Akira felt slightly apprehensive about replying to Sayuri, space time and water techniques in addition to swordplay? How could he follow that? He gave a very slight sigh before replying with a gesture to wooden sword. "Like yourself I use blades but I know several Taijutsu techniques as well." He ran his hand to his belt and unclipped a bag of smoke smoke bombs, holding them up for her to see. "I also use tools and traps quite a lot, people often underestimate their utilities." After a little while he added on what he didn't want to admit. "I don't have an especially advanced knowledge of Genjutsu or Ninjutsu so I'm afraid I don't have any stories about new techniques I'm working on." His voice had gradually lowered in both volume and tone, he turned his head away to watch their sides and hopefully avoid the judgemental looks that he'd received so many times in the past.

As he went quiet he listened to Hiroshi and Hirudora, if there really was an ambush ahead then the group would surely be facing both superior numbers and attacks from multiple sides. Akira began to have doubts, things were not going as he had hoped they would, he was unable to shrug off the feeling that he wouldn't be able to aid the team effectively. Even the Sensei's words, which he assumed were meant to be reassuring, were likely aimed at the other two and so provided little comfort.

They were getting close, Akira gripped the hilt of his blade tightly and began to scan the surroundings. Left and right, up and down. He was determined not to let the attackers get the drop on him, he would strike first, he would prove himself to his team and his first mission would be a success. "This is what we've trained for, this is our duty." He whispered quietly, controlling his breathing and calming himself and maintaining focus.

Chinatsu Hon
Konoha Team 6

After hearing what her Sensei told Hirudora and the conversation between her two team mates she felt uneasy. If they were ambushed everything could go down hill really quickly with very little time to prepare and it could be fatal. She reached for her bow and pulled it from the sling it that attached it to her back and used her other hand to grab an arrow. In a second or two later she had her arrow knocked and prepared to fire at a moments notice. "Sayuri, do you want to put a seal on my arrows like we did last time?" Chinatsu asked. At the moment she didn't want to leave anything or anyone out so she glanced over at Akira. "Akira..." she started to say but she was having trouble coming up with a role he could play. "Akira follow Sayuri's lead and try not to get yourself killed. A dead team mate is worse than a living annoying one and it's also very inconvient," Chinatsu said.

It would look like she was still trying to be harsh towards him but in her own way she was also showing that she did care even if it was a little bit. Chinatsu looked forwards and held her bow at the ready in case she needed to attack. It was an odd feeling, she was both excited and scared for what was ahead of them. She was glad Sayuri was here and she was also sort of glad Akira had joined their team. "I am hunter.." Chinatsu told herself. It became a mantra in her head as she repeated silently to herself over and over again to ease her nerves. She was human, despite her elusive personality Chinatsu also felt nervous and uneasy when in uncertain situations.

Hiroshi Hon & Sayuri Cho
A not so dead lead, part IV

" Chinatsu! I will have none of this on my team! Be sure we will have a talk about this."

Hiroshi´s emotions were conflicted as they moved forward and forward, closer to the site of the battle that is about to take place. Chinatsu´s outburst, combined with Sayuri´s quiteness was a bad sign, and the fact that the more or less working trio was expanded by a third member was making him feel a bit uneasy. He picked this mission for a special purpose, one he will tell his team only when they succeeded. And they will succeed., Hiroshi thought for himself - he had complete faith in his team, in their abilities. Truth, he himself had no idea what their enemy is capable of. But on the other hand, neither did they know the full possibilities of Team Six. Sayuri was the first one to get uneasy by the silence that endured.

" Do not worry, Akira! I am sure that together, we can improve ourselves and ... we get to know each other better, and get along better ... right, Chinatsu?" She thought about something else to add." You being a weapon user is great - I am sure if we work in my Red Flash and your prowess with weaponry, we will be able to come up with some kick-ass techniques. And ... and maybe, we can ask Hiroshi-Sensei for ... for any advice we would need?" She remained in an awkward silence, staring at the back of their teacher. He turned back, smiling at them." That is why I am your teacher, Sayuri-chan. You can certainly approach me for help and ... "

What he wanted to add was to remain unknown for now, because Hirudora interrupted him with a large growl." Hiroshi! We are getting very close, we can make contact any moment now!" The smile from Hiroshi´s lips disappeared." You heard him. Get ready for combat!" Sayuri immediately nodded and started to mould her chakra, with her right hand resting on the hilt of her sword, prepared to draw it. Her senses were on overdriwe, registering even the smallest change in her surroundings. Hiroshi turned to them once again." And remember, I will never let any harm come to ... "

He never got the chance to finish the sentence.
A large shuriken burried itself straight into his chest.

It was tough for Akira to tell if Chinatsu just didn't like him or actually just had a strange and off beat sense of humour, either way he didn't reply or respond, he simply continued to stare ahead. Soon after a silence settled Sayuri chimed in, providing a reassuring and optimistic outlook on things. Her positivity was somewhat infectious and Akira couldn't help but crack a smile, especially when their Sensei offered support to the idea.

As Hirudora warned that they were drawing near Akira's breathing picked up slightly and heart began pumping faster, adrenaline entered his system and he felt he was prepared...Or at least as much as he could be. He looked around his team one last time, hoping that together they'd be able to over come whatever came next.

Something was wrong. His Sensei had faltered and slipped back and he had over taken him, why? Was he preparing some kind of detection technique? His mind raced to come up with a solution as his head turned around, things were moving in slow motion and he finally saw what had happened. Akira knew that there was nothing he could do to help his Sensei now, he wasn't a healer, he wouldn't be able to move a fully grown man on his own and he was the furthest forward. Acting on instinct he reached into his bag and threw down a smoke bomb, hoping that would provide cover from further throwing weapons. After pushing off from his position the boy leapt off the nearest tree, rushing back towards Hiroshi and calling our to his team mates. "We have to move him! He's in no state to fight with a wound like that!" As he drew near he hoped that at least one of them would aid him.

Chinatsu Hon
Konoha Team 6

As soon as she saw the kunai she sent out three arrows in rapid succession at the same time Chinatsu's crow clone had just now appeared from behind them and had a kunai out at ready position. It all happened so fast she barely had time to process what everyone was saying and scrambled over to her clone as quickly she could. "Help Akira!" Chinatsu ordered her clone. Her clone nodded and darted over to him to help with Hiroshi-Sensei. But the real Chinatsu ran forwards determined to find the traitor herself and had little care for her own safety. She had her bow and arrow at ready as she looked around not too far from the others. Chinatsu whipped around as she looked for someone, anyone and the need to shoot someone was beginning to resurface.

She decided to go back to wait for Hirudora and Sayuri before continuing on the search. Jogging back in the direction she came it wasn't too long before she found the group in the smoke still. "Change of plans! Akira stay here and play nurse for Hiroshi-Sesnei. Hirudora, Sayuri and I will go on to look for the traitor. Is that okay with you Hirudora? And Akira, if anything else happens to him it's on you," Chinatsu said. She looked to the summon and then to Sayuri, gesturing for them to continue. She felt comfortable with leaving Akira because her clone was also staying behind and so there wasn't too much room for error.

"Ready?"

Ezuri moaned softly as he woke up. His body was still aching. The last thing he remembered was some medical nin at the border of his vision and his opponent in the middle. He tried to move his hands to his eyes to take the bandage off of his eyes. It was pressed on too tight. His eyes felt wet, perhaps there was some cotton under the ban age that they wet every few hours to keep his eyes hydrated and get out the poison. Ezuri heard the faint noise of paper and turned his head to the side. he felt the presence of someone next to him. Turning his head took a lot of effort, his neck, toes and fingers where the only muscles he could move. His voice sounded raw and scratchy as he managed to say "who" and started couching, he wished he could have some water.

Midori Sato

As soon as she got the permission from the Raikage Midori was off. She didn't look back to see if the ANBU that were supposed to "guard" her were following. They were anyway and they would be able to keep up with her no problem, of that she was sure. ANBU were quite a different level than she was after all. But now she just ran. She had to see Deidara. She had to make sure. She had to be sure.

Deidara was fine.

Right?

One of the ANBU steered her to the hospital. She didn't know the way after all and within twenty minutes Midori was inside. Somehow she had the feeling that it could have been shorter if she had taken a different route. But who cared about that now. Deidara was the only important thing now.

She teared into the hospital. It must have been a slightly strange sight. A little girl sprinting in, eyes fierce, followed by a couple of mean looking ANBU. Midori clamped herself onto on of the first nurses she saw.

"I need to see Deidara," she said slightly demanding, "Deidara Yuhiko. He is supposed to be here."

The woman shot a slightlysurprised look to the ANBU. It was clear that this girl was in a slight panic. Gently she placed her hand on Midori's shoulder. "Is he a Chuunin Exam combatant? I don't know much about those, but they are held in the east wing. You can ask there, okay?"

With a nod and a thank you Midori set off again. Het feet couldn't carry her fast enough. Her heart was racing. She had to make sure he was alright. Finally she made it to the east wing. A Kumo ANBU was already present, something that should have bothered Midori, but for which she now couldn't care less. The ANBU was standing next to a doctor who stopped Midori as she walked in.

Midori took this chance to ask her question again. "I'm here to see Deidara," she said, this time a little bit calmer, "Deidara Yuhiko, he had a battle today and he was hurt. Can I see him?"

The doctor was silent for a moment as he looked at the girl. "I'm afraid," he said after the short pause, "that this won't be possible, ma'am."

"Why?" was Midori's immediate question. "Is he sleeping? Or are you treating him? If he is sleeping, I can be silent. Really. I can be. I've been practicing a lot this last year."

The doctor sighed and, ignoring the ANBU staring over their shoulders, kneeled down before the girl. "You can't see Deidara ma'am, because unfortunately mister Yuhiko didn't survive his battle."

A silence.

A deafening silence.

A horrible deafening silence.

A horrible deafening silence during which Midori just stared and tried to comprehent what the words meant that the doctor had just spoken.

"W-wh-what?" She stuttered. That couldn't be right. That couldn't be possible. "That... that cannot be true. You are a doctor right? You are supposed to heal him! People don't die during the Chuunin Exam. It doesn't happen. That is why you have doctors. That is why you have doctors! They heal people! They don't let him die!" Slowly Midori's voice started to rise and grew stronger. Her panic could be tasted in the air as with her voice drips of killing intent would ooze off her. It was unintentional, but it happened anyway.

Immediately the ANBU were alert, one forming the beginning of a seal while the other stepped closer to the girl. The doctor on the other hand didn't even flinch.

"Sometimes we can't heal people, ma'am." He said slowly.

Midori shook her head. "No," she said. "No." Her hands clenched into fist and her nails dug into the flesh of her handpalm. It hurt. But she didn't care. A shaky breath was drawn from the air. The killing intent didn't disappear. If anything it kept rising as MIdori tried to contain her tears, anger, confusion.

"Miss Sato, I have to insist you calm down," one of the ANBU said as he placed a hand on her shoulder.

"I am not going to-" The girp of the ANBU tightened. Midori knew what he was afraid of. He was afraid that she would blow. That she would be that bomb. That she would release destruction upon this village. But she would never do that. Deidara had told her she wasn't a bomb and she believed him. She wasn't a bomb. She was not. It angered her that the ANBU thought she was just going to give into something like that.

With an icy calm stare she turned to him. "I am not going to explode," she said. Her nails were drawing blood, she knew it, she could feel it.

"Then I suggest you show it."

"My teammate died!!" Midori's scream pierced through the silent hall. She looked down to her shaky hands that were stil clenched. "I can't... how can... I need to... How am I supposed to deal with this?! I can't... He can't die... He said he would be there for me... He can't... He can't..." Her breaths began to quicken and then the tears started to follow. The doctor still carried the same serene expression on his face, though it must be getting harder for him to breath with the killing intent in the room.

"Ma'am," he started.

"Im not a ma'am," snapped Midori.

The doctor smiled lightly. "Miss, then-"

Again Midori interrupted him. "Can I see him?"

The doctor shook his head. "That is currently not possible. Unfortunately. I understand that this is difficult to comprehent. And that this is a difficult time, but it is just not possible"

Midori looked at the ground. She wanted to stop shaking, but failed to do so. She wanted to stop the tears, but failed to do so. Then she realized something. She needed to tell Reyna. She didn't know. She didn't know that a Konoha shinobi killed their teammate. What was his name again? Nara... Shika Nara... A wave of anger washed over her. What right had he to kill her teammember. She knew that this was being unreasonable, but currently being unreasonable felt pretty good.

The doctor rose. "I'm sorry," he said again. "I'll get you more information as soon as possible. Unfortunately I have more patients to attend. If that was everything you had to ask."

Midori nodded. And sniffed. And nodded again. The doctor walked away, leaving Midori in the hallway with the ANBU. There was noise everywhere and yet to Midori everything seemed silent. Everything seemed dead. "I need to tell Reyna," she said out loud.

"Miss Azuma will be informed." The ANBU replied. They had slightly eased their stance when Midori had stood down too.

"But I should do it."

"An ANBU is already underway."

"Well can I then go and see her?" Midori asked.

"No."

Midori felt like kicking. And screaming. And crying. And being with Reyna. Why wouldn't the Raikage just let her go wherever she wanted. Why couldn't she see Reyna? Why couldn't she see Deidara? Why couldn't the tears stop? Slowly she leaned against one of the walls and sank down until she sat on the ground. She didn't care if it was weird. She didn't care at all.

"Leave me alone..." she mumbled to the ANBU. The man, or women, who cared even.., didn't go away. She hadn't expected them too. "I said leave me alone..." she repeated a little bit louder.

One of the ANBU shook its head. "We can't do that."

Midori pulled her legs close to her chest so that her eyes were just peering over her knees. "Just leave me alone a little bit then."

The ANBU shook his head again. Midori stomped her foot on the ground.

"Can't you just stand there or something!" It was not a question even though it was raised as one. The Killing Intent flickered for a moment, but then died as Midori pressed her face against her knees in an attempt to hide herself from the world. With wary eyes that Midori couldn't see the ANBU collectively took a couple of steps back.

Midori sighed and cried.

Apparantly this was as good as it was going to get.

Kensuke Nimatsu - Konohagakure Team 7 Jounin

He handed the freshly awoken genin a bottle of water standing next to the bed, pressing the water in the boy's hands before straightening his bed a bit so he could drink. "You didn't too too shabby." Was all he said as he helped the blinded boy drink, before putting the water away again, and sitting down on his chair again. It hadn't been too long since he had arrived here, and Ezuri's early awakening was a good sign. Despite all precautions, every year there were genin casualties during the exams, something entirely unavoidable given the nature of them. He had been afraid that he'd sent his genin to suffer a similar fate, and had hoped that the experience they'd gain from this woul outweigh the dangers. It might've been a close call in the end, but he'd see if it was worth it sooner or later.

Heading towards where the matches would take place, Kuni repeated in her head where Reyna's match would take place. She promised to her new friend that she will be there to cheer for her and she was going to fulfill that promise. Doing a light jog on the way there, She hoped that she wasn't going to be late or anything.

After a few minutes she arrived at the arena and went to where the people were beginning to sit down before the match. She went and got a seat at the front row, wanting to see everything as clearly as possible without anyone to be in her line of sight. After sitting there for a moment and playing with her thumbs a bit, she saw Reyna at one of the entrances to the arena. She immediatly stood up and waved "Hey! Reyna! You can do it!" She said before lowering her hands and focusing her sight on Reyna's face. The expression appeared kind of... odd. Not like the expression Reyna had on the day they had a match. Slowly sitting down, Kuni wondered if everything was fine with her, and made herself a note in her mind to go see Reyna after the match and properly talk to her, even if its on the way back to the hotel.

Niji was quiet as she observed the map, merely listening to Shinichi as he added and added to the things he had to say. "I wouldn't quite say that, they just happen to be our defining moments in our lives right now... But we're going to change that fact, I'm sure. If you think about it, destruction and rebuilding is just a cycle of life like anything else, it's just more prone to happening with the amount of collateral damage us shinobi can cause if given the right tools."

Thinking of that, she verbally paused as she followed the map. She would have to talk to the Raikage again at some point, perhaps try to gain access to some subduing and binding techniques, that would be good.

Going by the map their journey wouldn't take long at least, but it gave her a enough time to reflect upon what she could do to further improve herself, techniques and physical ability were useful most of the time. But tactics and tools were also very useful, she lacked in three of these four areas

"Really though, seeing the assault on Kumo those years ago, it was a learning experience to show just what others will do for their own cause and for what they believe to be right. The scale of their prejudice against shinobi was... intimidating, yet also admirable that they were willing to fell entire villages for the purpose of trying to protect the civilians who don't have such capabilities. Everyone could use a gun or a sword, but the usage of chakra is for specific people with enough reserves, training and ability to make it into a reality, and some people just aren't capable of that." She suddenly retorted, glancing back towards him afterwards. "Seeing things like that is unavoidable sometimes."

Harumi Uchiha
Konohagakure ANBU,

Operation : Rising Sun
Part I.

Harumi sighed. She glanced at the small paper note. The orders were clear and Harumi was a bit saddened. She had gained, what? Four days off? Right after she had arrived back in Konohagakure from her last mission, reporting about what she had seen and done, which had been checked by the Intelligence corps, Harumi had been allowed to get some days off. She had mostly just taken a rest and done nothing much. But while she had taken it easy and slow, she had noticed that the world had just continued. The Leaf itself was a good example that the world was progressing even if she didn't. The new security measures were actually something that made her not curse or damn Hisoka's name.

She had even watched from a distance, observing the workers and others that were involved in building the new wall. It caused Harumi to ponder how tight the security as the defense would be. But deciding that she wouldn't need to worry about it, Harumi hadn't pay anymore attention towards it.

Picking up the scabbard, Harumi donned the gear up. The only piece that was missing was her mask. It laid on the small table in front of her and Harumi stared at it. Slowly her right hand went towards it. She thought about the mission she had just received. Though she would like it to have some more days off, she didn't consider this mission a possible problem. With a team of around fifty other ANBU, she wasn't even sure if there would be a possible threat during this mission. Exiting her home, she would quickly head to the meeting point, but under the disguise of a transformation technique. The plan was that the organized group would move out, but not raise any suspicion. Something that would happen if a big group of ANBU would march out of Konohagakure like that.

Heading to the meeting point, Harumi thought again about the mission. It would be to visit Keishi and deliver some documents from the Hokage to the Feudal Fire Lord. She would need to ensure that the man would understand what was needed to happen and why. But even with the note explaining some things, Harumi wasn't sure if it was to her liking. Then again, politics weren't much to her liking anyways and she was comfortable with her current position. ANBU during peace and a colonel during war. Positions that weren't neither too low or too high for her ambition.

As she arrived on the small plaza, she noticed several others. It was unsure who was ANBU and who wasn't, but that wouldn't matter. Coughing out loud, Harumi made a small signal with her left hand. She repeated it several times and then walked towards another meeting point. She could already see some eyes turning towards her and keeping her under watch. After she had done it by another meeting point, she then would head towards the main gate. The call had been given and the group had two hours to get out of Konohagakure and head to the second meeting point. From where their mission would start.
Fifty of them. Masked, armed and ready. Harumi glanced around as they were standing in the shadows of the big trees in the forest. She felt a bit uneasy for some reason. Thinking back to the previous sole operation she had been given, was this supposed to be a promotion? She had still feared that she would be given less important tasks due the fact she hadn't been able to fulfill the requirements of the operation to try to take away the Six Tails from Kirigakure. Now she was standing as the leader of the current operation on the soil of her own country, the country she served.

''We move out.'' Harumi ordered with a firm and stern voice. And like her, the other ANBU would move in formation towards Keishi.

Rini Yoto
Amegakure Genin.

Sick of it!
Won't trip and fall on my face anymore!

She kept punching the bag. But no matter how hard she tried, the bag didn't fell or moved that much. Kicking, punching and darting to the side to deliver another few kicks and punches, Rini grew frustrated. Sweat drenched her clothes and she was breathing heavily as she tried to deliver a powerful enough kick or punch. Finally after some time, she stood still, leaning over as her hands were placed on her knees.

Coughing, Rini closed her eyes as she wasn't sure how long she had been at it. A half hour? A hour? No, probably not that long. But why wasn't it working? Why wasn't she stronger? The past few days she had trained and she had gained new motivation after seeing some matches. Not Sho's. Sho was a moron, a complete fool. Somebody she despised to the bone. Stupid Sho, he would acknowledge her. He would fear her one day. After all, she had managed to not trip or do anything stupid during her own personal training. Training without a sensei, without somebody to instruct her what she should do. Jogging, pressing weights and other simple activities had taken her whole day. Only times she wasn't trying to increase her stamina, to make herself stronger was when she had to take a rest. Had to eat or sleep.

The light green eyes narrowed to slits as she stared up to the punching bag. Blasted! Why?! Why?! She thought to herself. Why wasn't it working? Slowly she dropped on her but and felt tears boiling up at the corner of her eyes. Biting on her lower lip, she managed to push the frustration and desperate emotions away. They were the cause she had been weak. That she had been able to be pushed around.

Clenching her hands to fists, she could see some faces while staring at the bag. The way how Sho had looked down at her. How that Kira looked. How both thought they were so much better, but what did they know? Rini raised her left hand up and swept away the sweat. After that, she pushed herself slowly up. Her legs trembled slightly and she felt becoming a bit numb. But she had to press herself to new limits.

Panting, she raised her hands in fists in front of her. They were shaking and her arms were trembling as well, but she managed to ignore some of the pain. It was just the sign that she was pushing her limits, wasn't it? She was growing stronger, wasn't she?

Unleashing what would be a battle cry, Rini took a step forwards and raised her right hand a bit up. Moving her arm forwards, she slammed her fist against the punching bag and noticed how it moved. Not that much, but enough to make Rini's eyes widen. Her mouth slowly opened as she almost could see every detail while everything was moving in a slow pace. She had managed to punch the bag with enough strength that it had moved more than usual. Joy started to spread as she wanted to smile and cheer, but then she was confronted by the bag. It slammed back into her face as she had leaned too much forward.

Slowly stumbling backwards, Rini tried to keep standing on her feet. No. Nooooo. Don't you-

She fell on the back of her head.

Mika Hayashi
Kirigakure Jounin,

Vital preparation.
From the inside and the outside out.

Mika looked at the village. It was around time for her next step. The past few days she had invested time to make sure that the numbers of allies for the revolution were growing. But there was also something that she had to consider. Something she hadn't quite well expected. The fact that Kirigakure had been heavily damaged due the Six Tail having gone rampant. Not sure how it had came that the beast had been able to rampage, Mika had used to her own advantage. It was sad and frustrating that the village was damaged, but she could shift the blame on Rika. If she was truly concerned or a capable Mizukage, why had that happened? Why wasn't there anybody who had lead the defenses or protected the civilians? With the growing civil unrest it was easy for Mika to instill doubt and frustration. Which would lead to anger and more easy to be convinced to join the revolution.

Mika considered still sad that it was so easy to manipulate people. To convince them with some promises of a better time. Though she wasn't trying to fool them. There would be better times if everything would go as she had planned. But there was also a downside about the rampaging of the Six Tails. It would draw Rika back to Kirigakure and though Mika considered that she had some support to seize and hold one or two islands, she didn't want to end up in such a situation. The best situation would be that she had enough support to make sure that Rika wouldn't be able to make a move back to the revolution once she would be back within Kirigakure.

Turning around, Mika thought about what her next steps would be. Heading to the nearby tavern where she would prepare her next steps. She had to write a letter towards somebody within the walls of Kirigakure. The sooner that her allies within the village would move into action and secure some ground, the better. Then she could try to amass more support from without and already start to prepare and breach for anything that would be thrown at her.

After she arrived in the room she rented, Mika locked the door behind her and started to write the letter.

After she had checked it at least twice, Mika was content with the letter. Now she had just to deliver it and already had thought of a nifty system. Once more, her days at the Kirigakure ANBU would prove themselves quite useful as she was aware how they operated with messages. The hidden message in the letter wouldn't be easy to find and probably seen as something trivial and not worth indulging in.

Heading back to the market of the village, Mika considered to take a slight break. She had to meet up with the swordsman who lived nearby. Only after she had gathered the support of the island had she felt confident enough to contact the man. Given the letter and some payment to a merchant that would head towards Kirigakure to do some business, something about selling some timber or such, Mika hoped her message would arrive soon in Kirigakure. The time to act was closing in.
