The blonde couldn't help herself as she blushed furiously as she once again came into a very close proximity to Isaac. She could hear her heart racing and her face heating up with all the blood inside. "I, uh... I-I appreciate that... Not t-that you have t-t-to do that, b-but that's nice of y-you," she stammered and found herself trying to distract herself, doing anything to lessen the blood flow in her head and all around her face. It was a feeling she had yet to feel accustomed to and she had a feeling that this was just one of many moments like this to come. "Okay, moving on... Your turn, Isaac," she said, still trying to distract herself somehow. Argh!! This is so embarrassing! she thought with no small amount of shock and panic.

Isaac can't help but chuckle as he watched Hayley's face grow redder by the second as she stammers. Moving back to give her some space, he removes his arm from her shoulders and takes her hand after letting go with his other hand. After a moment or two of silence, he says, "I wonder what I'd be doing right now if we hadn't met. Probably the same thing I was doing before then: wandering aimlessly and visiting the diner and library on occasion, hoping the next day would be different somehow." He then turns to her and asks, "What made you decide to ask me to stay with you when we met?"

"Well, it's not for an entirely altruistic reason, mind you..." Hayley sighed, trying to fish out her past memories from her cluttered and muddy head. "I figured that I could keep a closer eye on you if you stay with me and then take you out if you did anything funny. That, and if you weren't a threat, as you've proven yourself to be, I could at least take you off the streets and not let you suffer alone like I did. You being homeless gave me a good opening for that." Ashamed and now remorseful of her original intentions, she frowned sadly and looked at Isaac. "I'm sorry about that... I was just too paranoid at the time to let the risk fly by. I hope you don't take that negatively."

Hearing Hayley's true reasons for taking him in, Isaac couldn't help but feel hurt, but only slightly. Once that feeling passed, he smiles and scoots closer one more time to give her a soft, brief kiss before moving away again. "That should answer your question," he says with a chuckle, rubbing the back of her hand with his thumb. "And in case it didn't," he continues, "then I'll say what's in the past, stays in the past. All that matters is that you trust me now. At least, that's what I think, considering our relationship now." Chuckling, he gives her hand a brief squeeze, still rubbing her hand with his thumb.

Smiling hopefully, the blonde timidly scooted closer to him for comfort and sheepishly nodded, still in disbelief that he was willing to forgive her for that. "I will..." she replied, unsure what else she needed to say to further emphasize her desire to trust and love him. It's the least I could do. I mean, that's what couples do, right? Love, trust and protect each other? she thought wistfully. In a fit of joy, she gently pressed her free hand against his cheek, finding comfort and solace in the warmth his skin gave out. Giving it a gentle caress, she whispered, unsure if she was doing it correctly, "Thanks... You have no idea how relieved I am to hear that."

Feeling Hayley's hand against his cheek, Isaac can't help but tilt his head, pushing lightly against her hand as his smile widens a bit more. Reaching up with his free hand, he gently cups the back of her neck and touches his forehead to hers once more, gazing deeply into her steely-blue eyes, the same eyes he had unwittingly fallen in love with who knows how long ago. Man, you two are sappy, Vincent says. Don't you have something better do do? Isaac asks. Trapped inside of your head, there aren't a whole lot of options, I'm afraid, Vincent replies as Isaac says, "Don't worry about it. Honestly, there's nothing you can say or do that'll make me love you any less, Hayley."

"I'll return the favor or, at the very least, die trying to," Hayley replied, a small part of her laughing at herself and her seemingly out-of-character mellowness. However, she felt something else inside her mind, a calculative, but satisfied tinge within her chest. Realizing that her 'other self' was now content to further study her relationship and not interfere with her life, she let out a contented sigh and moved in once again to take his lips into a shy, yet deep, kiss.

Isaac felt a moment of surprise at the kiss, since it was the first time Hayley had brought him into one instead of the other way around, but that's quickly forgotten as he closes his eyes and returns the gesture of affection with a passionate one of his own. Moments pass until, the need to breathe suddenly making itself known, he breaks away, slightly panting, but grinning nonetheless. "You're pretty good at that," he says with a chuckle before pecking her lips again and saying, "I love you."

"I.. Iloveyoutoo," Hayley nervously replied, stringing her words like a sped up record player. Scooting away to give both of them some space, she took a deep breath and gradually calmed down as time passed. "Yeah, I'm still not used to the whole kissing thing and all..." she muttered timidly, then shook her head to clear her mind and asked Isaac, "Question: Back when I first lost control of my power and when my 'other self' presumably surfaced for the first time, what did you feel? To be honest, I can't say much about that incident. No matter how hard I tried to recall it, the whole thing still felt like a giant blank gap in my head."

Feeling a bit hurt, although the understanding that she wasn't used to this affection eclipses it, as Hayley scoots away, Isaac thinks back to when Hayley's other self made herself known, how he felt. After a while, he says, "Honestly, I was kinda afraid. I mean, considering the fact that she seems completely devoid of emotion and, to her, killing can seem as normal as breathing, I'd be crazy not to be scared." After a moment of silence, he then adds, "But I also felt...I dunno, a small thrill of happiness to see that I wasn't the only one with a split mind. It made me feel like I wasn't alone, anymore."

With a blank expression in her eyes, Hayley shook her head and gave him a quizzical grin. "I don't know if I should be happy or be angry about what you've just said," she paused, then sighed as she continued, "I suppose she isn't all that bad. She's been pulling me around the straight and narrow. Annoying as it may be, she has saved me from situations I'd rather not get dumped into and she did teach me about my powers, albeit slowly, so I guess I could be thankful of her presence."

"Kinda reminds me of mine and Vincent's relationship, although he's more prone to drag me along the more chaotic side of things," Isaac replies with a chuckle as Vincent says, Oh, you like it and you know it! "That guy's saved me countless times over the past few months," Isaac goes on, ignoring his counterpart. "And even though he isn't exactly the best company, he was still enough to keep me from feeling completely alone when we were on our own, so I guess I have him to thank for that, too." Don't mention it, buddy! Vincent says with a laugh.

"It's kinda ironic how our other personalities are so far apart. While your brainless friend is on the chaotic, emotional and psychotic side of the fence, the 'other me' is on the other side: calculative, mechanical and oh so orderly..." Hayley muttered, smiling softly as she looked at Isaac with a kind, yet curious gaze. "It's like we both are meant to be attracting opposites or something. It's kinda weird, yet exciting now that I think about it."

Isaac chuckles and squeezes Hayley's hand, saying, "I know, right? If that's the case, I guess we were meant to find each other sooner or later. I'm just glad it happened when it did." Smiling at her, he leans against her, touching the side of his head to hers as he looks down at their hands, which were intertwined with one another. "I know this whole thing has made you uncomfortable a few times," he quietly says, "but thank you for giving me a chance."

"W-Well, it's the least I could do... Again, I'm happy to be with you in this relationship," Hayley timidly replied, looking just slightly less timid and more adjusted. "Aside from this whole 'dating' thing and all, I wonder if I could be skilled enough to use my powers to help you in a fight. I mean, from what you and the 'other me' said about what I could do, I'm getting more excited with the prospect of being able to all those sort of stuffs. You know, maybe someday I can take you out for a flight above the town! It'd be really awesome to look at this city from up above like birds. I hope you don't have any height phobia though. That would be a massive bummer," she said with a mild chuckle.

Hearing Hayley suggest they go flying when she mastered her powers, Isaac's face lights up as he says, "That would be amazing! I've always wanted to look down at the city from up in the air like that. Now you've got me excited." As Isaac chuckles, Vincent, on the other hand, was less thrilled. What do you mean, 'that would be amazing'?! Isaac's other half demands. One wrong move from that height and it's over! No 'Press Start to continue,' it's finished! Hearing Vincent's protests, Isaac can't help but laugh even harder, barely able to say, "It seems...Vincent's a bit...less thrilled to do that!"

Grinning from ear to ear, Hayley chuckled evilly and replied, "Hey, all the better! What more could top a bird's eye view than a crying and screaming psycho far high up?" With a gentle pat on his shoulder to reassure him that she was merely speaking in jest, she took a deep breath, closed her eyes and laid down on the bed, smiling softly and asking, "Just curious, but what would you do if you could become your favorite animal and why?"

Thinking about Hayley's question, Isaac lays down next to her. Eventually, he rolls over onto his side and says, "I'm not sure. I guess if I were to become a wolf, I'd just start doing...wolf stuff. You know, hunt, sleep, all that jazz. Although, the one thing I think I'd do first is find my way to some woods and just run as fast and as long as I can, just to enjoy the freedom of running that fast with nothing to worry about." Laying his hand on Hayley's stomach, he then asks, although he was certain he knew the answer already, "How about you? If you could become a raven, what's the first thing you'd do and why?"

Thinking for a brief moment, Hayley looked at Isaac in the eyes and replied, "I would fly. I would soar through the skies without being chained to the ground, where very few would bother looking or worrying. I would go and live in different places, different cities, and nobody would bat an eye. I'd travel around and see new things without having to worry about everything else. Still, I'd probably go and find a nice little forest, preferably with a wolf I can harass everyday from the skies." Giving him a mischievous grin, the blonde turned to her side and chuckled.

Isaac can't help but laugh, both at what Hayley said and the mischievous grin that accompanied it. As she rolls over to her side, Isaac moved his hand slightly, now resting it on her waist as he props his head up with his other arm. "Well," he says with a raised eyebrow, "who's to say that wolf won't be finding ways to harass a certain raven?" Chuckling again, he scoots a bit closer to Hayley, while still leaving some space between the two of them, and moves his arm out from underneath his had to take her hand. Still looking into her eyes, he adds, "I'm pretty sure the wolf could mess with the raven just as much as the raven could mess with the wolf."
