Holy hell you are lucky that we have Akihiko Nara as a sensei rather than Mitsunari Kohaku. Kohaku would have kicked Mikone down even further and said to 'git gud'

The man isn't cold hearted his idea of learning is to learn from experience. You fail you get up and do it again until it's done. Screw ups are things that you need to get over and make sure your buddies get out alive. Negative reinforcement is what turned him into an ANBU class jounin. That and a certain event that changes his life.

True enough but in all honesty if Masa knows Kuro has the sharingan it ain't smart to pick a fight with him. Especially since he is lack luster in some regards but he sharpened his actual combat techniques to a fine point. It's up to you to decide how Masa will react once he learns that Kuro almost died during his childhood and still carrys a scar from it.

heh. yeeeeah i told you'd she'd miss. That encouragement is great though! I can't think of a better time for her to grow from this skills examination.

Akihiko is a very understanding man who understands the need for growth but he isn't as effective in terms of actually teaching techniques. He's like the lecturing type of teacher and not the sort of gym/science class teacher who shows you how it's done step by step.

Well yeah break the nuts if your character has the physical strength too do it or do whatever you feel gets the job done. I don't think Masa does but he's your character. These are tests after all and it's all based on what your character can and can't do.
