Anisim listened carefully, "what you seek is information that must be measured exactly to get the right results." And we had to work together as a team on this mission, so it was likely something that we couldn't find or properly measure on our own. Measure... Measure, weigh, determine worth and/or veracity... Anisim puzzeled things through in his head, though he for now he kept his thoughts to himself. If the brat next to him wanted to try and play lone ranger, Anisim had no issue with putting the kid where he belonged, the waste bin. If wasn't going to be any use to the team, then ... what team, is that what we need find? It was something that needed to be decided regardless.

Blue, thank you for starting. I am Isa, and we all have a decision to make. If we are to function as a team, we must choose a leader or we will never be anything more than a mob. I have no experience leading, I do not want to lead, but if no one else will, I'll get the job done. Simply because it has to be done, and I'm familiar with doing what has to be done. I am through and through a hunter, even my animal reflects this...

I shift partially, I didn't yet realize that I had nearly mastered my shifting. Why? Because it had to be done, and the longer I took to get out, the more my sisters had to endure. I wasn't wasting any time. My head changes entirely, into the head of a white tiger, with pale blue eyes, my other visible skin becomes covered in striped fur, and I flex one hand extending well maintained claws on the tips my stubby fingers, my hands looking like something between a paw and a hand. Having made my point, I shift back into human form, and wait for the others to reactions and propositions.

Roxy leaned against the wall watching the two boys leave without comment. The team had already lost points and they hadn't even started. She had a feeling that this wasn't going to go well at all. "Vlad is abit of a drama queen. He likes to make things as challenging as he can. Nothing is straightforward with him. Whatever your first thought is about the answer to his 'riddle' dismiss it. This is a science lab. Things are being measured everywhere. Hell we're being measured. The answer is going to be something that isn't obvious until we figure it out."

Dallas "Blue" Clarke

Dallas smirked. "It's no problem, Isa. After all, a "team" needs to be able to communicate with one another, no?" She paused for a moment, listening to the rest of his commentary and watching his shift. His skin turned to beautiful white fur, and his eyes were now like ice. "Well done," she said. There was nothing else to comment, really. All of them knew that they could turn into animals now. DNA of certain animals had been forced into their veins. Dallas couldn't control her shifting in it's entirety, at least not yet. But, she did remember the outrages in the cage in which the guards would come and try to stick more needles into her arms against her will. "If there's no objections, I could lead. I've done it once or twice before and my animal, a grey wolf you see, sort of might help with that in a way. That is unless our captors pet begs to differ."

Isa : Anisim Miloslav

I lay a hand gently on blues shoulder and speak calmly and quietly, my voice not carrying clearly beyond the table. We were already off to a bad start, and if she wasn't careful with her words it could get much worse, very fast. You should not antagonize her needlessly Blue. It just makes this mission even more difficult than it already is, and we don't need the extra complications. If you're going to lead this team, you'll need the respect of every teammate and it's hard enough to earn respect under normal conditions. Turning to address the group still with us, and projecting my voice to carry through the room clearly without having to shout, I try to patch the damage the cowards words had done to our interpersonal relations. None of us were here because we wanted to be here, instead most of us were avoiding some other fate, and I was here by fate. Though why fate had cast me here I couldn't yet fathom. I can't say that I trust any of you with my life, but I do trust each and everyone of you to do your part and pull your own weight. I look towards the girl announced as pet, and ask politely. What may we call you miss?

Roxy rolled her eyes. A criminal with manners imagine that. "My name is Roxy Black. I don't care who leads. As long as we accomplish the goal it doesn't matter to me. But you should know that we are already behind on the group points." She told them. She doubted that anyone of them were going to enjoy Vlad's little game. He liked to push them to see what they were made of. He didn't care if they succeeded or failed he just wanted his data.

Eddie was laying in his room staring into the ceiling. "sigh, so bored. I wonder when the next clue is going to be given. Vlad need's to hurry up". Eddie started drifting off and was remembering his childhood. He started dreaming of a particular memory where he was playing in the sand when one of the older kids stood in front of Eddie. Suddenly, a fist started coming his way. "Ahh!", Eddie jerked as he came back from the dream. "Ugh, what an unpleasant dream", Eddie sat up on the bed, "So bored, I should have stayed with the group" Eddie shivered a little, "why is it always so cold in here?"

I fully expect to fail this mission, he seems to take no pleasure in our success. Blue, do you have anything for us, objectives, orders, etc.? I deliberately ignore the eye roll, sure manners might not be terribly common amongst criminals, but I wasn't actually a criminal, not yet, for now the worst that I could claim to be is an illegal immigrant, since the paperwork never got finished due to this mess being started. I look to Blue, the only one showing any interest in being a leader so far and hope that she will be able to compensate us some of our lost points. Not that Vlad would give her many chances to do so, but that was the hand we'd been dealt. I also wondered what my fellow Russian was thinking in all of this, he hadn't said much since he explained Vlad's little rant earlier.

"Ugh..." Jacob was getting restless. This Vlad guy better get his act together and give the next clue already. He went over to his hoodie and looked at the knife he had sneaked into this place. No. Don't even think about it. Just put it back. Cm'on, this whole thing is going okay so far. It's almost better than being on the streets. He walked back over to the opposite wall, letting himself fall to the ground. He sat there once again.
"Alright, let's get this show on the road." he muttered to himself. After waiting for about thirty minutes, he decided to rejoin the group. If they were still in the cafeteria, of course. He almost walked out, but something in his thoughts made him stop. Jacob turned back around and looked at the hoodie again.
"You know what, screw it." He picked up the hoodie and put it back on, then changed back into his cargo shorts. "I'm wearing these, and I don't care what anybody thinks or says. If they have a problem with it, then screw them. These are my clothes that I always wear. And I intend to keep wearing them." He kept the knife in his hoodie pocket, but he had no intentions of using it for what he was going to earlier. He kept it simply so that the leaders of this place wouldn't find it. Plus, this way he was prepared if anything shady happened. He walked towards the cell door again, and went through this time.
"Changed your mind?" he said intimidatingly, gesturing at his clothes. "Well don't change yours again, or I'm gonna change mine. And I think you'd probably like to keep this hoodie, so I would suggest keeping it on!"
"Yah, whatever dude. I'll keep it on." he replied. He walked back towards the cafeteria and stopped right before the door. Let's see what they have to say. After a quick reassurance to himself, he walked in.

Dallas "Blue" Clarke

Blue shied away from Isa's touch. Touchy-feely stuff wasn't exactly something that she did. At all, really. "Roxy... Nice name, darling." Hearing Isa's question she would take a brief moment to think. Vlad looked at them as experiments, and, in order to survive, they had to give him what he wanted, well, at least to a certain extent. "A plan's what we need. Your objectives, listen to Vlad and do what is required of us here," her voice was low, just to where her so called "team mates" could hear her. "We should give it a couple of days, see where this is going to lead us. Vlads so called plans, I mean. Once we see how everything works around here, then we can find Vlad's weaknesses. Get out of here, maybe."

I pull my hand back from Blue's shoulder, noting her dislike of personal contact. I nod in acknowledgment of her objectives, and keep a neutral face at the mention of a possible escape attempt. It could be done, but we'd have to be very careful. I notice our weakest link return, and restrain the urge to snarl at him. The poor fool was probably just to frightened to do his job properly. Still, I certainly won't be sticking my neck out for the boy. It might be beneficial to go ahead and drop the boy so he wouldn't have to worry about adjusting to his incompetence later... No, that would surely cost the team even more points and the guards would probably stop me from getting a clean kill to boot, which would just make matters even worse. Interesting how the boy's life was so callously measured, found wanting, and dismissed. There's a thought... I look back to Blue, and then to each other person in the room. I wave the littlest of us back over to the table, and ask the room in general, cutting my voice so that it wouldn't carry beyond the table.

Perhaps we are to find the measure of ourselves, as a team... that would certainly leave us with far more ways to fail than win. That still leaves the question: How exactly does he want us to find our measure?

"You will not get a second clue if you aren't going to act on the first. You are wasting time waiting for one."Vlad announced over the intercom.

"Sigh, great".
Eddie stood up from his bed and started walking towards the mess hall. Upon entering the room he saw the group was still there.
"Guess I was wrong", Eddie addressed the group. "So, any suggestions?"

It was somewhat bittersweet for Eddie. he now had something to do but what that was he had no clue.

*Lucifer is watching from the shadows his hoodie covering his face he is assessing the situation and the characteristics of each individual remaing quiet as he flexes a hand in his pocket that now has claws in place of finger nails*

Isa gave the nearest speaker a finger, he hadn't been waiting, he'd been working, and gotten quite a bit done or being surrounded by a group of complete strangers. He looked around the room, measuring the guards one at a time, and debating causing a scene by taking a few out of the picture. Measured... "What you seek is information that must be measured exactly to get the right results." Wait, we were supposed to be seeking information, and we couldn't do that by sitting around talking amongst ourselves, unless one of us held the answer to the riddle, and didn't know it.

We seek information that must be measured exactly, only then will we achieve success. Well, let's start looking for information then. Should we pair off? Survival rate increases dramatically with a second to watch one's back, at least it does in the wilds, not sure if it does anything here...

*Lucifer hears the suggestion and ponders it his claws becoming finger nails once more as he does so. He walks out of the shadows and over to the group silently his hoodie covering his face except for his mouth allowing for him to asses them without them fully assessing him*

Dallas watched the figure walk over to the table, all while thinking about what was currently being said. "You're here to join us," she asked the cloaked person before turning back to the rest of the group. "I didn't know that we already had a hint. Is there something in the food, something in like.. the cage's they're keeping us in. Vlads injecting us with this DNA bullshit, so I mean, we already know were his experiments. I wish he'd just put us in the damned training field already..."

*Lucifer looks at Dallas and sighs* "If we cannot think together and go through a mission together how can we be expected to fight together?" *His voice is a bit deeper then what one would expect and his tone is almost condescending* "being in a team isn't just about fighting its about being able to work together" *small sigh*

Isa gave the newcomer a glance, and listened to his words and recognized the truth and the futility of the tone and body language that accompanied them. His voice dripping with sarcasm, he rebuffed the boy.

Thank you captain obvious.

I look to Blue, and remind her that the first "hint" had been the riddle Vlad had thrown at us.

The first hint was the riddle: What you seek is information that must be measured exactly to get the right results. Not that it actually qualifies as a hint in most dictionaries, but I doubt our dear Vlad cares about that.

*Lucifer gives a sarcastic salute his fingerless gloves a black leather to match the rest of his dark clothing then tilts his head his hand going back into his pocket* "well if you think about it Vlad is a scientist so he is probably thinking in terms of science.... many experiments require precise information in order to get results so maybe we are looking for a scientific tool" *He gives a shrug really only contributing so much because he knows there is a time limit and he'd rather not get punished*

Roxy shook her head. "You aren't thinking like Vlad. He wouldn't be obvious about this. It isn't going to be something to do with our experiment or science. That would be too easy. We have to think of something less obvious." She didn't know the answer but she knew Vlad. She had been watching and studying him. He liked puzzles. He liked being in control. He loved data. That was what this challenge was about seeing if they could work together when they didn't trust one another.
