turrets.
"You really have to love fire if you'd truly switch out a practical, main weapon for such a niche approach!"

‘ Heh…. I probably know more about rules and code of conduct than the psyker woman.’ A brief thought ran though Catherine’s mind as they were given the rundown by the sister of battle with them on the shuttle. Not that it mattered any really, the guardswoman was just going to follow quiet and give the info she gathered. If all went well, she would be as far away from this place as soon as that was over with. She may be able to use the chance provided by their inquisitor’s absence to leave. Still there was a nagging sensation in the deepest parts of her mind that her plans wouldn’t go as planned.

When they landed, she watched Adrianne go nearby where there were some personnel fixing a Immolator class armored personnel carrier. The guardswoman cringed as she heard what Adrianne said to the women who were working on the armored vehicle.’ Seriously?’ She thought, wondering exactly when someone would finally put that annoying woman down.

“Flamers are a perfect way to sow the seed of fear into your enemies’ hearts. Plus fire is especially useful in purging any and all kinds of infestation and corruption. After all, nothing living is left in a wake of a tidal wave of fire, Prime Adrianne Valenthin, Revered Mystic of The Holy Order of the Emperor's Inquisition.” Cath said, looking at Adrianne.

Adrianne would quirk an eyebrow as she heard the voice of the guardswoman from behind her, before she glanced behind at Catherine with one suspicious, violet eye.

"Sounds like something umremittent heavy bolter fire and awesome psychic power could do just as fine - without getting yourself into range of the foe's closer anti vehicle weaponry." Adrianne said in return as she turned around to give Catherine a slight glare, curious as to why exactly the guardswoman had gone out of her way to try to "correct" her.

Tilting her head slightly, Adrianne would eventually produce a slight smirk as she eyed Catherine(ignoring the weird looks she was receiving from the two maintenance crew behind her).

"But... then again, you have taught me through your own demonstration of martial capability that the day I turn to you for tactical advice; such would surely be a day of the utmost dire and mad desperation. I'll remember to ask you when I want to have my ass kicked."

Adrianne concluded, with a triumphant smirk on her lips when she finished the last sentence as she eyed Catherine, remembering full well the beating she had so effortlessly given to the guardswoman back at the mansion.

"First of all, not everyone uses psychic powers and bolter fire won't scorch the earth. There are many cases where scorched earth campaigns are a preffered tactic. Additionally combat with swarming enemies often turn into a close quorter fighting. Withing close distance bolters and most other projectile weapons get progressively harder to use." The guardswoman stated, not realling minding the way Adrianne seemed to have felt that she was getting the better of her in arguments.

"Sure, sure... well at least I didn't fell on my bum twice... I'm pretty sure I heard the rooftiles crack back then." She shurgged without a hint of smile." Well I frankly consider myself not have lost to you really. I lost to the euphorians... and a big stone pillar." The guardswoman stated and now smiled confidently." I mean the flying Euphorian that hit me, broke one of my arms, some ribs, internal bleeding... Not to mention teh concussion from the sandwich of me between a big armored euphorian and a stone pillar. And in that condition you couldn't even deliver a killing blow or really wound me properly until I fell from my own injuries... so yeah, I'd say do listen to my tactical advice." She stated, looking full serious right now.

Adrianne would squint with one eye as she glared back at Catherine whilst listening to her unbearable rabble!

"I've grown tired of your insolence!"

Deciding that enough was enough, she would whip up her left hand and hold her half open fist towards Catherine! However, as opposed to Catherine suddenly gasping for breath as invisible forces should have assailed her windpipe, nothing happened instead!

If anything, all that ensued was an awkward silence as Adrianne merely gestured with her hand towards Catherine's throat, before the Psyker finally glanced down at her hand, then back up at Catherine; a brief moment of surprise passing across her face before she quickly scowled once more!

With the force choke clearly not an option anymore, Adrianne reformed her hand into an accusing finger as she pointed it at Catherine, stepping closer to her!

"At least I didn't end up under some Euphorian's fat ass - only to subsequently break most of the bones in my body!" Adrianne quickly sneered, her face going dangerously close to Catherine's own.
"And I'll have you know, that flying Euphorian? My work! I know how to use my environment! Unlike you, I can think outside of the box! But, sure, not like I'd ever expect an ex guardsman to ever know anything more complex than simply to "charge-on-ahead" and be a hero for max five seconds!"

Stukov felt how heavy the bag felt, glancing at Smiles in a half disbelieving manner. Really, flying into the heart of the zealous, and she was palming this thing off on him? He rolled his eyes, nodding and secreting it into a pocket so no one saw it. Once they landed, he would lag behind a few moments and deal with the stupid thing. Sure enough, after touching down, everyone was quick to disembark, and Stukov took a moment, making sure the pilot, or anyone else, was looking before slipping the likely infernal thing around his neck. He hid it under his shirt, armor, and coat, which left the thing feeling rather uncomfortably close to his chest and beating heart. It felt unusually warm, like it was freshly plucked from the burning building, and that unsettled him.

Stukov followed after the, albeit now arguing, women while Sis ran off with her sisters. Great, don't cause trouble, she said. Runs off to play bump and grind with her dear sisters, she does. The former armsman pinched the brow of his nose while the two bickered on about, well, Emperor knows what right now. So, with a quiet sigh, he stepped forward to get to hear 'SHUT UP STUKOV' in stereo, again. "Could you two not argue in front of the Sisters? Mostly for our own sanity rather than their well being..." Stukov fully expected to get told to shut up, it was how things seemed to be going lately. Getting told off or told to shut up. It was getting rather irritating, really, but it wasn't like he had much to do in return for it, not yet. Just they wait, he would have his laugh soon enough.

The voice of one Celestian came through the speaker’s insider of Solares’s helmet. “Sister Solares, both the Psycher and Guardsman have left the group. They have wandered off into an active repair bay, what would you have us do?” Quickly turning around, Solares shook her head at what she saw. “Those two are fighting with each other again? Go forcefully retrieve them and escort them to Andromedai’s chamber. You are allowed to use any means necessary, I am done with their idiotic and immature behavior.” Without anything else being said, two Celestians quickly broke off from the group and perused both Adrianne and Catherine.

Once they arrived, each Celestian would walk behind said member of the group and grab onto the collars of their armor. “Do not fall behind Guardsman, we do not want to keep Andromedai waiting any longer.” The Celestian that was with Adrainne was quite a bit more aggressive, “Consider yourself lucky that you did not use any of your powers, you would have had many unwanted eyes upon you.” Both of the Celestians glanced over at Stukov, not needing to say anything since he had undoubtedly heard what they had said. "You as well Armsman, stay close and follow us." The two Celestians then pulled roughly upon Adrianne and Catherine, half dragging them in the right direction towards Solares.

Once they had been dragged to the side entrance of the landing platform that lead into the chapel, Solares shook her head at them, not at all pleased with their actions."I hate having to repeat myself, stay by my side until we arrive at the meeting, this is the last time I will tell you." The Celestions quickly let go of Adrainne and Catherine before they returned to their original positions. The side entrance for the chapel consisted of two massive metal doors that were covered in intricate designs and patterns that represented the glory of the Imperium of Man.

Walking up to the massive doors, they opened automatically by themselves, letting out a cold breeze that carried the heavy scent of incense along with it. Once everyone was inside, the doors shut behind them and the sound of an organ could be heard coming from all around them. The music it produced was dark and heavy, but enjoyable at the same time. If one were to look around to try and pinpoint where the music was coming from, they would ultimately be unable to discover its location, it just simply seemed to exist.

“So that’s it?” Cath asked, when she noticed Adrianne’s gestures, obvious what she wanted to do. The guardswoman raised an eyebrow in a pleasant surprise when she realized the powers of the psyker were really sealed.

“Are you sure starting this is a good idea?” She asked Adrianne when the psyker got really close to her, faces almost touching. She was in her full right to retaliate against Adrianne. Especially since she had witnesses about the psyker’s attempted attack. The mechanics around them were more than enough. She was just about to headbut the warp out of the annoying woman when the armsman appeared.” You again… she started it, you know.” The guardswoman replied to Stukov.

“We were just talking with the nice mechanics!” Catherine said in an excuse though she didn’t really care much.” Also, respected Celestian, she did try to use her powers to attack me. The mechanics should be more than enough to testify for the obvious gestures and movements, that she did in attempt to activate her powers to choke me.” The guardswoman stated with a smile, throwing a glance at the psyker.

While they followed Solares, Catherine threw a look to Adrianne, saying ‘ We will be settling this soon, unless you are afraid.’ She, kept her gaze just a little while longer, waiting the reply from the psyker.

Adrianne glowered back at the guardswoman as they were dragged all the way over to the Sister chapel, eying her with a look that could only promise the inevitable whoop-ass that would surely come to Catherine as soon as the first moment of opportunity presented itself!

"Ha-ha-ha... " Adrianne laughed mockingly as she looked over at Catherine with a perilous glare as she spoke of her attempted power use!
"That joke was almost as funny as your combat skills, guardswoman!"

The Psyker said with a mix of amusement, a look that was mostly overshadowed by her glare as she stared directly at Catherine with two violet eyes. If it had not been for the psychic dampening field, it wouldn't be surprising her eyes had actually been emitting two lightning beams of psychic energy that would currently be melting the guardswoman!

By the time they entered the chapel and were given their first moment of silence, Adrianne would promptly start to brush herself the moment the Celestian had let go off her.

"Pompous religious zealots! ... who's bright idea was it to arm them anyway?!"

"Afraid?" Adrianne finally stated as she turned to look at Catherine.

"Do you mean afraid of hurting that pretty little face of yours - for the second time in a row?" With a cocky smirk, Adrianne would tilt her head slightly as she gazed at Catherine, the calming music all around them as they followed closely behind their escorts seemingly not having done much to dampen Adrianne's attitude.

"You know, that could almost be an exercise I wouldn't mind repeating! And now that I know we have a member of the Mechanicum to patch you up, I won't have to hold my punches anymore!"

“We saw and heard the whole altercation between you two, Guardswoman. What we witnessed was a show of disgraceful and unacceptable behavior. You two act as if you are children, fighting over something meaningless. It would do you both well to remember where you are, save those petty grievances for later.” Solares was the one to speak this time, her patience was growing thin with Catherine and Adrianne. The massive cathedral they were now inside of was covered in priceless pieces of angelic art alongside the Adeptus Ministorums own unique architecture.

The group walked up a massive spiral staircase made out of marble until they reached the fifth floor where the council chamber resided. Out in front of the two large doors that lead into the room, Aviza stood with what appeared to be new armor, colored shades of red, gold, and black. "Took all of you long enough, let us make this quick, shall we?" Solares vanished down the stairs as Aviza pulled the massive doors open. Inside, the room looked like something straight out of the neoclassical era.

"So this is the squad that I have been hearing so much about. Everyone take a seat and we shall begin the debriefing." Andromedai wore armor similar to Aviza's but hers was decorated with medals, stripes, and badges that reflected her rank. Pulling a wooden chair from out under the large table in front of her, Aviza took a seat and motioned for the others to do the same. "You may ignore protocol and call me Andromedai for now." One of the celestians that had escorted the group to the council chamber handed over a data-pad to Andromedai who quickly started to skim through its contents.

"So I read the mission reports sent in from the last Inquisitor of your squad. Apparently, after incapacitating one of the cult leaders, mainly Nikolai, you left him inside of the mansion which shortly after exploded." Andromedai tapped the index finger of her right hand upon the wooden desk in front of her, that being the only sound along with the buildings air conditioning unit working overtime. She looked directly at Aviza then to the rest of the squad. "Did anyone get any information from the mansion or did we just blow up a mansion and kill a lot of Slaanesh cultists?"

Catherine didn't really reply anything to the sister that was mentioning how they observed hers and Adrianne's confrontation. She didn't really find it needed to give any reply to it. She wasn't wrong in her dislike of the psyker which probably meant the psyker wasn't also wrong in her displike of hte guardswoman. This seemed to be one of those point of view things, Catherine thought. She was going to find a way to repay to that annoying woman one way or another. This SoB base presented the perfect opportunity for that. Just needed to wait for hte proper chance.

She followed the Sister of battle quietly after that, simply waiting to meet their leader that was going to lead them to their next inquisitor to serve. It was going to be interesting to see who's going to lead them from now on. Was it gona be a woman or a man? Which of the inquisitor types and so on.

Eventually they saw Andromedai who seemed nice enough at first glance. Taking the order to take a seat, the guardswoman quickly complied and took position on one of hte chairs, waiting for whatever was going to happen.

As she expected it was about the blown up mansion, heh that was going to be interresting if nothing else. She listened to the Sister aask the question, before quickly throwing a look to the rest of the group she arrived with and looked back at Andromedai.

"According to my initial orders to infiltrate the cult, I've been gathering information for months." Catherine explained, suddenly pressing really hard against the right side of her jaw. An audible crunchining sound could be heard as she spit out what appeared to be a metal tooth." All the information is inside this. Photos of documents, faces, people, maps, anything really that could be potentionally of help. Inside it are details of another cult base on the planet, an underground one. Information about another planet in the system where chaos forces are gathering alongside another Chaos cult and information about an impending attack from Chaos forces somewhere in the system."

"According to my initial orders to infiltrate the cult, I've been gathering information for months."

"Yes, she has." Adrianne backed up Catherine's statement as she cocked her head in the direction of the guardswoman as she looked at Andromedai, before passing a cocky smirk over at Catherine.
"And believe me, she has gone very in-depth too, and aquired a whole lot of information about the inside."

Adrianne said with a snide tone, the only thing missing being her fingers to make air quotation marks. Turning back to Andromedai, Adrianne, having slumped down into one of the chairs and was currently leaning back; folding her fingers together and leaving her staff to rest idly by on the table.

"We did blow up the cultist base. However, we mainly only killed some of their henchmen. Most of the important Slaaneshi cultists escaped through an underground tunnel prior to the bombardment." Adrianne said as she folded her arms, staring back at Andromedai with a bit of a bored look.

"My Psyber-Raven did get some face scans of some of them, so their survival might actually be beneficial, as if we follow their persons, they might run back to their fellow accomplices and give us further information of the heretical networks currently spanning this planet."

To her, the meeting felt like a waste of time, visible through a frown on her face.
From Adrianne's experience, asking the Sisters of Battle for aid against such an insideous threat was almost a complete waste of time. The only time you ever asked the Sisters of Battle for anything was if you needed a planet firebombed on a global scale.

Anything less extreme than that was simply too complex for the Sisters of Battle to ever understand!

And criticising the Sisters of Battle in hopes that they would improve? That would be an even more stupid idea!

"It would do you very well to think before you speak Psycher, you are treading on very thin ice right now. Moving on though, show those face scans to Aviza, she will get them uploaded into the database to see if they are known citizens. Hopefully that will prove to be very good place to start eliminating these heretics upon the planet." Andromedai glanced at Adrainne and blinked slowly, noticing her frown but not commenting on it.

“Well done Guardswoman, we will have the information from the tooth extracted shortly.” One of the Celestians alongside Andromedai pulled out a cloth from a pocket on her armor and picked up the metal tooth before quickly leaving the room to gather said information.

Moving her chair closer to the desk in front of her, Andromedai leaned back and crossed her arms over her chest. “If there is going to be an attack upon this world from Chaos forces, we will need to prepare immediately. Both planetary and ground defenses need to be established and the Space Marine chapter that is in our local cluster needs to be informed as well. Any help we can get from any source is welcomed.”

From outside the door to the meeting room, the sound of heavy plated footsteps could be heard heading through the chapel. Quickly pushing her chair back from the desk, she stood up just as the Celestian she had sent away to extract the information from the tooth, reappeared by tossing the doors to the meeting room open.

“My apologies for the interruption Andromedai but Artorius, The Ordo Hereticus Inquisitor has arrived, along with a squad of Gray Knights. I think they both arrived on the same shuttle.” Andromedai nodded her head in acknowledgement before pulling out her data pad and quickly swiping her hand across its surface. “The Psi-Inhibitor is no longer activated, so none of you warp users try anything.”

Andromedai checked over her uniform before Artorius entered. The first thing that went through Aviza’s mind was, “She is a female Inquisitor.” The woman stood at quite a height, wearing black leather robes that were heavily decorated. Below them was a set of highly exotic looking carbon power armor, much slimmer than the other suits of armor that other elite soldiers wore.

“Welcome Inquisitor Artorius, I am unsure if you have been informed of the situation at hand but we are on the brink of a Chaos invasion upon this world if this guardswoman’s information is correct.” Andromedai motioned with her left hand at Azia, Adrianne, Catherine, Stukov and the others.

“This is my squad?” she asked, walking around them slowly, her heavy boots making a metallic sound every time they landed upon the ground below. “Yes, these are very capable and faithful members of the Imperium of man.” The inquisitor remained silent, studying each one of them closely.

“I was informed you arrived with Gray Knights as well, will they be assisting us with our fight against the forces of Chaos?” asked Andormedai, the Inquisitor merely nodded her head.

The Inquisitor walked over to Stukov and stood in front of him, staring at the new Psyker, narrowing her one unaugmented eye at him before walking back to the door that lead out into the main entry way of the cathedral. “Retinue, meet me outside of the chapel as soon as possible, further orders will be given there. If you have never seen a Chaos invasion first hand, you will soon enough.”

The door shut behind with gently before Andromedai spoke, “Remember this, the Inquisition merely performs the duty of its office. To further fear them is redundant, to hate them, heretical. Those more sensible will place responsibility with those who forced their hands. Now leave my office, I will join all of you shortly.”
