All Submission PMs Must Include: Your entry (provided titles will be used as hider titles) and a list of which components you used.
● No resubmitting entries or sending in multiple entries.

● Your entry must be something made specifically for this contest, not something you've written in the past that happens to fit the components.
● Plagiarism will not be tolerated. If plagiarism is proven, you will be publicly disqualified and banned from all future WOTM contests. Fan fiction is not necessarily plagiarism and is allowed, but you must note in your entry PM that it is fan fiction and what existing piece of fiction it is based on.
● All site-wide rules (no trolling, no flaming, no spamming, etc.) apply to WOTM threads as well, and any transgressors will be reported and dealt with accordingly.

We're a third of the way through the submission period and we've got zero submissions. That's normal, but I'll bump this thread anyway.

I've had an idea for a while. Maybe I'll use it.

Let's see what I can do in ten days or so.

Just a heads-up: the final day for submissions is Sunday and there's only one entry in so far!

Here's hoping we see more before submissions close!

Due to an insufficient number of entries this month and recent lack of activity in general, WOTM is henceforth on indefinite hiatus.

We will return in the future when/if we have a situation that allows us decent visibility, as well as support and interest from the member base.

Our apologies to those of you who were looking forward to the next Voting Thread.

With three WOTM staffers, you'd think we'd be able to muster up at least enough entries to the contest to have a vote.

We've done the best we could. The interest and participation just wasn't there.

What I mean is, doing 'everything we can' would mean there should be a minimum of four entries right now, which is plenty to have a vote.

Sadly that just isn't the case. We'll do more work behind the scenes to try to improve things, but at the end of the day, there's only so much we can do to improve activity levels.

Your point is solid in terms of investment, mdk. The only catch is that if the contest kept up numbers solely from manager-submissions you wouldn't really be fixing a whole lot. There are two contests. So, even if one manager wrote a short fiction and two others did a flash, the best result would be two pairs competing directly (I'm counting that single submission received). Again, that's the ideal. With such a close knit managing crew you'd also prevent them from voting since writing style would probably be as clear as signing your name. Your idea might work if there was some visual marker for how many people had submitted, hopefully inspiring others to join the bandwagon, but even with managers providing updates as they do now there clearly isn't much of a positive result. The WOTM struggling is not the fault of the managers. We have a New Guild, new structure, and even our returning population has changed in how it views the community. Even the best manager would need time to adapt and I'd say that is probably next step for the WOTM -- adaptation. Personally, I'd prefer them to do the responsible thing and focus their attentions on ways to revitalize and restructure this idea without overcomplicating it. Doing that's a lot harder with the stress of keeping something sinking afloat. So, I guess I'm saying let's cut them some slack. Let's do our part by talking with our RP communities about this too in order to rally some interest.

Understand how frustrating this is. I put a lot of time into this month's effort, and the entry has been sitting in the WOTM inbox for a week now. That's plenty of time. Shit, there have been three chapters of spam adventures in that time. If we want to talk about adaptations I know where to start. There's two too many names at the top of this thread.

I'm being mean. Sorry. Like I said, this is frustrating for me.

I would have written something but this WOTM's theme just didn't give me any inspiration ... hopefully something will be done and the next time the WOTM Guidelines are up it will be a theme that inspires me more to write (superheros are just not my thing)...

I was going to write in this month until I saw the theme. I just wasn't inspired.
