On November 22, 1956. Warsaw Pact forces begin to move into place near West Germany's borders. NATO command expects a assault might be coming and alerts forces to be prepared. On the 24th, It happens, Warsaw Pact forces cross the border and NATO forces move in to defend. One of the elements of the defense is the Second Allied Tactical Air Force, responsible for the defense of Northern Germany, from its now wartime HQ in The Netherlands commanding the RAF Second Tactical Air Force, Royal Netherlands Air Force, Belgian Air Force, Luftwaffe Command North, and a USAF Tactical Fighter Squadron.

Arnold joined the air force at a very early age. Incredibly patriotic. He is a above average pilot, not great, but damned good. He is a pilot through and through. Feeling more at home in the air than anywhere else. He loves women, cigars, a good scotch and his country. Having proved himself time and again, he rose to rank very quickly. However, his problem with authority has prevented him from rising past the rank of Captain.

I'll get a character up tomorrow (GMT), as I'm a bit too tired right now! But I'll probably play an RAF pilot, flying a Hunter, depending on what I can find that fits the time period. If it's up to 1956, I'm presuming we can have anything that's in service up to that point?

Yeah, there were squadrons flying the F-86 variants in 1956. Also, if anyone didn't know, 2 ATAF was British led, the Commander of 2TAF(RAF Germany) was its commander. I might be a German.

I just found the Saab Lansen, and it's something I'd like to fly, but I realize there's no Swedes in the opening brief, d'oh!

Having fought late in the Second World War, John has seen a lot of action. He is now trying to twist his experience and understanding to fit the rapidly changing world post-war. With everything he saw during the war, he's saddened by the fact that more violence is to follow, and that peace was so fleeting.
Nonetheless, with a family back in the UK to look out for, he has ground down his doubts and pushed himself back into action once more, showing a strong sense of pride and professionalism in his duty.

Appearance wise, he is quite handsome and has a rogueish air. Like many men of the time, he has a pencil-thin 'Errol Flyn' moustache, and short, slicked back black hair. Otherwise, he has a fairly lanky frame with strong hands, and wide shoulders.

Description: Derrick is a relatively New Fighter Pilot, He was Born in Scotland and Moved to London before the start of WWII. During the War He witnessed the bombing of London in the blitz and suffered the loss of 2 Uncles in the Battle of Britain and His Father On the Beaches of Normandy. He was too young to Fighting During WWII With that war closing before he could Enlist.
At age 19 He decided to Enlist for the RAF completing basic and Fighter Training and at the age of 23 he asked to be transferred over to NATO with successes and Now has been flying for 2 years.

Appearances, Derrick his quite rugged And beefed up with Large muscles and broad shoulders and standing in at around 5 ft 7 ~ at first look you would put him for a Soldier not a Pilot. He has light brown hair blue eyes and a scarred lip.

To explain an eclectic squad without including a ton of NPCs with us I had the idea that perhaps we were all stationed in the same area and got taken off guard with most squadrons decimated or scattered with the remainders reformed on the fly with what was left.

Got a degree in Aeronautical Science alongside his work at the academy graduating with honors. Spending about two years patrolling the California coastline watching over those damn hippy liberals he at last was rotated out to Korea where he spent the two greatest years of his life blowing Ivan and his (RACIST EXPLETIVE DELETED) buddies out of the sky like the godless heathens they are. Of course all good things must come to an end and so the war sadly ended without him getting to bomb Pyongyang itself. He has since been rotated all the way over to Europe as an experienced pilot to aid in the training of the new formed German Air Force.
