Gilles and Johnny can form a rock band, Johnny can sing pretty well and play guitar, and Gilles, though you'd probably never guess, knows piano, and is also a pretty good singer. You sort of have to learn at one point or another to sing well as a theater kid it's like an unwritten rule or something I swear.

I think I am going to have it so Aquamarine can sing, just to go with the whole sea and sailor thing. Have a siren kinda thing makes me feel like it works but I don't think she will like to sing in front of others XD

@Akayaofthemoon I am a theater kid and I took choir before the extra-curricular ban was a thing, so I'm a decent enough singer myself, and everyone in theater seems to be as well for some reason or another, and if they aren't, they must learn, because invariably they will eventually have a role involving singing solo. XD

@pyroman Well there's Amber but gems technically are sexless but chose to identify with a gender (or lack of) but ye.

Oh no! I missed 21308 being on T.T

Yeah I have noticed that most drama people will have a singing part eventually so you need to at least learn to sing on key or as good as you can. XD

I know they are all sexless and referred to as 'she' but some of them I still say 'he' for some reason because of their looks XD even with some cannon gems I do it because of the way they sound and look for some reason lean towards more male in my view

I guess I'm lucky in that I've had a lot of practice prior because of choir but I've seen so many theater kids freak out because suddenly they must sing. It's also a lucky thing because I pretty much never stop singing. Apparently I sometimes even sing in my sleep according to my sister and it scares her to no end. So if I had a voice like my mother (love you mom but it's true) not only would I be annoying but I'd also be living ear hell. Glad I got a good voice like my daddy, and his improv skills to boot. XD

I still sometimes refer to Jasper as a 'he' even though she's canonically referred to as a 'she', but she's the only one I view as more masculine than feminine.

Jasper and Ruby are the only two that seem more male to me. This has nothing to do with Ruby and Sapphire being together though most people blame me for that. It's just my first episode of Steven Universe was Jailbreak so I didn't know about the whole gem genderless thing and I thought Ruby looked and sounded male. It wasn't till I watch the first official episode and continued onward that I understood everything I saw. Sadly, my first impression of Ruby stuck. If I had watched it through, I would have seen all the hints and seen Ruby differently >.<

@Akayaofthemoon I always thought Ruby sounded pretty feminine, but Jasper's voice reminds me too much of my cousin with the weird gravely tone and everything who is 100% dude but with feminine-ish traits but is still clearly a dude and so I sort of saw Jasper that way they even share the long eyelashes and everything. XD I swear even her attitude reminds me of his when he was younger and maybe even a little bit today.

And it's okay, I know that's not the reason why you saw Ruby as such initially, otherwise you'd have to interpret either Pearl or Rose as male since though it's one-sided and the other may or may not be aware of it, it too is a thing. XD
