It was a cold October morning, the exact date was unknown but she knew it was nearing November. A window was propped open in the cramped apartment room where her and her team of doctors and scientists would experiment on the undead to research more about the enemy they were faced against. The room that was once a living space now was filled with scavenged medical supplies, clipboards, bloodied tables, and weapons in case the subjects decided to jump off the tables they were bound to. The most recent test subject was a newly zombified man, his identity was unknown and was found on the streets. They tore him apart but yet again, his body provided nothing new to the table and they had to dispose of the paperweight as it was already starting to make the entire floor smell worse than before. "Dr. Byrne?" a voice said, a tall man with snow white hair and a bit of fat on his bones was what she saw when she turned to see who it was. "Ah, Roscoe, what is it that I'm needed for?" Josey asks, her eyes looking the man up and down as he spoke.

"They've already finished gathering up the team you'll be scavenging with today, they'll meet at the staircase."

She nodded and rose from her chair as she made her way down from the chair she had settled into. Heart was beating like a drum in her chest as she moved her way through the cramped spaces of the apartment building, ever since the incident at the hospital where the dead started to rise, she'd developed some claustrophobia. She always needed a way out, even if she wouldn't need it, it gave her comfort to have an escape plan. Eventually, Josey made it to the end and near the staircase where her group was going to be.

"Hello everyone, I'm Dr. Josey Byrne and I'll be joining you today."

Shoshanna peered up at the doctor that would be leading the scavenge. She wasn't quite sure how she felt about this. She had always been somewhat of a one man show, and she had learned from the uprising of the dead, that large numbers were never good. However, these people had offered her food and supplies if she joined them - something she was in dire need of. So, she supposed that she could be of assistance and mix in with others, just this once.
One of the reasons Shoshanna was so hesitant to work with others was the language barrier. While she had moved to America from Germany a good eleven years ago, her and her family often spoke German to each other and she had made friends with other German immigrants her age. Now that all of that was gone, she would have to use the little English she knew to converse with others and survive.

Eli lit up a cigarette as he stood across from the German girl. He inhaled on the cigarette as the doctor introduced herself and he started making an analysis of her. Being stuck with a doctor for a scavenge mission sounded like a drag at first but as long as she could hold her own in a fight he didn't really give a damn. "I'm Elijah Stone, but you can just call me Eli. Nice to meet you."

'dah i will be joining your scavenging group' doctor frank said as he walked towards the group 'theres a research lab not too far from here they have alot of research on these so called zombies' he said then he grabbed elis cigarette and yelled out 'smoking is bad for you idiot!' then dropped it on the floor stepping on it 'so i'm doctor frank but you can just call me doctor' he said with a german accent 'when do we get started'

It took everything in Eli had not to punch the new doctor in his jaw, Hell, normally he would. But he had just joined this group fairly recently and they kept him in good enough condition to find his little sister so he was trying to make friends and be a little less like his usual self as possible. "I know you mean well Doc but if you ever take a cigarette out of my mouth again I'm going to kneecap you." This was going to be harder than he thought. He pulled another cigarette from his pocket and lit it as he walked away from the doctor.

Shoshanna, visibly shocked by how forward the new doctor had been with the man beside her, watched as he then proceeded to distance himself from the doctor. While she could tell that this new doctor might cause some havoc, she was comforted to hear his accent. She had been worried that no one would be able to understand her, but now it seemed there was another German in the midst of the group.
Doing the best to try to cover her accent, she spoke for the first time, "When will this scavenge start? Where will we be going?"

'eli that actually turns you into a zombie don't smoke that crap' he said walking up to josey 'ah yes you see other docter theres a research lab quite near here and theres lots and lots of research and these undead scum' he said with a heavy german accent 'if we find it we may just end this'

"ahh shut up ya old hoot" he lit a pipe and pushed it in his mouth, "if your gonna be like that the Whole way there we may just kick you out" he draw his long silver bladed examined it as it went in "Doctor R of human sciences" he held out his hand "and lover of all from Vietnam backwards. and you all are?" giving the Doc a punch on the shoulder "oh and don't mind this guy, this fun loving jerry is a real hoot when he gets drunk."

'oh just what we need an annoying british guy' doctor said 'i hope the zombies maul you first' he says to the weird annoying dude

"aparently the brits have a great sense of when to get out, much like the french when you occupied them in both wars!"
