A veritable avatar of War, Skarr was lost in the combat around him. Of course he was not in the bloodrage, but what he'd refer to as the 'Battle Focus.' Where every breath, every movement, every intuition and thought was used to kill and keep himself from meeting the same fate. Salissa had left his shoulders, mines were falling around him, and his armored form was already covered in debris from the initial explosion to the main breach. But he paid no attention to it. The Krogan held the line, and drew the attention of any husk that dared face him.
He sidestepped a Husk, using the momentum of the step to enhance a quick backhanded jab with his massive fist. It punched into the husk like a shotgun shell, sending it broken and onto the floor. He'd already slammed into three more before it hit the ground. A well timed head bash, followed by a knee and an overheaded two fist strike that crumpled a Marauder. His fist shot out to grab a Husk by the waist, and he crushed it with a growl. Bullets ricocheted and pierced his armor, and claws scraped across it as well. But he'd been hurt worse.
He'd always had worse.
With a roar, he tore through two more Husks to reveal himself standing before what at first appeared to be a boulder. It was the smallest animation from the object that sent recognition and warning signals through Skarr's mind. Brute.
He backpedaled immediately, unholstering his Claymore Shotgun. Carnage enveloped him, and he unloaded a powerful shell into the thing's abdomen. It ripped a chunk of its armor off, and the Brute let out a terrifying cry. Skarr unloaded his clip of shells into the Brute as it reared up, and began to charge. He was punching into it with his shells, but despite the damage, it wasn't going down.
Skarr rolled to the side just in time, though his lower half was clipped by the monstrous charge. It sent him skidding in an unfamiliar spin onto the ground, hard. He gave an animalistic growl as he pushed to his feet as soon as he could. The Brute spun, to receive a fragmentation grenade at its own feet. Three beeps and an explosion filled it with shrapnel. It roared in frustration, and Skarr charged the beast with his Biotic Hammer, weapon raised.
There was a terrifying shattering noise as the Brute attempted to shield its head with its damaged arm. The Hammer tore through it, and the second blow caved in the Brute's Turian-like head. Skarr continued to bash into it until he knew it was no more. For what it was worth, he was glad he had joined this group. He had thought Brutes would no longer appear in the galaxy. The thrill of fighting one...
He placed a bruised and bloody hand to his forehead, calming himself down with a few labored breaths. The temporary lull in the combat helped draw his attention to the latest explosion to his left. He turned his massive head, and past the smoke and debris he saw a crawling, half-alive husk pull its way inside.
"Hmmmr?"
Skarr made his way over to the collapsed mine, seeing the fair sized and shallow hole in it. The muttering from within sounded familiar from the original briefing the companions had earlier. He peeked in, to reveal the Drell whose name he never caught kicking the Husk until its neck snapped. Placing the head of his hammer onto the small wall, he yanked and it collapsed. He reached in with an arm to offer a hand. "I don't think I've ever kicked a Husk to death." He said. "Not bad."
