Ispep: Woah, totally missed you before. Don't worry, I intend to put something pretty dope into every category for those who are willing to put everything into something.

I imagine monk's "spirit" element to be something close to a third tier element - an element that naturally exists in a different dimension or state of existence, that cannot be naturally perceived by humans. Like, imagine a soul. You're probably envisioning a blue-ish humanoid with no features. Whatever that "soul" is made out of would be the element I would describe spirit as. That being said, I would say spirit-based-powers would largely focus on attacking someone's soul or manipulating your own soul, which would only be possible through some hippie-monk-zen-shit. Nah mean?

Just my $0.02.

EDIT: That would make monks way cooler than just storm, cuz it gives them some next-level shit. I mean, Knights control LIFE and are inherently dope with their near-exclusive role (I mean, as much as you try to say they won't be stereotypical knight-tanks, they will surely be the best to portray such a role, and it is a dope ass role anyway). Monks being able to fight with their souls makes them cool as fuck already, and ascendants are left with the ability to mold the inorganic universe. It's a freaking dope trio: Life/Organic-ness, Spirit-ness, and Physics.

I like your two cents.

I gave them the ability to form links with non-Monks, and also to bond with animals and make familiars. I can include stuff like that too.

Okay, the top tier abilities thus far are

Entomb: Command the earth to rise up to swallow your enemies.
Prerequisite: Geomancy
Elemental Requirement: 30 Earth.

Hurricane: Change weather patterns to create a full blown hurricane. The eye is formed at a targeted area, but the Monk has no control over the storm after creation.
Prerequisite: Thunder Storm
Elemental Requirement: 30 Air.

Fusion:Starts a non-sustainable fusion reaction, devastating large patches of the battlefield.
Prerequisite: Vaporize
Elemental Requirement: 25 Sun

Still need one for Void, Water and Fire. There are also balanced element abilities that require both in full equal measures, but I decided to make them not as powerful because characters using both elements have more versatility.

Perhaps Void's 'capstone' could be something to the effect of invisibility?

Of course, there are obvious paths to go with water and fire, but that would be boring.

Perhaps for water, make the Knight turn into a rush of water, gracefully slicing through enemies, while untouchable.

Not really sure about fire.

I like that route for water.

I feel like invisibility would seem a little weak, to be honest. When you put it beside the others. Plus, I gave Sun illusion powers(by manipulation of light).

Maybe a black hole? Kind of falls in line with the whole "super attack" schtick I've got going with the rest of them.

I do think that the black hole idea is a lot better.

For fire perhaps stir some form of volcanic activity around, releasing jets of fire from the earth, while creating a rugged obstacle course from the breaking ground?
Or perhaps summoning a blade of fire, that cuts through the toughest metal like a hot knife through butter?

I also feel like I need to put some other limitation on the super powered attacks. To keep us from getting them too early.

So I dunno what you guys think of this:

I kind of gave the monks a schtick where the more powerful single element attacks are completely out of their control. The idea is that they're supposed to be in balance(as per their Realm's mainstream philosophy) and a lack of balance equals a lack of control.

Sounds good to me.

I don't know if you already did/said something like this, but I'll put in my three cents. In order to prevent people from just putting 30 points into sun/fire/water, etc. And tearing apart everything, perhaps the skills could be put into Tiers. Eg. A lower level skill, in Tier 1 would just require you to be level one, but a superpower skill would be in the highest Tier, Tier [insert number here] requiring level [inset number here]. This would also make it easier to organize.
depending on how often we level, the tiers could require twice as many levels. (Ex. Tier 1= Level 1, Tier 2= Level 2, Tier 3= Level 4, Tier 4= Level 8, or it could go by a Fibonacci sequence. (Ex. Tier 1= Level 1, Tier 2= Level 2, Tier 3= Level 3, Tier 4= Level 5.)

I think I'll just add level requirements into the prerequisites for certain moves.

Before I can implement any decision, I need to decide how often we'll level up.

I think I'll be doing the OOC tomorrow.

Going to run an errand, then will come back and finish work on this.

I think I just need literal skills for Water(easy peasy, I bet) and then some non-literal skills for Fire(not as easy, but we'll see what I/we come up with).

Okay, I think the skill tree is done. Tell me if you see something that you think is a flaw or broken or over powered or underpowered. I made it from scratch, so I've been catching things like that constantly as I've been working. It wouldn't surprise me to find more.

I gave the Monks a slightly Fire skewed ability that lets them be reborn upon death. They will start out weaker than they were, but will have more inherent potential(especially with the element of Fire).

The OOC exists.
I'm going to open up right onto action with the IC, we'll be sent on a mission to the very edge of the Human Protectorate's territory.

The trees look pretty good. The only thing I think is lacking is aeromancy for the monks tree. Maybe switch that with gust?

Yeah, definitely a good idea. So that it's as versatile as all the other "mancies"
