Iolcus. A strong city, beloved by Zeus. Her people are happy, and her army is strong. The king, Aeson, was wise and just. His only child, however, is young, brash and quite the partier. Though young Jason of Iolcus has a good heart, he is not ready to become king. When Aeson becomes gravely ill, however, Jason steps up and is determined to save him. Persuing a rumor and a treasure that few others think exist, Jason takes his fathers prized ship, the Argo, and brings a crew brave enough to venture the unknown. Their quest, find the Golden Fleece.
And now we have to find the Argo's crew. Here's a character sheet.

Rules are pretty much be nice to eachother and to me. If you have an issue, PM me. Otherwise, have fun. I'll put the CS for Jason himself here later.

Description:

Name: Bellerophon

Sex: Yes please! His Gender is Male.

Age: 29

Equipment: Spear of Bellerophon(Can pierce almost anything, and as long as it stays pierced can be lifted on the spear without trouble), Battle Bow with broad head arrows, Large Steel Round shield, Belt of Giant's Strength, Full Plate cuirass, Cloak of Charisma, Tame Pegasus

Personality: Confident and courageous among men, modest and kind among women. A man of principal and a code of honor. Coming from horse breeders and horse tamers, a full family of them back to his great great grandfathers has taught him humility but still had pride. A man who would never attempt to cuckold another man, no matter how beautiful or alluring the woman is.

Bio: Son of Poseidon, Tamer of Pegasus before Perseus, slayer of the Chimera. A devout Greek who followed the gods faithfully. He prayed to Athena, Poseidon, his father, Zeus and Ares the most, but paid homage to all other gods in kind.

In his youth before his sixteenth year he tended the horses like his family had for years. But upon his sixteenth birthday he yearned for adventure. And thus he went off to seek it. Sometime during these years of wandering and personal education he stayed in the palace of a king, and there killed a man. He fled to the palace of King Proteus where he was cleared of his crimes after many days of toil. During his stay Proteus' queen fell in love with him and attempted to seduce him one day. Bellerophon, not willing to cuckold his host and friend the king, turned away the queen. She, humiliated and angry, falsely acccused Bellerophon of trying to seduce her. Which put the king in a hard position. He could not harm Bellerophon, so instead gave him a sealed note and sent the young hero to the kingdom of his father in law, King Iobates. Iobates could not kill Bellerophon either as he was a guest in his palace. So instead, Bellerophon was given his greatest deed he is known for. Killing the Chimera.

Bellerophon with sword and shield and armor, set out. Along the way, he was gifted the Golden Bridle from Athena, a spear which would come to bear his name from his father Poseidon, and combat lessons from Ares himself. And a final gift, Zues, the greatest god, called down one of the Pegasi, and with the Golden Bridle, Bellerophon tamed it, and took to the skies on it's back to defeat the Chimera.

Sometime later Bellerophon returned to Iobates, the head of the Chimera swinging from his saddle, and the winged horse as his mount. Iobates still sent Bellerophon on several more quests, to clean out brigands, pirates and ogres. Until the falsity of Proteus' queen was uncovered. And Iobates told Bellerophon of the problem that had caused all this. Iobates apologized to Bellerophon by giving him half his kingdom, and his youngest daughter to wed.

Bellerophon now roams the countryside, going on personal quests, saving town and watching over his people.

On one such day roaming he and Pegasus flew over Iolcus. And decided to set down for a brief rest in a garden of a tavern. There he heard news, that Prince Jason was putting together a crew, to sail on the Argo in search of the Golden Fleece.

What better way to seek more adventure then take to the sea alongside other legends. He took to the shore beside legends like Heracles, Acastus and Nestor. He clasped hands with Orpheus and Iolaus. And paid humble homage to Argus himself. When asked which men would sail he stepped forth, Pegasus rearing behind him, to say he would sail, and follow young Jason to the ends of the earth if need be.

Description: A short, stocky older man, still quick of eye and broad of shoulder despite his gray hair. He has especially large, calloused hands. He dresses in rich but practical clothing at all times.

Name: Argus

Sex: Male

Age: 58

Equipment: Argus' wife made him promise to carry a dory spear with him throughout the quest. In addition, he carries a few simple tools with him, used for running repairs: a heavy hammer (his preferred weapon), a small saw, a length of rope (for measurements), a small knife, and a sanding stone.

Personality: Argus is gruff and brutally honest; if he does not like you it will be no secret. As a man with a long and varied life he expects to be respected and listened to. However, if he is shown that courtesy, he will do everything he can to be useful and loyal to the group. Argus will not hesitate to endanger himself for the sake of others, nor does he hesitate to speak truth to power.

Bio: Born to a wealthy and prominent family of shipwrights (under permanent contract to the kings of Iolcus), Argus began learning the trade from the tender age of five. Engineering, mathematics, seamanship- all were skills he was expected to master as the scion of the family. And master him he did, as well as having a small taste of war while serving as a hoplite. Argus eventually came to surpass his father and grandfather in skill, becoming renowned as the best shipwright in all Greece. There were new contracts for tiremes, other warships, and soon his coffers were overflowing. He married well, trained several skilled apprentices, and began to enjoy life, taking several pleasure cruises with his wife and living in a gorgeous seaside villa. Eventually, Aeson contracted a flagship for his fleet. The project interested Argus, and he took personal charge of it. The resulting penteconter, named the Argo, was considered the finest and most advanced ship in all of Greece. Argus himself couldn't be sure, but some of the greatest innovations came to him in dreams and visions- perhaps aid from Athena. Satisfied, Argus looked on his work. This, truly, would be his legacy.

But then Aeson grew ill, and Jason called for heroes to sail upon the Argo. Argus watched, dumbstruck, as the living legends began to show up. Bellerophon, Nestor, Acastus, Telamon, Orpheus, even the godlike Heracles himself- all came, ready and eager to sail. These men had names that would live forever. Despite his wealth and fame, Argus was a mere footnote next to them. There was no glory to his name.

In a rash heartbeat, the decision was made. Argus stepped forwards, standing shoulder to shoulder with Greece's finest men, and in a steady voice put himself forwards to crew his ship. He reasoned that his finest creation wasn't going to be left with a few callow boys to be attended, its creator had best come along. But in truth, Argus wished to leave a lasting legacy. He wished to become legend.

Description:

Name: Jason of Iolcus
Sex: Male
Age: 18
Equipment:

Personality: Jason is young, but a carefree man who enjoys life and wishes only to live a good and happy life. When his father becomes sick however, he puts everything aside to try and save him. As the quest progresses, he becomes less of the fun loving boy and more of a brave soldier.

Bio: Jason, son of Aeson, is the only heir to the throne of Iolcus. Some may say that he is a pampered rich kid, but when his father suddenly falls ill, he uses this opportunity to prove himself a worthy successor.

Aeson got the greatest trainer of heroes available to train his son. Chiron the Centaur was a stern teacher, but Jason wasn't exactly a very good student. Still, Jason learned enough to not get himself killed. Not right away at least.

Hey Nobody, you can make the Description and equipment pictures actual pictures by changing the codes a little.

put the equipment URL in the "[img=]" syntax, without the quotes of course. And it will look better when we click the hider. And I think the pintrest link is dead.
