I'd say Video Games would still have developed eventually, just never becoming as popular as they did. Or getting past NES-level development.

Wait, I thought Fallout took place in 2300's with everything in a 50's style. By that logic, should everything that happened in the 1900s to 2100's exist?

I guess I can try and make it "fallou-versy" and have "Oath of Secrets: Shadowalker" and "¡La Fantoma!: Rising Sun" take the place of the games an manga respectively

The time lines diverge at ww2 with the transitor not being invented (Thus the modern computer wasn't invented). Instead they pursued atomic energy, and the golden age of the 50's which was highly racist, i don't think they would want Japanese stuff around. But things like video games were made

To put it simply, it seems that Fallout is a world where Japan never opened their borders and miniaturization never occurred to electronics. There is absolutely no reference to Japanese anything, and all civilian electronics (and most standard military-grade appliances) are still the boxy, clunky, inefficient hunks of steel and gold that they were like in the 70's.

@Earnest Evans Yes there's a little town called that, as fire works are illegal in North Carolina driving ten miles into South Carolina you can purchase them by the dozen. As such a town grew up around the place, it's a pretty cool place but I thought it would be interesting to make a sort of hub for the South and North to meet and exchange stories. It's also got hotels that were blown up and restaurants that were intact enough to cook in so it sorta became a hub of commerce once again.

Modern day South of the Border.

@Orcus, there's about an 80-year difference between the start of Fallout: Tactics and the start of Fallout 3.

So you are saying Sarah Lyon's is 99? Because it's stated those are two different expedition groups. Sarah was three when the group left.

You said in your background that your character left the bunker with Owyn Lyons, who was part of the first expedition. Sarah Lyons was born in 2251. The timeline here is completely fucked over.

In the year 2254, some time after the destruction of the "west coast Enclave", the Brotherhood's ruling council, based in the Lost Hills bunker in Southern California, decided to send a contingent of soldiers all the way to the East Coast, with three important objectives. First, to scour the ruins of Washington D.C., once the nation’s capital, to recover any and all advanced technology. Second, to investigate the reports of super mutant activity in the area, and third, to re-establish contact with the Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel and return them under Lost Hills command.

And so a small but hardened contingent of Brotherhood of Steel soldiers, led by an idealistic Paladin named Owyn Lyons (and accompanied by his friend and technological adviser Reginald Rothchild, as well as his three-year old daughter Sarah) set out from the Lost Hills Bunker in California, and began the long trek east to what was once Washington D.C.

I've done a bit of math. The difference between the time of the second expedition and Fallout 3 is 23 years. So far, so good. The time of this RP is 12 years after Fallout 3. Combine that together for a total difference of 35 years between the second expedition and the start of this RP.
