I have been wanting to do an RP based off one of the most amazing final fantasy games, Crystal Chronicles! In short:

"In our world, there existed 4 races, the Clavat (Human), Lility (Dwarf - without beards), Yuke (Wizard - Bird spirit looking thing), Selkie (Elf - looks human and super agile). In this world, the 4 races existed peacefully together, it was indeed a joyous time. However, not all good things shall last. In time, a meteor fell into their world far into the mountains to an area where no person has traveled before. Eventually, people began to forget the event, until everyone started to get sick. The cause? A miasma now covers all the land, and the only thing holding it back are the protective crystals in all towns. There was on problem though, the crystals couldn't keep the protected forever, as a matter of fact, they needed to be recharged annually. In order for the people to survive, they chipped off a piece of that large crystal and attached it to special gathering bowls. The purpose: To send a group of people out into the deadly miasma to gather myrrh (a liquid that recharges the crystal). As hard as it sounds, it is even more difficult as the only people sent on this mission are the most trustworthy and able of fighters. For the road is now infested with vicious monsters that will tear apart the unwary.

Are you brave enough to be in the caravan? Also, the time period is Medieval.

It does sound interesting. So how would monsters have survived the miasma?

So turns out, that in the game, Monsters and Moogles are immune to the effects of Miasma. Why? They don't explain, however, we can say that the Miasma made these monsters unusually vicious and bloodthirsty. As for the moogles, they are treated as the mailing service in the game. At the end of every stage a Mail Moogle would bring letters to each character from their family.

Interested! For the record, this is going to follow the first game on the GC, right?

Correct. I am not a fan of the sequels.

Super interested! I'm assuming the main story will be followed pretty closely? Though hopefully each myrrh tree won't be visited multiple times. I think that might become a bit tedious unless you have something planned.

Anyways, I'll be keeping an eye out for the OOC.

Well... Seeing as how there are other caravans, who knows. Perhaps a myrrh tree we go to will be empty?

I remember this game, it really takes me back. Unfortunately, I was never able to get the equipment to allow for multiplayer (I hate GBA link cables more the any other add on because of this). Let's see if I can live out the missed opportunity in this

I've only ever met one person who managed to get a link cable. You can't even emulate multiplayer properly because of the wonky multiplayer system.

...The radar/minimap GBAs were a nice idea, though. Makes me think that it was the inspiration for the Wii U gamepad.

I had two link cables, and my friend and his brother had one, so we always did multiplayer. Some of my best childhood memories right there. It was a blast during multiplayer: fighting over drops, coordinating menus, shouting out catchphrases for combo attacks. Ring of Fates was a good game, but I remember being ridiculously disappointed by it. Echoes of Time was a bit better. I didn't even bother with the Wii game or the kingdom ones. I wish it'd get a proper sequel (or hell, even just a remake) on the 3DS.

I actually started a new game up the other day on my old Wii, funny enough. Lost my GBA though, so I ordered one off of LukieGames and I'm waiting on it to continue (dem bonus points).

It actually wouldn't be too expensive to get all the stuff together now (the game's like $15, used GBAs are like $25 each, and the cables are like 10$ each). Assuming you already have a Gamecube/Wii and the game, it'd be about $35-40 a person. Not exactly cheap for a 10 year old game, but you'd get more out of it than a lot of $60 titles nowadays, I'm sure.

Well, I am with all of you guys. Some of my best memories were with the gamecube, as when we got it, we got 4 connector cables, Four Swords adventure, and Crystal Chronicles. (We already had all the gameboys we could need) Seriously though, it is worth the money to get the whole set-up. Well, I'll get cracking on a CS and add a little more flesh to this RP. If you guys don't mind a little waiting.

I think I did the play the game on gamecube and I didn't have link cables. It's funny though, when I googled the name title the images or screenshots of the game looked a little different then the game I played, but the classes in the game were the ones in the game I played.

Did they have two versions of the game on gamecube?

Also I am looking forward to O.O.C..

Yes. There was a sequel and there were many DS games made. But none was as good as the original sadly... As for the CS i'll get cracking on that now.
