Loud winds are able to be heard and there is a metallic banging in the background. "I guess this is it....... I'm out of food.....out of water.....out of time. I hear it outside, the whirling winds of The Wastes, and it's banging at the door. I don't know how much longer the door can hold out before it buckles to the Beast. It had gotten to Bucky and now it's about to get me. I warned him so many fucking times about this place and he just went in anyway, now he's dead. If you find this, I'm probably dead.......or worse." A loud crash and roar is heard. "It's here, this is it...." The recording cuts out abruptly.

*STATIC NOISES* "-re. Damn thing cut out, let me try that again." *SOUNDS OF THROAT CLEARING* "OK. I am standing in the centre of a crater. The area around it is dead and burnt. But inside the crater there seems to be some kind of moss and foliage. Never in my life have I ever seen or heard about this kind of thing, it's bright green and glowing. This right here is a great story to tell, when I get back nobody is gonna belive this when I get home."

Day 13:

I found a cave today, or maybe it was an old mine? Either way, there was a lake at the bottom, so I now have a good source of water. That is, of course, assuming that there isn't anything in it. I swear I heard scratching, but I couldn't find anything, despite watching it for an hour. Maybe a lizard or some rats got down here and were trying to escape?

Either way, I think the stress and the lack of someone to talk to is starting to effect me. I thought I saw a dog on the surface, but when I reached where I saw it it wasn't there, nor were its tracks. I must have scared it away. It hasn't seen a human before, and didn't know that I just wanted to try and train it.

Whatever. This looks like a good place to start my village, anyway. Maybe gather some supplies from that old town over there? I guess I should head there tomorrow.

The recording stars with the foundling of the recorder and a am accidental rub of the microphone. "Today I found a dead dog. It made me sad thinking about how scared it must have felt or weak it must have been. It reminded me of myself in a way. The twisted and lifeless body represents how I feel inside you could say. I decided I would keep a memory of it. I brought a camera along with this recorder to document my findings for anyone who finds this. I saw a person earlier today. They waved to me, or at least I thought they did. It turned out to be just a skeletal arm in the wind. I'm staying in an old metal shack in the middle of some scorched trees. It's run down but it's the closest thing I have to call home for the time being. It hasn't been easy with Jerry being gone. I think I'll go inside without interaction of some sort of living interaction. I question myself when I think about why I'm here. the message ends with click from the button.

Day 6

Click of recording button, distinctive woman's English voice on recording.

"Personal Entry log at Three twenty eight A.M."

*Deep breath*

"I've walked through most of the night, the full moon was bright enough. It should have closed the gap between us, by their tracks they seem to be slowing down- there are more frequent signs of stopping and dropping of their gear. They could be overloaded or burning their energy too quickly but it's too soon to tell. Sol's scouted three clicks to the east, I'm waiting for his signal before I progress any further."

The sound of shifting small rocks and clothing

"I've dug out down inside a small ditch on the top of the ravine, it's providing a good view of the road below, should these fuckers double back I'll be able to scope sight them a few miles off. I think I'm pretty well hidden and I'm friggen cold here so I might try and catch some shuteye while I can...... Client report tomorrow."

*wispering* "I'm scared... I think don't think it can see me... or smell me. I'm pretty sure it blind from the glossy tint of its eyes. What ever 'it' is it's big, real big. I'm afraid of being it's lunch soon. It's obviously not friendly to humans considering it tried to kill me."

It's silent except what sounds like gravel being crawled across and clothing rubbing the microphone. "It's in this old mining cave with me. *wispering* "I found a detonation charge and receiver, I'm gonna try and blow the opening and trap it in here. I can see light around the corner, hopefully it's the exit. I'd like to leave before I get to 'comfortable' with the beast. Lord knows what it will do to me. Wish me luck."

The recording ends with a low *eeee* as she set the charge on the cave opening and a screech from the beast who had found her and began to approach.

Day 7

"Vera R. Client Entry Log at Six forty P.M - Current position -Unnamed Road - Latitude: North 49.253. Longitude: East 7.767."

"Solovyov doubled back to my current position. Intel gathered suggests one party member is injured suspected broken leg. They will not be able to cross the mud flats with such injuries and expect them to return through the canyons. After discussion best course of action will be to sit tight and wait. No physical evidence that they have the package but it is safe to assume they still have it"

"I'm taking first watch. It's hauntingly quiet out. So much more comforting than back at the encampment. When I'm out here everything is heightened- sight, smell, hearing.... touch. I love the way it makes me feel out here."

"Sol seems still a little distant, I guess what happened the other night is still playing on his mind. We haven't really brought it up, this hunt has kept busy. Dunno... Nothing's changed for me. Probably should just give the old guy some space."

Day 15:

That old town had some promising loot, though for some reason moving through it gave me the creeps. Damn ghost town, making me see the people that might have lived there.

I rigged a sled and brought back enough tarps, flags, and old fabric to make a good sized tent near the entrance of the mine. Had to drag it myself, though, as I don't have a pack animal. I seriously need to catch something so I can train it. Maybe then I wouldn't be so lonely.

"I killed it! I killed it! I killed the beast! I blew the charges at the perfect time and the ceiling caved in on it. I can see its arm and head. It's scaly with patches of fir along with a tuft of hair like a Mohawk from its head down it's back. Hope fully there's only one, I'd hate to run into more.

"I found some equipment in there. I got a head lamp along with a flashlight, an old sleeping bag, a backpack, a pickax, a knife, a chopping axe, and some spare riffle rounds. Turns out going into that cave was almost worth dying over. I'm gonna see if I can get anything off of the beast, I've decided to name it Charley."
